My experience with Pharmacist Huang was so positive I can't help but leave a great review for her. I've been going to this pharmacy for a couple years now and though I don't talk to the pharmacist directly for every visit, each time I do talk to her, she's extremely helpful, kind and thoughtful. For example, today I came to pick up a few prescriptions, one wasn't covered under insurance and she offered to look for generics. Unfortunately the generic wasn't the same dosage so she kindly explained my options, spoke with my doctor, and I was able to come back later that day to get the necessary prescriptions. I wish every medical professional was as thoughtful, kind and caring. read more

I've noticed that the pharmacy sometimes provides excellent service, but there's opportunity for growth in customer service. Specifically, an associate named Christina could benefit from training on cultural sensitivity and respectful communication with all customers, regardless of age or ethnicity. Therefore, I cannot give a 5-star rating. However, the staff is outstanding service plus the only problem is they don't have enough customer service to help with the Pharmacy line and sometimes the Pharmacy is slow on getting folks medication on time read more

This CVS has earned their 2 stars for sure. First of all, no one in the pharmacy answers the phone at anytime during the day. The pharmacist Suzanne is very arrogant & refuses to speak with you at length or answer the phone. Instead she burrows herself in the back. They can have 12 or more people in line needing service, and only 1 poor person is out front dealing with customers. Worst service anywhere around. I'm really not concerned about the floors & carpets, I go there for service. Some people have misplaced priorities. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would! The have an older Latina woman named Suzanne working in the pharmacy with blue scrubs is a nightmare to run into. I just switched to this pharmacy and the first time I came I realized they have different hours than other CVS pharmacies. On weekdays they close at 7pm instead of 9 and on weekends they close at 4 instead of 5, which is weird in itself. I happened to get there at 6:58pm not even knowing the pharmacy closed earlier than normal and Suzanne turned me away. She said "we close in two mins" and I told her that "you arent closed yet and it's not like I'm here to buy ice cream! I'm here to get an inhaler that I need! As I took a deep breath so she can hear my loud wheezing lungs. She said "come back in the morning and walked off. I came back at opening and she told me to wait until she was ready to help me.. mind you I was first in line and it was operating hours. Finally she started off by saying I looked familiar and I played it off by saying I shouldn't. She said "oh yeah, you came late last night and..." I cut here off saying "I DIDNT COME LATE! You weren't closed yet and my prescription was ready for pickup! You could've gotten it done before closing but chose not to! I told her I would bet anything that this location has horrible reviews with her name in them specifically and I finally checked today, and I wasn't wrong! How funny! I went today to get another prescription and dealt with her again and she told me to go one window over to be helped by someone else while she played candy crush in her phone. Luckily a nice lady named Sharon helped me quick and was awesome. Thank god they have a Sharon there because the Suzanne's are what's wrong with this world! read more

New to CVS for about 6 mos now. Constant errors with my prescriptions that I have never had before. Duplicated prescriptions, billing/insurance confusions, and no communication when these errors cause delays. I would not use this place for anyone with serious medication needs or potential consequences from errors. read more

The store manager, not the pharmacy manager, Tom is abhorrent. I really don't know why he still has this high of a position in such a well known business. He told me that there was not a trash can in the entire store that he would allow me to use and told me I should just throw my trash away outside in the parking lot. I also overheard him in a conversation with a store employee who needed help with a problem. All he said was "you need to handle it by yourself, do not ask for my help. I cannot help you, stop bothering me" I really try to not use this pharmacy in particular if I don't have to. What an absolute nightmare read more

Been going to this CVS for a while now. Consistent good customer. I've used Photo Department all the time here it's affordable especially if you use there promo codes they have on line. I would like to say Thank you to Becky I'm not sure if she is the manager but she went the extra mile to help me out with my transaction. Thank you that kind of service deserves a 5-star especially if you expect we don't do that answers because they can't be bothered. Hire more people to service the community/ 20 people deep to pick up a prescription with some of the worst customer service ever.

Absolutely never coming back. Took me 4 tries to pick up a prescription due to very long lines and I needed to return to work. On the 3rd try I saw they have a very bad process for stopping the line when they have lunch. They wasted a bunch of people's time by sending them away after standing there for 20 mins and created a bad customer experience instead of marking the line and putting a cone or something to say last customer is X. They should have an alternate staff and many people also are only free to run errands at lunch. They have a very unhappy young male employee slamming the security sliders for the medicine so the person answering your order cannot hear you. As a result of his behavior the registers closed and I could not get my order having to return a 4th time. Lastly, closing at 6 pm has made things much worse for customers by creating a rush at traffic rush hour. I'm so upset I literally will never come here again after being a customer for 15 years. read more

Helpful staff. Came in for a passport picture. Was done in 5 mins. Very convenient when you are in a rush.

They close at 10:00 but had the front doors locked at 9:57 with two associates standing at a register telling me they were closed.

I was told i couldn't use the customer restroom because they were short staffed and no one could let me in...while he's stocking sodas.......won't be back. read more

The pharmacy staff : Just very rude to everyone that I witnessed them deal with. I watched them roll their eyes when people ask questions.

Normally, shop at the CVS in San Carlos. Was in the San Mateo area and stopped at this CVS location. Had lots of coupons to redeem before they expires since CVS always issues dozens of them. Was checking out trying to use by CVS coupons and they were not be accepted. The CVS staff turned a deaf ear to the problem and left without the purchases. Drove down (out of my way to the CVS San Carlos, repeated the purchase process, and paid with the coupons being honored and saving some money. Don't know what the problem is at the San Mateo location. Won't shop there again. read more

I came in to get some snacks and use the restroom. I asked the cashier if I could use the restroom and she said I could use the bathroom at the back corner of the store. I walked to the back until I found the restroom. Walked back out to find a Filipino man at the door stating I couldn't use the restroom. I told him the cashier said I could and pointed me to the bathroom. The rest of my group was browsing for their items. I went to pay for my snacks at self service and had my family come use the machine too. I turned around to find the same Filipino man at my back watching me check out. My sister saw him watching me and asked him why he was following our group and watching us pay and she stated that we weren't going to steal and that we had money to pay. The Filipino man noted that it was his job to watch over us. My sister asked him why he wasn't following anyone else around or doing that to the other customers and he kept arguing with her. I finished my transaction turned around and asked for his name and his manager. He said his name was JON. He stated he was in fact the manager working at CVS. I helped my family complete their transaction and walked out. After this experience I will not be returning to this location. read more

I wish I knew the name of the pharmacy consultant to call out on her rudeness and unprofessionalism. I brought back the inhaler, which I had picked up the day before by prescription, because it was faulty. The consultant took a top off and blew inside to check what was wrong with it. Second later, she handed it back to me saying it was working perfectly fine. I was in shock and requested a brand new one. She told me I could use an alcohol wipe to clean the spot where she was blowing. How is this person working for the pharmacy? Not being in a medical field, I clearly understand that this is totally unacceptable. When I insisted, she went to the back and a second later brought me "a new inhaler", rolled her eyes, and was quite rude. I doubt she gave me a new one, and I am planning to speak to a manager tomorrow. read more

I have been to several CVS stores over the years and I am a CVS Extra Care member, which is one of the better loyalty programs in my opinion. This store is better than most and although not staffed with a lot of people, gets the job done. Shelves are well organized and clean which is not a simple feat since they carry thousands of items. I needed to use the restroom, but was informed at this location it breaks down a lot, and isn't ever available. The woman at cash register was helpful. If I could give them negative stars, I would. Set very low expectations on getting your prescription filled. I had 3 separate medications sent to them on 3 different occasions and all was either not filled or I have to call and chase for it. And here is my very last experience with them...My doctor called in a prescription on Oct 21 and as of today the 27th, prescription still has not been filled. I ended up getting over the counter medications that took a bit longer for me to heal. If you are expecting your medications to be filled within a day or 2, keep dreaming and wishing. I suggest to go to the DeAnza CVS. They are a smaller store but efficient, competent and a well organized running store. read more

In addition to never finding parking (they compete with 24 Fitness for spaces) the pharmacy is the absolute worst. I used to give that honor to Walgreens but this CVS just won the prize. Scrips are never ready when they should be. There is a never-ending line. They have only one Pharmacist on duty yet this prince/princess takes a 3+ hour lunch and we, the paying customers, have to plan our lives around him/her. I don't know many people who are choosing to fill a prescription for fun. It's usually a necessity and time is usually of the essence. Too bad this store can't figure that out. As if we don't pay enough for medicine.. Although the pharmacy inside Target is a CVS, the people they employee are a different caliber. They are professional, considerate, polite and they don't take 3 hour lunches. CVS on Bovet Road will no longer get a dime from me. read more

I'm a CVS client for over a decade now and just recently moved to San Mateo, CA. I've been to CVS at Bovet St., many times. before to get my prescription and other pharmacy needs. Today, August 29, 2021, at around 6:25 pm, an employee treated me so rudely I was embarrassed publicly. I requested the use of the bathroom and in the past 3 months since I arrived here in San Mateo, all employees without exception made it possible for me to reach their bathroom in the back. Not today. When I made the request, this employee just blurted out without provocation from me, after the usual "May I use your bathroom please?" He screamed loud enough for his co-employee in the counter to hear, "We don't allow customers to use the bathroom here because it is in a secured area and there's an alarm button there..." I sad that I'm familiar with the drill and the more loudly he replied, "Well, that's not gonna happen today!" I said you don't have to be so rude, so may I speak with the manager. An d with the loudest decibel he shouted, "I'm the manager here!" So there you have it, folks! This is literally the worst pharmacy in the area. Every time I am here there is a significant wait and issues with my prescriptions. I call ahead, they tell me my prescription will be ready and it never is. The people are very nice but they are sorely understaffed and it's a real customer service issue. They need more pharmacists and more staff. I'm finding a new pharmacy as of today. I've had enough. read more

This review is for the pharmacy. I tried to get a prescription filled for an EpiPen on Sunday (because I was having a super allergic reaction and was literally struggling to breathe). Stood in line for 20+ minutes, then the person didn't want to help me and wanted to help the person AFTER me first. Sigh. I insisted she help me. She paused in the middle of helping me to help yet another person. Then told me she couldn't finish me up and I would have to wait for other technician to assist me. The other technician told me that because it was now after 5pm they could not by law, fill my prescription and I'd have to wait until Monday but that they did have EpiPens in stock. (I knew this because I had called all over town trying to locate a pharmacy that had it in stock). Fast forward to Monday. NOT READY! WTF. Thank God I had an expired EpiPen to save my own life. Tuesday end of day, I got a call saying it was ready. Wednesday I go to pick it up. They can't find the prescription I dropped off in my record nor the filled prescription! I am not even kidding. Luckily the girl who helped me this time actually had some empathy because she looked and looked until she found it. Turns out the person who didn't particularly want to help me on Sunday, couldn't even be bothered to put my name into the computer correctly! She misspelled my last name (despite having my drivers license and insurance card) and had it starting with a B instead of a G... I would have given 0-1 stars but thanks to the nice lady today, I've upped it to 2 stars. All I know, is this is why I use Walgreens! read more

I don't understand the bad reviews here. The cashiers are all very friendly and sweet (they have a hard job being on their feet all day, remember that people). Janine is always smiling and in a good mood. The pharmacy staff is also very nice and efficient, I usually interact with Christie and she is great. She was very helpful when I had to transfer a number of my prescriptions from the east coast. If I had a complaint it would be that parking is sometimes tough, but you can't blame CVS for that! Ordered photo print online (I called prior to ordering and was told if ordered online for same day pick up it will take an hour). I received an email saying order was ready to pick up but I drove to the store 2 hours later and they told me that my order was not ready. The super visor told me that the printer was out of paper and it's not his responsibility because he doesn't operate the printer!! He said "it's not me it's the machine" i drove all the way to the store and waited in line and they couldn't print my pictures because they were out of paper! read more

This pharmacy is never on time filling prescriptions, regardless of auto-renew requests - the only excuse is that they are busy. How can you always be "busy"? So frustrating to use this pharmacy and no one who works there seems to care enough to make changes. I have to call in every single month because when I check on the status of my prescriptions (all on autofill), it will indicate "In Process" for days after the fill date has passed. When I call they typically say they'll be ready that day...great, but what is the point of autofill if I still have to call every month?! read more

This is by far the slowest pharmacy I have ever been to. Need to call? Expect to wait 30+ minutes on hold. App says the Rx is ready to be picked up? Nope. Hope you have an hour to wait while they try to fix it. Need to just grab a gallon of milk? Only two check stands are ever open, if you're lucky, and there's guaranteed to be a line. No thanks. I could walk here in 5 minutes, but I'd rather drive 20 minutes away to get my Rx's, I'd be home faster. read more
