The pharmacy is incompetent. Every prescription refill requires follow-up calls. Today I asked about a prescription that was supposed to be delivered. Better customer service because it's horrible. It's 8:57 pm on a Wednesday night, the store is practically empty. I walked in was looking for some items, I asked what appeared to be the manager for assistance and he pointed me in the right direction. I then went to check out as I walked up I stood there for a while with another gentleman he asked if anyone was working I said yes I think they're walking around. She told me my meds would be ready on a certain day, I show up and she says they can't fill my meds until the next day and that there is a note that says that. I will never go there on Touhy in Park Ridge for a prescription again. The pharmasist's name starting with the letter B fouled up my order. He should retire. The dr had given the pharmacy a one time coupon for my husband's meds. He used it but only had 29 of the 42 pills. He said the remainder would come in the following days, and it would only cost $30. Price was $130 to start with. When I picked up the remaining pills it was over $500. I discussed it with him and he said call your insurance co. Very nonchalantly. He should have sent me to another Walgreens for the complete order. He should know how coupons work. The drs had a hard time fixing, the bill came out to $80. I will not be going there again. For years now, no one in pharmacy picks up the phone (not just a COVID thing). In the past, I've even gone there in person to try and clarify "xyz" question because waiting on hold gets no where. Today is the day I leave a review due to the multiple times this happens. It appears online that a rx order did not go through, and I wanted to clarify what happened on the receiving end before reaching back to the prescribing physician. No such luck. I'll add that a little support by anyone in pharmacy would help such as helping with discount coupons. She then told me the script I was waiting on and was supposed to be filled...was out of stock and can't be filled. Despite the fact I got a text saying it was ready. She then told me if I felt she was doing illegal things I'd have to talk to her attorney and couldn't be a customer there. This woman is insane. I'm a very patient and understanding person and with with Covid pharmacies are very busy but this Walgreens seems to go out of there way to do the least they can do for you. My doctor prescribed a migraine medication and sent the script to Walgreens. Walgreens sent me a text saying they received it and it would be ready for pick up in the morning . I went to pick it up and was told I had no prescription ready. I showed the text message and the reply was insurance refused to pay so they did not fill it. I asked the cost and was told 6.50. I told them I would pay myself and was told it would be ready in the afternoon. I returned, waiter in line again and when served was told again I had no prescriptions ready. Then I was told insurance denied payment because this medication is available over the counter and I could just buy it there. Why this information was not given to me during my 1st visit is baffling, I believe they are so busy, disorganized, and short staffed they are over their heads. This Walgreen's pharmacy is absolutely horrible. Beyond horrible, actually.They always put you on hold forever when you call--if they answer at all--and staff are unfriendly. Worst of all, they are always disconnecting you, and you have to start all over again. Today I had to change my insurance information. With all the disconnects and holds, it took me two hours and fifteen minutes to accomplish that. That's the Walgreen's way. What is maddening is the fiction that they always trot out that today the call volume is particularly high. And staff is always apologizing, insincerely. Every time I shop here there's always the same lady at the front end. She has long wavy/curly hair in half up style with one of the worst customer service experience someone can possess. You see better behavior from teens who have a summer job than you would with this lady. To add, her name tag is conveniently flipped over so you can't read her name. There was another personnel next to her which didn't seem to care how she spoke and acted. I had entered my rewards number in and it didn't go through. She responded short and nasty for me to re-enter. After the second try, she just said the total and didn't offer to update my account's phone number- zero patience. I've been going here for years, we live nearby. Pharmacy is generally good, occasionally out of a script but not too bad. Verica in the cosmetics is the reason for 5 stars! She's always got a good suggestion, a coupon and a smile. She's saved me a ton but also is just really nice. If you're thinking of picking up your prescriptions here go some where else ! They are doing drive thru window Covid testing passing live Covid tests back and forth thru the drive up window. The delays are at least 5 cars long and 30 or more minutes. I was behind a guy last Wednesday who while at the drive thru window, got out and tried to take a sample from the screaming kid with the q tip or whatever it is for 5 minutes . I will absolutely avoid the risk of getting Covid at this drive thru and go somewhere else that doesn't invite Covid testing. Scary. read more

Find another store to use for their photo department. This is not the first time that I have had issues with this store having poor photo technicians. Two and a half hours after placing my photo order I had to take matters into my own hands to figure out how to get these prints from another store. I love Walgreens because every other Walgreens I have gone to has been reliable same day printing. Their team does not work to problem solve for their customers and it's upsetting. Clean and neat little local Walgreens. It has all the small things you might need. They also have a drive-thru pharmacy here so that's really convenient. They don't have fresh sandwiches though (from their delish line). Heads up to those who come from the city and sometimes need that on the go. Also the staff is friendly and helpful. read more

I was waiting in line for my pain medicine since I just had dental work done and the cashier just took forever! There were only 2 people in front of me but she asked both customers everything about their lives. I'm all about great customer service and building a relationship with your customers but it was literally 15 minutes later when I got up to the cashier and when I got there she started making a call trying to follow up for a customer from an hour ago. While I alway hear her complaining about their pharmacy, I've never had a problem with Walgreens and their app has just made it easier. DO NOT GO TO THIS WALGREENS! Completely rude staff. I was out on a long walk and had to use the bathroom. I went into this Walgreens and asked to use the facilities (trust me, if it wasn't an emergency I wouldn't have asked). I told them I was far from home, taking a long walk. The cashier said "No public bathrooms". After persisting that it was an "emergency", the woman told me I could talk to the manager, who was standing right there. I asked the manager if I could please use the bathroom, it was an emergency. The manager seemed upset, stared at me blankly, and without words, led me to the back of the store to the women's bathroom. The bathroom was DEPLORABLE... There were only two stalls, the two toilets were covered in feces and urine. The floors were dirty and you could tell the bathroom hadn't been cleaned in months, maybe a year. And these were the toilets they were trying to keep from me??? As if I was going to contaminate them? So gross. I squatted and used the bathroom anyway and left. Suffice to say, I won't go there ever again. I think it says a lot about a business who treats a customer with total disregard and denies access to public bathrooms. If you need some basic groceries, school supplies, bulbs, hair care or cleaning supplies, medicine and convenance is more important than price come here. If I could give a minus score I would. My wives Dr sent a electronic prescription to Walgreens at 8:30am this morning for two prescriptions. I received a electronic phone call at 10:00am that her prescription was filled. At approximately 2:00 pm I went to the drive up window for pickup. I was informed that only one prescription was available. I asked what was the problem with the other. The pharmacy technician informed me that the cost of the item was four hundred dollars and that my insurance company would not cover the medication cost. I then asked did you call the Dr. for a alternative drug. The tech said no. I asked for the pharmacist on duty and asked her why there was not a call to the dr. I was informed by the pharmacist she don't no. This pharmacy is not customer friendly and could care less. Surely a simple call to the dr would have been nice and customer friendly. At approximately 3:30pm the pharmacist called me and informed me that a alternative medicine was authorized by the dr . If you smart find another Walgreens. Had to use them again Tuesday. Really bad service at the pharmacy. Ask for Veronica if you need practice talking to a 3 year old. Constant interruptions, refuses to answer questions asked, and is always ready to tell you how good of job she is doing. If you ask to talk to her supervisor, he is on vacation. And request a corporate number, lets just say the 800# made it very clear that Walgreens does not care about customer service.
