Pharmacist "Do" could care less. Very poor customer service. Another CVS pharmacy transferred two prescriptions. I arrived about 60 minutes after it was called in. When I arrived I waited in a longer than normal line to get service. When it was my turn I was told only one of the 2 prescriptions was filled. They had no record of the second one. The clerk transferred me to the pharmacist who searched further on the computer and found it. He said it was "lost in the system". It needed to be filled. I said ok I'll be patient. Then he said come back in 40 minutes because he was closing the pharmacy for lunch. I said I have perishables inside the car and it's 98 degrees outside. He said "I'm sorry, come back in 40 minutes." Now you would think if this was my fault or I arrived just at lunch time to have a prescription filled I could understand waiting around. But it wasn't my fault. You would think he would have taken 5 minutes to fill the lost prescription rather making me wait 40+ minutes with perishables inside the car. Very poor customer service. read more

I scheduled a vaccine appointment for 8:30 AM. I picked this early hour to avoid a long wait. I arrived at 8:20, and promptly checked in at the counter. The tech got me checked in, got the meds out of the cooler and notified the Pharmacist, and instructed me to take a seat. While waiting only 2 people approached the counter. At 8:45 I informed the person who had checked me in, an asked how much longer. She spoke with the pharmacist in form it would be about 10 more minutes before he could do my injection. I informed that I would not continue to wait, and would get my vaccination elsewhere. They require an appointment to receive a vaccination, but then expect you to wait indefinitely after arriving early. read more

It really sucks that the rite-aid across the street from here is closing, because THIS PLACE SUCKS!!! Horrible Horrible Horrible place! In the past 3 months my wife and I both have had nothing but problems with this place. Incompetent staff have messed up my prescriptions 3 different times; had to argue with some dumb-ass, minimum wage blond chic when the duration of my prescription was changed by DR from 2 weeks to 4, she kept telling me I needed to get some special waiver because new RX exceeded the maximum dose and she WOULD NOT LISTEN TO MY EXPLANATION, had to call my damn DR office and get them to contact head pharmacist. TWICE THESE IDIOTS HAVE TOLD ME MY RX IS READY FOR PICK-UP, only to get down there and be told I had to come back the next day. The second time I even pointed out that just last month I was turned away because it hadn't been 28 days yet, was she sure it was ready? Lady said yes come down I get there and AGAIN WITH THE B.S. "oh we're sorry you'll have to come back tomorrow" and this was at 8:45pm- surely after your mix up last month you can give me my RX 3 HOURS EARLY, RIGHT? After I specifically called to double check and was told to come get it? Nope, it's like they enjoy flexing their little minimum wage power and annoying people. And when my son was going camping and we specifically asked his DR. to call down and authorize the early pickup, OF COURSE THEY SCREWED IT UP and it took 3 more calls and 2 more trips down there. Unbelievable. And because they SUCK SO DAMN BAD the Walgreens across the street is crowded and too busy. There's a pharmacy in the Safeway next door. We finally switched to a different pharmacy a couple MILES out of the way and between the CVS on placer inside Shasta Community Health and the Safeway on pine, we're doing alright read more

I really love this pharmacy. Well their phone service is horrible. The automated part that is. When you get a hold of somebody it's great. The employees have nothing to do with that and it's too bad their company sucks at it. But the hard-working people get your pharmacies in and out as fast as they can. With everything that's going on in the world we're lucky to have them. I've reported many times to the corporation about how bad the automated system is. But there's nothing the local people can do. The girls inside work really hard. Please don't give them too bad of a time because there's nothing they can do and if they could they would have done it by now. I am 70 years old and this is the worst pharmacy I have ever been in. My doctor had to call my pain medication early because I had a abscess tooth. I have try for 4 days trying to get this medication. Every time I call them they give me some excuse why they can't fill . My doctor even called them and the recording said they were going to fill it and they change their mind. Just be careful when using this location for MoneyGram service. I sent a wire transfer at this location. When the receiver tried to pick up the funds, they were unable to do so. MoneyGram was called; they stated that the wire was incomplete and the store needed to complete the transfer. I first called. Was brushed off by the little guy who stated he was the manager. When I marched back into the location and the clerk saw me, she called the manager. The manager and I walked over to another kiosk to check on the matter. All of a sudden, as i'm with the manager, I get the text alert that the money is available. The clerk thought she was slick and only submitted the wire when it was evident that I would be a thorn in their side :). read more

My other pharmacy called them and held for 15 minutes. When I called back to make sure they received the prescription I help for 35 minutes to be disconnected. Terrible service. Without asking your permission they refill prescriptions you no longer need and then they incessantly text or call you to tell you it is refilled. I can never reach them by phone and after several tries I had to call their corporate headquarters to stop them. Some time ago a doctor sent in a new prescription and CVS refilled a very old, different one instead. They claimed my current doctor prescribed it so I called him and he said he did no such thing. If your doctor prescribes something, be sure to have him write it down and then take that with you to CVS. Compare it to the prescription they hand you before paying for it and especially before using it. Or better yet, go to a more professional pharmacy. read more

Chris and Ashley (I think thats her name) are two employees that have done an exceptional job. Their customer service is top notch. I really appreciate just how far these employees have gone to save me money and time. All of the pharmacy employees in fact. Sometimes they have made mistakes or I have been kept waiting for a long time, but they do try their best. I was a huge fan of CVS, having my prescriptions filled at the Bay Area Stores for years. I had a surgery for a work related injury at UCSF in San Francisco, and the CVS Pharmacy refused to fill the prescription because it was from an "out of town" Doctor. Sorry CVS, but no one in Redding does this type of Surgery. I spoke with the Pharmacist and the corporate office, and unfortunately they decided to stick to their guns. I was disappointed, but had to move my Rx to a different Pharmacy. If CVS does not find the University of California in San Francisco as a reputable writer of a prescription, they must have a very skewed view on the world, or just a plain stupid policy. I will try them again in the future, hopefully they will change some insane policies and keep good customers. read more

CVS gave me a refill of a very old prescription from a doctor I no longer go to, instead of the new prescription my present doctor called in. They insisted that my current doctor called in the refill prescription. I called her on the spot and she said she did no such thing. Then they tried to make me pay for 90 days of the prescription, instead of the 30 day amount my doctor prescribed. They said my insurance company will only let them give 90 days worth. Another lie. Finally I got them to give me the correct prescription and correct amount. Do not go to this CVS. They will argue with you, and deny they did any wrong. If you insist on going there, then have your doctor write down the type of medication you have been prescribed, and the amount, BEFORE you pay CVS for the prescription. Cross reference it with what CVS hands you. This will protect you from taking the wrong meds and suffering the results. read more

This location was the worst experience i've ever had at a CVS. My friends and I were peacefully shopping for Redding souvineers. Once we found what we were looking for, we respectfully went to the cashier. CLAYTON, a team member, was incredibly rude and by the end of our interaction i feared for my safety. I asked a question about an advertised discount for when a merchandise pricing error is made and he said "i don't have anymore time for your games kid" and then proceeded to THROW my receipt at me and walk away. When I asked him why he did that he turned around and said "GET OUT. GET OUT. GET OUT YOU CHILD!" When I responded what the f*** dude he said "GET OUT AND DONT COME BACK." Then I asked him his name and he aggressively walks towards me shoving his name tag towards my face and said " MY NAME IS CLAYTON, get out and never come back you child." I immediately left and called the store manager and im waiting for a call back. but this will keep me from ever shopping at a CVS again. If you have children, AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COSTS, because he seems to have spent up aggression towards children and might throw their receipt at them too. I was afraid if I stayed any longer he would've have showed physical aggression towards me. Ruined my whole experience of Redding as a whole, and before I loved this city. They should promote Wendy who helps every one efficiently and over comes many of the.obstacles the rest of the staff puts in place. The CVS in Sacramento that I went to for years was absolutely fantastic so I know they can get it together. Already been in line for 30 mintutes and there are still 7 of the 10 in line when I got here. Without Wendy we are all likely to.be here all night. This happens every time I am here . I realize they are SEVERELY understaffed, but they are the only pharmacy whose people try/bendover backwards to help. Versus Walmart whose people couldn't care less, and Walgreens with their little power mad "head" parmacist, these folks are dandy. YES, you do have to wait many times, but some price to pay to know your medication will be right, and that they'll do what they can to save you money. If there are two people in line, and four staff behind the counter, the wait time is twenty to forty minutes, or longer. 60 Minutes could do an investigation into this company and maybe pull the curtain back in their practices. CVS just called and used the tired worn-out line of needing prior authorization again, also known as the "you will not get the meds your DOCTOR has prescribed for you because we are going to hold up this script." Three times now I have had my doctor fill a monthly prescription only to have cvs not answer their phone ALL DAY then lie and say they didn't get the prescription request when in actuality they did get the request but they did not have the supply in stock to fill the prescription. Every time I have to go round and round with the medical assistant at my doctors office trying to figure out what happened and end up missing a few days of medication. And every time the issue is the poor communication and mismanagement at this store. Realistically if a request is made that you cannot fill you should alert your patient or at least answer your phone so I don't have to wait until I'm off of work and my doctors office is closed before being able to get down to your store just to find out I will have to speak to my doctor to get the prescription reordered elsewhere the following business day. Messing with peoples medication and making them miss doses because of you negligence is a lawsuit waiting to happen. read more

This has to be the slowest CVS Pharmacy in CA!! They almost always have at least 6-8 people in line but only ONE cashier! And they don't seem a bit bothered by it . I pick up my prescription every month and I always call it in a few days ahead. Since January it has not been ready ever. I have complained a few times but it does no good. There are often more than 10 people in line. I have to wait in line once to check on it and they tell me it's not ready (even though they had 3-4 days) so I leave and come back later and have to stand behind 10 people again!
