It's great that this pharmacy is open 24 hours per day, but the store itself is disgusting. It's dirty and disorganized and there's stock all over the floor. It also has far more stuff locked up than in other local pharmacies. I can't believe that there's more shoplifting there than there is at the other pharmacies, walking distance away, but maybe they attract a different kind of crowd overnight. This store definitely needs a new manager who will see to it that's cleaned up. The CVS by the 71st-Continental subway stop isn't gorgeous, but it's a lot better than this one is. read more

This is my to go CVS and it has been here for a very long time. They just reorganized the store and unfortunately as a sign of the times, a lot of stuff is locked in glass cases. So you have to ask for a store associate to help you unlock the items you want. The positive side to that's is that there seems to be more room in the aisles now. There's also a phamarcy here and I believe they are either open late or they are 24 hours just like the store. Pretty tycpical CVS otherwise as far as what's available. I don't know how a pharmacy operates like this. They work with medication so you would think they realize 2 days without your medication isn't a good thing. I went to pick up a prescription 2 days ago.that cvs said was available, was told to come back the next day. They needed a new shipment. The next day the shipment wasn't there . I was sent here yesterday for a prescription because the CVS down the street didn't have it. The line was long, however, that is not the reason for the low review. Pharmacy lines are typically long and understaffed. I know staff is doing their best to get the line moving, which isn't their fault. My complaint is with the rude technician behind the counter. I explained that the CVS nearby told me to come in to check if they had my medicine here to be filled. She told me she's not sure if they have it and told me that I would have to pay out-of-pocket for it anyway. I asked her if we could figure out if the store has it currently, and she said first are you willing to pay for it? I said no I'm not sure yet and she goes okay then and decided she wouldn't check for it. I have been to so many other pharmacies before, and people behind the counter are way more accommodating, and even makes suggestions to check things like good RX. I know they don't have to, so I didn't feel the need to takeoff stars for that. It was the attitude and the comment about if I'm not willing to pay for something, that it doesn't matter if they have it in stock or not. I got through with the Walgreens nearby. The pharmacy at this location is horrible. I just got out of the hospital with pulmonary embolisms and the pharmacy at this location took it upon themselves to transfer my rx from a nearby cvs. The pharmacist blamed by husband, saying he requested the transfer... which he did not. Yesterday I went to CVS located on Metropolitan Avenue and 69 Avenue in Forest Hills. I parked in their parking lot. I went into the store and spent $50 on items. They didn't have a cream I needed so I dashed across the street to the pharmacy to get it. I was gone for 3 minutes. When I got back my car was gone. It turns out the manager at CVS saw me go to the pharmacy and called their tow truck. I had to pay $135 to get my car back. I feel this was unfair because I was a patron there. read more

I always seem to have an issue at this CVS; whether it's finding a gift card I can buy (because apparently there are some gift cards you can't buy and I'm not talking about the last card on the line), waiting on the pharmacy line, processing a return in a timely manner, having to deal with rude customers, having to deal with a rude employee in another instance, finding what I need that's on sale, finding what I need that's not on sale,... etc. There never seems to be any continuity behind the counter at this CVS. It seems like every time I visit there is someone new behind the counter. Just as long as you use one of the kiosks to pay for your goods, then you're fine. It can be a bit of a wait otherwise. However, I mainly go to CVS for the several prescriptions I have with them. Again, the lines can sometimes be long. But for the most part, I think their pharmacy is run very well. If there is initially only one person at the prescription window, more windows will open be very long. I've yet to have a negative experience with anyone working at the pharmacy when it came to a prescription drug which wasn't initially able to be filled. They've always been friendly and professional in their interactions with me. And I've greatly appreciated that. read more

This CVS is a UPS access point but should not be. My UPS package was delivered here for whatever reason instead of my house, but that's a different story. It was signed by an employee there and I was told by a CVS employee on the phone that it would be held there for 7 days. I go to pick it up 2-3 days later and they can't find it. I call UPS while in the store and apparently it was returned to UPS the same day it was dropped off. I a informed the employee in charge of UPS packages (Reeaz) of what happened and his reaction was something like, "that sucks." Thanks, but... It was your fault. Or at least another employee's fault but this is your responsibility; you're accountable. Now the item that I was waiting for is out of stock at Amazon, so this employee really caused a problem for me. They should not be an access point if things like this are going to happen. This is my local pharmacy. I never went in to get any prescription. But have made other purchases there. I usually buy their milk. It's reasonably price and last a long time. Longer their expiration date. However there's a limit on it. They normally get only a few a day and they sell out fast. I feel most CVS are pretty drab and this is one of the places. Some of their items I noticed are very close to the expiration date. The weekly sales here are not even that good. Their baby products are the worst. I usually come in here to see if they have any of the advertised sales on baby products in their circular. But they never do. The regular prices are on the higher side. I'm not even sure why. I do like how they are open 24/7. With a baby you just never know when you need something urgent and not have it at home. It gets the extra star for this reason only. They have self check out. However sometimes this is longer than the regular checkout line. One time I had to buy vitamins and the girl kept screwing up the price and no one bothered to help her. It took so long I didn't even want to deal with the price and just paid whatever came up and left. read more

I have 3 prescription refills here and spoke to Elizabeth on Monday to have them ready for me on following Friday the 16th. Today Saturday I go, only one is ready, Second one I have to wait for them to fill it, third one out of stock. WTH I was here for 35 minutes, SAD, normally 5 to 10 minutes, pretty much in and out. In a past life of adult times of having to live Forest Hills, I would patronize this location on a weekly basis for nearly all my personal care needs as it's within walking distance. This location sits directly on the "Boulevard of Death." The service is not very friendly or helpful. As a patron I was not well received with a warm affectionate greeting upon entering. I wish I could give them 3 and half star. First of all, I am a fan of CVS cause they have a decent customer rewarding program. Sometimes when they have deals for toothpaste and as many paper products, their pricing can beat Costco's. In this specific place, most of time I can find the products I look for. Most staffs working here are friendly and ready to help. They always have an employee standing close to the door, greeting each customer and helping customers who have difficulties with the self checkout machines. Here I have some complains: 1) The self checkout machines used to be very good and convenient. But recently they hardly work with my chip card. I know it's the problem with their machines, cause my chip card works perfectly at other places. They should fix these machines ASAP. 2) The freezers break down so often, and many times I found they could not serve the groceries need to be kept in the freezers. 3) Their kiosks at the photo center was out of order for a long time in the past, and I had to look for another place for photo service. I've been buying razors at this CVS for a few years now out of convenience since it is right outside the subway station but recently they locked up all the razors and the locks say that you need an assistant just to take the clamshell packages off the hooks. Okay, fine I'll take the extra minute to ask for assistance in getting these $7 razors when your $20 makeup is unlocked and have no anti-theft measures in place at all... Then I asked the assistant standing in the middle of the self-check registers for help getting the locked up razors. He said OK and called for customer assistance to go to the aisle. No one came for 2 minutes. I went to the pharmacist and said I needed the razors but they were locked up and no one came when I asked the first time. She said OK and called for customer assistance to go to the aisle. No one came for 2 minutes. I waited 4 minutes just to get a simple $7 pack of razors which they locked up for some reason because god forbid they lose a few razors instead of their much more expensive make up and even food out in the open, and I STILL didn't get them. WORST customer service here - I'll be ordering my stuff off Amazon now and only coming here to get my prescriptions filled because apparently trying to purchase something from the actual store is impossible. read more

The person who was to receive the money could not pick it up so I requested a refund. I went to the kiosk, began the refund process and the machine told me to see the cashier with my ID. I went to the cashier and he (his name is Roland) told me I could not receive a refund at that location and refused to check and see if the refund was there. They put down a new carpet.. The other was all stained. I have no idea who makes decisions but linoleum would have been the way to go. For them even to consider carpet is beyond me especially for a pharmacy knowing carpets hold so much dirt and they cannot be cleaned thoroughly as easily. Seriously it now looks even more dismal than before. They should take a walk and look at all other pharmacies and see how bright clean and stocked they are. They do not have enough staff at all. Had to run out and buy some cold medicine for my father, which I was IDed for. Understandable. The lady at the counter (I believe her name was Seema) had an argument with me about my age. My ID says under 18 until 12/2018 at the bottom and I had let her know this, but she continued to insist that I am underaged and could not get the items I needed. She even went as far as to type my birthday into her computer and "check" my age for me, again telling me I'm underaged and kept looking at me as if I had no clue What I was talking about.Eventually she realized that it's May 2019 and finally let me make my purchase. One star for proximity to my humble dwelling and the subway station, and one for the fact that both the store AND the pharmacy are open 24/7/365. Those are the sole saving graces of this establishment. Both the location and the hours are really big draws for me, especially given the other options in the area being either further, not 24-hours, or both... but if I had any other reasonable options I doubt I'd ever darken CVS's doorstep again. I believe there are four self-checkouts here. Since they were put in, only two of them seem to work at a time, although which two are working alternates! There's usually one that accepts Credit/debit cards only, and cannot give cashback, which limits the number of people who are ready willing and able to use that machine, thus slowing the lines that are already pretty long during late afternoon/evening hours. Then there's usually at least one more that's either frozen or otherwise out of commission. The remaining ones work, but frequently requires the assistance of an employee. There's generally just one person at the human-operated checkout, so that line gets long, too. The stock/selection of the store is respectable, but not overwhelming. The prices are ehhh. Sometimes there are pretty good sale offers- but be sure to read the fine print carefully and be prepared to ask for an employee if your item doesn't ring at the right price for whatever reason. The mile long receipts with coupons and credits are kind of insane... Wasteful, annoying, and efficient... I rarely wind up using them as a result. I'm not sure why they don't just put these coupons/credits on the CVS card, but perhaps the idea is to give the illusion of saving money, rather than actually saving people money. The pharmacy needs a lot of work. As I said previously, it's open 24 hours, which is a serious blessing. However, there are organizational problems. Several years ago they gave me the wrong medication. My name was on the bag, but when I opened it up at home there were different pills inside with somebody else's name and address on the bottle. Needless to say, I called them immediately and let them know this was a lawsuit waiting to happen and that I needed my regular medication. I can't believe the negligence that must've caused that. Multiple times I have refilled my medication through the automated phone system, only to find that my medication is not there several hours later because they did not have that item in stock, despite what the system told me. Because of that, I wait to speak to a pharmacy employee, confirm that the medication is in stock, and ask them to manually put in my refill. This is not a great use of time for either me or the pharmacy employee, especially since I usually wind up on hold for 10 to 15 minutes waiting to get an actual person on the phone, but it's better than thinking that my medication is getting refilled when it's actually not. I imagine I would run into the same problem with automatic refill, and when I travel I sometimes need my meds a bit early, so I don't participate in that. Recently I spent four days trying to get a particular medication refilled because they gave me a 15 day supply, but wrote it into the system as a 30 day supply, and then give me problems about refilling it when I ran out two weeks sooner than their system indicated. I'm not sure exactly how that happened, given that the bottle clearly stated two pills a day and a quantity of 30 pills, which works out to 15 days... I'm also not sure why it took four full days to get my medication authorized and in a bottle, but it did. I believe that was partly my insurance company's fault, but in my communications with them they told me that CVS had notified them that I had picked up the medication when I had not. I've also received, on more than one occasion, texts to my cell phone saying that my medication is ready for pick up, or that there is a problem with my order, only to call or go in person and realize that that message was an error. If this pharmacy is your most convenient option, which if you live in the area very well may be, I definitely recommend speaking to staff members on the phone or in person rather than using the automated system. I also recommend being well-informed about your medication brand, dosage, quantities, insurance info, etc... because they won't be. read more

Worst pharmacy phone support. After 12 minutes on hold music they told me they couldn't hear me. I repeated my inquiry two more times. They said 'ok' then told me they had another customer in front of me and put me on hold again. After 3 more minutes waiting I hung up. Now I have to go there in person and I am not feeling well. What if I physically couldn't make it there? Their autorefill is hit or miss. On more than one occasion I got a notification that my meds were ready for pickup in the mobile app. After waiting 10 minutes on line (they only had one clerk at the pharmacy counter) they told me it wasn't ready because they wanted to know if I was ok with the price! Really? I waited another 10 minutes for them to fill it. They are severely understaffed and/or disorganized. Two stars for being close to home and open 24/7. Worse drugstore I have ever been to in my life. I live in the neighborhood and it is a well known fact that you only go into this store if none of the other stores are open. The check out machines are usually all out. Some of them have not worked for years and still have not been replaced. The lines are long and slow. They've gotten rid of their cashiers and replaced them with checkout machines all with out-of-order signs on them and yet they hired someone to say "Hello" and "Goodbye" when you walk in and out of the store! They are open 24/7, which I think is great. It's also right near the 67th Avenue train stop. Even their pharmacy is apparently open these hours (or maybe just really late?) but sometimes selection on things can be slim pickings. You might also be waiting sometimes if you wanted someone to ring you up at the register but I like that they have self-check. Otherwise, no better or worse than a typical CVS. read more
