Was ready to be rung up and the lady that was working (her name started with a L) told me she can help me at a machine and then walks away, I didn't realize it was only card because she didn't mention it, then I went to grab a card real quick and a young man went up and scanned his item and I can tell she was irritated by that and made a comment under her breath saying 'that should teach me not to walk away' proceeds to laugh about it then I realized it didn't take cash and she told me that I should have read the sign mind you she made me go to that machine!! She had to ring me up after and I can tell she was embarrassed. I don't know why she made me go to the machine and then makes a rude comment but was so quick to take an older lady at her register. Maybe next time don't force people to go to a machine and assume they will pay with card. read more

It would be great if the employees actually worked. Only one of the 2 self checkout registers was functional. (no sign to indicate this either) Meanwhile, no employees to be found working the normal registers. The line was building up and people cutting others since there was no organization with checkout. It seems like it's certain employees / managers that do this. It's happened multiple times, but there's been other occasions where the store is run well. Hopefully the actual store manager can get some consistency around the customer experience at this location. read more

This is the CVS in Discovery Bay, deep in CoCo County (that's Contra Costa County for you non-SF Bay Area Natives). I admit I'm not 100% sure about what Covid-19 tier this county is in, because mask wearing isn't enforced out here. I guess everyone got their Covid shots, because things are pretty lax in the store. But mask wearing should be enforced in a drugstore! Otherwise, the store is clean and organized. Staff and cashier were cool and polite. The store is neat and organized. Staff and cashiers are very friendly. The pharmacy is quick to fill prescriptions. Do note that the Pharmacy closes for lunch I believe 1:30pm-2pm every day. You're also able to place an order online and use their online coupons and pricing and pick it up ;) Plenty of parking. read more

Here we are almost two years later than my initial review of this CVS store. They are still exceptional and their pharmacists, especially Alisa, are the most like and helpful I've ever found in any store. They're always willing to help, work with insurance matters and are very friendly. I feel they go out of there way for us sometimes. I was looking for a product once, which they ended up not having, but the store manager was very helpful in looking for it. Then I had an issue with getting reward discounts on our CVS account. The same manager was able. to figure out how to get the due rewards, though it took her several minutes of manipulating the system to do so. Not many would go to the length she did. Since this is the only pharmacy in Discovery Bay, without any competition, they could easily blow customers off yet still get the same customers. We're very fortunate to have such a helpful and kind staff at our local CVS. read more

Never has checkout open always pushing you to the self serve which sometimes can be difficult with there horrible coupon receipts. Then absolutely does not respect your time. I was in California for a family emergency, discovery bay ca. I was running out of my meds and panicked. I called cvs and spoke with the pharmacist Mohammed Youssef, he was gentle and kind, I didn't feel rushed he was slow in his speaking to me and calmed me down. He told me he would transfer my prescription and take care of everything! He called me back in an hour telling me it was filled. Hate the pharmacy here! The Asian man with the bun is supposedly the boss at the pharmacy, but he's rude and has lost my prescriptions a number of times! Then he expects me to be the one to get replacement prescriptions for his mistakes! The store itself isn't bad, but the pharmacy experience alone makes me give it 1 star, but I would give it negative stars if I could! Stay away from this pharmacy! read more

I use to love shopping here. I never got out much because I took care of my dad who was on hospice for 6 years, but when I did I get the chance I'd make a trip to the Discovery bay CVS being that it's the closest store to home. I loved talking with the manager who is Portuguese because my parents are from the same area and she's always been a delight to talk and sometimes the only person I got to talk to. Well I see now 6 years later how sad the world truly is. My partner and I went into CVS today and I wanted to take my time looking at the makeup, I haven't worn makeup in so long I had no idea where to start or what brand what shades etc. My partner doesn't care to look at the makeup so he did the rest of our shopping as continued to take my time SO he decided to use self checkout (with the help of the nice Portuguese lady I think her name might be Linda but I may be wrong) he needed help checking out because he was having trouble scanning an item) then after paying he went outside for me. I finally finish get to the register and I brought up a few mascaras for Matt the cashier to do a price check and his response was "Oh you're going to actually pay for your items your SON just sold an arms worth. Of items! I was in such shock I thought he was playing with me but then he followed up by telling me "Don't play dumb I saw the cameras and you clearly condone stealing" I can not tell you how anger I was but still I kept my composure. Neither myself or my partner has EVER stolen in our entire lives! I told him there must have been a mistake and I told him as soon I I got done checking out I would bring my PARTNER NO SON in to clear things up. He continued to be so incredibly rude and the other manager was there and allowing that behavior! Luckily my partner came in wondering what took so long And I told him what Matt the cashier was accusing him of. Luckily he still had his receipt and showed both the night manager since the nice one left but Matt as well. I told them the owed my partner a apology and Matt turned his head laughed and said he had more items in his hands than what's on the receipt! And mind you there are other customers in line listening to this I was mortified but more than anything my heart hurt for my partner! I told them I wanted to see the footage and conveniently she said she didn't have access to it. So how is it that the manager doesn't have access but Matt does? My partner walked out in shock and disbelief. I heard Matt say something along the lines Of "just look at him" what is that supposed to mean Matt!?!? Matt you are disgusting how dare you assume and accuse someone of anything based only on looks! You have know idea what some people have been through nor is it your business but I think some would call that being predujice! I asked how he could treat either of us the way he did and he just smirked and the manager did NOTHING but take my name and number down for the store manager tomorrow. If he had just asked my partner would have gladly shown him the receipt and items purchased. And why then badger and berate me? My partner and I are some of the most humble hard working and loving people you will ever meet. My partner and I have never been treated so poorly and humiliated like that let alone by a cashier. Clearly if you saw the footage you would have seen NOTHING WAS STOLEN and he had help checking out by THE STORE MANAGER! It's accusations, hurtful actions and comments like that , baised on ur preconceived judgement/predjudice that can cause someone to go backwards in life all because he didn't look idea to you? Did you take the time to think that one may have a disability!? Shame on you, do better be better! I truly hope the store manager makes this situation right! Quan at the pharmacy was not helpful at all. My Freestyle Libre sensor failed after 30 hours. He said they cannot replace it or give a refund. His only solution was for me to call the manufacturer since it was a manufacturing defect. That's a lot of hassle. If nothing else I would expect him to process a refund. I've never heard of a retailer refusing to give a refund for a product they sell. I've been thinking of switching to Costco pharmacy. This single interaction just sealed the deal. read more

I just picked up a prescription and they gave me the wrong one. That's not the only reason I'm upset. Since Garrett left things have gone downhill. I have a Doctor Who called in my prescriptions every four weeks. The doctor immediately calls the prescription in when I visit his office. They never have them ready until after 5 o'clock. That's not acceptable. read more

Worst pharmacy I have ever been to! If I could give them -5 stars, I would. The pharmacy manager there, this Asian guy with a hairbun, had THE WORST customer service! I only went to this pharmacy because it's less than 5 minutes away from home, but after two years of putting up with their BS, I finally decided to stop going to them. He's lost the paper prescriptions that I've dropped off in person 3 times in the two years I went here. It's such an inconvenience because my two dogs' vets that prescribe their seizure meds are from Deer Valley in Antioch, so this pharmacy expects me to go in person to the vet to get another paper prescription that they lost! And this is the only pharmacy that gives me so much grief over how there's no barcode on the prescriptions! I decide it was time to go to Walgreens, even though it's farther. I highly DO NOT recommend this pharmacy! Avoid it at all cost!!! read more

The new pharmacy manager who just goes by 'Q' is not good. He has zero personal skills, he can't answer questions and does not know the system. He may be able to count pills, but that is about the extent of his skill set. If you are in store, he just ignores you, and if you call the pharmacy it's like talking to a dead body. He has no idea how to interact with customers and make them feel welcome and wanted. He needs to just be in a back room and count pills without interacting with anyone read more

When you are in pain and can't get your insurance to communicate with the pharmacy or vis versa you know what I'm talking about when you can get the middle person (pharm tech) to do her magic. The staff is always super super friendly here, it's almost too surprising. Whether I come in for something small or back to the pharmacy I am consistently impressed by the level of friendliness, willingness to answer questions and professionalism. This last time the pharmacist was sweet to inform me how long my dad's prescription would take, what else I might need and didn't seem put off entering in a ton of information. Just the average bear, this particular Long's Drugs just gets the job done without failure. I can tell be shopping there that the daily customers do not have much respect for the store seeing that there are many misplaced and torn items. The Customer Service is loyal though; which gives them the 3 stars. You can be sure to find what you want. Not many people shop there. There is a much bigger Safeway next door so the lines usually only consist of one or maybe two cashiers if they are busy. Making convenience their forte. MUST BUY BEER/LIQUOR HERE! It is the cheapest around! Candies and other snacks are well stocked too and aren't nearly as expensive as Dash (a local convenient store). It is also considered the local office supply store because no one else sell it. Seeing that Discovery Bay is quite small, there is a store dedicated to each need with little sign of competition. If you can't find what you need here, just as a customer service representative to point you in the right direction. Whether it be an isle or another store. They get that all the time. The pharmacy staff is awesome as well, I called in to ask about a prescription and they walked me through everything that I needed to know abd answered every single one of my questions. Big clean store that is well organized and has a lot to offer. My husband went to the pharmacy to see about transferring an out of state prescription. They were friendly and helpful. They took down the needed information and told him they would call in approx. 2 days for pick up. They didnt call so we stopped by a few days later and it was ready. The next week I went to the pharmacy and did the same thing. Again they were friendly and very helpful. Not only was mine an out of state refill but I had changed insurance companies as well. I was expecting it to be a huge hassle but they said it was no problem. They took down my info and said they would call in 2 days. I waited 3 and then went and picked it up. Normally I would be irritated by a lack of phone call, especially since it seems to be a pattern for them, but the transactions both went so smoothly I felt it was a very minor problem. read more

I have been getting my prescriptions filled here for a while now and I am always impressed with the customer service and how many headaches they handle for me!! From multiple insurance changes, doctors changing, and sending in authorazations for me!! They even advocated for me when my doctor needed to call my insurance. I am truly amazed with them. read more

I'm always amazed that I can find pretty much everything I need at this store. the people in the pharmacy are very nice and even help you find items on the main floor. When I had a problem with my doctor providing a prescription I needed, they were extremely diligent in getting a response from the doctor. I was customer standing in line and as i can see from the line the cashiers name started with a D i could barley read it but she kept calling for a second checker and called about 5 times and then the second checker came and mentioned she was in the back but then me as a customer noticed she was in an isle laughjng and talking to someone the whole time knowing that the line was backed up. The cashier who was taking care of everyone was being very generous and telling everyone sorry for the wait and shed will be right with us. Didn't find this CVS particularly great. The store is okay if you can get a cashier at the front to pay for your items. I thought the pharmacy was awful. As a new customer I showed the tech my address so there would be no confusion. He couldn't even type it correctly and hit v instead of b, n instead of m and so forth. He couldn't even get my phone number entered correctly either so I never received a call when my prescription was ready. He never bothered to verify he had entered everything correctly. I have never seen such incompetence at a pharmacy since they often verify your prescription with your address and double check phone number at the same time. I will never use them again and will choose to try next door at the Safeway Pharmacy. read more
