This is the most inefficient pharmacy I have ever been to in the entire world. Ever since they installed the self check-in screens at the counter (on which everyone in line behind you can read your full name and date of birth), and have only one cashier "helping" two people at the same time (multitasking does not work -- It is proven), service has been nearly nonexistent, the pharmacist doesn't feel the need to even address you. It is impersonal; but what is worse is that it is incredibly more delayed than it was before. The multitasking is not saving anybody any time . This was a horrible change to make, and I hope they aren't thinking of doing this at their other locations. read more

Cashier was so incredibly rude. She told us where to go for self-checkout, but we did not hear her so we asked again where to go. First she didn't respond, then rolled her eyes and mumbled under breath loud enough for the person in front of her to hear, then loudly said in the rudest/condescending tone while pointing, "I said, it was in the back." read more

So difficult and strange to pick up from pharmacy. I feel like I'm getting a practical joke played on me. Couldn't find me in their system (and claimed I had never picked up from there) even though I have picked up from several different CVSs (only picked up from CVS ever!) and never had an issue. Said it would take a day but I came in on my only day off so I had a family member come in and pick up. They gave me the completely wrong medication. How does one store get so much wrong? read more

Very poor customer service in Pharmacy. Pharmacists are rude and don't communicate with each other.

I am usually just in/out for quick pickups, but today sat waiting for a scheduled appointment for a vaccine shot in the pharmacy (which I finally had to cancel due to wait). The pharmacy staff had time to visit with friends, one another, fake "shooting" each other and playing around, as well as catching up on texting (one stood at the counter more focused on her AirPods and energy drink). All of this to a level that was concerning to say the least, which is disappointing as it has been such a handy spot for those of us in the midtown area. This location SUCKS. my son was in line waiting for his medicine for pink eye in BOTH eyes and the asshole working closed the door on him and said they can't take any more customers even though he had been there on time waiting in their line. This location is so convenient if you work in the midtown area near VUMC or Vanderbilt University. It's located right on 21st Avenue, right across the stree from the main Vanderbilt campus. I typically drop by here for emergency food needs (if I forgot my lunch-on-the-go or needed to get something for a group, like candy or chocolate). The hours are really pretty long here, so I opt to go here when other places aren't open yet. There's a pharmacy in the back, and I think they do flu shots at this location. Don't be fooled by the small storefront; the store extends within down the length of the building, and you'll get all the amenities of a normal CVS, from different health and beauty supplies to the pharmacists on call. I do think, as with any convenient store like CVS or Walgreens, you pay slightly more than a big box store. However, there are very few stores like this within walking distance, so the price is justified by its location. Pretty standard store, but the staff have always been polite and the aisles well stocked. read more

Is there not a CVS in this country that is competent and actually care for patients. You can put your refill request in weeks in advance and it still not be ready on time. Once again same situation and no one cares. No solution and it's your problem, although you and your doctor did what was required. WARNING. Please stay away from this pharmacy as it by far the worse. They seem to never have all my prescriptions available. I'm switching back to Walgreens after this last debacle. Pitiful.

I have been using this pharmacy for the past two years but I will be having my prescriptions transferred somewhere else after my recent experiences here. My regular prescription was 5x the cost out of the blue. I spent over an hour on the phone with my insurance sorting out the issue. When I returned to CVS, they told me my insurance didn't do anything and it was still 5x the cost. Unfortunately the techs were dismissive and rude. They did not do anything to try to help me with the issue or explain why the cost was suddenly so exorbitant. I ended up getting a 30 day supply rather than 90 day supply of my medication. After I left I did some research and found they over charged me for the 30 day supply, as well. read more

This review is for their minute clinic & not necessarily a representation of the store as a whole, but here we go... I woke up achey, fevery, & overall not well so made an appointment online. The earliest I could get was 2:15, so I booked the appointment online (convenient, right?!) I show up on time, & notice someone is already ahead of me. Turns out her appointment was for 1:30 & she had yet to be seen. That's annoying. So I ended up waiting for over an hour after my scheduled appointment time that I made sure to book beforehand. Not okay. Sitting in a CVS waiting room while sick is not what I would call ideal. Once I was seen, the NP was nice enough, but not overly kind or caring. Got a flu test & had her check me out only to tell me that I just had a virus & that she wasn't even going to prescribe me anything. She recommended Tylenol... *sigh* read more

I agree with Jackie Y regarding that there isn't much variance between each CVS as it is large corporation but I felt compelled to share that the customer service at this location has always been a cut above the best. Whether I'm picking up a prescription or making a pitstop for a toothbrush or gummy bears... everyone has always been helpful and noticeably friendly. Some may say that this basic business practice but I can assure you that it is actually a rarity these days... The prices are a bit higher than some other pharmacies but the "rewards" and coupons offer up some pretty fantastic deals too. read more

The pharmacy literally closed their window on me as I was WAITING on line to get my very important prescription. With no explanation, manners or grace I had to ask" uhm are you closing" as I'm standing in front of them waiting to pick up. And all they replied was "yes we're closed". So PETTY, unethical and disrespectful. I've worked restaurant jobs where I "think" I get to go home at 7pm but if people are on line or eating I'm not going to all of a sudden pack up shop in a rude and manner and walk out the building. And they work in healthcare! I will be back tomorrow to pick up my prescription and that is the last time I will be doing business there. You can tell they did it to "prove a point". I hope they enjoyed pulling into the driveway 5 minutes earlier tonight at the expense of people not getting their medication who were waiting on line. I would love a response and explanation. This is a review for the Minute Clinic inside this CVS. The CVS itself, like all CVSes, is negative million stars. Before leaving for Yelp Spring Break, I had to get a manicure. I went to some place I go to somewhat regularly in Austin. I noticed that a couple days after manicure, not only was my polish chipping, but my cuticles hurt. Like 90% of them. I had never had this phenomena occur before and took some Advil and thought nothing of it. Fast forward to day two in Nashville and my left middle finger is a throbbing, oozing mess of disgusting. Of course, I still waited until the next day, after shopping, coffee, and ice cream, to do anything about it. Looked up on the Yelp app for a CVS, cross-referenced with the Minute Clinic website, called ahead to make sure they were open and shared an Uber with Ang over there. I say a little prayer to the Minute Clinic gods that there is no one in front of me and lo, there was not! What luck! I go and proceed to checking in, and get all the way to the part about insurance cards and whatnot when I remember, though I was so proud of myself for remembering to bring my health insurance and FSA card on a trip (I'm all growed up!), they were locked safety away in the our hotel room safe, at least a $12 Uber round trip away. Before I can agonize over this too long, the nice PA calls me back. I show her what's what and she says I need antibiotics at this point and not an amputation--yay! She doesn't even make me get on the scale and has to script called into the adjoining pharmacy before we even sort out the insurance BS. She lets me charge my phone and fumble around with insurance company to try to get the info. Of course, I call Aetna and they want my member id before speaking to me and I'm like, that's why I'm calling you--here's an idea for useful automated system--you call, enter in all those secret number you know (SSI, DOB, etc.) and they just give you your member ID. Anyway, all's well that ends well. Mostly. After leaving the lovely PA, I go to the first aid aisle for what seems like an eternity looking for the items I need to keep my finger safe and clean. Where are the finger cots? Had to have assistance to find those. Who needs buy one get one on antibiotic cream? Where is the soap? Go to get cleaned up and bandaged and of course, the CVS bathroom is third world status--stinky, dirty, damp, and crowded. In my haste to leave, I even left behind my antibacterial soap that I had just bought. D'oh! As I'm leaving to grab another Uber, which would turn out to be my worst, a woman is stuck at the automated checker at CVS, waiting and waiting for help that seems will never arrive. Stupid CVS. Negative a million stars. Thankful for you, you have Minute Clinic pulling up your average. read more

I have been previously unimpressed with this CVS and had planned to write about it, but now that I am writing about it I have done a 180. This is due to the actions of two great customer service experiences. 1. I came in to pick up a prescription recently and had to wait in line, there were just a few people in front of me but there was an issue finding a prescription and I had been waiting for longer than usual. An employee offered me and everyone else in line a free bottle of water because we had to wait a few extra minutes. 2. A few days later I had another prescription to pick up but was getting ready for a trip so I started looking for a carabiner for my backpack. A young employee tried to help me find it but we were unable to. When he asked his other co-worker (manager, maybe) the other co-worker took his own carabiner off of his keys and gave it to me. I know these seem like small acts of kindness, but I think that goes above and beyond regular customer service. I will enjoy going back. read more

They never answer the phone. They take days to fill a simple urgent prescription. Every time I go to pick up my prescriptions they can't find them. The pharmacists are rude every time. When they lose a prescription they say "it was filled a while ago" but I only got the notification it was filled that morning and when I go in the day before to ask it wasn't ready. Everything is an inconvenience to them. I really fear for my health filling medication here and will be moving. Count your pills. Make sure what you get is correct. They seem to just be overrun and unprepared for the volume of costumers. I don't know how it's legal how they are operating. read more

CVS to the rescue! I wish the pharmacy had longer hours, but they are absolutely great about taking care of their customers. The few times I have run into issues (usually my fault), they have gone out of their way to make sure I received my prescriptions. I love that if I am feeling sickly I can pop in to the Minute Clinic drop my script off at the pharmacy and buy myself some feel-better treats (candy aisle!) while waiting for my script to be filled. The "as seen on tv" aisle is also a great way to pass the time. read more

The Pharmacist who helped me was outstanding, I can't say enough thanks, without the experience with her I'd be shattered. I should have gotten her name but she was so matter of fact about helping me and other people were waiting. I can't say the same for the Clinic, which was awful. The young women was incredibly rude and condescending. She defied what past Doctors had told me, and treated me like a low IQ idiot. I would never return to her under any circumstances. I left feeling violated, angry and hurt. They will also pressure you to take to stab, which has nothing to do with the visit. Can't say enough awful things, just stay away. Oh and the Kiosk to sign in was just as awful, didn't repsond, would reset spontaneously, overall just a horrible experience that added to my sense of loss. read more

Unorganized and bad communication to customers. Sold me the wrong prescription, then said I could come right back for a refund and to pick up the correct medication. Neglected to say that I had to bring the incorrect medication back (in the past I had been told by pharmacists that I cannot return medication), and they did not have a refill of the correct prescription available. Staff remained unapologetic throughout the process and this was not the first time I've had problems at this location. read more

My order was put in yesterday to pick up from the pharmacy. I called 30 mins after they opened the lady on the phone said she was working on my order right at the moment. She told me it would be ready in 15 mins. To give her a lil extra time i came in 40 mins. The parking is already annoying, so i come into the store and she says my order isn't ready it will be 15mins. This is very inconvenient for me as the order was supposed to be ready yesterday. This CVS is not all that bad. I'm usually not a fan of chained stores, but this one tends to get it right. Anytime I have needed something that I couldn't find, an employee led me to it. They didn't just point, they walked me. Maybe not everyone at the store does that, but it has been nice. I am usually here to pick up prescriptions for my medication. The wait for a pickup, if not ready, is usually 10-15 minutes. Also note that on busier days, the line gets long for pickup, but it doesn't get too bad. Moves nicely! Otherwise, it's a smooth sailing place. Great location too. For a place that I have to go to, I don't mind it at all! read more

2013/018 The distinctive thing about a CVS (to me, anyway) is how low the shelves are. To the vertically-challenged like me, that should be a bonus. And yet, my inner conspiracy theorist tells me it's so their security cameras can watch my every move. All kidding aside, I am somewhat skeeved by the low shelving. This CVS is conveniently located near the Vandy campus. And I don't frequent CVS stores enough to know if pre-packaged lunches and food items that they have here are specifically because of the clientele, or if they're always available at all of their locations. They also have some sort of self-checkout area, which are set up somewhat differently than the U-Scans at grocery stores. Other than that, the place has your usual drug store items. And it gets busy during lunch. read more

First...Ive been forced to stop dealing with Walgreens by my cheap employer who switched us to CVS Caremark for 2021. This review is for both the prescription plan, and the pharmacy in Nashville. They won't work with you. There is no empathy. There is no sense of urgency. After multiple mistakes by my doctor, and Caremark, the phrase favored by their reps and pharmacy techs is "its not our fault". One tech was actually friendly and helpful (after waiting a half hour on hold to get one) but it turns out that she did not do her job completely which opened the door for my doctor to screw up. In the span of 10 minutes, I get a text saying they are working with my doctor, another saying I am not eligible for a refill for another month, and that my prescription is ready for pickup. I call, there was an issue with what my DR sent, but they cleared it up and would text me when it was ready. 4 days later, no text. I call and get someone else who is rude, interrupts, and said multiple times "it's not my fault!". I will be changing to my wife's medical plan and WILL NEVER GIVE CVS ANOTHER DIME OF MY BUSINESS. read more

After today's visit I will be switching to a new pharmacy. The customer service has gotten so out of control. I called this morning to have my prescription refilled, I am very pregnant and sick so I came in a little early to get it. After standing at the pick up line for 15 minutes after making eye contract with the pharmacy tech without being acknowledged, a bald man grunts, "didn't see you," and let me know it wasn't ready, which wasn't a problem. I found a couple items I needed and waited. Once it was ready, he calls my name and slams down my medication on the counter. I asked if I could buy my couple other items there too, as I have in the past, and he immediately gets frustrated and shouts that I need to check in at the front. I asked the girl at the normal check out if this was normal policy, and she said no. What happened to a hello, or thank you, or God Forbid a smile? Get yourself together. read more

I pick up candy and anti-depressants at this CVS. Occasionally, I get an energy drink if it is THAT kind of day. They have everything you would expect and more. I find it strange that a pharmacy/drug store that should be focused on health carries cigarettes. They do not, however, carry rolling papers. Weird. I refuse to get a CVS card and the employees always have a card they will scan to save you some money. If you need some pills and this place is close, you won't go wrong here. read more

If you go to this pharmacy, count your pills at the counter before you leave. The pharmacy has someone who has been shorting me pills for the past like 3 months and every time I complain they won't admit to it. I stupidly waited to count them until I opened the bag at home instead of in front of them (I'm always rushing around with how much I work) and I've found it happened again. The bag was stapled shut and being opened for the first time when I counted everything. When I called to tell them this, they said they counted and I'm wrong. I will be filing a police report because this is not ok. I need that medication to do simple things like driving and I could get into an accident if I go a day without taking it. read more

I don't write that many Yelp reviews but had to review this CVS because it's honestly one of my favorite things about this neighborhood. What's awesome about this CVS? - It's open 24 hours a day. - It's got plentiful, free parking (not always a given in midtown) and you don't even have to walk outside between your car and the store which is a plus in poor weather - A relatively good selection of random odds and ends you may need at 3am, like groceries, hardware/household products, even some clothing - It's got self-checkout available all day long, and the self-checkout actually works - meaning you can get in, pick up a loaf of bread, and checkout and be on your way in less than a minute - Minute Clinic. I've only been once but it was fast and really helpful. I see people complaining about lines in other reviews - I visit this CVS nearly every day (no joke) and have seen the Minute Clinic area empty much more often than I've seen it jammed full. In short, I love this CVS and wish I could take it with me when I move across town. Definitely the best CVS I've ever lived near. read more

CVS is close to Vandy and used by many undergrads as a mini supermarket of sorts. They re-did the store in 2011-ish updating it so it felt less like a cave by improving lighting and giving the place a much needed cleaning. Avoid it at all costs the week undergrads move in as it's mobbed. The CVS ExtraCare card gets you really good perks and the place includes a Minute Clinic which I've used. The women who staff it could use some Prozac as 'happy' isn't on the list of descriptors I would use for them, but they get the job done. Parking is convenient and free for 2h but it is in the same place as Vandy Parking office, so you know they would love to give you a monster parking ticket. read more

This is a very unhelpful pharmacy department. My child is a student and has never been sick before so does not know our crazy health care system. A presription for a normal antibiotic was not filled because the doctor wrote too many. It was late and he was sick. He tried to to fill it two other times and was told to come back-not that there was a problem. When they did flll it it was late and the doctors office was closed. He was ill and bought 17 pills of an antiboitic that should have cost 10 dollars for 350 dollars. This is for a normal generic antibiotic. What the pharmacist should have done was sold him two pills and called the doctor the next day. The pharmacist at this store took advantage of a young kid who was sick. read more

Very conveniently located across from Vanderbilt's campus, the CVS on 21st is a good place to stop in quick and run an errand (for me, an errand usually means a snack). They are located in a building with a garage in the rear for the other businesses in the building, so if you can't find street parking, I'd recommend using their 1 hour parking. There's usually an attendant monitoring the spaces, so you can't get away with leaving your car there for a longer time. I've never used their pharmacy, but it's usually frequented by Vanderbilt students who either don't know about or don't trust Student Health on the campus (or they need s scrip filled)...this seems to be the busiest part of the store. I try and use the self-scan at the rear of the store with the fear of screwing something up and having to wait for an employee to enter my weird coupon or non-scannable item. This is because for whatever reason, they seem to only keep one cashier at the front and call others as backup. Everytime I am here there seems to be an ever-growing line, so even if you're quick with your shopping, it might not be the fastest method checking out. read more

The first time I went there, I gave the woman my insurance card, and she looked at it for 5 minutes before telling me it wasn't the right card. turns out it was, and instead of apologizing, she continued to make it seem like my fault because she didn't want to seem like an idiot (she was). Every time I've been to this minute clinic I have to end up waiting over an hour to be seen. Today I got there at 9am and there was only one guy in front of me and it took them an hour and forty five minutes to finish and for her to call me inside. I kept having to excuse myself and puke out in the garage. I was so sick. Once seen, the experience is fine- the nurses are friendly, but waiting an hour or more is just ridiculous in my opinion- especially when this clinic is next to a university- they should expect high volume and be prepared to assist people who desperately need to be seen. read more

They tell me the wrong pickup time for my medication, tell me they have my medicine and then "don't have it in stock" when I get there for pickup, painfully slow service, and mess up my insurance information.
