I was here recently from Los Angeles, I was looking for Rombauer Chardonnay for my friend's birthday. I was immediately approached by a sales person Diana who was so helpful and enthusiastic. I then mentioned that I was also interested in Hendrix gin and she took me to that department. While there she extolled the virtue of Glendalough wild rose Irish Gin, so I decided to give it a try in addition to Hendrix. Throughout my journey in the store there was a great selection of snacks and cheeses. It was perfect, I barely had to look at a sales person and they were quick to help. I decided to visit this location for the first time yesterday since Whole Foods is nearby. The location was a bit hard to get to because from where I was going, you needed to turn left onto Hillsdale court rather than Hillsdale Blvd. At the store, the clerks were very helpful and friendly. One lady told me what the store's favorites are from their recent tasting as well as the customer favorites. One of the recommendations was spot on. I had a few bottles in mind coming in and checked all the bottles on the Vivino app and was able to narrow down on some bottles. Great store and friendly staff! read more

Ahh I love this store!.. I must come across as an alcoholic in saying that but I'm not - honest. In fact I rarely ever drink but on the very odd occasion I do Bevmo is my one stop for everything I need. The selection is huge - Beers, Wines, Spirits, Liqueurs, Syrups, Pre made Cocktail Mix. You want it, they have it. Chances are if you can't find it here you won't find it anywhere. Staff are really friendly and acknowledge / greet each individual as they come into the store and even have security (at the weekends when I visit anyway). So anyway.. It's holiday weekend and I decided it's time to dust off my cocktail shaker and mix up some weird and wonderful concoctions for me and hubby. Aside from Malibu and various other bottles of Rum I'm out of anything I can mix to make anything remotely drinkable so head to Bevmo to stock up. I was a bit bummed to discover they had ran out of a couple of the more unusual items I was after but the staff were on hand and the supervisor on duty was great in helping me find similar alternatives and being very patient as I decided what I actually needed. About 15 minutes later I was sorted with my goodies and actually saved a few dollars too. Bonus: - Regularly have deals on wine (buy one get one for 5c!) - Often have cheaper alternatives to brand name drinks. - Staff know their drink and are happy to help. Cassandra at store #21 did an amazing job guiding us through a Tasting so we could select bottles for our wedding . We called 10 BevMos in the area (including SF where we live) and she was by far the most helpful and attentive resource we talked to, so much so that we decided to drive 40 minutes south to do the tasting with her. She helped us stay in our budget range and try wines with great bulk discounts (like their Buy one get one 5c offer) and another 15% off overall. It adds up when buying for 160 guests! Last night my wife and I had Vicolos pizza for dinner. So with the wine open, the pizza in the oven and table set we decide to have a pre-dinner cocktail. I volunteer to mix up a couple. A few minutes later my wife says "hmm, this seems a little strong how much cachaca and simple syrup did you put in these?" I made them just like she told me, two shots of cachaca and shot of simple syrup........oh wait. Maybe I may have doubled the recipe by mistake. This is a tiny store but they pack it full. Their 5 cent sales have competitors prices beat and their selection isn't bad. They usually offer a few new wineries every few weeks to keep things interesting. Full disclosure; I only come here for wine about every other month, not usually buying beer or hard liquor. I have come for gifts and they have gift bags and tags and all so they'll help you make it look pretty before leaving the store. If you're planning a party, wedding, or another big event, they are one of the best! They'll work with you on pairing and figuring our how much you'll need. This is one of the worst BevMo locations and I will avoid this store from now on. (Go to Menlo Park or Redwood City instead - it's worth the extra drive!) The staff is not helpful and has a terrible attitude. Here's one example. I walked into the store with my sunglasses on as it was a sunny day. I took off my glasses and let my eyes adjust to the store lighting and since I was not familiar with this store's location, I stopped to chat with the cashier to ask a question. There was *no one* in line. I asked her if she could please point me to where I might find wine gift bags (Yes I really did say "Please") and she actually rolled her eyes in disdain and eyed over to the door entrance. One of the worst BevMo locations I've been to in a while since this is also one of the smallest locations. The beer selection was very minimal, and they definitely cater more to the IPA, Lager, etc crowd. Not much craft beer, and nothing unique available. The workers were not very helpful and one almost ran me over with a cart full of beer, with no apology afterwards. The cashiers were also slow at ringing people up. Parking was ok since we came later on a Friday night, but are there are good amount of spots to park at. However, I will not come back to this BevMo unless I am in desperate need to pick up something quickly for a party. read more

You can expect one person to be working the register, and 2-3 employees hiding on the east side of the building behind a slightly enclosed area in the front, making sure not to make eye contact with anyone waiting in line. It pains me to write this review. I shop here all the time and I think most of the people here are great. However, ratings are based on individual experience. This one is a systemic problem. So, BevMo, if you are listening, here is goes: I bought a bottle of Bourbon a few weeks ago. Realized I didn't want it. I misplaced the receipt. I walk into the store and Valerie is assigned to help. Me: "I bought this a few weeks ago. Receipt is missing" Valerie: "Sorry, can't do much without a receipt" Me: "I get it. However, I scanned my loyalty card when I made that purchase. Surely your computer can tell I bought this bottle" Valerie: "Our computers don't show that" Me: "I understand. Looks like I am out of options ..." Valerie: "If I recognized you, I could do this" Me: (Incredulous) "Really, meaning if you could recognize my face you would do this?" Valerie: "Yes. but since I don't know if you shop here, I won't do this" Me: "So what you are saying is that you have discretionary powers here that you are choosing not to exercise just because I don't shop here 5 days a week?" Valery: "Pretty much" Now, BevMo, do I need to spell out how wrong this is on so many levels. What I find truly reprehensible is that Valerie is having to play favorites with customers based on whose faces she remembers on a given day. For my part, I am happy not being too regular at a liquor store. Next time when I am shopping. I'll be thinking twice before entering what used to be my go to store. What can I really say about a Beverages and More? You walk in and from floor to ceiling you have hundreds of choices for vodka, wine, beer and so many more alcoholic beverage selections at pretty good prices. I haven't had a bad experience with any of the staff here, they are always willing to help. And I like how I don't even need to ask - they see that distressed look on my face like I'm lost and their right there to help me find what I'm looking for and I always find what I'm looking for here. read more

Go to Redwood City or San Bruno or Santa Clara or Mountain View or Milpitas.... Any of those would be worth the trip. Beer selection here is mediocre compared to any of the aforementioned BevMo's, and 90% of the time at least 1 item I'm shopping for is out of stock. On multiple occasions I have asked if there's more in the back and gotten "everything we have is on the shelf". With shelves that only hold 5 bottles, they run out of stock real quick. read more

The store manager, Carlos, personally delivered all the drinks, tubs, and ice in his car, and stayed to ice all the drinks for us. This BevMo has always been my go-to store in San Mateo. It's reasonably stocked with a large selection of wine, beer, and liquor at prices cheaper than most competitors. I've never seen it get busy or had trouble at the check-out stations. There are wine tastings advertised here but I've personally never tried it. The only downside about this location is that it's off in an odd corner and getting to it initially was not intuitive. Getting back out on the main road can be tricky especially during peak traffic hours since it's right near the Hillsdale overpass, so I'd avoid coming here during those times. read more

We usually shop at this Bevmo but may rethink it after shopping over the weekend. Being carded and having to take my ID out of my wallet at 55 years old is just a poor business strategy. As I explained this is exactly why I won't buy beer or wine at Target. To take it one step further they also required seeing the ID of the person with me who is in their mid forties. This location is sooo bad. It's on a... semi-residential, right by the freeway road. The one thing that combats this scary location is it has most of the stuff that I need to get; Torani syrups, vino, midori... and ingredients for car bombs. Whenever I think of different alcohols I may need to make cocktails I always think of heading to bevmo's first before thinking of heading to a grocery store. It's just so easy. read more

Stepped in here to check to see if they carried Ardbeg (which they carry sometimes but it's rarer than not) and unfortunately they didn't have any. Good location to pickup my SNAKE bite drink. Sucks they only sell them in four packs though. I always try to stop by here if I'm in the area cause they don't sell it in the South Bay. Came into here the other night with my Halloween costume and got some friendly laughs from the workers while looking for the BITE. I'd give them four stars cause they were NEVER out of the snake bite. I remember the first time I came in I bought all the cold bottles they had, LOL. Great service! I've been using their shop-on-line and pick-up-in-store service since Covid. They are always prompt, very safe, very courteous. I typically go to this BevMo before or after grocery shopping at the nearby Whole Foods. It's not the best liquor store but the prices and selection are decent, the employees are nice and somewhat knowledgeable, and, um, it smells nice in there. Plus, they've got their regular 5-cent sale on wines, which is a terrific way to discover new wines. I mean, how can you really know whether or not you like a wine after just one bottle?
