I visited the CVS at The Wharf on September 22 and 29 to grab a few items for my hotel stay. While…read morethe location is convenient, especially if you're staying nearby and need quick essentials, there are some things worth noting. Pros: * Great location for travelers and locals in need of last-minute items. * Open late and within walking distance of hotels, restaurants, and the waterfront. Cons: * The store is often busy and disorganized. Shelves are not front-faced, and items can feel scattered. * The checkout process is chaotic. While self-checkout is available, most customers avoid it, and there's usually only one cashier, which slows everything down. * Prices are high, but that's expected in tourist-heavy areas. Still, it would be nice to see more effort in store presentation and customer flow. Final Thoughts: If you need something quickly and you're in the area, this CVS will do the job. Just adjust your expectations--you'll likely wait in line, pay a bit more, and find things slightly out of place. I recommend it only because there aren't many other options nearby.

This is a convenient location on The Wharf and you never quite know the situation you're in for…read more Sometimes it's incredibly busy and crammed with people. Other times it's not. I usually find what I'm looking for here -- this recent visit I was surprised to find what I came for -- a swiffer mop. But almost every single time there's an issue with the self checkout machines. This time one machine was out of service and one was being serviced.

I don't feel safe at this pharmacy and neither should you…read more Store itself is fine. Getting a vaccine is fine. I would recommend to anyone thinking of picking up a prescription to look elsewhere. I would not fill a prescription here if it was life-saving. For those of you unfortunate enough to have experience with CVS pharmacists, you are probably very familiar with the ethically dubious practices and excuses they make their life's work, but this pharmacy decided to take it up a notch and I feel compelled to not let it go unrecognized. I asked for an update on my prescription and they told me it was illegal to do 90 days for this drug. So I decided to call and see if it could be sorted out and was again told it was illegal and my 10 year prescription history of 90 days was illegal. When I pushed back I was later told my 90 day history never happened. I was later told they didn't have it in stock. They were playing the greatest hits like a cover band. As an aside, I believe most CVS pharmacists change quantity of prescription for customers instead of doing inventory management. A conspiracy I'm sure most believe but cannot yet prove. Another seems-true-but-not-enough-evidence-yet is that they delay more for sicker or older patients to give themselves less work long-term. Anyways, back to my prescription, It's not illegal. In the 10 years, I've heard every excuse in the book these folks use to not do their jobs, but never have I been accused of criminal behavior and never have I been lied to about my own medical history. So I called my doctor's office shared some frustration and a little laugh and reached out to a lawyer to confirm I am not, in fact, the El Chapo. All this over filling a prescription I have had for 10 years. I reached out to CVS corporate - yuck - to report this behavior and got every reassurance that this is par for the course so I am writing this. Begging the public to not go to this pharmacy. CVS corporate will probably get another review since they asked me for a survey and then end the call on my first attempt. Glad to know my tax dollars are subsidizing a datacenter for automated call responses that go nowhere. OK back to my revenge. I planned to reach back out this morning since I was still upset I was lied to and still upset that I was accused of a criminal conspiracy with my doctor's office. I didn't actually think a resolution was coming this morning, I'm not an idiot. I reached back out because I wanted to inconvenience them. I wanted them to be inconvenienced the way they've inconvenienced me. I wanted them to feel the frustration my doctor's office and I had. I wanted to be a CVS pharmacist right back to them. I asked my doctor's office to send the prescription elsewhere, then reached out this pharmacy demanding an update on my prescription. I am not even in town. It's the perfect revenge. I act all upset (which like yeah, I am upset, but not upset for the delay this time, upset they lied to me), demand some answers in my message, talk about how my doctor's office and I feel wronged, give a deadline of ASAP, actually make them worried they might have to do their jobs. Now usually they would just ignore, take a 4 hour lunch, then dip, but I downloaded the CVS app and you can send messages to the pharmacy. I encourage everyone to take a moment to realize how idiotic an auto-messaging system is with no cap for spamming. Only a company as dumb as CVS would have that be an option, and I bet they even monitor response time. I was clicking "I would like a callback" whilst pouring my cereal. A pharmacist gave me a ring - different one this time. I wanted to record the call and post whatever stupid response they gave to social media and make a bunch of ~memes~ about it IYKYK. But as I have alluded to, I am not a breaker of laws. Despite this company's insistence that I am Scarface, I was well aware of my current jurisdiction that I cannot record without consent. So I asked, consent wasn't given, and I hung up. And though I can't do any super hilarious memes referencing my favorite nintendo characters, it was enough to get the wheels spinning. 30 minutes after I hung up I got an alert "your prescription is ready for pick up". Lol like I was going to pick up this prescription. Fat chance, clowns. Healthcare in this country is a train wreck. Insurance companies are the conductors and CVS Pharmacists are the ones shoveling coal into the firebox and accusing customers of being Casey Jones. I hope some of you out there who hate working with CVS pharmacies end up adopting the strategy of trying to get them to do their job only to rug-pull.
