This is an older Walgreens and our second choice Walgreens if the Des Plaines one is out of stock of something or whatever or we happen to pass by here at the right time. The parking here is more congested and usually more crowded than the Des Plaines location. All Walgreens have a great Senior's Day promo (for age 55+) which is 20% off on everything (except food and liquor) on the first Tuesday of every month. That's a good once-per-month deal. Walgreens is also going private so we'll see what if anything that means for us consumers in the upcoming months. read more

This is one of the select few pharmacies in the area which is 24/7 open and ready at your service. I went here on 12/17 as a follow up second shingles shot. I scheduled his shot online on the Walgreens app for a 5:30pm appointment. We get there a bit early, ~5:25pm and check in. We had prefilled out the questionnaire form asking about medical history and known conditions prior as there was an option to do so online during the initially scheduling. Not only did we not get serviced by the pharmacist at 5:30pm, we had to wait until 6:15pm until the pharmacist was ready to administer the shot. I get it...you're busy and need to attend to others but don't allow us to schedule a time just so you're not available to actually address our needs until 45 minutes later. Not only were they late, they also had issues with retrieval of the form we prefilled. They also didn't give us a clear estimate on when the pharmacist would be ready. Mind you, there wasn't anyone ahead of my dad waiting on a vaccine. I really believe that if you're in the service business like all pharmacies are, you should be attentive and responsive to your customers. I don't think I'll be coming back to this pharmacy unless it's past operating hours at a closer pharmacy to the house. read more

Zero stars if I could. This is by far the worst store I've ever dealt with. The pharmacy staff are incredibly lazy and unprofessional. As someone who has worked as a pharmacy technician at Walgreens, I can confidently say these employees should not be working with the public. Their clientele consists mostly of sick and elderly patients, yet their service is far below acceptable standards. Being on hold for over 20 minutes at 9:30 PM just to ask a simple question, then calling again just to be hung up on, is completely unacceptable, especially for a 24-hour pharmacy. There is absolutely no sense of urgency or care for patients' needs. If you're looking for real care and your time to be respected, avoid at all costs. read more

I've never left a review like this before but I feel like this crossed the line. An employee named Sims at this Walgreens has consistently treated me with such hostility for no reason. Today I was in the store when a loud alarm kept ringing from the sliding doors. I muttered one curse word under my breath from frustration and she kicked me out. I've never been disrespectful to her. In fact, I've always tried to be polite--waving, saying hello, even trying small talk--but she just glares at me like I don't belong there. Worst pharmacy ever. Lines are always long and they have one person working the register

This place is horrible. No customer service. Was on ignore for over 90 minutes. Caught them lying, stating waiting on my physician. I sat next to my dr. And watched him entering refills. Still got text waiting for providers to respond. Pharmacy and store manager admit that they are short staffed. Will not address the problem. I would close this location, it sucks! They even make you select a star. Fix this to allow negative stars. read more

The Pharmacy staff is rude and has zero customer service whatsoever. There was a huge line at the drive thru and they shut it down because it was time for the tech to leave, with several cars still in line! I love Walgreens coupons and offers. I used to buy a lot from here to safe money. Today, I went to buy some personal stuff for me and my mom went too. We both spent over $40 on personal stuff. The deal was to but 3 personal items to receive a coupon of $10. We both pay separately since we both have Walgreens coupon. I pay and the discount was correct but the cashier never give me my coupon of $10. After, we both pay separately none of us received the coupon. I returned on the line and ask the other cashier. I guess it was one of the manager. He ask me my receipt. I was getting it out when the other lady cashier heard me. She said she didn't give it to me because the machine didn't work. The men manager told me that he would not give me the coupon because he knows I been in different walgreens doing the same thing. He said he saw me. He mentioned another Walgreens in different city. I told him it was not me and that this was my first time buying this products. He said no. I was okay about my mom? He said no to her too. I explain that she has her own Walgreens account. But, he was so mean and judge both. He said no. I felt so embarrassed and discriminated. He didn't give us both the right to prove we are not just going around doing what he said we are doing. He confused me with another lady. I think the computer will let them know if I buy the some products and not give us the coupon. It was not our fault the coupon machine was not working ! He judge us without prove. Walgreens customer care is bad! I feel So upset and discriminated that I will never return. I am done buying from Walgreens where discrimination against innocent people. 2 Prescriptions were not ready I picked up just 1 on Friday on 12/08/23. Returned on Tuesday 12/12/23 and had to wait 20 minutes to get meds. Also, lately always a long line for prescriptions and only 1-2 people at the register. read more

If there was a NO star option I would've chosen NO STAR! If you're planning to have a wonderful customer service experience when shopping for Walgreens, this is not the place to be. Especially coming from the STORE Manager ANDREW! Today, March 13, 2018. Purchased a few items and found out some error in pricing. So we ended up returning the products to get full refund and was going to repurchase them after. We got in line and lucky and for us, we fell into the STORE Managers line. My thought was, finally we could get this right. .... right??? Explained to him that there was error in pricing. In the beginning of our transaction with the SUPER STORE MANAGER ANDREW, he started to give us attitude. He then started to tell us loudly, I mean loud, with attitude, that the item with coupon is not the item we purchased. He made a big scene saying that they NEVER have that item on coupon. I mean how is the customer supposed to know when the label says otherwise. We also explained that the other product on the isle that we purchased has different pricing on the tag. I know this because we showed him the picture. The super manager didn't want to believe us with the picture. He stared and touched my personal phone to zoom in and out. I mean I couldn't believe it. My sister did suggest "why not go personally go to the product and look"?. Why not right? This manager was extremely rude, throwing things around like he had the worst day ever. Before coming in to Walgreens, I picked up my sister from the Hospital, went straight there. So who's having the worst day? At the end of it, we just wanted to return the product. And the manager still gave us the attitude. As he was FINALLY trying to return our money back, my sister said "This is not Walgreens Customer service, I know because I work for Corporate!". So imagine a sick lady just trying to get over a horrible transaction with the SUPER Manager ANDREW? People, do me a favor, Check everything, check your pricing, and good luck trying to deal with this manager. After being told the pharmacist cannot fill my prescription, because the system wouldn't let him. Even though I had a prescription and followed everything he said. He said they had the meds in stock but wouldn't process it that it wasn't life or death. I was told to call other pharmacies to have my prescription filled somewhere else. I told him this was my pharmacy and I didn't want to go anywhere else. Very pricy!!! Abreva over $4 more expensive than Walmart. I understand that the difference can be 10, 20, 30, or even 50 cents or even a dollar. But for an item that is $16.77 at Walmart to be 20.99 at Walgreens is unacceptable no matter how it can be justified. When I wanted to return the case of water to exchange it with another type, the cashier at Walgreens told me not to leave the one I am not taking at the cashier, take the cart with the water to the front of the store, and take another cart and go get the other case of water with it. I couldn't believe it. Extreme lack of customer service. With this type of customer service and such prices I wouldn't be surprised if Walgreens goes out of business soon. Ever go to a place where everybody knows your name? This isn't exactly Cheers, but for the past month I've been feeling that way. Between both of my kids getting sick, my wife needing prescriptions too, plus some of my own drug refills to use up the free covered prescription benefits at the end of the year, we've been regulars at this Walgreens. You know that when you're in line and the pharmacy assistant has your stuff sitting on the counter before it's your turn in line. While it is not the best organized or most efficient pharmacy, it's close enough to home and it's a 24 hour store, which is why we like this place. A 10-minute wait can easily become 20-30 minutes, even on a Friday night. I've found the best way to deal with this is to drop it off and come back later, giving more than enough time to get it filled. As for the rest of the store, it's what you'd expect from a Walgreens: cards, shampoos, cosmetics, candy, overpriced toys, etc. Nothing spectacular but it has been an essential part of our life lately. read more

They don't care! The website listed this location opens 24 hours. Got there at 10pm, the door was locked but staff are inside chatting. I called, a man answered. I asked if they are open, he said no they are closed due to covid-19. I asked if there's another store open 24 hours nearby, he said no. I explained to him that I need to get baby fever reduction medicine because my baby stated having high fever a few hours ago and we are out of medicine. He said there's nothing he can do and he suggested me to take the baby to ER. Funny that they are closed due to covid-19 but he thinks it's okay to risk your kid by taking him to ER when it's not necessary. I searched again online and finally found CVS in Highland Park open 24 hours, I called ahead to make sure they are open so I don't make the same Walgreen's mistake. CVS website stated the true store hours, Highland Park is open 24hrs so I went to get the medicine. It's 35 min. drive for me each way. Had Walgreen update their store hours online I could have saved a trip and go home to my baby sooner. During the search sitting at the Walgreen front door, there were at least 20 people stopped by checking at the door. Staff inside of the store wouldn't even care to look. This is an older store that looks like a cube on the corner. The area is run down so this fits right in. The employees were extra helpful and got me to where I needed to go. The insides are pretty much all alike but this store doesn't have Delish. That is Walgreens branded food merchandise. It is actuall pretty good and was hoping to load up on snacks. Rain changed to ice in parking lot. Saw someone fall. Difficult finding things, but helpful young many assisted. could not use reward points. Cash register person almost called me a liar as the item was "Rewards" was not highlighted on hist register. I expressed my concern about the reward program not paying. He recomended that I come back. The reasons that I went there was to try to find a Walgreens with a safer parking lot in my area as the other stores are too crowded and this on has a lot that has bigger aisles and parking spots. Big waste of time. I got the impression senior day , 1st Tuesday of month, stresses the company. I'm not a Liar. Their Balance Rewards Computer system was down. Worst cashier at night shift. I understand that they have to check ids for the purchase of tobacco and alcohol, but the cashiers don't know what type of identification card they can approve. I've been standing in the line for a while, and the cashier could not figure out if she has to check ids for the whole group who were purchasing alcohol in front of me. The cashier couldn't provide the reasons of having to check every single people in the group purchasing the alcohol. Then it was my turn to purchase cigarette. I left my license at home, so I gave her my green card which obviously had my information with my picture. She refused to approve my green card and couldn't provide reasons to why she couldn't approve my it which is issued by the government. I had to leave without my cigarettes. I understand if that's a policy for them, but like i said, she couldn't explain why or if there is any policy regarding the issue. Worst experience ever. read more

Every time I go to that pharmacy they always give me a hard time when I have to pick up my moms prescriptions they always either say they don't have her in system of nothing waiting for her to pick up and she has been picking up pills there for three years straight. They had one Hispanic girl who used to be a manger there put her in the pharmacy and this girl is the worst she always had attitude when she was a manager and now she does the same in the pharmacy she is so rude to the customers acting like she owns the store and can say or do whatever she wants Their lines are always long and this pharmacy needs a lot of help because their customer sevice is he worst I seen and frustrating. Terrible service. Prices at checkout are incorrect and staff incapable of correcting. Also, still charging sweetener tax on non-sweetened drinks - staff acknowledges but says they have to charge it and cannot correct it. Sad to say i was treated with contempt by the pharmacist. I had back fusion surgery i am prescribed alot of pain medication currently. When i called to check stock i was told in a snyde manor that i had filled that before and when. I knew this and wish i didnt need the medication to keep me from crying in pain. Then she proceeded to say there was no stock and it would take a week to order. I went to walgreens on miner in des Plaines they ordered and had ready in 2 hours. Also advised by other walgreens the most it can take to order controlled items is 2 business days worst case. But can do same day with situation such as mine. So they lied, made me feel like a bad person needing help with pain, and caused emotional distress i didnt need at this time. I had major surgery to stop the pain and need for pain medication not for fun. Sad that a pharmacist would judge a 43 yr old woman who has pins, screws and a giant cut in my spine. read more
