In my experience, the pharmacy at CVS at 305 East 86th Street has become increasingly unreliable, an absolute steady downright outright decline. The issue is not a single mistake, but a persistent pattern of contradictory explanations, inconsistent information, unanswered phones, app information that often does not match reality, and changing policies that staff themselves seem unable to explain consistently. In a pharmacy setting, where people rely on accurate information regarding medications, deliveries, and prescriptions, this level of inconsistency is concerning and, in my opinion, potentially unsafe--particularly for elderly or medically vulnerable customers. It's dangerous. The front store staff has generally been excellent. My concerns are specifically with the pharmacy operations. For Pharmacy needs there are several local independent pharmacies. Pharmacies where you Dial a person picks up they know you they speak refined English., meaning you can understand them, and this consistency in the operation. I think the manager Ian at CVS is frightened to manage for various reasons that have to do with certain hiring issues. You might want to try VitaHealth, +1 (212) 772-1110. CVS at 86th Street is getting on my last nerve. Twice I have had problems with expired merchandise and today I was overcharged for an item that was clearly marked as on sale. Aren't they updating their computer to reflect sales price? Now I have to go back tomorrow with the item I purchased in order to get my refund. The only good thing I can say is that when I called the store to tell them I was overcharged I actually got to speak to someone! I sent the customer service representative a email to. I'm glad I saved her information from the last time I had a problem with this CVS location! Two stars and I'm being generous. read more

I have never had any issues at this cvs location. The staff is always very welcoming esp this one guy. And the shelves usually seem to be stocked very well. It is clean and brightly lit. They have a pharmacy in the back where two people usually work to ring up customers. Sometimes this line can move on the slower side if its crowded. It is centrally located next to the Q lines so if you want to pop in for a snack or a water this is the place to get it. read more

I arrived at this CVS at 1:25 PM and was told to wait 15 min for my prescription pickup. At 1:35 PM I noticed staff turned off their lights but were still attending people in the register. I continued waiting patiently on the side. After both customers were finished I stood up and waited in front of the register as I noticed two staff members standing in front of me while rolling down their shutters without saying a word. I then said "hey I was told to wait 15 min" and a voice replied they would be back after 2 PM. I mentioned that it would have been nice to have been told that they would take longer than 15 min. I heard some muttering between staff followed by some giggles. Needles to say I found my encounter to be uncomfortable as well as unprofessional, especially from a pharmacy department as they deal with health related requests. I will not be back. read more

I just have to review this place because despite it being a normal run-of-the-mill CVS, this place has the best customer service! I frequent this place regularly as it's right off my train station and an easy place to get random stuff in the middle of the night. Every time and I mean EVERY time I walk in there (and everyone else, not just me, LOL) I feel like I'm on the red carpet. The staff is so sweet, and there's always someone by the front welcoming everyone in and wishing them goodbye. For some reason, that really makes this experience for me! 5 star service at a CVS? There are two stores in or around the 86 street upper east side area. However, I prefer this one. It is a large store and pretty neat inside. I have been here a couple of times and each time I have found exactly what I was looking for. Additionally, after each purchase I have received coupons on my receipts which I used on the next purchase. I wish there were more CVS stores in each boroughs. read more

This CVS claims to be 24/7. I just moved in this weekend and needed some toilet paper. I literally just needed basic supplies for one night. It was around midnight when I got around to getting it. It was not open. I'm sure this is a great CVS but just straight up not open. read more

Quite spacy and comprehensive sortiment. The pharmacy itself is a disaster staffed by incompetent and unmotivated personnel. There is a revolving door mentality; instead of addressing a problem or making any effort in correcting it over the phone or in person, promises to do so are being made but solutions never materialize. For some reason this CVS location locks their freezers. That means if you need something frozen you need to spend five minutes looking for a store employee who will then radio someone who will take another 5 to 10 minutes to arrive to unlock the freezer. I'm newer to the city and this pharmacy has been my go-to for minute clinic visits, mostly for their location / they take my insurance. I came in this evening about 25 minutes before they closed assuming I would have to wait until tomorrow to be seen. Their NP Lauren Ghazal got me in anyways and stayed late to help me figure out what was going on. She was super sweet and helpful and wasn't the slightest bit annoyed with me even though arrived at an inconsiderate time. this new giant cvs on 86th st off 2nd ave is the latest chain biz to crowd the area and i assume it's needed or else they wouldn't bother to pay that crazy manhattan rent . after checking out a movie nearby i was making my way home when this super side cvs seemed like a good place to pick up a few things as long it's on sale or else i will bounce cause cvs can be pricey on regular priced items . place is neat and in order as i browse the aisles and the pharmacy area is busy with folks waiting for their meds . the usual typical cvs stuff from snacks , health and beauty goods and products for the house including paper towels , soap , etc . the raisin bran was on sale for 1.99 each and the talenti gelato was buy one get one free which is really a good deal . it's wait and see if this large cvs will stick around in the area as so many are around but it's all about supply and demand and as long as stuff is on sale and you have your cvs card it works for me when needed . read more
