I went to my appointment at the pharmacy today and it was one person checking in before me. He called him over to give him his Covid vaccine then immediately called me over as the person was leaving out the booth I was walking in. The pharmacist already had his gloves on. I didn't say anything about him not sanitizing the vaccine station before he called me over. But I did ask him was his gloves clean and he said yes, I said so you changed your gloves for me while the other person was still in the booth with you, he said yes. I said for my safety I will feel much better if you would change your gloves in front of me. I told him I work for a medical facility myself so I do know that isn't right. The pharmacist told me no I'm not changing my gloves and picked up his basket and said something under his breath and walked away. I set there in the chair in the vaccine booth for 5 minutes and he never came back. So I got up and set in the chair in front of the pharmacist desk waiting for him to appear so I can ask him when was he going to do my vaccine. I asked a young lady behind the desk and asked her what happened to the pharmacist was he coming back out to do my vaccine and she told me she was going to get him. When he came back out behind the desk he asked me was I going to do my vaccine and I said yes I just need to see you change your gloves in front of me for my safety that's all. He said this is not a medical place and He does not have to change his gloves in front of me and he was not giving me my vaccine. I told him that's fine I will get it at my medical facility this was just convenient for me at the time. I can't believe a cvs employee that is giving people Covid vaccine is telling a patient that they do not have to change their gloves in front of them before giving a vaccine as well as he didn't sanitize his hands or station before calling me before giving me a vaccine. He told me his name was Aveo and he was not giving me his last name which he lied but I just looked on my email and his name is Amare, Abel, RPh at store 17017 I have never wrote a yelp before in my life but I want people to be aware before getting a vaccine at this cvs location if this is how a pharmacist employee is giving vaccines it is not safe. I'm speaking from my own experience with this particular cvs pharmacist employee. I'm so upset that a medical personnel attempted to put me at risk because he did not want to change his gloves for my safety nor did he sanitize his hands. People are coming to get a vaccine to stop Covid and not contract it or spread it because a cvs pharmacist employee feel he does not have to change his gloves or sanitize his hands. I know in the medical field we are short and have to pick up jobs we are not use to doing but it is in our scope of practice and we as a whole can not put the community in danger because you are upset because you had to basically do your job. If this is how this site is run I will be reaching out to OSHA to make a report because this situation is putting people safety at risk. read more
