They never answer and when they do it's horrible attitudes and they have no way in really helping

I have used AHF pharmacy as long as I can remember, at least twenty years now. The staff has always been very knowledgeable, helpful and kind. AHF calls my doctor when I need refills and even sent a medication to me while I was on vacation. It is very helpful to receive texts that my orders are ready. When my doctors prescribe a new medication for me, they usually have it ready by the next day. I don't know who else to depend on if I didn't have AHF. read more

For 10 years, AHF treated me with courtesy and professionalism. My medication was always on time. About 2 years ago, I started having to call and remind them that I was scheduled for recurring monthly deliveries. Not all the time. But probably every 3 months. I would ask what happened.. they would say that my order " fell off" . Not sure what that means. I probably never will. Earlier this year, they stopped shipping to my house because their carrier changed delivery area.. But they didn't tell me. So, I had to track them down and set up delivery to my po box. That's when things got ridiculous. They just stopped shipping automatically altogether. I had to call almost every month to remind them I was a customer set up for recurring shipments. This month, they did their regular disappearing act. So, I called. They said " I fell off again " lol. So I begged them to ship because now, because of them, I don't have any extra medicine. Well, a week went by and it didn't show up. I called and they told me they were sorry and said they didn't understand why a label was created but it never left the pharmacy. I told them " maybe it fell off" they agreed lol. It fell off again lol. This place appears to hate its customers. They are nice on the phone. Don't get me wrong. But that's all they are at this point. Nice people on the phone who don't understand that these medicines are life and death to some people. These aren't pepperoni pizzas people. I have cancelled my subscription with them after over 10 years. I left them a review on their website. And I respectfully informed them of why i canceled on the phone. Knowing how incoherent they are, I expect that they will post the same stock notification they put under everyone else's bad review because they just aren't coherent enough to comprehend that i have no intention of explaining to them what they're doing wrong anymore because it doesn't matter. read more

This Pharmacy should have an aggregate 5 star rating. I've never been to a pharmacy so dedicated to its patients' health, nor one that has helped more than a "big box" pharmacies ever could. AHF is not a Corporation. They are non-profit. The work they do to help save lives in their communities, and for patients with multiple conditions, is incredible. The absolute worst pharmacy. Whatever you can do to avoid this place - DO IT. The only reason I'm handcuffed to this junkyard of biased, judge mental pharmacists is because of their hours and location. They will do everything they can to prevent you from receiving your medication if they don't agree with it. None of them are on the same page regarding their policies. Extreme lack of consistency, respect, empathy, and SAFETY of patients. It's only this location specifically, the others are great, but hours vary. Can't wait to move away so filling a script isn't an exhausting anxiety inducing nightmare every time. read more

I love AHF pharmacy for a variety of reasons. First off, I attended their sponsored Serenity Yoga class for almost ten years. This class is open to everyone but is focused on providing restorative yoga to HIV positive patients, individuals recovering from addiction, and anyone else who is in need of some TLC. As a result of this class, their amazing instructors (Jen & Daniel) and my genuine love of yoga and its benefits I ended up becoming a yoga instructor. As a thanks I changed pharmacies and I have been extremely happy with the service I have received. These folks do a lot for the community and the pride they take in their work is apparent. All of my deliveries have been timely and the staff are always helpful when I call. I now substitute teach for their yoga classes and let everyone know all the awesome positive ripples they make in the community. This is more than just a pharmacy. Since buying out the previous pharmacy and taking over, this place is a DISASTER! Everything I've read in the other 1-star reviews is true. It was clear that the old Hillcrest pharmacy in San Diego had sold out their patients when the mistakes and poor customer service began. One of the first things that happened was the text message spam. I did not give my permission for my number to be used for anything other than CALLS relating directly to filling my prescriptions. Then when I tried to call them about it, I repeatedly kept getting the General Voicemail, good thing it wasn't an emergency. When I finally reached someone, the bimbo couldn't even apologize. It wasn't 'oh I'm sorry, we'll remove your number ASAP', it was some lame 'well I'll talk to someone and see if that's possible'. I also asked for non-childproof caps, very basic request, but what did I get? F'ing childproof caps. I asked not to receive the patient education documentation for all my prescriptions, it's an encyclopedia of papers every month for meds I've taken for years, a mini FOREST of dead trees! Next, I get these HUGE bottles for tiny pills that aren't even enough to cover the bottom of the bottle, and others that only fill the bottle about 1/4 of the way. Another waste, more PLASTIC polluting the planet. They're auto filling prescriptions I've asked not to auto fill, and NOT auto filling prescriptions I need regularly. I'm am going to start transitioning my prescriptions away from this place. If I wanted service this bad I could go to Walmart. read more

I cannot believe no one has written a review about this pharmacy & the amazing staff too. They even have a sign at the counter ( Like us on Yelp, write a review ), well where are they my fellow Yelpers? If you know someone living with HIV/AIDS or other autoimmune diseases that go with the previous, be sure they utilize one of these in their area. The staff here at all of their locations are professional, compassionate, helpful, kind, and even the pharmacies eat the cost of meds not covered too. I always say, "It doesn't cost you anything to be nice!" ============================================================ For those of us living with HIV/AIDS (29 years ago today diagnosed-NEVER been sick!), pharmacies, staff and the insurance we have, thanks to Ryan White Care Act funding, ADAP (Aids Drug Assistance Program), Silver Script and others, we are able to obtain our meds at little or no cost. I'm proud to self disclose and, that I'm part of & have participated in MANY studies (because of my longevity with this disease) to look for a cure in my genes, genes which appear to keep me from becoming ill, passing the virus on to others and, keeping me as close as an HIV Negative person as possible. They have this pharmacy here in San Diego and the one I utilize in Gardena, (formally know as MOM'S Pharmacy). I praise ALL (myself included) who have led the fight for the Men, Women & Children, Nationally & Globally from inception until present day to insure that ALL infected will have the medications needed to combat this soon to be curable disease. Also, this pharmacy & affiliates, send returned meds to Africa & other impoverished countries to help those infected and those who were close to dying and now live and prosper. Too big for their own good now. I came on board years back when the pharmacy was Mom's, now AHF. Although the acquisition is favorable that the proceeds are going to a good cause ...the quality of service has taken a dose dive. "Out of stock", "back order" and "we'll have to get back to you on that" is simply unacceptable. When your regime calls for meds to be taken daily, online and not missing any doses ...you may want to take precautions and think twice with a big outfit like AHF. Free cell phone cards and other gifts were readily available to acquire my account but since then ...no contact. No customer out reach, no customer assessment for quality care and simply no customer service unless I raise my voice and insist on service to my account. Just another small outfit turned big corporate and now really sucks. I'll be shopping for another smaller mom and pop vendor for my meds to not be confused with being just another client account number for pharmaceuticals deep pockets. read more

AHF Pharmacy - STAMP OF REJECTED QUALITY CONTROL - Pharmacy Near Me - San Diego, California

So there is a new manager at AHF who tells me that she isn't concerned with reviews posted on Yelp. AHF will give you lip service and hollow words but they won't bother to fix the problems. They will go to any lengths to help you and as long as they don't have to actually help you. The pharmacy has screwed me on my medicines a full 50% of the time for the last two years. This month they decided to not mail my meds on time so that I had 5 days totally without meds. I still don't have my insulin. If you want constant disappointment then by all means let these people deliver your meds. And remember that the pharmacy manager doesn't care about bad reviews. She told me so in writing. This pharmacy is the worst I've ever been around. I've been left without prescriptions by the pharmacy staff choosing to not follow through on delivery. Kayley, the pharmacist, stated she called me Saturday, yet I have no messages or calls from my pharmacy. By 12:30 today, I called since no one bothered to reach out. In the past all my Medications were delivered by their staff or by UPS on the given day. Today I'm notified that they are using "Roadie" and can't find a driver 5+ hours and the pharmacist calls with a "tude" aggressive, interrupting and making excuses why my medication still hadn't been delivered. I've literally been neglected as a patient and will be filing a claim With the state board. This is now the 6th Event with this pharmacy of "forgetting" medicine, doing deliveries that don't end up happening and people letting a diabetic live without medication that was sent by a doctor 7 days prior. Don't bother trying to get this place to deliver less than 5 miles without being neglected. When you have guaranteed delivery and you don't deliver and don't even try to figure out a solution as a Pharmacist, you're putting me, your patient in harms weigh and forcing me to have to go to the emergency room Since you won't transfer my medications. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PHARMACY!!!!!! I was a customer of this pharmacy w/all its different name & managment changes for 8+ yrs. That is because of Christian who has excellent customer service skills & then later because of CeeCee & Louis (delivery drivers). BUT!!!! Since AHF has gotten on the scene & especially w/the new manager Rochie that pharmacy is a disaster!!! I have 1 rule w/my meds & thats that they all come in 1 package at 1 x so I can keep track of them. They are suppose to deliver every 30 days. BUT w/out me calling at least 1x per month to remind them of BOTH things they can neither remember to refill or to send all together even thought its in the computer saying just that! They also can't seem to figure out how to handle heavy duty narcotics either. Multiple times in last year they can't find my meds or scripts for them. My Morphine & Oxi are ONLY TO BE DELIVERED 1X per month. The reason I finally am writing this review & have left them is because instead of getting all meds same x, I got 3 different deliveries beginning of October, then on 10/30 I was informed they sent 2 sets of my meds supposedly 3 days apart (illegal) they didn't know about it till 25 days later, I did not see 2 sets of narcotic meds & now they expect me to go w/out for 30 days. Oh by the way I only signed for 1 delivery, but manager lied to doctor said she had 3 signatures when asked to provide proof then came up w/another lie cause only had 1 for 1 set of narcotics not 2! This is not the 1st time we've had problems w/them losing things thats why I'm so adamant about getting all together. Also a few months ago I started getting bills (90 days past due was 1st bill) from them on meds my insurance has always paid for. They also screwed up another prescription for Movanta & I've gone 3-4 months w/out, but new pharmacy got it for me same day!!! There is so much more I could say wrong about them!! I find it very odd that all the 1 star review posters except for 1, do not live in San Diego. I'm basing this review solely on my personal experience with the customer service and not something extraneous like "the parking sucks." I started bringing my prescriptions to AHF when Rite Aid in the burbs where I live would never have anything in stock. That Rite Aid also took 48 hours to request refills from my physician which seems odd in the age of fast information exchange. The pharmacy is a bit far from home, but they offer a FREE delivery service. Prescriptions are delivered to your address at ZERO charge. When people complain about "no parking" as their biggest gripe, I don't understand why they do not have their prescriptions delivered. Also, FYI, there is a parking lot behind the building in the alleyway that is FREE for people going to the pharmacy or the clinic next door, I've never had a problem finding a space, however, be warned! These are very narrow spaces so if you drive an SUV or anything larger than a hatchback, the space allocation will be extremely snug. read more

Used to be good - now they kind of suck. They used to be that kind of pharmacy that looked out for you, where you were treated like a valued customer. It was worth going to a place that had inconvenient hours and no parking because you were dealing with real customer service, not some place that used those words as 'marketing' (I'm looking at the big pharms for that one). Now they've sort of gone douchey, or something. Really: the only plus they had over other places was their customer service, but now they've gone all surly. Save your time, save your money, bite the bullet and go to one of the big box pharms because this place is kind of the pits. read more

During this whole COVID-19 thing I have tried my best not to review places but this one deserves it. This pharmacy is not the greatest they change rules constantly to benefit their needs. And if you need to pickup you're meds on a set date it's plain and obvious that a week advance notice is not enough time. They will lie to you and have a way of being politely rude so to speak. But then I guess they think it's okay and they will blame it on everyone except themselves. read more

Just went there for my first time to get PrEP and I have to say that the staff was very friendly and helpful. I look forward to continuing to come here. So it's been a couple weeks and working with this pharmacy far exceeds expectations. Was just on the phone with one of the pharmacists, Steve, who was exceedingly helpful in setting up automatic home delivery of medication. In general I'm finding this experience to be much better than dealing with big box places like Walgreens or CVS. These are real people who remember your name and help you out! I dropped off Rx's for eyedrops required for cataract surgery two weeks ago at which time I was told they were out of stock on one and would owe me 5ml. on another A few days ago I received a text message stating that my Rx's were ready for pickup. I wrongly assumed it was for the eyedrops that were out of stock. Upon arrival for pickup I was given the remaining eyedrops due me and my antiretrovirals which I didn't need as I'd just gotten a 30 day supply two weeks ago. I was informed that the other eyedrops had not been sent to MediCal for approval and that they could provide them for a cash cost but were still out of stock on them and rather than offering to phone other pharmacies for me recommended that I check with CVS which would have meant my walking in the rain. The pharmacist then intervened and informed me that my MediCal was not effective until May 1st and told me that I should have called them sooner to check on the Rx at which point I informed him of the generic text message that I'd received and assumed it was for the eyedrops. I'm now faced with rescheduling my cataract surgery and dealing with lack of clear vision which puts my safety at jeopardy as I'm unable to see clearly in bright light.I would highly discourage anyone from utilizing this pharmacy. read more

I have been going to the hillcrest location for almost 3 years. The service is always superb! They are very upbeat and welcoming.  My doctor sent my script out to this one on accident. They didn't have my medication in stock. This office had already told my doctors assistant that it was ready. I was just supposedly picking it up.  The woman that helped me  refused to tell me what time the following dayfor.  All she said was it will be here in the afternoon. She also stated they they would " Call me" when it was ready!!!!!! What a joke. I knew that would never happen. The afternoon is a pretty big time frame. I work twilight so im in bed by 3PM.  This Pharmacy Tech  talked down to me and just wasnt helpful AT all. I called the next day, to hopefully talk to someone else.  Theman who helped me was happy to give me a time frame.  The lady with the purple glasses, who helped me the day before, could have given me that info. She just simply didn't want to. hillcrest location has never treated me this way. Pharmacists and Pharmacist Techs think they are so much better than customers. It is really annoying. This location is definitely guilty of it. Not a welcoming location. Everybody seems miserable. I'll give 2 stars cause the guy did at least give me a time frame. It was 11 to be delivered to the store and 1pm to be ready.   Although I don't see why I have to wait another 2 hours for it to be ready. After this review the pharmacy manager did reach out to me. They even had it ready early for me. I wish they would have been this helpful from the beginning. They did show they cared at the end. read more

My work hours conflicted with my pharmacy hours and I couldn't get my medication and one ladies at the pharmacy actually delivered my medication I thought that was absolutely the kindest thing ever. I live several blocks away from here, so this is perfect for me- but it is great to know that if I get sick, and can't make it out, that they deliver!!! This was by far the smoothest pharmacy experience I have ever had. The prescription was sent over immediately, I was sent a text when it was ready, I came by,no wait whatsoever, paid my deductible, chatted with the phramacist and was on my way. The man helping me was super friendly! SOOOOO happy I switched from Walgreens where I was standing there, ready to cry, waiting in line for 20 minutes to talk to a girl who I am pretty sure has eaten ALL the drugs they had there. read more

We've have been with this incredible Pharmacy staff since 2011. They are not only professional & compassionate; but they "walk their talk". Often times when there's an insurance "malfunction" or "blip from a slip" on your Doctors end this crew just doesn't shrug their shoulders and pass the buck; they solve problems...with a smile! Their home delivery service is second to none! If only I could have one of their delivery guys stationed in my bathroom; I'd never miss a daily dose lol! I must give a shout out also to their innovation and community involvement; especially with Being Alive! If you using a box retailer pharmacy run for the hills! Sure the box retailers are open 24hrs; but only because it takes 24hrs a day to fix their mistakes! Horrible accounting, billing and resolution skills. They're very pleasant and friendly though. When I started with them years ago, I thought they were awesome, they were sponsoring my yoga class and they really were the only pharmacy delivering ADAP meds at that time. Christian and Chris are very nice and helpful. But,unfortunately, they have consistently disappointed me by proving to be inaccurate and ineffective. Their errors, from the very beginning, when they put someone else's meds in my bag, just got worst over time. I've had to have them audit my account several times over the years and correct their inaccuracies. My billing has been not just been haphazard, but consistently wrong, especially when a $200 charge was added to my balance which nobody could explain except as a system failure. It took years to get this error off my account. This month, however, is the last straw, my monthly bill went up from $18-$20 to over $45 with only one new drug added, and everyone agrees that the new drug isn't that expensive. They say they are still trying to provide me with an accurate bill. I'm leaving them as soon as possible, all the niceness in the world isn't going to make up for their sloppy accounting and resolution problems. All I can say is watch their accounting and keep insisting on an accurate billing and/or invoice. And whatever you do, don't leave your credit card number with them for automatic payments, because they actually made 4 banking transactions to my account just this month for what should have been one delivery but ended up being 3 deliveries this month. I left instructions not to use my card without my permission, but that did not stop them from doing it. Last week I was promised a response by today. Their workday is over. It's 8pm now, and sure enough, I still haven't heard a word from them. I'm not surprised. They never come through, but, when they do they're very sweet, friendly, pleasant and good natured. read more

As a person with chronic conditions that require accuracy timeliness and professionalism, this is the worst pharmacy one could possibly use. I would strongly advise no one to fill a prescription at this pharmacy. While I realize mistakes happen at every business, the rate of errors mishaps and unprofessional behavior is too high to take the risk. I understand AHF pharmacies are helpful in the community for medications related to chronic illnesses, but there should be no loyalty to any business, who consistently does not provide accurate medications to keep us alive, deliver ship or picked on the date needed, and a pharmacist or technician who has no sense of boundaries and thinks nothing of telling a customer to F off and hang up. In the world of pharmacies and doctors, is there really a margin of error? And who suffers when that error happens? And, the parking sucks and that reason alone it's not worth it.
