This is the worse pharmacy EVER. Was having surgery up here at Stanford and decided the get the prescription for pain filled in the event I needed it during the recovery, I left without it. I'd rather knaw my arm off in pain then deal with these people. If you read my reviews you will see I never complain. It takes a lot to make me angry. I live 2 blocks away so Im here pretty frequently for all my general needs. People watching is fun... The staff can be super comedic at times, but , hey, they work hard. The overnight crew is just bonkers. Nothing like going to Longs after the club at 3am, and hearing rap music in the PA system. My kind of store. They are open 24/7 so that works for me, when I need to get animated on the late night, or run out of cold medication. Conveniently located. I cant ask for more. P.S. For people who complain about not being greeted, If you were making minimum wage, Would you be cheerful? Its mother-effin Longs Drugs, Not Mollie Stones. After you shop there a few times, You get to be familiar with the staff and you know who works hard and who are just lazy or have no emotional attachment to the world. Its open 24 hours a day and Thats all that matters. If your a regular, You would already know that there is no cash back after 10pm. That's standard for alot of stores open after 10, like Longs and Safeway. The next time your late on your period, Be glad to know this location is always open. I really like this CVS. The Pharmacy staff is wonderful. The cashier's are trying their best and are always friendly. They really should paint the lines in the parking lot. There is a CVS near my office, but there is always a line, usually only one cashier, and the parking sucks. read more

CVS is terrible. Longs used to be great - when CVS bought them they took out 2/3 of the selection, put in bad smelly carpet, and made all the good employees leave. What used to be one of the best drug stores is now the worst. Go to the Walgreens up the street. read more

First time at a CA pharmacy since moving here last year. With all the pharmacies available in San Mateo, I picked this randomly. Wow, what a difference from my East Coast pharmacy! Julio got me into the system in a few minutes, checked that my prescriptions were in stock, and the pharmacist had it ready in 7 minutes! Seriously efficient and wonderfully nice folks. I stayed to get some other things, and the cashier opened when they saw the line was 4 people. Highly recommend this CVS! read more

This place is awful. I have a CVS card and received a coupon in the mail. I take the coupon to CVS but can't use it because I didn't have my card with me, they can't find me by phone number either. That was a waste. The people at the registers are so unprofessional. I receive phone calls from the photo department for WEEKS after I have picked up my pictures and from the pharmacy AFTER I have picked up my prescription. I miss LONGS! read more

Bring back LONGS. Oh how I LONG for LONGS. Granted, I used to have to wait in line at Longs too...but, these folks are ridiculous. There is never anyone around to help you locate anything. The store is stark white and sterile. It is not a pleasant experience to shop here for sure. They don't even carry carbonated water. I noticed many things missing from the shelves. The folks that work here don't seem so kind. They must be dwindling away in the abyss that Jennifer L. mentioned too. This is the worst pharmacy! I drove to San Jose & back & had 2 doctors appointments & waiting to get my prescriptions has been longer than my drive! I've been waiting for over 90 minutes! This Cvs is by far the worst ever. It's old looking, dirty , and getto. Employees here sucks. No customer service and the store is trashed. Who ever is the store manager should step down you are doing a very, very , very poor job. You can tell right away from all the staff how bad and poorly they are managed and trained. Terrible. Came in to fill a prescription for my daughter, it turned out to be pretty expensive, almost $100, so I wanted to charge it on our FlexCard used to pay for medical expenses, which I used multiple times at doctors offices by just giving them the number over the phone. Well not at CVS pharmacy, they wouldn't except it because I didn't have the actual card with me. The manager did not know what he was doing, since he was asking questions of a cashier if I can come back and have it credited to my regular card and charged to FlexCard. Neither of them really knew what to do but said no just in case. Terrible customer service, no flexibility and total lack of professionalism. One star for cashier being nice and apologetic. read more

I simply needed to use the restroom and one of the pharmacy techs would not give me the code. when I asked may I use the restroom, she said go ask the front. like i know you know the code for when you gotta shit. she didn't even bother to look at me. so disrespectful and rude. she ways younger with red hair. read more

PHARMACY Every pharmacy assistant I have dealt with has been either depressed or confused or both. And slow. And for who knows what reason they make you SIGN a piece of paper for each prescription you are picking up. This isn't state law. I previously went to Walgreens for years and never had to do this. Slows everything down. Only one pharmacy register at a time is open, as opposed to 2 at Walgreens, so it is slower still if you're stuck behind a line. There's no obvious place for the line so it is awkward to figure out that you're just supposed to wait in an aisle 15 feet away. I used their website to transfer several prescriptions from Walgreens (forced by Blue Cross) and when I went to pick them up the next day they said they had not received them. I told them what they were, and they wrote them down, and then told me that I STILL needed to call in after I got home to get them transferred. Their computers couldn't deal with it. Never seen anyone in the pharmacy smile. I've had pretty pleasant experiences with the front checkout though, and their food selection is excellent. read more

!!!CHECK the expiration date of your medication!!! Two times in a row this pharmacy dispensed the prescription ointment which expired in 3 months. There was no way I can finish 3 tubes in 3 months; and this will prompt me into refilling the medication too soon. When I questioned and requested for something with a longer expiration date, the pharmacist just told me they had no control of whatever the pharmaceutical company sent them, which I believed and left. Later on, a friend of mine who is also a pharmacist told me something interesting. It is a practice to return all expiring medication (usually about 3 months from the expiration date) to the pharmaceutical companies. By dispensing the expiring medication to the customers, pharmaceutical companies must love this pharmacy. I will never return to this pharmacy! read more

I came in tonight just looking for one thing and they were out of it. So I got something else I needed but I was bummed I had to go somewhere else at 10:30 at night. So at check out the cashier (James) asked if I found everything okay and I said I couldn't find this tape I was looking for and asked if maybe they had some in the back. He said they might have some in a different place too and my fiancé said which isle? James said no don't worry about it I will find it and sure enough he found it. I was tired from a long day and so happy I didn't have to go to another store looking for this. It might seem like such a small thing to write a review about but it was a big deal to me for a few reasons. He saved me from taking longer to get home and he went above and beyond. He could've told me the other place to look but he took it upon himself to go get it for me since he knows I already looked. This is what customer service is all about and we rarely see it anymore. Seeing him make the effort to be helpful meant a lot to us and I was very appreciative to him and he was so friendly and did it all with a smile. Thank you James! read more

I have been coming here ever since it was Long's from day one. Since becoming CVS, they have some better deals and nothing much has changed; still the same great selection of everything, same great pharmacy staff with timely service, and friendly cashiers. I love printing out the coupons upon entering as you never know if something you need or want is on sale. Keep up the good work guys.! read more

Having a sick kid is already a pain. But using this Pharmacy makes it worse. My son's doctor prescribed him liquid antibiotics 3 times in the past year, but we were never given the sufficient dosage for the medication (this time the dosage is one-day short). We know antibiotics are not food or candy. You can't overdose your child or save the leftover for "rainy days". However, it is crucial to give the whole course of medicine in order to cure the infection. This time I had to make a special trip and ask for the missing dosage physically. How can this happen? read more

Worst place to get photos. I sent in a disposable camera and they take 3 weeks to return prints and a cd with the pictures. Except here they lost/misplaced my cd and the manager did not even take responsibility for the mistake. I never once heard him apologize for the inconvenience and instead he told me to call their service center and have them mail the cd to me. No guarantees that they may even still have the images. Terrible attitude towards customer service. The employees are actually polite but management doesn't care the least. read more

As soon as Longs turned into CVS the store went downhill. The selection of candy became minimal. They have a 'CVS card' so they can track your purchasing activity. In the store almost non-stop commercials blare from the public address system, always featuring a excited women's voice extolling the benefits and 'savings' available in the store, repeated over and over. It makes me want to get out of the store to avoid hearing there revolting commercials. I look forward to it going out of business and replaced with a different brand pharmacy. read more

I been to the Pharm several times and it has been great. I transfered my scrips from walgreens downtown because they stopped taking my insurance. I will not be going back even thought they started taking it again. Walgreens is close to my house but it is worth the trip to be treated professionally. read more

Beware, the World's Slowest Humans work the pharmacy here! The pharmacy staff except for one guy there seem like they'd be extremely challenged tying their shoes. The drivethrough takes FOREVER. They screw up your prescriptions on a regular basis and are not particularly friendly. Unfortunately they are the only pharmacy in the immediate neighborhood, but I would seriously consider driving a mile or two out of the way to go someplace else like Walgreens. read more
