CVS FROM HELL! The CVS off Beaudry and Sunset is an absolute nightmare. I stopped by for a few hygiene items and snacks for my place, the service couldn't have been worse. The staff brushes you off when you ask them a question and try to get rid of you. Only one younger Hispanic gentleman was super kind. Everyone else was hostile, defeated, and didn't want to be there on a late Thursday night. I was grossed out by the black carpet and stains on the floor. I can't believe the general manager allows this to happen. I will not be returning. The patrons at this CVS are also foul and the vibe is ghetto. One good note: They had inclusive merchandise! Despite its convenient location I will never return. It's getting more ghetto here everyday. I was again assaulted inside the store. Verbally accosted, a can of soda was thrown at me and I was threatened with physical abuse when I left the store. All for asking a woman if she was in line for self checkout. read more

his is my chosen CVS for prescriptions and for the most part, most items stay in stock and are not locked up like those prison branches that might as well close and serve through a window on the side of the building. The only problem I have was my discovery, regarding the Pharmacy. I was headed to work, around 8:30a and the galaxy wasn't open. To my surprise they open at 10a. Ummm...why? I do get that a lot of people in this neighborhood are work from home folks, but wouldn't they like their prescriptions a little earlier than 10a if they're sick? I don't get it. It feels lazy, since there could easily be 2 shifts overlapping, but this is what they came up with. In the meantime, the rest of have to pick up prescriptions after work. I bought an eye solution here and then got allergies. I went back to the cvs just wanted to have a little consultation from the pharmacist here because I was in pain and did not know what to do. I waited here at the glass window for 30 minutes, but all the pharmacists ignored me. I saw around 5 people here and some of them were chatting but no one offered to help me even if I waved at them and smiled at them. I was just ignored. The CVS itself is whatever, it's a CVS in DTLA (definitely not a battle royale as one other person called it) so if you know DTLA... it's a little better than what you'd expect. The one star is for the pharmacy itself. The head guy (asian man) working there was unbelievably patronizing and rude. I have an anxiety disorder and have been taking medication to treat it for several years. My very first time picking up from this location, my brother went and got it for me with no issues, using a picture of the front & back of my GOV issued I.D. 2nd time, I picked it up myself the same way. 3rd time... the lady tries to tell me she (suddenly) can't give me my Ativan without the physical copy. I tell her that isn't the case, she calls boss man over... let the attitudes ensue. I'm waiting for my renewal I.D to come in the mail, a process which takes 3-4 weeks. He then tries to argue with me about it not taking that long, saying he's done it before, blah blah blah. He then says they're not supposed to give it to me but per California law, they can. As long as there's an I.D for the controlled substance.. it's then up to the discretion of said pharmacy. I was out of state for a while and couldn't get my meds in AZ so I had a friend pick them up for me from Vons Pharmacy/CVS (the Ativan was going through a shortage, so different pharmacies needed for my prescriptions) with photos of my I.D and LITERALLY mail them to me. No issues. So it wasn't a matter of them NOT being able to give it to me, they just didn't want to. At the end of it I did walk out with all of my prescriptions but not before they gave me an extremely hard time for them. Mental health impacts people differently, that interaction could've ended a lot worse on both ends. I didn't ask for my new I.D to be delayed and I definitely didn't ask for these health issues. read more

I retired as a Ca attorney making a statement under penalty of perjury. This negative review is about CVS located on 812 S Grand Ave Los Angeles CA 90017. This compliant is against pharmacy manager Eric Kwon- mismanagement/mistraining/self negligence. I have 3 ongoing medications for life. I clarified more than 5X with pharmacy manager Eric Kwon from the beginning. There shouldn't be any mistake. On 6/3 I went to pick up one of medication , which I noticed it was PREPARED based on incorrect prescription. My PCP made correction right away. I asked to delete the incorrect prescription in the system to avoid any future confusion. On 6/3 the female technician Taheel B said it was processed according to the Dr's prescription, which should be obsoleted long times ago. Then the second issue is there is not enough supply so it needed to be ordered. It take 2 days . I was very upset. She didn't have name card on her uniform another violation I asked her name to temporary pharmacist Nghi T, who was hesitant to give. I anksed her. She wrote " saying I don't care". I also asked Kwon to call me on 6/4. He called after I contacted 3X saying " you should be patience, nothing to apologize on my part. '. It is simple order you created hostile environment' ' we can't serve you." Horrible customer service! This person will always respond this way whenever he screws up .. Having a conversation with him is talking with high school teenager. Irresponsible! Incompetent! Unprofessional! I didn't plan this but I filed a case against Kwon at CA Board of Pharmacy to former investigation his fitness as a health provider. I hope store manager Pretty/ CVS corporation reevaluated his completence. Horrible! Shame on you. Just be vigilant with these people! This is harrassment! read more

Love that they just opened a Minute Clinic here and it is easy to get an appointment, even on the same day. The people who work here are also super nice and professional. Also, you can just walk up to the pharmacy and get a flu shot or COVID booster shot in the spot! I was in and out in 10 minutes! read more

Out of all the CVS pharmacies in the greater downtown Los Angeles area this is by far the best I have been to. It is clean, well stocked, brightly lit and the employees are great. Gaby, in the pharmacy, always makes me feel welcome and you can tell her positive attitude is genuine. Eric Kwan and Briana Stapornkul, the pharmacists, are incredibly competent and go that extra mile to help. They have called me on more than one occasion just to make my life a little more convenient. They've also helped me out when I run out of medication or needed something on short notice. One of my medications is a controlled substance that is for a particular condition I have and I have never felt judged when picking it up. Quite the opposite actually. When they ask me how I'm doing or if I need anything or have any questions I know it is genuine. That's important to me and I don't tell them enough how much I appreciate it. I don't even live near this particular CVS anymore but I still make a point to get everything taken care of here. It is definitely worth the extra travel time. Also, in a lot of the other stores downtown 3/4 of the items are behind a locked case. That is not the case akin this CVS. Nearly everything is accessible and if something does happen to be locked up the employees are prompt when requested. read more

I'm so glad that this new CVS is open in downtown LA. Up until now, there was only a CVS in the sketchier part of downtown, but this one feels safer as it is right in an area of downtown closer to South Park, which is becoming gentrified with high-end condos, a new Dunkin' Donuts and a Whole Foods Market which opened in 2016. Sort of frustrating though is that some of the products on the shelves are locked up so that you have to bother a cashier to get it for you. I tried to buy a curling iron and that was the case and the cashier had to leave the register despite their being a line in order to unlock the shelf display so the item could be removed. I'm sure this is necessary since it is in downtown LA and theft would otherwise be rampant. read more

[PARKING INFO] The entrance of the CVS free parking is located on Grand Ave (oneway street toward south). Their lots are on the second floor of the same building. The parking validation is just for 30 minutes. If you are there for vaccination, the girl staff was slow, so it's better ask to the male pharmacists to be done fast in 25 minutes. Your validation is given at the casher. The sign of Joe's Public Parking, probably doing the management of the parking, reads "$6 MAX after 4PM" and "$6 Saturday and Sunday", and I was charged $12 after 4PM on Sunday. There's no parking staff to talk to. So be aware of that you will be charged $12 (not $6) on the weekend if your car stay there more than 30 minutes. read more

I can tell they put a lot of care into making sure their location is in top shape and clean. They have a security guard there that I absolutely love. Have to come to this one because it's the closest but customer service needs work. They don't auto-fill anything. Even if your doctor sends it over; you have to either call them and tell them you'd like them to fill the prescription the doctor sent or show up and THEN they fill the prescription. My doctor called in a prescription 4 hours ago and yet my order wasn't filled. I always have to wait 10-30 minutes for them to fill it. I honestly had low expectations for this cvs because the other one in Dtla is pretty sketchy... but to my surprise this is one of the cleanest cvs I've been to. It is very organized and they usually have more than one register open. They do have a parking lot that you can use. This is close to my place so I always walk here, the workers are friendly and very helpful. The sale items clear up pretty quickly but sometimes they have some in the back - always try asking if you don't see it. I've had too many experiences now waiting in line and dealing with a particularly rude manager who doesn't seem to understand that I and others don't want to stand around and read our email when we've come in to shop for specific items that drugstores sell. Why they don't immediately provide more checkers I don't know, and why the managerI dealt with did not go and act as a cashier instead of standing around jawing with the security guard reminds me of how annoying it can be to shop at this store. I had an appointment at the Minute Clinic at 11:10am on Sunday, June 25th. I received the text message saying the pharmacy would text me when my prescription was ready. After 4 hours, I decided to call for an update; no answer. I go to the store at 4:30pm (they close at 5:00pm). The man working was nice, however he informed me that my medication was not in stock and had to be ordered. It will be ready tomorrow. No one called to share this with me. He apologized. Today I called after 3pm because again, I've not received any communication from the pharmacy. The woman I spoke to was also nice. She said my prescription is ready. I tell her yet again I received no phone call. She apologized and then advices that I call some 800 number to see why I'm not getting text message updates. The customer service is sub par. I pray I don't need prescriptions often, but I most certainly won't be returning to this location which is unfortunate because it is close to my house. They can and should do better. read more
