With San Marcos continously growing, it was necessary for this CVS to make a few changes. It still provides all the things you'd expect at reasonable prices. Yes, you'll get the usual dozen coupons that you most likely won't redeem but it's good to know they offer it. Staff is friendly and the lot is never full. I'm sorry I have to post a negative review because I purchased 2 $100 Amazon Gift Cards for a friend. My friend tried to redeem them and it was not accepted. Later I learned that there's a scam on Amazon Gift Cards (learned this from Google) and will not ever try to purchase Gift cards from CVS Pharmacy again. I felt cheated that I spent $200 and nothing to show for it. I will not make this an issue because I know most of the employees that work there. I don't want to cause a problem either. So it's my loss I have to account for. I do depend on medications I need from the pharmacy and toiletries to keep myself groomed. read more

I love cvs and and it's my go to store cause of their deals with coupons . However , the customer service by the lady with long black hair and ponytail has such a bipolar attitude every time I go before 12pm , I ether get a fake nice attitude or she's plain rude . She answers my question like I'm dumb and today I was having a problem with self check out , I wanted to make sure my payment went through cause I didn't wanna walk out the store without paying , I asked for assistance by pushing button on screen , she was huffing and puffing and shoved out receipt from machine , I said " I'm not trying to make your job harder I just want to make sure I don't walk out of store without payment going through ", she replied " well you are because you don't click this ..." DON'T use this pharmacy. Sadly, the retail staff are very nice. This pharmacy is TERRIBLE. Refills are NEVER ready and then lie EVERY time about contacting doctors. They loudly violate my privacy. Why didn't you call or text me, I ask? They send you to vm to avoid questions. They do not care about people. No responsibility for major mistakes. This pharmacy drove me to Kaiser for a decade. I came back for 4 months this year. They are worse. Stick to Halloween candy, toothpaste and Christmas paper here. Chat with the sweet staff up front. I guess if you don't mind cashiers cursing while they are at the register and talking you might be okay coming here. During my last two visits to this store, I've heard two of the young male cashiers curse while working at the register. One of those incidents just happened tonight while the young male cashier was talking to the other customers who also appear to be his age. Maybe it's a way to be cool...I don't know. I feel like the manager might be okay with this kind of service as this has already happened twice during my visits to this CVS store. I'm not so much against using profanity, but when you are on the clock at work, you should keep it professional! And especially if you're in front of customers! Was the first time visiting this locations as I was on a quest to find some duke cannon shaving lotions for my thick luscious beard , it was a Saturday evening around 7pm me and my Buddy walk in and it's busy, tons of women in the make up section , we weren't even in there for 5 minutes when the old husky woman on the cash register starts yelling at us from across the store with an attitude I may add , and starts asking why we where walking around the isles looking lost, horrible employee made us feel like were were criminals , was it because my friend was dare I say black? They literally force you to use the self check out and their machines suck! The employees have to press a button every 5 seconds to keep it from messing up. Wouldn't it just be easier to use the normal register? Idk what the deal is. Obviously part of the new world order where they want to get rid of all employee and have machienes take over. Stuff is way overpriced here. Makeup especially. For 5 dollars more, you can be getting designer brands from Sephora. However, I am giving them a good review because of the excellent customer service I received at the pharmacy. Went to go pick up a prescription because I have strep throat. The pharmacist informed me that the type of pill my doctor prescribed would cost 160 dollars for the whole bottle! Fortunately, she said that there was an alternative kind of pill that was made of the same ingredients, but was simply smaller. Instead of taking two pills a day, I would have to take six, but the cost was reduced to 20 bucks. Thanks for looking out for me, CVS lady! read more

This CVS is a bit smaller than some of the other ones I've been to. I love splurging on health and beauty products at CVS so it always keeps me coming back. From make-up, facial moisturizers, lotions, hair products, and toothpastes I always stock up. The cashiers here are nice, not too long of a wait whenever I come by. While perusing the shelves for better deals I always end up here longer than I should be... with extra goodies I should probably put back. read more

I really like this CVS for its great staff. The lady who works the cash register is always so friendly and remembers my husband and I whenever we come in. When we haven't been in for a while, she lets us know. For some reason it reminds me of being back East, where you get to know the folks that work in your neighborhood. Another time I overheard a senior employee training a junior employee. She didn't know I was eavesdropping, but I could hear her talking about how important it is to keep the store looking clean and organized and to always be friendly and helpful to customers. She earned points from me that day. The only negative experience I had was sending my 1 hour photos over. When I received them back, most were smeared with black goop from the printer rollers and were ruined. I meant to bring them back to be replaced but I got busy and never returned. read more

This is my local pharmacy and I usually get good service. However this time when speaking to the pharmacist or pharmacy assistant by phone, she was less than polite. Her answers were very terse and only offered single word answers. Not very helpful. She may be having a bad day which I get but believe me, chances are patients might be having a bad day too! Why else would they be calling for a prescription? Seriously though, you have a choice in your job. If you don't like it, quit. It you do like it but you're having a bad day, don't take it out on the customer. read more

What happened to this CVS? This has always been my go-to pharmacy, but lately they've been slacking. I know they're really busy, but it takes one second out of your time to greet someone, you don't wait 10 minutes to tell someone you'll be right there with them. Then they rush you after they finally attend you, they no longer do consultations for new medications, just basically hand you your prescription, make you sign then walk away. I really hope they up their customer service game because they're really close to losing a long time customer. read more

The nice young lady with the red hair asked me to leave my backpack at the front of the store. I'm thinking "Okay, they have never asked me to do this before, it must be new policy, being next to Palomar College I guess that is understandable." However, I was kinda insulted when the next 2 people with backpacks just walk in with no annoying comments by my big red headed friend. The only reason for this five star review is for a girl who works there mostly nights and makes me feel like I am a really appreciated customer every single time I leave. She is pretty with glasses and very petite and always , no matter how horrible my day is ( which is pretty frequent) , strikes up a conversation while doing alot of multitasking at the same time and turns my day or night into a positive one. read more

2 Stars because they are convenient and carry a bit of everything when you don't feel like dragging yourself to the grocery store. Unfortunately there is never more than one checker here. Stay away from the Pharmacy! Staff is poorly trained. They gave my wife someone else's medicine (which she found out after she took the first pill). She was breastfeeding at the time, so she had to pump and dump (you never want to do that unnecessarily.). They can never describe the medicine they give you, and do not seem to understand how to properly input your insurance information into the computer. Generic medicine is cheap for a reason (hint). I only go here if I need a prescription after hours. As far as the store clerks, they are very friendly and always have a smile. But since their pharmacy is so bad, I can only give one star. read more

The employees who work in this store work very hard, excluding the pharmacy. I have been at this store numerous times and the pharmacy closes early. That is, 15 minutes before the time they are supposed to. These aren't pies they are selling, they are people's prescriptions. My husband was in an accident on a Saturday and i went to pick up his perscription sent from the er dr. and because it was a Saturday, I guess the pharmacists had hot dates because they left early. We couldn't get our perscription back from the pharmacy to get it filled somewhere else either. So needless to say it was a very long evening for my husband. But, I have also witnessed on other occasions when customers were upset because the pharmacy was not open and it was not the time they were supposed to close yet We will never get our perscriptions filled there again. And they are a block away from our home. read more

i go up to drop off my perscription. the guy asks for my medi-cal. i told him that no one ever asks for it and i didnt have it on me and if there was a way he could look it up on his computer. he checks. cant find it. i went to the destist yesterday so i know i have one. i soend an extra 10 minutes calling my dentist and waiting to get a couple numbers. i give it to the guy he finds it. either he is new or he is not experienced. either way i am annoyed but remain calm a few things happened in that short amount of time that would have tested anyone elses patience: i ask him a basic first aid question since my dentist cut me. he tells me to talk to the pharmacist. i also asked him another question to which he says automatically, as though a robot- "hold on just a minute". he didnt even remember and i was ready to go so i didnt bring it up again. talk about feeling awkward about being a customer.. he cant talk and press some numbers in? either new or not experienced. AND TO TOP ALL THAT OFF (if you think thats not enough) i asked to come in after class- that is a 2 hour window for them.. maybe 2.5 including the walking from campus.. i walk in ready "oh give them a few more minutes to get that ready" (or however he said, i do t remember verbatum) so i wait ten minutes more The lady gives me my pills and doesnt even tell me what to do. she doesnt know if im a crackhead or just a moron. either way, im smart enough to read the paper tbey gave me. and this wasnt advil. its norco and amoxicillan. if you dont enjoy your job, quit and let someone who will do their job, and smile, take your place. or me, because none of that seemed difficult at all. end. employees need to remember that we dont know what they know, we are like newborns. we have questions, we get confused, and we are more worried about getti g screwed over in some way. the dentist charged 2000 for one root canal and i know they are getting well over a normal profit back. and i bet the immigrants and people on welfare paid around 700 to none. i can barely make rent and im considering some desperate things. but then i remember i cant win in life if i cheat. so employees, doctors, people we go to for help at our local markets. just smile TREAT EACH CUSTOMER LIKE A NEW CUSTOMER SO THEY WILL RETURN AND IN TURN, YOU KEEP YOUR JOB AND CONTINUE MAKING MONEY BECAUSE WE WILL CONTINUE SUPPORTING THE BUSINESS BECAUSE.. I was in pain on my ear infection. I went into get the medication; two of Pharmcy was put me on hold for 30 minutes because they have finish conversation. I waited but the pain radiated from head to my nack; I went back to ask them could you please hurry because I in very pain on ear inflection. These two lady were laugh at me and said" we have lots of pepole infront of you; you come back ten to fifteen minutes." 8:45pm there were not much people left over there; I did run into hypothermia and deep pain. Still they service were very poor and not much of help.9:13pm, they got me a medication with no bag. I was asking them to help me open the medication. One of spansh girl gave a hate looking like I was hit on her. So many paper and medication; they event would not gave me a bag to hold it.
