Absolutely rude pharmacist. We ended up at CVS on La Jolla Blvd and were given amazing service! Eads, you need to do better!

Store does not adhere to posted hours of operation, doors locked at least 15 minutes prior to posted hours. Staff (at least 2 employees seen) inside and apparently re-stocking while front door is locked. "Staffing shortages" according to surely employee. Not sure how many people it takes to staff a CVS, but apparently more than 2. read more

Went to get an item with my 40% off coupon. I was feeling like ice cream, so I checked and at 40% off, some of the name brand ice creams were really good value. The store is well lit, clean and very organized. I used the self checkout lane, which I believe is faster than waiting for the clerk. It's a typical CVS store. My hundred year old father needed diabetic medicine they did not have it in so they ignored the doctors request. Three days later I finally had to call another CVS and have it transferred to Eads. The staff had not tried to facilitate any part of this transaction. This weekend my medication which was on automatic refill was out of stock. They neither tried to get it in in a timely manner nor alerted me to the problem until two days later. I called twice over the weekend and the automated response said someone would call me back. No one did. Then I received a text on Monday that it would be ready at 6:00. Next text said insurance would not cover and they would try again in two weeks. It just got worse. Is it supposed to be this difficult. I will try an online pharmacy after this. I had good luck with Highland Pharmacy in Georgia... I'll call again. read more

The people at the register are friendly and patient. Sometimes I forget my glasses and they have helped w my checkout. Love the Essie nail polish selection and beautiful earring selection for the free ear piercing. This is a CVS I prefer because the line is not crazy long. As of September 2025, despite talks with regional management, CVS Pharmacy on Eads Ave. remains problematic. Filling prescriptions in a timely manner isn't something to count on. Dr. prescribed important medication for pneumonia, CVS on Eads texted: "It's too early to fill RX...we will retry filling it...in six days." Thankfully, the other CVS on La Jolla Villa Dr. filled the prescription immediately. read more

The Pharmacist Jeffrey was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional! As a customer of over 20 years at this location, I have never experienced such menacing behavior from a CVS employee. I believe that he has reached his breaking point, b/c his rudeness and childish antagonism is indicative of either a substance abuse problem or some level of mental illness... When I asked the Pharmacist Jeffery to please control himself, because his behavior was unbecoming of a health care professional, he started moving his hands with a thumbs up gesture, while antagonizing me and making fun of me like a little child. His temper tantrum was witnessed by a long line of patients and store management. Therefore, I spoke with 2 female Assistant Managers and the GM Jose. I was told that they receive "up to 10 complaints per day" about the Pharmacist Jeffrey! When I asked why something has not been done yet, they responded, "Due to staffing shortages, he is the only Pharmacist that [they] can get." Unfortunately, he knows that, so he proceeds to behave atrociously knowing that he will not be transferred nor lose his job... Management essentially told me that they would need to "shut down the pharmacy" if they got rid of the Pharmacist Jeffrey. I subsequently filed a formal complaint with CVS Corporate Executives in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. They assured me that the District Manager Wolfgang would contact me within 48 hours with an apology and a plan to rectify the situation. Guess what?... I never received a phone call from the District Manager Wolfgang, nor do I expect to receive one anytime soon. read more

This location is being remodeled which is part of the reason why the stars are so low but hopefully it will be better a little bit afterwards however I doubt I would give more than 3 stars even if it was in good order. The parking lot is a total wreck. It is super cramped and doubles as paid public parking so finding a spot is nearly impossible. I got lucky and saw someone going to their car and sat and waited for them to leave otherwise I probably wouldn't have found a spot and wouldn't have come in here. Once I was in the store was a wreck. I'm honestly not sure why they are still open for business during the remodel. There was just crap everywhere and most of the shelves were emptied. I wanted to grab a beauty item and there was maybe a 1 foot space between what I wanted and remodel supplies. I was able to reach what I needed and then moved on. It seems as if they should have blocked that section off. I grabbed a couple of other items and went to cash out. The check out doesn't have great signs to show that there is only one line and where it starts so people were waiting elsewhere and when staff told them where the line was they were frustrated and just dropped their stuff and left. I tried to use the self check out and it got stuck on the previous person and the staff member had an issue fixing it but then opted to ignore me to continue a conversation with a coworker so I had to get back in line to cash out. This entire trip was just a wreck. Hopefully the remodel is done quickly and they can get it together for better experiences. read more

As a physician, I try to do what is best for my patients. The male pharmacist at this CVS clearly doesn't have the same goal. He is rude, dismissive, and unwilling to help. He simply refused to give my patient the antibiotics that were needed because it wasn't electronically ordered. Well, it was the weekend, and the computer system was down, so clearly a provider should be able to call in a prescription! I made a group appt for Covid boosters and was greeted with rudeness and told they would only give two shots an hour. We had made reservations for three people online and had all the confirmation texts. We were told to leave the counter and seat against the wall. While sitting we heard the pharmacy staff be horribly rude to two more customers. The pharmacist Jeff NG told them not to come back to his pharmacy. Another female employee was adding into the insults to the customers. We are so happy with other cvs locations, but the brand of vaccine we needed wasn't given there. All and all they were rude and unprofessional. I was embarrassed that I had taken my 92 year old mom there. read more

CVS Pharmacy (7525 Eads, La Jolla , CA) As a physician who has practiced medicine for over 25 years, I have never experienced a pharmacist as unprofessional as Jeffrey Ng. What should have been a simple interaction that I perform multiple times per day was made onerous for no reason. Jeffrey was extremely rude, unnecessarily difficult, and then hung up on me while I was trying to ensure my patient received his prescription. If this is how he treats a provider, I would hate to see how he treats patients. I wonder if there are drug or mental health issues going on with Jeffrey that should be investigated by his employer. He has no business working in the health care industry. I will be directing my patients elsewhere while he remains employed at CVS. read more

Got a stomach virus and didn't know how to remedy it. Learned from a helpful Asian male pharmacist that Loperamide Hydrochloride was the solution to the runs. Picked up a pack of the Anti-Diarrheal caplets and it resolved the non stop bathroom runs in no time. Haven't got a prescription from there yet. I got no less than 6 robocalls. They have a system. In the store that calls you and also the corporate store that calls you a when you call the pharmacist and ask for help. She then says and I quote you'll have to call corporate. So my suggestion is don't use their Pharmacy. Otherwise, you're going to get calls all day and all night, even though you told him you're picking up the prescription you're going to get phone call after phone call. They can't seem to fix it. And the pharmacist is clueless on how to handle it. I would not recommend this pharmacy Keep in mind I haven't even picked up my prescription and I just happen to be out of town. I'm moving my prescriptions to a new Pharmacy. I just can't believe that you would harass customers through automated systems and then tell him that they have to call corporate to fix it. So I ordered 20 photo tiles for same day pick up last night. I went the following morning at 8:30am. I received 2 emails from CVS notifying me that my order was ready, once around 7pm and again around 12am. I came to the counter and asked Norma, the sales associate, for my order. I gave her my name and sales order number and she told me that she didn't have the order. I told her that I paid $215 for the photos, and I pointed to an 8 x 8 photo box and I said it was that size. I told her 3 times that I ordered 20, a 8 pack and a 12 pack. She found the ordered and told me that it wasn't ready and I needed to wait 10 minutes, I said ok, and then asked her if she found all 20. She said no, you only have 8. I repeated again that I have 2 sets, I just told you that I have an 8 and a 12, making 20 tiles total. She proceeded to get an attitude with me saying "ok ma'am, I am just trying to help you with your order." I said, "you don't need to get an attitude with me. I'll be back in 10 minutes." So I went to my car and set a 15 minute timer. Now, mind you, there were 2 people at the front checking people out. When I came back 15 minutes later, I waited in line for Norma again. I told he that I was her for my order, and she hadn't even started it! She said "what, I'm only one person!" I just stayed waiting another 20 minutes, not leaving so that she would actually do my order. When she saw I wasn't leaving, she then called 2 other sales associates up to help her, Skyla and another gentleman. Then a third man proceeded to come to the front to help! I had two people just working for 20 minutes in front of me actually putting my order in the tiles. And I tried to tell her that if she just gives me the photos and the tiles that I could put them together myself and she said "no, we have to put them in the tiles." I walked over to the 4th worker when he went over to do something with the coolers and I asked him what Norma's name was and told him that she was extremely rude to me. He said "sorry, ma'am." When they were done laughing and putting my order together, Norma pushed the two bags over the counter and I looked at her and said "thank you, Norma," and she completely ignored me with a straight face. There was no apology for the order last night not being ready for same day pick up, no thank you for waiting, no sorry that I didn't have it done in the 10 minutes I told you to wait, no thank you for using CVS, no have a nice day and no goodbye. I just got nasty looks and attitude. Why on earth would anyone want a person like that working for them is beyond me. What horrible customer service. I will be going else elsewhere for my pharmacy and photo needs. read more

I've tried to be patient with this location but have now decided to switch all my prescriptions to another pharmacy. Repeated mistakes with my refills, failed attempts to contact my doctor as promised, and rude staff. Last night, I was trying to reach the pharmacy. First attempt,I was on hold for 27 minutes. Second attempt, 22 minutes. Third attempt (it was an urgent issue) FORTY SIX minutes!!!!! Completely unacceptable! I never got to speak to anyone at all! Not even the front of the store staff! I don't currently have a prescription to pick up at CVS, yet this place robo-calls me MULTIPLE TIMES PER DAY to tell me I have a prescription to pick up there and this has been going on for weeks. This is so unacceptable. I have called multiple times to tell them to stop calling me. The person I talked to said they would, and they never removed me bc they're still calling. I was a customer at one time, but it is unacceptable and basically harrassment to abuse access to my telephone number to call me multiple times daily on their stupid automated system. Called yesterday spoke with a pharmacist that confirmed my name and told me my prescription was ready for pick up. When I came the next day they told me it's on hold and not ready and they needed to add my insurance. All of this information I wish was conveyed in my initial phone call. I didn't ask for her name on the phone because it was a simple yes confirmation. This time I asked for the pharmacists name because she told me it would be ready in a half hour I told her I couldn't stay(again this should have been a quick pick up) hence why I called a day in advance. For some context - I go to this pharmacy because it's walking distance from my home. Not because its anything special. I take a daily antiviral which is critical to my health and on-time dosage is CRUCIAL for me. For the last two months I have had discrepancy between my prescriber and this particular CVS EADS branch. They have told me on two occasions including today when I spoke to their horrible manager "Jeffrey" (not my first rude encounter with this indifferent and literally cruel person who should not be working in healthcare at all) I told him I am almost out of my prescription and this was the second time they told me they had not gotten approval from my doctor that I had any refills left. Both times I had called my provider and they sent it right over stating that the amount of refills I had were at least 10. This proves to me that there is an issue with the system at CVS. And not just internally with their OLD technology but their staffing is even more repulsive. When I tried to express my stress to Mr. Manager! Jeffrey - that I get viral outbreaks when I am under stress and need my refill - he said sarcastically and awfully "welcome to the wonderful world of healthcare in the US" when I asked his name, he arrogantly gave me his position and egged me on to leave him the review he really deserved. This phone call took place less than 30 minutes ago. I urge upper management to Please listen to the conversation I had with this man and seriously reconsider the position you gave this obviously young and entitled man. Shocked at how cruel this world has gotten. You as healthcare providers should be really pushing for the betterment of people in our positions and it's strange how I have to even say that! read more

The pharmacist Jeff Ng is very rude to customers. Went there to pick up a prescription for the first time and heard him give the customer in front of me a hard time. He was unhelpful and argumentative. The customer left without their prescription and very upset. I don't know what was going on but I feel that he did not have any compassion or bedside manors. Whatever the situation was it could have been handled differently. Everyone in line saw and heard how badly he treated the customer so unprofessional!! I feel bad for that customer and hope it never happens to anyone else. I was fortunate I did not have to have him go over my medications. I got his name before I left.
