Had a couple time critical prescriptions electronically submitted by my doctor at 4:30 today. I stopped by to ask how long it would be a little after 5 because, let's be honest, there was no way it was going to be ready by 5:15. They tell me 2 hours. They looked busy but fully staffed. Fair. So I went home, had dinner, did some chores and more than 2 hours later called the pharmacy....6 TIMES. Each time I had to go through the stupid voice prompts and when I FINALLY got to the hold option the call disconnected. SIX TIMES. So I called the CVS store and opted for the store manager option. Rang about 25 times until a clerk picked up. He apologized and said he had only been there 2 weeks but he'd be happy to go back and check on it personally. That person, Joshua (?), deserves a raise. He called me right back and said they told him the prescriptions would be ready....IN THE MORNING. They aren't closing for another 2 HOURS and they can't fill two prescriptions? I asked to be transferred back to talk to them, which he did. An upstanding employee! However, after over 5 minutes of listening to the same recorded message I finally gave up. I will be standing at the door when they open tomorrow and if it's not ready I'm going to ask for the prescription back so I can take it elsewhere, where all my other prescriptions will go after today....WEGMANS. This pharmacy is HORRIBLE. NEVER go there. You'll waste a lot of your time for nothing. read more

Hate to chime in, but I would like to post this warning -- I had a similar experience as others where I am told my prescription cost is over $200! When I explain that I've never had to pay that much before, they tell me that they checked the insurance and the amount is my out of pocket expense. Something is seriously wrong because I left that prescription there. Then today I get a text message on my phone "your prescription will be returned to the shelf in 8 days if you don't come pick it up" and guess what the price in the text? Only $9!!" I can only assume that someone is "on the take." Use Walgreens in Odenton if you need somewhere close, but they are much more professional at the CVS in Beltsville, MD where I've never had a problem. read more

Knowing my script runs out today, I called CVS yesterday to confirm it would be ready today (my dr had called in the refill 3 days ago). I was told yes, but call first thing in the AM to confirm. So, today I tried to call when they first opened to confirm. I spent THREE HOURS on hold in total (3 separate calls) and no one in the pharmacy ever answered. So I drove to the store to inquire about my refill. I was told they legally could not fill it (my dr later confirmed they made that up and was angry to find out they told me that) and to come back tomorrow. I am out of my medicine today and am leaving town first thing in the morning tomorrow before they open, so that's not an option. They could have cared less. So, texted my dr. He then tried to call them to tell them to refill the RX but, of course, they don't answer their phones and he couldn't get anyone to answer either. Yes, even a dr can't get anyone to talk to them. I also called the 800 number: no answer and sent them a FB chat. They answered and said someone would contact me. They never did. In the end, my dr called my rx in to Safeway, but it was late in the day on a Saturday and they didn't have the rx in stock. So now I'm without my meds for three days. This is dangerous and reckless of them. I will never EVER fill another script thru CVS or spend another dime there. Completely wasted my whole day off and now I'm without my medication. Worst experience ever. read more

Don't use this pharmacy unless you have no choice -- especially for medications you take regularly. I can never pick up medications for myself or my husband without it taking at least two trips. They either give me a generic when my subscription was written for the name brand or they forget to apply a manufacturers coupon. My son transferred his prescription to a mail prescription service after it took 5 times to get his prescription. Also, they will refill your prescriptions without your permission and then keep calling you to come pick it up even if you are not ready for a refill. read more

The pharmacy is always so incredibly slow and incompetent. It can take days to get a prescription filled, even when 'expedited'.

This would have been zero stars if that was a choice. This is the ABSOLUTE WORST PHARMACY EVER. It always takes two trips to get any prescription. One trip to pick it up, and another trip when they always tell you it isn't ready and they will "expedite it" which means it will take an HOUR AND A HALF. They are completely unorganized, borderline rude, and do not seem to understand how to run the place efficiently. I was told by the pharmacist they were SEVEN DAYS BEHIND in filling prescriptions! How does that even happen?!? Why hasn't the supervisor been fired? I will be transferring all of our prescriptions to another CVS. I will drive elsewhere just to avoid this place at all cost. read more

Very convenient location, but horrible pharmacy! The pharmacist in charge is incompetent, you can barely understand him because of his thick accent. I've been using this pharmacy for the past 10 years (because of its location) but ever since this man took over, things went south fast. They can't find your medications, the notifications are pretty random, and most of the staff within the pharmacy is rude. I get chemo drugs from the specialty pharmacy from Illinois, and it is a circus each time when I have to pick them up. They act as if they've never heard of me every time, yet I've been getting the same stuff there for years. read more

Waited in the drive thru for 20 mins while the car infront of me didn't move. Instead just sat in his car eating away. I called the pharmacy to ask what the hold up was and they said they were filling the prescription for the person in front....Would have been nice if they had told that person to come back instead of holding up the line. read more

Adolph the pharmacist is a horrible person. Fresh out of surgery I dropped off a prescription for a narcotic. Spoke with Adolph on the phone and he was very rude said I didn't drop it off I had to come down there and hung the phone up me mid conversation. When I went to pick it up the same day they said I never dropped it off and was yelled at by Adolf the pharmacist. He said it was never dropped off once again.. I said I wasn't leaving untill I got my prescription paper as they wouldn't write a new one from my doctor beings it was a narcotic. He threatened to call the police on me in all the commotion the other pharmacies found my paper prescription. I told him to give me my paper prescription instead of actually filling it. I wouldn't be returning. Stay away from this CVS at all cost. On my way out I was told by the front cashiers that they have so many problems and complaints with this pharmacist that he needs to be fired. read more

This place SUCKS! They somehow always "lose" the insurance info that is in their system. Then they run the script anyway, text you that it's ready, make you wait in line forever, then tell you to wait in a new line to put the insurance info back in AGAIN, then make you stand in line again to pay someone else! Here is a recent letter I sent to CVS Caremark: Dear CVS, I wanted to take a few moments to let you know why I will no longer be shopping in CVS and will be switching my business over to Walgreens. I have been shopping at CVS #2010 since 1987 when it was the family-owned Beacon Pharmacy. You bought them out and I was sad to lose the personalized service. I adjusted, as most do, to the change and got to know my CVS Pharmacy staff members. They were like family because I saw them so frequently. Until 2013 when the store moved across the street to a newer larger location. I do not recognize any of the staff members at CVS #2010 and there seem to be different people there every time I visit. There is only one employee (Carol) from the original store still working there; all the others are gone. The personalized service has been gone for quite some time. However, staffing is not the main reason I am choosing to leave your store. It is the numerous issues I have had with the pharmacy in the past 2 years. My husband and I were in the store on Saturday, Sept 17, 2016 to pick up prescriptions that had been sent over by the doctor's office on September 9, 2016. None of them were ready because "I didn't call and ask for them to be filled." I received a text from CVS asking if I wanted to refill them and I responded 'Y' to all of them. The young lady at the drop off counter told me that I have to call to have them filled in a tone that suggested I was an idiot for not knowing this. I have never had to call before and why I set up text alerts for medications. The employee set up all the prescriptions to be filled on Saturday and scheduled one on Sunday the 18th. My husband went to pick up the medications on Sunday, asked if all were there, was told they were, and came home, only to find the one that was scheduled for Sunday had not been filled. When I went to pick up that prescription on Monday, the young lady explained, that I needed to have called to ask for it to be refilled. I asked her why I had to call for a refill that had been scheduled two days previous. Her response, "I don't know, but we can fill it now. Would you like to wait for it?". I wish this was not the norm for this particular store, however, it happens more often than not. I wish I could say this was the first time, or even the second, however, it is closer to the 5th or 6th time that I have experienced difficulties having a prescription filled at this location. Another issue is Lane 2 - the Drop Off Only lane for the drive through. It is a Drop-Off lane, not a "let-me-see-if we-have-it-in-stock" lane. If I wanted to pick it up today, then I would either go in Lane 1 or come into the store. I was called on my cell phone and reprimanded by the employee for dropping off the prescription and leaving without waiting for a confirmation that the medication was in stock. I was told that I needed to return to the store to pick up the prescription because the medication was not in stock and they would not keep the prescription on file. Which brings me to my next area of discontent. Twice in the past year, this store has told me that I cannot have a specific prescription filled because the medication was not due to arrive for 1 to 2 weeks, despite having requested a refill, receiving confirmation that my refill would be ready at the requested date and time, and was a medication that CVS has been filling for me since 2010. Oddly enough, I could (and did) drive 1/2 mile down the road to Walgreens and had the prescription filled within the hour. About a week later, I received a call from CVS informing me that my medication was in. Then there is the exasperated sigh that I have heard escape the staff members lips when I tell the employee that I do not have my ExtraCare Card and ask if they would look it up using my phone number, or when I tell them that I received a text message telling me my prescription is ready and they cannot find it, or when they start spelling my name in the computer, "Sheck..." and wonder why they cannot find the order, or when I would consistently receive another patient's medication because she and I share the exact same first and middle names, month and day of birth, however, her last name has the 'C' and she was born 25 years before I was. Simply put, I am tired of the mediocre service I receive from your pharmacy staff and in the store in general. I have not bothered to use my ExtraCare Card in quite some time because the program has changed so much; I receive few, if any benefits from it any more. WHY SHOULD I TRUST THEM TO FILL MY PRESCRIPTIONS?? I DON'T! I will never go into this store again. Nor will I ever go into any CVS store. And I certainly will not use the pharmacy again. They advertise this $50 reward for prescriptions and they say that the pharmacy staff will help you enroll. Fat chance of that. I got jerked around in this store for over a half hour. No one knew how to do it and then there were those that said it was your normal care card - it's not. Not a single person said, "I will find out for sure and let you know". I have been in some poorly run stores but this is the worst for customer service. This girl who said she was the manager, Sienna, said she did not know the regional manager's contact info. If they are this sloppy and unprofessional, I am sincerely afraid to let them fill my prescriptions. There are much better drug store chains. read more

I went online to CVS's immunization scheduler and reserved an 8 AM appointment for a flu shot at the pharmacy. When I got there, the pharmacist was working in the back but the pharmacy gate was down. I told the other store personnel that I had an appointment and they told me the pharmacy did not open until 9 AM. One of the employees called back to the pharmacy and explained the situation, but the pharmacist refused to open until 9 AM. That's not the pharmacist's fault that the online system allowed me to reserve an out-of-hours time, but I was annoyed that the pharmacist's customer service response was for me to come back later. Since I was already there, I waited until 9 AM and was the first person in line when the pharmacy gate opened. The pharmacist then told me he had a lot of prescriptions to fill and that I would have to wait some more. Finally, around 9:20, he gave me my flu shot. Never once did he apologize for my having to wait. Instead, he acted like I was a bother. The other store personnel were very nice and professional, but I certainly will never patronize this pharmacy ever again. read more

I'm done with this store. They simply refuse to call my clinic to renew my prescription. They always want to call some other clinic and then claim that "the doctor never got back to us." No matter how many times I tell them the correct clinic. Then their computer takes my prescription on the phone, but when I call back to find out the status (because the never notify you), it claims it has no record of the prescription or my call. I came here to post a serious concern about this store. Until recently I have been happy with this CVS but I need to share this. Last night I went to pick up some medication that had been refilled. I have been using this medication and this CVS for some time now and I know what it is supposed to cost. When the woman at the drive through window told me $70.00 I was shocked. It was supposed to be less than $20.00. The insurance has not changed, what happened? I asked for an explanation, there was some discussion, I gave her my insurance cards to check, and still it was $70.00. I declined to pick up the medication opting to talk to the store today. I called the pharmacy this morning, explained what had happened, the person I was talking to looked it up, and told me the price. Less than $20.00 and within a few cents of the cost for the same pills 3 months ago. So, what happened last night. One conclusion I come to is that the woman last night wanted to pocket over $50.00 of my money. Maybe, maybe not, but the person I talked to today was unable to give me an explanation why. Beware!
