The friendly owner Kyung is very nice and is always helpful to make sure you select the right items for your type skin. They have a huge variety of great skincare lines to fit all skin types! The product is potent so you don't need a lot. Most products pump the exact right amount you'll need so there is no guess work! Most are all natural and smell amazingly clean! I've been coming here for the last 15 years and every product I ever purchased always improved my changing skin and kept it blemish free. My skin feels soft not dry and moisturized nicely! I'm fair skinned and burn easily in the sun. I love the Yehwahdam bb cushion SPF 50. It goes on smooth, excellent coverage, doesn't clog your pores and looks natural. The woman here was helpful and pleasant and was great about explaining what every product does and is best used for, she also recommended the best brands with the highest efficacy. I stopped by this store for the first time today because I ended up preparing for some gifts at the last minute with no time for ordering online. The woman asked me, "How can I help you?" So, I responded, "I am just looking around." Within less than another 3 minutes, she asked me the same question again in a very stern voice as she was watching at every move of mine at the store. By then, it made me feel very uncomfortable, and just looking around the store didn't seem to be allowed in this store. Or she was watching as if I wasn't stealing anything in the store. As I was pressed for time for having to get small gifts quickly, I ended up purchasing two small cleansing creams and paying for them in a hurry and left. They had a decent collection in their small store, but if they don't make customers feel comfortable with looking around the store, I am not sure if their displays are any good. The Face Shop is a South Korean beauty store located inside of HMart (near the check out registers) and has very affordable sheet face masks ranging from about $2-$15 each. I usually come here to buy their face masks and adorable hand creams (the ones that come in cute packaging & are scented). They also carry natural face & body skin care products as well as makeup and nail polish. They usually throw in several samples while you're checking out (I noticed that they usually give you more samples if you buy more products). Service can be a hit or miss. Sometimes I receive the best service (friendly, asked if I need any help, make helpful suggestions, etc) while other times it's not so great (ignored me while gossiping to a friend about a church member in Korean...yes I understand Korean). Once, there was nobody working in the store for a solid 5 minutes! Be aware if you want to use your $10 birthday coupon because it won't apply on certain products. I get this annually and had no problem using it before. I bought face masks here today and tried using this coupon, but the lady in the counter said I can't use it on face masks. I was speaking in Korean to her and I guess she assumed that I don't speak english? She said, "it clearly says it on the coupon" and when I read it out loud to her she changed her words and said "our owner said no". Dear Face Shop, You've done it again! I can't tell you how much I love coming here. I live in the city, so I always have to plan my trip out here just to visit this shop. Let me tell you, it's always worth it! June is amazing, and she's always super helpful. A couple of months ago, I came to the Face Shop and learned that the serum I used to use was discontinued. Luckily, June was there and recommended another serum that was just as effective. A few months later, June actually remembered who I was and gave me a handful of samples of the serum that was discontinued. 7/20/2016 I posted a review up three months ago on such a great experience I had. But today 7/20/2016 it was simply horrible if I can post negative stars I would. I simply asked to get assistance and the lady which was rude! Said just but that one. I then wanted to have her show me other products but she was already by the resister on the computer. Not everyday do you have a man come in shopping for himself, but needing that much help. I really appreciated her putting BB Cream on my face to show me how it was done. She taught me how to use every single product I purchased and taught me which products I didn't need. I really appreciated her honest in only showing me products I needed. I came in with $100 and spent about $85 for products that I actually needed. I am writing this review after two weeks since my visit and my skin has improved a lot in such a short time. Only the White Jewel Peeling Cream was a flop. CC Cream, Oil Cleanser, and Foam Cleanser have helped so much with my skin's health. Jun or June? Even gave me free samples to practice CC Cream application! I was very happy with how I was helped during my visit. Granted I was the only person in the store at the time, I appreciated Jun or June teaching me for that extended amount of time. I learned a lot more than I could have browsing Youtube videos and searching Google. I really would like to visit again on a day when the Professor is in to show my results. Love this place! The Face Shop is a great place to stock up on paper masks and other beauty goodies without going broke. The store is well lit so you can really see the products so need to second guess a shade. Their employees are more than happy to assist and explain their products. My favorite products are their paper masks, chia seed serum and konjac sponges. The paper masks come in a variety of prices, types and brands. Try their lemon one....amazing! The face masks here stay moist for quite a while. Left one on for an entire Law & Order marathon and it didn't dry up! Their konjac sponges are way cheaper and higher quality here than anywhere else I've seen. If you haven't tried a konjac sponge...you need to!! Your skin will thank me later for the tip! The products at the Face Shop are great quality for a very reasonable price. Remember to sign up for that membership card! It is free and allows you to earn points. I'm from Wisconsin, but go to H Mart just because I love The Face Shop and the service is super friendly. Last year I won a $300 gift certificate in a social media contest and picked up a lot of goodies. Throughout the entire time, the woman behind the counter was really helpful and wanted me to have a great experience there. In fact, the reason I keep going back is because of the young woman behind the counter. Instead of throwing a bunch of samples in a bag like other places, she picks out samples to best match your skin type and complexion - it's so thoughtful. They have nails, makeup, skin care, accessories, mens's section, and more. With the help of the young woman behind the counter, my new favorites are their sebum control sun screen and their rice water cleanser. I've never found a sunscreen as excellent as the Face Shop SPF 40 sebum control (blue box) that the woman at Face Shop recommended. I will definitely continue to buy this. The other thing I learned when I was last there is that they take orders over the phone! You can call and they will ship your order to you! Unfortunately you don't get the experience of shopping there and testing things out, but if you have a couple tried and true products you really need, I think that ordering on the phone is an awesome service to offer. Before entering or even having any knowledge of The Face Shop, I use to buy all my skin care products at Sephora or occasionally at Nordstrom. Now, I don't even step foot into Sephora I cannot stress how sweet the ladies are here! I have been coming here for a while now and I just love their masks (a super wide variety) ! They are always open to answer your questions and will make recommendations on products depending on what your getting. But if you don't end up taking their recommendation, they will give you a trial sample(one application only) so that you can just take a feel for it! {I recently went back in because June gave me a sample of the face shop's rice bright cleansing oil and I just had to go back and get it! Its super amazing! Highly recommend!} They are also willing to show you how to put on certain items properly. Sure the stuff is a little pricery but it is so worth it! I bought their 24k gold escargot essence mask and its just amazing!! They also have smaller sizes of most items incase your a little skeptical about trying out certain products and if they don't have a smaller size sample to purchase they are more than happy to give you a small trial sample. Also, if you join their membership you get so many samples!! And on your birthday you get a lovely 10$ gift certificate! I just had a really awful customer service experience. Came in on Saturday to purchase a BB cushion, and the lovely lady helped me pick one out, but she said it might be too light for my skin, so she gave me a free sample of it to try when I purchased the actual cushion: "use this first to make sure you like it." She also sent me home with some skincare samples as well. Very pleasant Saturday afternoon. I tried the BB sample, and she was right; it was too light. I just came back in with the receipt and the package for the compact, unopened. I hadn't taken out the free samples yet, because I hadn't thought about it and well, they were free. When I came in to return the compact, unopened, receipt in hand, the salesgirl snatched the entire bag away from me. "Excuse me?" I said. "you paid for everything." The compact was the only purchase on the card. "I know; that's everything." I tried to take the bag back. "Even the samples. You'll return these." "Um, they're free?" "YOU GIVE BACK THE SAMPLES." Whatever, lady. If you're that hard up for tiny vials of moisturizer, fine. But it was a rude and unnecessary exchange that has solidified my decision never to come back here. I had tried The Face Shop for the first time when I was visiting a friend in Seoul and instantly became addicted! Needless to say, I was thrilled to find out there was one close by. Emily and June are so friendly and always help me find exactly what I need! My favorite products include: Chia Seed makeup removing wipes - I have very sensitive eyes and I have found that these are the only wipes that don't irritate my eyes when I remove my makeup at the end of the day. The reason why she sold me on it was because she had been using this line herself and I was able to ask her experience about it and what she thought. She was very willing and patient in answering my questions and was not at all pushy in an annoying way. I also liked that she pointed out the beneficial components in the skincare line that would help my skin in specific ways. It's a bummer that they are further out in the suburbs but I'll be sure to stop by whenever I make a trip to Niles. I've been going to The Face Shop for several years now. Their products are probably lower end in Korea, but compared to American cosmetics and skin care, their products I would say are more medium shelf. I use their skincare products more than their cosmetics and I used to have acne problems, but using many of their products, Shiseido and other Korean cosmetics, I no longer suffer from it. And a lot of credit goes to The Face Shop because of their friendly service. Especially if you are new to Korean skincare, they can walk you through it and explain how to take care of your skin and whatever issues you may want to target (acne, uneven skin tone, wrinkles...). Their face masks are also best if you're the type that likes to use them daily. Plus Korean service is the best! Regardless if they have a promotion going or not, you can always expect to get some samples from the friendly ladys working there. I'm just so sad I lost my birthday coupon from last May. Until recently I mostly stuck with the skin care, but lately I have been loving the nail polish and makeup. I cannot express how much I love this store! I am always met with great advise and help, along with nice samples that always are spot on and I end up going back to buy the full sized product. The entire store is an amazing find, and finding nice Korean skin care that is from a trustworth source is always nice. I hate having to buy Korean skin care from Sephora because they simply don't know what they are selling. Worst Faceshop Branch ever. Store aesthetic and display is cramped and weird, not comparable to other branches. Bad customer service especially the sales person who keeps on rearranging the product we checked on. We decided to just not get anything. No time to deal with a bad pushy grumpy sales personnel. I'm a bit of a novice in the world of korean skincare and the associate was eager to offer advice regarding any questions I had. I was sure to stock up on sheet masks, so many choices!! I used to go to Sephora before. It was expensive and so I couldn't buy enough products to do makeup I wanted to. Because I am a poor student, I needed it product that works well and cheaper than Sephora. My first product was Lovely Mix make me star waterproof jel eyeliner 02 chocolatte. Pretty wrong name LOL I read review, and bought it without any testing. It worked very well. I was and am in swim team. Sometimes I got really lazy, and didn't removed my makeup. But I didn't became a panda! My eyeliner was still there. That was what I wanted to have because other products from Sephora gave me black eyes even they said "waterproof." Also I have gym everyday, but even tho my makeup stay there clearly. Overgirl stick shadow is a product that lady from the face shop introduced to me. I wanted a shadow that not too much shining. She recommended me overgirl stick shadow 06 and I am using it well. I just bought 08 color today! Ladies are very nice, and price is nice too!
