23DEC2024: I'm always looking for the "better deal" for most everything I buy. Earlier today, I needed to ensure that my blood/platelet donation wouldn't be deferred due to low iron, which I accomplish by ingesting one iron tablet daily. CVS is such a logical choice for that, and, as an additional benefit, if I use my debit card, I can obtain often-needed cash. Anyway, I knew CVS undoubtedly had a "2fer" for the iron supplements and I was correct. What I didn't know/realize was that, being on the tail end of a 25mile/40kms cycle about this amazing community of HoustonTX-USA, fatigue/exhaustion was beginning to rob my brain of coherent thinking ability. That, combined with the fact that I am a "Digital Dinosaur" made filling out the ePaperwork for the "2fer" damn near impossible. Fortunately, "Digital Native"/manager JADE was there to carefully guide me through the entire process. Despite my continually not pressing the right buttons (whether my fat fingers hit multiple buttons or I just don't quite see the correct buttons), JADE constantly helped me until my purchase was finally accepted/accomplished. Without a doubt, there is no way I would ever be able to navigate my way through this without her. She is such a tolerant/helpful CVS employee, and is a shining example of what every customer-contact business wants and needs representing them. I can see her ultimately becoming owner of thus CVS or certainly becoming the overall Chief of Operations/Customer Relations because she cares about the last recipient, the customer! Woohoo. I found a 24/7 CVS located at 4700 Kirby Drive near SW Freeway. It's so convenient from the freeway and I came from Montrose area. Because that CVS closes at midnight. I rushed to come here for some cool drinks. The service was pretty good. Although I didn't need any help. Customers were cordial and mostly young people at midnight hour. Thank goodness there were no transients like in the Galleria area. I guess the night was still young. I thought to drive around this neighborhood. I might come back for something essential when they are on sale. Oh, most of non sales items were higher than the one on S Gessner. read more

Ordered photos 2 hours ago and they said it would be ready. Get there and they tell me that my 4 photos aren't ready yet and that they double printed some accidentally and ran out of paper. I asked to just get my 2 that were ready and they tried to charge me for the double prints that I never asked for. Will not be returning read more

I walked in to buy a phone charger when I was approached by Robert. He was incredibly disrespectful and hostile, which was incredibly jarring as I have not had this problem at any other CVS location. Usually the employees are incredibly kind & helpful, so I will definitely avoid this location from now on. read more

Overall not a bad local CVS/Pharmacy to buy things but my god, corporate need to care about their employees more and hire a cleaning company to help clean. They cannot possibly do all the work with little staff. read more

Go to this CVS pretty often. Live nearby - have a major homeless problem in their parking lot. Tried to go inside today. Homeless people stop in of my car door so you can't exit your vehicle. Demanding money. Pretty aggressive. Moved my car they just follow you. Told the manager they didn't do anything. I put my prescriptions here after moving to Houston because it was the closest pharmacy. There's been long waits and bumps along the way but I truly believe that's anywhere. I called Wednesday to order a RX I was sure they wouldn't have in stock. They assured me they'd order it. Fast forward to Friday they hadn't ordered it and I was ready for the refill. "We'll order it today and it'll be here by Monday".... but I need it TODAY not Monday. I went over my issue again emphasizing my conversation with someone on Wednesday outlining this exact predicament. I didn't get "sorry" or even a solution. I got "call around and try to find it somewhere else"... isn't that your job? In all my years of filling prescriptions the pharmacy has ALWAYS done this. So, sure enough after a few calls I was able to locate it at a different CVS. Calling around to different CVS stores wasn't a lot of work. I'm mad that the severity of missing days of taking a prescription drug just rolled off of these people. That they took ZERO ownership. That my proactive measures were wasted. My phone call on Wednesday was a basic waste of my time. I plan to call CVS corporate and move to a different pharmacy chain altogether because apparently they can't be bothered. read more

The pharmacists at the Kirby & 59 CVS location are proactive, responsive, knowledgable, professional, competent and caring. The tone is set from top down by the head pharmacist. I moved to this CVS location from the Village years ago. If I could give more than five stars for the pharmacists at Kirby and 59 location I would. This place was horrible. I was already late to a conference and had some wicked bad heartburn. Walked in and there was no one at the desk to say hi. Weird but okay. Walked back to find the tabs and there were two employees there screaming at each other about random stuff. But the store was dead. With no music. So instead of being professional and having a conversation they decided it was best to scream to each other. Loud enough that when I was walking by she made my ear ring. Shit you not. Went to pay and a girl popped up and walked behind the counter. Wearing a pink jacket. No name tag. No way to identify who she was. No "find everything okay" or other common interactions. I asked her if they were managers and she shrugged and said "I don't know". I asked if she was a manager and she didn't know. So you have a store where people scream at each other and no one knows anything. Possibly it was a bad day for everyone. This is the absolute worst CVS pharmacy now, if they aren't closed for lunch they are days late filling a Rx. I don't understand how there are 6 people working in the pharmacy and EVERYONE goes to lunch at the same time. I went to pick up a Rx that should have been auto filled days ago and it wasn't ready. The cynical person at the window preceded to tell me that that it wasn't ready and that they would be going to lunch in 15 minutes and didn't have time to fill it beforehand. I called back 3 hours later and the Rx still hasn't been filled and the RUDE girl that answered the phone couldn't be bothered to help and passed the phone to another person who didn't have a clue. I use to live near this CVS and they are open 24 hours I believe. They are right at the corner of Kirby and 59 and just next door is Corner Bakery. The prices are a bit higher than other places but hey that's convenience right. I've come in here to buy gift cards, birthday cards, allergy meds, and gum/drinks and get cash back. They usually have about 1 or 2 folks helping with checking out customers. I haven't had much issues shopping here and can't speak on other things the store provides. read more

This place is the slowest and rudest I go to drive thru there is a car in front of me. So I eat my bagel and wait. I finish the bagel and the car is still sitting in front of me. Its a big SUV so I can't tell if someone is in it. I wait more and finally put my car in reverse and go park and go inside. just to do more waiting. Finally i get to counter and ask why it takes so freaking long to pick up a prescription. He apologizes with a simpleton grin on his face. The pharmacist is on the phone and another dude is filling orders and on the phone. The chick is still in her car at the window. The pharmacy drive-thru wait time here is ridiculous. There shouldn't be any reason why they have customers WAITING in the drive-thru to pick up medicine that's NOT ready. You would think the smart thing to do would to have that individual come inside or drive back around. I only come here because it's conveniently close to my job. I believe how I'm going to switch to the one that's closer to my home. The customer service here is awful. read more

Although this side of town is considered "Upper Kirby", the crime rate is just as bad as other sketchy areas in town. I was in and out of the store in the span of 5 minutes and had my window smashed in and purse stolen. Granted it was my fault for leaving my purse in view, but c'mon I was parked right in FRONT of the entrance with tons of people around, yet no one saw anything?? GTFO. Expensive lesson learned. Ladies, do NOT leave your stuff in plain site because you WILL get it stolen, I promise you. Desperate times calls for desperate measures? 3 stars for the friendly and helpful staff. They helped me call the cops and even gave me the number to the non-emergency line. One of the guys even tried helping me clean up the glass! Nice people. Nice staff and fairly clean store, but it smells slightly like mildew. (Blech!) I'm often stopping at this particular location when I'm in the West U area, or on my way to the gym and forgot to bring water with me. So, I'm not in here often for anything other than beverages, which are often on the expensive side here. But, this store is 24 hours, and since I often work out REALLY late at night (or super early in the morning, depending on how you look at it), it gets the job done. read more

Pharmacy gave me the wrong prescription. I take Aurexia which is a phosphate binder and very expensive. What I received was not Aurexia and it was easy to spot since it was not the same sized pill (dosage). read more

A young male employee (Manager) during today morning treated me in a hostile way because I guess he felt angry towards me . Because I am US Veteran woman that can speaks Spanish as German . Is true envy kills especially man not brave enough to be a Veteran. Also a woman that is older like 75 years old denied me service because she was not a worker there, so when I turn around I saw her ordering boxes of the store rude much. I hope this help a tourist like me that wants to feel like welcome while visiting others countries besides the USA in Texas. If I could give zero stars I absolutely would. RUDEST, most uninterested staff. This is why I always shop at Walgreens. NEVER again, CVS. Also, they were apparently robbed since half a pack of wine was missing. They didn't care. Acted like it happens all the time. So if you don't mind shopping among crooks, shop here. If you are supposed to be open at 8am it is only reasonable that all pharmacists and personal are actually at the location and ready to work by 8am. It is 810am and not a single person is in the pharmacy department much less it's not open. Terrible! read more

I am currently in the drive thru lane where I have been waiting for FOURTY MINUTES for the SECOND day in a row. I gave up yesterday and thought surely it can't be this terrible two days in a row. I watched 6 people get waited on at the counter and hit the call button 3 times before getting any service. My leg is injured otherwise I would have gone inside. Best place for infant passport photo! Tech was super patient and nice with my 5 month. Took us several shots but finally got a good one. Not many places are great with infant photos but this is the place to go. read more

The pharmacy messed up a prescription refill... the person who filled it, the pharmacy manager, the assistant store manager, and the store manager were all very unsympathetic in regards to the inconvenience I experienced and unhelpful in resolving the situation to my satisfaction. came down with the flu and decided to go to a doc in a box. they called my Rx in to this CVS. i was on my way to pick up the prescription when i received a message from CVS saying my Rx was ready. :) today i called to refill a prescription early. the CVS staff person said they would have to call my insurance for the early refill. she did it quickly and cheerfully, calling me back in about 1 hour. made me smile. read more
