Stay away from this pharmacy! I was told by the manager I was taking too much time from the technicians with my questions. Basically, I have new insurance that requires me to use CVS. I'm trying to transfer my RXs, and I needed help applying a manufacturer copay card. They had a hard time understanding my request so I suggested they talk to Walgreens where I've had no problem with this request for years. Bottom line, I asked the manager if I should go elsewhere to get my costly RX refilled and he said maybe I should do that. Wow! No wonder they have such a low rating. On 2/23/26 I went to pick up a prescription for a family member who has cancer. I guess I arrived earlier then was expected. The tech was very nice said that it would be 15 minutes. We had items to pay for, so we went up front to take care of that. Upon our return the pharmacist said something to one of the techs who replied loudly,"I told him it would be an hour". The pharmacist then when to the back where I watched him poor the liquid from one bottle to the next. My Prescription was now ready. The pharmacist was so unprofessional. He really needs an attitude adjustment. If this is your customer service I will never reccomend CVS in Niles to anyone. read more

I don't know what's going on with CVS these days. This store has now become the closest regular retail CVS to us now that they closed down what seemed like a perfectly fine and healthy and modern CVS that was at Dempster near Potter. We have occasionally dropped in this store in the past out of convenience with coupons or when printing out promotional photo magnets that the Dempster CVS did not do. CVS has a massive nationwide plan to close down 300 locations in 2024 and 900 over the last couple of years. What is also odd is that this CVS is located only about 1 block from another CVS co-located in the Target at the very nearby Golf Mill mall. I learned though that that much smaller CVS doesn't carry as much in-stock prescription drugs as the regular pharmacy here. Anyway, this CVS has done an ok job for us, but it feels older, dingier, more congested, and has a generally lower grade customer base (just saying) but that's also why more stuff is locked up on the shelves. Horrible customer service. I went in on a Saturday at 10;30AM. Put a bunch of items (mostly sale items) into my cart. I went to check out at the self check out and realized all the advertised sale items were full price. I rang for help waited about 3-4 minutes but no one came to the self checkout flashing light or announcement via the self heck out register that "a customer needs service". So I flagged a stocker down and asked for help. He explained the pricing was correct because all the yellow sale ticket that were posted in the store were for a sale that didn't start until Sunday. THE NEXT DAY! . Then why? Are the sale signs up the morning before?!? The gentleman that was helping me was just a stocker, and he said just go up to the cashier and they'll give you the sale price. So I walked up to the cashier and she explained to me that oh yes, they put the sales signs up for 24 hours before the sale and people usually don't complain about playing full price. Plus!...there is a small typed font in the top right corner that has the sale window. But yes, it is so small that unless you have a magnifying glass you can't read it. (Maybe it should be as large as the sale price!). Thus, I will have to pay full price. And... I (the customer) shouldn't complain, because management knows this is how it goes and they're okay with the process. I just walked out of the store. Moral of the story. Don't shop here. read more

After making an appointment on October 9th to have a rapid test done for my daughter to attend her homecoming dance on October 23rd I got an email today on the 20th that her appointment was cancelled. I called and they had no explanation plus the lady had an attitude. I was left to scramble to find another location to do my daughter's test and it was not a CVS as they suck! This is a review solely of their store as I've only picked up medication maybe once or twice from this location. Employees are rude and have "I hate my job" written all over them. I had an issue today for which I needed to speak to the manager and he also didn't want to seem to help. His associate had to do all the speaking with him standing there. Their stock is hit or miss majority of the time primarily in the beauty department. I've called the store on several occasions want to check the stock of a certain item and I've been told they're too busy too check and that I'll just have to come in. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. This location says open at 7 am yet no one answers the phone for questions. Nobody can give you a straight answer on when the pharmacy opens. It is dirty and dusty. The customer service is less than none existent. When you are at the cashier they aren't even courteous and you basically have to find someone to check your items out. They hardly ever have anything in stock. Not only am I writing this review, I am forwarding it to their corporate office. This location is just taking up prime space that another business could be thriving from. I was forced to fill my prescriptions at CVS as we get a discount through my job. It is also the closest one. If Yelp were to allow negative ratings this would be a negative 5. Specifically -this review is for this particular incident, location, and for the bald four-eyed night manager who worked on 2/18/11 around 10-11pm. I went in to return an item without a receipt and granted I did not know of CVS's return policy, I found the manager was extremely rude and unprofessional in the way he handled the whole situation. Apparently according to CVS policy (the manager explained to me as if I was I was an idiot for not knowing) if you return an item without receipt you will get only 50% of the retail value or the last sale price of the item. As I contemplated whether or not to return the item, I thought about if I would ever use the item. I went ahead for the store credit, but I began to change my mind. When the manager was still in the process of the return I asked if it would be too late for me to change my mind and if he can stop the transaction. He stared at me and then proceeded to activate the store credit card by sliding the card through and then tells me after that it is too late. I may not be familiar with CVS's register/check out system but I've worked plenty retail establishments big and small to have a hunch that if he was willing to accommodate my request, he could have. Something tells me this guy just did not care what the customer wants as his attitude and demeanor just totally rubbed me the wrong way. This review concerns my experience with the actual pharmacists at this location. I receive a monthly injection in my eye, and need anti-biotic eyedrops 4 times a day for three days following. Normally, I use Costco or Walgreens pharmacy, but had just received a prescription for 75 mg of a drug called Tramadol for my dog, which only comes in 50 mg tablets. Epocrates (an iPhone prescription drug and medical app) showed me that there are some generic forms of tramadol that are pre-scrored for easy splitting. Obviously, I wanted those if I could get them. I called both of the pharmacies I usually deal with, and they did not carry the scored tablets. Then I called this CVS, and the pharmacy tech who answered heard my question, put me on hold, came back after a few minutes, and asked if I wanted to know how much they cost. I repeated my question, and she said, "Oh, right. Yes, they are scored." I went there, and was told it would take 1/2 of an hour to fill my prescriptions. I went home (5 minutes away) and the pharmacy manager, Soumiya, called me 45 minutes later saying that she couldn't read the name of the eyedrop. I told her it was Vigamox, and she said she couldn't make it out and needed to talk to the doctor. I gave her the number, and said I could also bring back an old box and bottle if it would help. It wouldn't. Meanwhile, I'm uncomfortable and concerned I could develop an infection in an eye I've worked to keep in my head. I called one more time, and she still hadn't heard from my doctor's on-call (I dialed them as well) and she assured me that she'd call me as soon as she heard from them. 3 1/2 hours after I dropped off the prescription, I just went to the store. It was ready; she was doing other work before calling me, even though I was supposed to have started using the drops long before that. Soumiya also didn't even deal with me; sending a male tech to do so. I got the number for her regional manager, and I went home, to find that my dog's pills were not scored. The only reason there's a second star on this review is because of their regional manager. John is great. I also don't hold against CVS the fact that the supervisor that John originally referred me to had a family problem. I eventually got approval from John to return the Tramadol (which meant they had to destroy them). I went back once, and found out that even though the store is 24 hours, the pharmacy isn't. That one's on me. I went back the day after memorial day, and found out that Soumiya did not notify her staff that they were to accept my return. That's on her. They called both Soumiya and John, but neither were available at 9:30PM. I left, called John, and went back today. I got my money, and the prescription form back (I remembered to ask for it). In total, I went to the store three extra times to resolve the mess. They offered nothing for my trouble, and I received no apology from the people involved. While Soumiya Thomas can claim corporate policy for not giving me the eyedrops I needed, she also should have treated me better; handled me like a manager instead of passing me off to an underling. The pharmacy tech who told me that the pills were scored when they weren't? That deserves an apology. Although I didn't ask for it, the right thing for a store to do in a case like that is offer a token $5-$10 gift card for your trouble and an apology. That didn't happen. Both the pharmacy manager and the long-haired, Caucasian female tech need a course in customer service. I would not recommend their pharmacy department. My only other experience with CVS pharmacists were in Boston, near the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary years ago, before I was on Yelp, and would have rated those experiences 4 or 5 stars. Given how good the regional manager is, I would expect other stores in the area are better (although he did defend this manager on the phone). I'd stay away from this CVS if you want your prescription done in a timely fashion, and if your doctor doesn't have good penmanship. In other words, take your prescription someplace else. read more

After my last purchase experience at this CVS, I vowed I would only get my prescriptions filled at this CVS due to my prescription coverage. After the fiasco with my latest prescription, I won't be filling anymore prescriptions at this CVS. In short, my doctor switched me from one medication to another as the old medication stopped being effective. The pharmacy did not have the medication, so they filled my prescription with the old medication. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this until I returned home. I called my Doctor who said to return the medication to the pharmacy and get what she ordered. I then called the pharmacy and was told I had to return to the store and that I could pick up the prescribed medication at the Target/CVS 3 miles away. So that is what I did. Why would a pharmacist just substitute a medication for what the doctor ordered without calling me or the doctor? At this point, I will no longer fill prescriptions at this CVS. I am going to go back to the Target/CVS even though it is a little further away. read more

This pharmacy has great personnel. The pharmacists are very helpful. They ask if you need any help with your subscription. And they take time to explain everything to you. The lady in front of me didn't have a coupon for her medicine and the pharmacist was extremely nice to the lady. I've been coming to this CVS for years and NEVER had a problem. They always let me know when my prescriptions are due. And if I need it renewed they call my doctor. Keep up the excellent work. Thank you.... read more

Came in with bronchitis and asked for zpack and cough syrup and she blatantly lies that zpack is not used to treat bronchitis and refused to see me saying i should wait another day to see another immediate care center. Absolutely the worst doctor Ive ever seen and met. She is lazy and quite frankly stupid and does not know how to treat patients. She should lose her medical practice. read more

Pharmacy is closed at 7:30 PM on a Saturday. Person in store said that they close at 6 PM on Saturday and 5 PM on Sunday. That is insane! The website should reflect that the pharmacy keeps different hours than the retail portion. Also, when you call the 800#, it is closed too. That is horrible! This review is specifically for the Minute Clinic at this CVS location. Two weeks ago I felt so sick, I was up in the night searching for somewhere I could go and be seen ASAP without an appointment. I saw that this place had bad reviews, but that they were close and opened at 8:30am. I got there early by about 8:15. The one disappointment of the day was that I couldn't check in or make an appointment until the center opened at 8:30. I was seen by Beth and she was great. Turns out I had strep and the flu. I felt very light-headed and dizzy and she took good care of me. At the end of my appointment I went to walk back to the pharmacy to get my prescriptions, and started to feel faint. I sat in the chairs but the feeling wasn't passing so i actually had to lay down on their floor (how embarrassing, I know!) one of the techs, ran and got Beth from the Minute Clinic, brought me water and even her own sweater to lay on me. They called my husband to have him come pick me up, and even walked me to the car, so he didn't have to bring the baby out in the 0 degree weather. As if that wasn't the enough above and beyond service, I ended up having an allergic reaction to the medication. So I had to call the Minute Clinic back the next day. They changed my prescription quickly, and then even followed up with me to see how I was feeling two days later. Fast forward to a week later, my daughter was really sick on a Sunday, and so we took her to this Minute Clinic and worked with Monica and had another amazing experience. Monica also followed up to see how my daughter was doing. The care felt very personal. When we have needs like this, we will continue to visit the Minute Clinic. read more

I had purchased a perscription drug product from this store I brought product back hoping to get a refund or exchange because the product when I checked my blood through a test at doctor's office it did not show up properly in test. I stopped by other locations and the other locations said that they would Exchange it if I bought it from them. This store would not exchange or refund the money that I paid for the product! $100 wasted at the store . I will not go to this individual store again. MinuteClinic Eek! Methinks not. I had been trying to find a pharmacy to get a tetanus booster shot. I called Walgreens within 5 miles of where I live and none of them had the vaccine. I then called the 800 number for Minute Clinics and asked if they could find out if any of the clinic's within a 5 mile radius of where I live had the vaccine. After about 25 minutes on hold the representative she came back and and said that the location at 9640 N Milwaukee in Niles had the vaccine. I asked her if I needed an appointment or could I do a walk in. She said I should go right away cause they weren't busy and didn't need an appointment so I left right away. I live about 20 minutes from location and got there about 115p and did the standard sign in and when I finished it said that they would see me in about 75 minutes. Apparently at this location they go to lunch from 130p till 230p and they had a patient in the room already. I am not begrudging them lunch but I as there before 130p and I drove a fairly long way and feel they should have given me my shot then gone to lunch. I was talking to someone outside their door about my displeasure with this system and that the person at the 800 number didn't tell me anything about their lunch hour or registering online and one of the PA's came out said that they could hear me and that I would have to wait till they came back from lunch and I told them I was willing to wait for them to finish with the patient they had but felt they should give me the vaccine since it would only take a short time and then they could go to lunch ( there were no other people after me or had registered on their patient screen) and she said I would have to come back at 230p to get my shot and I told her I wasn't going to do that and I was going to contact Minute Clinic customer service to express my displeasure with there system. I was in customer service for 35 years before I retired and I never would have done anything like this to a client. I am a Silverscript ( Medicare part D) member. I get the better prices for any drugs I may need by using CVS ( I don't take any at this time) but I am seriously thinking about switching to a different plan. I was also told that Minute Clinic's are not owned by CVS. They lease space to them but as far as I'm concerned they are CVS since they are in their stores and they need to know how people are being treated. read more

I rushed to the store and arrived at 11:55PM. My wife was ill with the flu and needed to buy medicine. They had locked the doors early. I knocked on the glass asking why they closed early. I told her it wasn't Midnight yet and asked to open the doors. The woman at the counter said they're assisting the last customer. I told her that it wasn't Midnight yet, and she yelled that it was. Last month I started a new prescription for cancer and when I went to CVS to fill it, was told the insurance company needed prior authorization from my doctor. I had to jump through hoops spending time on the phone between the insurance company and the doctor, but finally got it approved and CVS filled it. Yesterday, I called in two refills: one for blood pressure and the cancer pill. I was told I needed pre-authorization for the cancer pill again, which seemed ridiculous since it was already pre-approved last month. Then, I was told that they did not have my blood pressure medication, that it was on back order and wouldn't be in for about two more weeks. When I told her I was out of pills, she disappeared for a few minutes, then came back and said, "Oh, I have 30 pills", which is the same number they gave me last month. She asked if I wanted them. So, then I had to wait about 10 to 15 minutes to get them. I took my empty RX bottle (for the cancer pills) to the Dominicks pharmacy and asked if I could transfer the prescription and explained what had happened. A few hours later the pharmacist called and said the prescription had been filled. read more
