As an absolutely beginner when it comes to motorcycles... I just wanted to write a review to give Tommy a shout out for today. He was great with sharing information to help me make decisions on motorcycle wear/gear. I'm a bit sad that I didn't come here first as I made a few other non refundable purchases with a store that wasn't as friendly. If I really get into riding, I'll be coming here first as he didn't just point and go "it's over there" or give me minimal information where I'm left confused. Drove to the Fullerton Cycle Gear to get tires installed, only to be told the tire machine was down. No ETA, no clear solution. I was asked if I wanted to drive to another county, with no guarantee their machine was working. I ended up returning the tires I bought online because of this. Customer service hasn't contacted me, and I'm disappointed by the lack of transparency and effort to help. Cycle Gear needs to improve communication and make it easier for customers to get the service they're promised. read more

Great experience today being my first time there. Alex was amazing! His knowledge and assistance was impeccable! He helped me find the right gear and made sure to answer all questions. He made it easy. This store will be my go to for any gear I need in the future. He also found a shirt I wanted at a different store and had it transferred so that I can get the savings. Went to Cycle Gear to get some protective gear. JC was there to help us select some gear that would fit us well. They had the limited edition Sedici Strada II Forger Carbon in all sizes. They had a decent size selection of jackets and gloves in all the major brands. We were able to get all the gear we need for now and they had discounts to help. JC was very personable and knowledgeable. Daren was friendly as well, nice customer service. Possibly will be back to grab some boots. read more

I've been going to this cycle gear ever since I got my license last year. Customer service is usually good. On my last visit I brought a pair of tires i bought from Revzilla to get them installed. Keep in mind this is the first time i have replaced my tires on my bike. Service was fairly "quick". Dropped it off in the morning before work and was ready by around 5pm. The reason for my 1 star review is due to the fact that the technician who replaced my tires tried to cover up multiple scratches on both my wheels. Wiping down the wheel with degreaser revealed scratches covered with SHARPIE MAARKER around the outer edge of the wheels and scratches where the old wheel weights were located. The dishonesty of this one technician has lost a customer who has spent thousands on gear and accessories. I'm hoping the other locations are not this shady. Will never bring my wheels here ever again. read more

As a beginner motorcycle rider, Cycle Gear was the right place to buy my gear and accessories. Prices are not cheap, compared to what you can find online, but the necessary guidance is precious! This is the only Cycle Gear location that I dread having to visit. Unfortunately most stores are at a distance from my location but I'd rather make the long drive than come here. The customer service is horrible and the staff needs to be trained better. The negative vibe of the shop is felt as soon as you walk in.. the staff is never willing to help and its as if they get annoyed when you ask questions about anything. On top of that, this store is the reason why i decided NOT to renew my RPM account. Better off shopping elsewhere than having to deal with such disappointing service. read more

I had called earlier this week regarding cardo installation on my motorcycle helmet. Myra was happy to assist me. I showed up and she took care of me. I was surprised to she that she was the only one working the front desk. Not only was helping me with my cardo installation. But she was also answering phone calls and greeting customers and answering any question they had. This young lady knows how to multitask and perform well under pressure. I just wanted to thank the young man who me yesterday 8-16-22 from the moment I walked into the store I was pleasantly greeted by both associates I was in the market for purchasing a tool bag for my sissy bar and he helped me out tremendously so I was going to install the bag on sight and at one point I needed a flat head screw driver which he allowed me to use he even came out of the store to try to assist me with any concerns I had this is why I have been shopping at this location on Lemon St since 2007 although associates come and go the store still maintains a high quality customer service ,Kudos to Cycle Gear the first place i visit when it comes to my motorcycle also they recognize all Veterans and kindly state thank you for your service read more

My father and I just went in to look at helmets for the closeout sale. Unfortunately the employee who helped us was quite standoffish and we were left with the impression that our questions were an intrusion on his time. (I didn't get his name, larger hispanic male, late twenties-early thirties) He did not come across eager to help and almost made us feel like a burden as we asked clarifying questions about the products and pricing. This is uncharacteristic for the employees here as previously we've had nothing but great experiences. Maybe this individual was having a bad day but we figured we'd write a review to let management know that the experience left us upset and with a bad taste in our mouths. Went here to get a tire changed. I walked in 4 or 5 guys standing around the cash register or sitting on the counters. As I walk in I hear bad news man you tire changer machine is broken you should have called. You can also do it by hand if your business offers tire changing services. Don't wanna shit on them that bad the previous time the big guy with a beard was awesome and helped me out. But this time I see kids not doing shit not wanting to do shit. Updating my review as my previous was from back in 2011. Cycle Gear, in my opinion has gone down hill. I used to love them however, the store brand, BILT, is worthless. I guess the ol' saying is true - you get what you pay for. Five year warranty for their gear. I took advantage of this several times however, I'm tired of having to return gloves, that don't hold up for six months at at time. To elaborate why this especially bothers me - you have to first understand, that I'm a motorcycle instructor. I bought boots and gloves specifically for teaching. I figure, a helmet that costs $40, boots for $50 and gloves for $20 should be good enough for me riding or running around the range. They're not. The boots claim to be waterproof. States it in plain black and white. I've turned in two sets of boots now because my feet get soaked from just standing and walking around in the rain, on the range. It's not like I'm going swimming with them on. I've been through three pairs of gloves - returning them because they come apart at the seams as well as the stitching that holds the velcro pads in place. The helmet seems to be okay however, the padding isn't made of the best quality but again, it's specifically for when I'm on the range. If the gear can't hold up to when I'm just standing, walking or riding on an instructional course at low speeds - I'm definitely not trusting them for when I'm riding on the streets or freeways and especially not on the track. The staff is excellent at this location. They're helpful and they know motorcycling. I probably shouldn't say this but I just won't say a name - but one of the staff was honest and told me that BILT is not the best quality stuff. I used to only wear the name brand gear. It's the only way I plan to go from now on. read more

First I called this location FULLERTON, Ca on 11/27 asking about their supply inventory and she said she didn't know if she had things but they were the biggest store out of their chain. Then when I went into the store maybe 2 hours later the girl was sitting behind the counter or standing but never one time did she ask us if we needed help she didn't greet us never one time did she stop doing whatever it was she was doing back there which didn't seem like it was productive in any manner another couple walked in she said hello to them but never came out to offer any assistance to anybody! This girl is a useless salesperson that does not represent the company I have gone to the Medford Oregon store and I can tell you those people in that store are top-notch A1 they greet you they help you they give you input this girl didn't even know what she was doing there this was on November 27th read more

This is the second Cycle Gear in one day! I was looking for a woman's jacket for a street bike and they actually sell the Dainese brand here for women. Although pretty pricey yet fit was perfect, I decided to wait on it. I had just spent $500 on a Shoei helmet at the HB store so I was in a bit of a budget situation. I ended up buying a Bilt jacket which was around $100. This was right up my price range alley and the fit was just right. It's all black but it does come with retro reflective strips for a bit more visibility. The gentleman who helped me out was informative but not as friendly or approachable as the guys at the HB location. Still good service though. read more

Last weekend the assistant store manager Alex helped me get a helmet shield for my very old BILT (Cycle Gear) brand helmet, and he actually searched for CG shops nationwide, and ended up getting me the old BILT accessory, I was amazed. Just getting into street riding and came in to pick out a helmet, but I was also looking for a coms system to add to it as well. Raquel I believe her name was, was super super helpful she was very knowledge in the different types of helmets as well as a coms system, she recommended the Cardo 4X. After having many questions answered I was sold on getting the Cardo 4x to add to my helmet. I ended up getting a AGV K3 helmet and she even helped install the Cardo system in it. Nothing like a super helpful employee to answer all the questions I had and each one being answered in a honest way. Thanks again Raquel! I came in looking for a helmet and Tommy helped me find just what I was looking for. Tommy was absolutely fantastic and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, the other employee, Alex, was not. At first my boyfriend and I thought Tommy was on his own trying to juggle multiple different customers and transactions. It was only until we were trying to pay out that Alex came out from the back to help. Instead of trying to help Tommy, he told him off for not prioritizing customers then started our transaction, decided he would rather help another customer, then placed Tommy with us. The whole time Alex was rude and verbally condescended his fellow employee. It was extremely off putting especially after we were spending over $1000 in store. I am super grateful to Tommy for his help, input, and kindness especially since he seemed to take on a bulk of the work in store. Alex, though, not so much. read more

Still 5 stars but ONLY IF YOU DEAL WITH JOJO OR JESSE. Came in today to exchange a pair of gloves and my god, the three associates present were the WORST customer service reps I've ever encountered. Totally ignored me, and when they did help me, it was muted and disassociated. The two girls they have working there need to be fired. They seriously have no idea what to do with customers. I ordered 3 pairs of gloves to be delivered to the Lemon St. store and I called ahead to let the rep know that I was coming in at 4pm. I get to the store and the girl has no freaking clue where my gloves are. She brings out one and says the other two didn't arrive. Uh...they came in last Friday. Look again. Jojo came out and even told her where they were. She goes in the back and returns with one pair. Where's the other one? Another rep comes and ignores me while helping her find MY ITEM. All the while standing about two feet away across the counter, facing me. The girl goes into the racks and brings out the third pair. Eff. Blindly hands me the gloves, no eye contact, nothing. Same performance for each pair. Then after about 15 minutes, she comes back and says, "Well?" *facepalm* I wanted to work with Jojo but he was mounting a tire for someone so I was at the mercy of the zombie staff. I had also planned to change out my cheek pads but after dealing with the "help" staff, I just got my gloves and left. Hopefully I'll catch Jojo on my next visit. I'll be sure to call ahead. This store has a small selection of items and is also limited in the brands carried. A third of the store is dedicated to parts and has the same cheapness of an Autozone. Walking in I knew there wasn't good chance that I would find anything, if a store has a small men's section for gear then fughetaboutit when it comes to women's. =( I was on a quest though, so I spent the time looking at all their gear. In the glove section, gloves were disorganized and small sizes were hard to find, they said they restock once mid-week but it didn't look that way. I guess I am picky since I was set on gauntlets and was looking for comfort + features. After diligently searching, I didn't leave Cycle Gear empty handed... literally. A bin of gloves up front were on sale for half-off. I wasn't sure at first since it was the brand Bilt, but after trying on a pair of gloves I found them a very comfortable fit. The looks weren't bad like a combination knock-off of my friend's Spidi Race Vent Gloves and Pentas. I don't know how many seasons I can get out of them, but the price I paid was great for leather gauntlets. =) read more

This place is a place I recommend to anyone who rides. I usually bought all my gear (helmets, jackets, gloves etc.) but it's a pain to order the items find out they don't fit as expected or look the way I thought. This place is nice because you can see some of the products and try on similar items, but the reason it's only 4 stars is because they don't have a ton of stuff to look at since most of their items are online. For instance I wanted a specific helmet type to try on for the fit before ordering any they didn't have the style so I had to order online and eventually return it. read more

Friendly staff (out of all the Cycle Gear locations i've been to). Go see Jojo (I think he may be the manager). He'll take the time out to assist you with your needs whether its for motorcycle gear, to swing arm stands, to helmets to boots. He's very knowledgeable and everyone in there is willing to take the time to help out even though they may get busy at times. They can order anything in the bike catalog if the items aren't in the store. The only gripe for me is that this Fullerton location is far from my house. BUT, take a ride or a drive out....SONIC'S is right across the street! read more
