Something has happened to this pharmacy over the past year or so. It has gone from moderately capable and customer friendly to a collection of really seriously incompetent pharmacists and staff, and positively surly register/checkout employees. Avoid this cvs at all costs. read more

(I'm not a local and don't use this place as my go to pharmacy or my go to anything so take whatever I say with a very, very large grain of something.) We stopped in here while making the walk from the Zoo to the Cleveland Park Metro stop. It was hot. When I say hot I mean really, really hot. We were thirsty. This place sells ice cream novelties and drinks at a fraction of zoo pricing. We stopped. The coolers were fully stocked. The store was dead The cashier was waiting for us. We were in and out in less than three minutes. Beautiful. read more

This CVS provides world-class bad customer service. CVS moved my prescription to another CVS, because last month I needed an emergency replacement of a critical device. When I asked the moron pharmacist "why;" he gave me a ridiculously stupid answer. When I indicated that his answer made no sense, he insisted that he already provided the answer. He continued with more stupid statements, he then refused to fill my prescription (a life essential device). When I spoke to the pharmacy manager, she indicated that the employee "was an excellent employee," rather than actually addressing the issue. When I was a Walgreens customer, their customer service was always top notch. Go to hell CVS. read more

The pharmacy gets its deliveries on Saturday. So how is its inventory management so incompetent that they're out of stock of essential OTC pharmacy requirements on a Sunday morning? (Easy answer: they're CVS and don't give a damn.) read more

If you have the option, go ANYWHERE else for your prescription medications. I am a new customer here and I have had to make three trips this week for two refills. My doctor had to send the prescriptions in twice because they claimed to not have received it. Then they couldn't find it because a clerk had "set it aside" since my information was not on file. Once that was found it was only one of two and I spent an hour here while they had to call the on-call doctor to get the ok to fill the second one. Maryanne only slightly redeemed herself by actually trying to help me, unlike my previous two visits where no help was offered. While waiting I overheard a conversation with another customer about how they were out of generic and she would have to get brand name. They did not inform her that her insurance would not cover it nor how expensive it was going to be. For a large chain pharmacy, it seems that running out of medication is not something that should happen. And if it does, why not refer them to the one down the street that is also a CVS and may have it? I was also offended at the lack of customer privacy they afforded. While on the phone with my doctor's office, the pharmacist loudly announced the medication I was trying to refill. Thankfully it wasn't anything more than an antibiotic, but it concerns me nonetheless. The staff outside of the pharmacy and at the cashier are always friendly, which is the only reason I've given them two stars. Bottom line? Unless you're stopping in for a bottle of water or a pack of gum, avoid this location and keep on moving down the street! read more

I live around the corner and try to go to Walgreens down the street instead of this CVS whenever I can. I hate that CVS forces you to use self-checkout (are you gonna pay me to be a cashier, CVS? No? Didn't think so). Other annoyances: 1. I bought expired cream cheese and had to return and exchange it. 2. I had to use the restroom REALLY badly. When I asked if I could use the restroom, I was told that there were no public restrooms- note the operating word of public. Thanks a lot, CVS. 3. Lastly, I picked up a prescription, for which I received multiple robocalls. I had to indicate if my phone number was for a mobile or landline, and was told that it was just to confirm my number on file. Read carefully: it was to give permission for CVS to call and text you. Just a 3 min walk away from my home and my regular items are usually on sale! Sales associates are always helpful and patient. Self checkout is always a smooth transaction and there are never any lines. Self checkout is coupon compatible and super easy to use! read more

I was happy to find toilet paper at this CVS this evening. I was dismayed however to have pay a whopping $15.89 for said toilet paper, regular price seems to vary from 9.99 to 13.00. This is ridiculous, particularly at this time. This is price gauging and it is unacceptable!! read more

The new-and-improved Cleveland Park CVS is significantly better than the old cramped one. They purchased the adjoining space and recently finished construction. The aisles are now easily walkable and it doesn't have a dark, dingy basement feel any more. I feel like CVS is starting to carry slightly higher quality beauty products than the average drugstore, and that's always a plus! Nice cashiers and the pharmacist I've dealt with is friendly too. Great place to put in a prescription...you can grab a slice at nearby Vace while you wait! read more

The pharmacist here was more helpful than most chain pharmacists. He helped my husband find the right OTC cold medicine and did not try and sell us unnecessary items. My only objection is to the self service checkout. Also, their selection of housewares is limited. read more

One of the nicest, friendliest and cleanest CVS's I have visited ... and I feel like I've seen 'em all at this point. Never crowded, someone by the door to help you find something if you're in a rush, or give you attention right away if the self check out goes haywire. The staff here stayed 20 minutes after closing one night getting a coupon to ring for me one evening when I had a basketful of merchandise - I offered to come back the next day but they insisted and worked past close to get the discount to ring properly. I appreciate the extra effort. read more

This CVS Pharmacy has efficient and friendly service. I had an unsuccessful experience at the Walgreens down the street today, so I had my doctor switch to this CVS. The CVS had my meds ready within 5 minutes compared to the Walgreens who said I had a 30 minute wait after waiting 15 minutes in line. Choose this CVS over Walgreens any day. read more

They seem to run out of my prescription a lot and inevitably I have a week between when I need the refill. Then I started getting phone calls from them saying I need to refill my scrip but I wasn't out yet they called twice in the same day. That's a little annoying. When I need it I'll come in... maybe they figured they needed to order a month in advance so they'll actually have it. Oddly enough the CVS up the street ... never have a problem. read more

It takes a good long while to get your prescription. Also, the store is not very well-organised. However, the staff is friendly. I don't have anything to say about how helpful the pharmacists are as I never really asked for advice. I wish they did something about homeless people camping outside of this location. I feel bad about the American homelessness crisis, but I don't want to be exposed to it every time I'm going to get my birth control pills. read more

I live closer to the Walgreens but still walk the extra block or two to the CVS. It's spacious, well-stocked, with a great selection and helpful salespeople. The six (?) self-check out stations mean there's rarely a line, either at the sales counters or at self-check, and so you don't have the stressed out staff you find at other locations. It's clean and well-lit, and I've purchased everything from toiletries to snacks to last-minute paper goods for a party. Rotating sales on beauty products makes prices comparable to Target, if you time it right. read more

The Cleveland Park CVS Pharmacy is totally disorganized. Do not waste your time filling prescriptions here. Several of the staff members are clueless. I have tried to fill two prescriptions here and have regretted it both times and gone elsewhere. read more

This is not my "regular" CVS but I needed an emergency antibiotic prescription before oral surgery and had it sent to this store. When I got the prescription early a.m. and needed to take it immediately, i.e., one hour before the surgery, I asked the pharmacist for a cup of water. Sorry. They don't provide water. I said I was probably not the first person to need to take a prescription drug on the spot and was annoyed that I would have to buy some. The response of the pharmacist, Mr. Elias, was "wait, let me get some water for you and I will recommend that this be done on a regular basis when necessary" and he went and got a case of small bottles of water and gave me a bottle. I hope that he is able to get the policy changed as most people use CVS as a pharmacy first and subsequently buy other products there. Bravo for his reaction and resolution of the problem. I would not hesitate to use this CVS for prescriptions. read more
