It can get a little hectic in here at times... so not my favorite location besides the convenience factor being inside of the mall. They do have everything you need but the prices are high... It is that time when the flu vaccine program is initiated again at my workplace. All employees must receive a flu vaccine unless there is a medical or religious exemption. When I received the notification about getting the flu vaccine, I didn't think twice about getting the vaccine at my local CVS. I've previously gotten vaccines here before and always had a great experience. I scheduled the flu vaccine appointment on CVS's website. It was very easy to use and there were plenty of dates and times available. I received a confirmation email after scheduling and a few reminders as well about the appointment. On the day of the appointment, I received another reminder and a link to check in when I arrive at CVS. I checked in and I went to the pharmacy counter to inform them I was here for my flu vaccine. I took a seat and waited about 10 minutes till Gary introduced himself and bought me to the vaccination area. It was a quick process. Other times I had gotten vaccines, the employees would give me vaccine information statements and close the door. This time that didn't happen. CVS emailed me later that a new vaccination record is on my health dashboard. I submitted a copy of the record to my workplace and I have completed the requirement. No problems at all and such an easy process. I would recommend CVS Pharmacy to a friend or family member. read more

This is a very complete CVS. Being right downtown by the mall, it's convenient for those living in the city or visitors.. You can get ice cream, frozen meals, stuff for your pets, gift cards, drugstore items, beauty products and much more. It's great when you sign up for their rewards and get a 40% off coupon (to be used on regular items only...no sale items). The staff is very pleasant and very prompt. If you are driving, there's 2 hour free parking in the mall garage. If you are walking, it's located in the intersection where you can find the Courtyard, the GTech building (not Gray Technologies), Fidelity Investments and the Mall. read more

It's a CVS..... They have very wide aisles, everything you need, good bottled water selection (important for me while traveling, especially since the tap water in Providence seems really chlorinated) and pretty quick check out. Not sure why Yelp originally directed us to a smaller CVS that was considerably farther away. Ultimately, we were happy that we found our way here. read more

***This CVS is tucked away at the end of a Downtown Providence mall, which makes it convenient if you are staying at one of the nearby hotels though it is quite a walk from the main stores in the mall; this is a mostly okay CVS though it is kind of drab and there are no Rhode Island or Providence magnets sold here*** The mall parking structure requires a fee; I am not sure if this pharmacy has any other parking options. read more

This CVS is very conveniently located near the mall, convention center, Westin, and many apartment complexes. It is always very well stocked and organized. The staff are very friendly, but sometimes a little too friendly with each other. During one visit my husband and I were convinced we'd all be better off if two people spent some time together in the break room and let us avoid seeing their foreplay. On weekends you also get a pretty steady stream of high schoolers and people from convention center events. People watching comes free with that shampoo you're buying. That said, staff have always been very helpful. I went in there asking for shoelaces one day (I know what you're thinking... shoelaces?) and a woman showed me exactly where they were and apologized for their meager selection (even though I was ecstatic that CVS even carries shoelaces!). Service at the pharmacy can be slow. Most weekends they only have one pharmacist working (who is a bit of a character) and lines can be long. Or, even if there is no line, if you catch the pharmacist while he is calling an insurance company you could be waiting a while. read more

Racial profiling is real. Wow. A few friends and I were shopping at Providence Place and before we left the mall we decided to go to CVS downstairs because a few of the ladies wanted to re-up on their basic makeup supplies. We walk in and disburse to various areas. I made my purchase and went to find the rest of the gang. I found them all on the cosmetics aisle, each stuck in their own personal dilemmas about which lipstick color would look best on them. Since I don't wear makeup, I just stood there like -_- The debates went on for about 10-15 minutes, as they each compared colors with the other and gave each other feedback. As this was happening, a store employee--a white female, of about 21-31 years, thin, light brown hair just past her ears, glasses--comes onto the cosmetic aisle, where we were, and began fumbling with various items on a shelf-- the whole time with a glaring gaze fixed in our direction. Since I wasn't in on the debate, I couldn't help but notice her or the stare down she was giving. She left the aisle just as soon as she came. Then, all of a sudden, she's on the overhead speaker and says "Security to Cosmetics please. Security to cosmetics." We were the only ones in the cosmetics aisle, so of course we're like, TF? Mostly everyone stopped talking and started exchanging confused stares. (It's worth noting that we are all black, except for one who is Asian, and we're all law students of high moral fiber.) After the announcement on the overhead, she reappeared on the cosmetic aisle with a cart. She setup at the end of the aisle and continued staring us down as she haphazardly fumbled with various items on the cart. One of my friends (oblivious to the full realities of what just happened) approached her and asked her a question about one of the lipsticks she was deciding between. She and the clerk exchanged a few words (words which I couldn't completely make out because by this time I'd wandered to the opposite end of the cosmetics aisle to postup until they were through, but I could tell they were having a conversation nonetheless). They ended their conversation, she returned to the rest of the gang and they resumed their respective debates with themselves. A couple minutes go by and the clerk says "Don't open the lipstick, they're closed for a reason. I just had a discussion with her [referring to the friend that approached her] about not opening the products. They're closed for a reason." Given the totality of the circumstances, I was flabbergasted by the condescending tone she used; so much so that I was speechless (extremely rare). Had I not been functioning on 2 hrs of sleep the night before, I would've definitely given her a talking to for the condescending, unprofessional tone she used towards us. But, I was too tired and had no energy to spar with her. Anyway, my friends all returned to their respective debates, because by this time I presume we'd all reached the same conclusion about her: she was put off by black women, especially in numbers, and our presence was making her extremely uncomfortable. She literally looked like she was trembling with anger as a result of our being there in the store. I have never, ever, seen or experienced anything like it in my life, in real life. I mean, you hear about this kind of thing occurring in the southern states, and you see it in movies, but you're never ready when it happens to you in real life. I wasn't. My friends continued for about 10 minutes more; the clerk there the entire duration. We eventually found our way to the cashier, everyone paid for their items and we left. STORE MANAGEMENT: You need to fix this, fast. This is 2015, and if you're hiring employees who are intolerant and racist, you're setting yourself and CVS up for failure. The CVS at the Providence Place Mall is Lesson 101on how to piss off and alienate customers. Only one person at the register and a line of about 10 - 12 customers with more lining up by the minute. Ask them to open another register and you mind as well be talking to a wall because they don't care. "I'm the only one here.", said the cashier, "And the Manager is in the back." Well, I saw the Manager's name on the wall, Jennifer I think - Jennifer needs to stop hanging out in the back and start dealing with her upset customers instead of being invisible. "Manager says we don't need anyone else because no one ever comes in at night." Are you kidding me? The CVS had a lot of people, but they don't care. Avoid this place and take your business elsewhere. read more

The "nice" CVS in Providence. It's large for a CVS, and always clean and well stocked. The employees in this location are very polite. They greet customers at the door and ask if you need help finding anything while you're shopping. One of my doctor's offices only does electronic prescriptions and accidentally sent the wrong one to the pharmacy here. The pharmacist went out of his way to help me. He called my doctor and got it fixed quickly. read more

If I could have made my point with a lower star rating I would have given them a negative five. I have been using CVS for my prescription for sometime. The store I use mostly is in Charlestown Rhode Island, and the people are great, helpful and very nice. But the Corporate Policy they have is not. My health insurance, (United Health Care), company has a negotiated payment for one of my prescriptions for about $30.00 which includes my copay. However, on occasion my pre-approval runs out and the health insurance will not cover it until I get an updated pre-approval. CVS THEN CHARGES ME SIX TIME WHAT THEY EXCEPT FROM UHC insurance, $180.00. So I have moved my prescriptions to a privately owned pharmacy and they charge me the $30.00, the same amount UHC gets paid. Why would CVS gouge an individual, an elderly person like myself. There profits remain intact when they pay my insurance only $30.00 why must they charge me $180.00. They are acting like the pharmaceutical and charging what they want, price gouging and are politicians let this go on?? Why is there no regulation when it comes to the health of the people??? This is perhaps the most despicable pharmacy I have ever encountered. The pharmacists at this cvs location lack empathy, professionalism and kindness. There is not enough room for me in one review to share the issues I've had with this location over the course of the past 2 years, but today is irredeemable. I had been attempting to call the pharmacy over the past two days and wasn't able to get through. My time on hold totaled at over 30 minutes. When I finally gave up and went to the pharmacy today to speak to them in person, while waiting to be helped I witnessed the pharmacist complain about the phone ringing and say to her assistant "the phone is my last priority today. You know what? I'm just gonna unplug it." And she unplugged the phone and completely ignored it as it continued to notify her that a customer was waiting to speak with a pharmacist. I've never witnessed a more ignorant response to a customer in need EVER, and I will certainly not be returning to any CVS to refill future prescriptions of mine. read more

By far the largest CVS stores here in the Providence area. This CVS is at the street level of the Providence Place mall. We were coming here to get treats before our movie and yes they are significantly cheaper than any other sweets/drinks you might find in the mall itself and it's a quick elevator ride outside. They have a large selection of, well, everything and a fully stocked snack, drink, OTC medical area with quick check out service. I found people to do their job well and not necessarily over the top nice but nothing insulting. The unfortunate thing is that you either have to park within the mall to get here which is a minimum of $2 or you have to walk over from downtown. If you're already in the area and dropping by then no biggie but parking downtown can be a real pain. It's a nice convenient location during Waterfire however as you can pick up a few things before you spend the night looking at burning wood. read more

My mother and I came for the day from NYC to visit my son and see a show.we checked into Omni then went to CVS just to look around. I carried one bag with me from hotel. Very helpful and friendly workers. Mackenzie and I believe the other girl was Jasmine. Very polite and respectful. When we got back to hotel I realized I was missing my red tote bag. My heart sank. I had my son's passport birth certificate in there. I we ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant. I thought maybe I left it there. I left my mom at hotel and ran back to CVS like a crazy lady. As soon as I saw Mackenzie I asked her about the bag. I believe Jasmine knew about it too. Thankfully, Mackenzie pulled it from behind the counter. I was almost in tears. I am so thankful for these workers. Please know and appreciate that you have honest and trusting woman working hard for you and looking out for customers. Thank you so much again. I had a bad experiance twice. #1 they lost a camera roll of my, and #2 a cashier had some no experiance in knowing that customers come first, she didn't want to refund some of these photos i didn't want, and what kind of customer service is that, one of the managers she asked if she could give me a refund said that she could, so finally she did, i would have lost some money that day, well the store is decent to shop at, since there are big lines at checkout. read more
