I don't mean to insult most of the younger working generations. I'm hoping it's a minority of individuals, but when it comes to being helpful, CVS is very weak. Recently, my prescriptions changed for the Gramercy location, which is closing, to Upper Rock. One prescription had no refills. Therefore, the way I understand it, they didn't have it (technically) added to their system? This is even though it was in the system of Gramercy. But, what makes it worse is the pharmacist would neither phone my doctor's office nor the Gramercy location to help get the refillable prescription in their store's system. Is this laziness? Is this policy? Whatever it is, it doesn't make sense. I should add that when I talked to an individual from that pharmacy a few days before and mentioned all the prescriptions that needed to be refilled, that individual did not inform me there would be a problem with them contacting my doctor. To highlight the ineptness of the location, I have requested receiving text messages informing me when prescriptions are ready for pickup, and I am not receiving them.

Giants also has a rewards and savings card for groceries and gas for your car. That shocked me to begin with. Although she was out of stock she recommended calling my doctor and having them adjust the dosage as she had a different strength available. I did as she suggested and everything worked out! She even called to tell me she received the script from my doctor and I could come anytime. I showed up at 5:30pm as she closes at 6 and she said you must be Renee. I was like omg hey yes I am! The pharmacy is so cute and so private you don't feel uncomfortable like at other pharmacies. I honestly always feel judged whether it is from a pharmacist or a pharmacy tech. Mai and I got to chatting about other medications I take and she said she would make sure they were stocked on the shelf for me. Wow! How great! I also let her know my troubles with CVS/Rite Aid and she agreed pharmacists shouldn't be interfering with what the doctors recommend. Love that! When I call my doctor to ask if they provide refill info, they show me the approval logs on their end (with timestamps), yet CVS claims they don't have anything. I called in on the refill line and it sated the doc denied the refill, again called my Doc and they said they have the log showing they approved it the other day. It's the same cycle over and over. At one point I never had this problem with CVS its ben the last 2 yrs.  I'm now completely out of medication because CVS can't manage basic communication. I've spent days going back and forth just trying to get something that should be routine. Absolutely unacceptable. If you need reliable prescription management, look elsewhere.

I did find a few things I needed. But, as I came up to the counter, I saw the cherry tomatoes that I picked up, were rotting at the bottom. So, I gave them back to the person working there. I hate to compare, but I really don't think this store is as clean as the one I usually shop at. So, given that they were out of stock for the items I usually buy and the item I picked up was spoiled. I probably won't be coming back to this Harris Teeter. This is the reason for the two stars. But things have changed and lately it hasn't been as welcoming or organized. There are still a few friendly associates at the cash register but I don't see many of staff who were once here. During a recent power outage things were very confusing (no sign was placed outside the store to let customers know what was going on)--as I was about to go in right at the beginning of the outage i was suddenly stopped at the door (by one of managers I think) and told the store was closed due to no power. I went back to my car but then the lights came on again and a customer who had just arrived walked in. I waited a bit and then went in too (I forgot the errand but I had to get something that day). Then after finding my items and going to the register everyone waiting there was told the power was off again (actually I had to learn that from another customer, as the lights were on but something with the machines was off) and that there might be a twenty minute wait. I decided to put all my items back on the shelves and leave. There was just no plan on the part of the store or clear communication about what was happening, I've also had the absolute worst experiences at the pharmacy. I had not picked up prescriptions here in awhile so I didn't know anything was wrong until a few of my current medications were already filled. Then when I went to pick up an order one day the pharmacist at the window rudely told me that one of my medications (out of two) was filled but that my insurance didn't cover the second medication and I'd have to pay the full cost (of course it was an important medication). One, the pharmacy never called or texted to let me know this. In fact I received a text that my order was ready. Two, what the pharmacist told me was completely wrong, as I would find out later. Three, she was extremely impolite throughout my interaction with her. When I asked how much my medication would cost she referred me to another pharmacist who told me I had to call another pharmacy to have them send it over to CVS. I didn't understand this reasoning but she appeared impatient and as if I should have understood. I asked for her to print out my prescription (how was I going to call another pharmacy and tell them anything without that?) as she hadn't even offered to help further. I guess it didn't matter to these pharmacists I had come to pick up a prescription I had received notification was ready only to find out one of the medications actually wasn't and that I had pay full cost for it because my insurance "didn't cover it" ....unless I called another pharmacy to send it over?? I took the printout she gave me and then purchased the medication that *was* ready (actually they hadn't bothered to give it to me so I had to go back and ask for it). I went over to another pharmacy with the printout and tried to explain what the CVS person had told me (and said I was confused). Guess what? That pharmacist was straight with me and told me that my insurance plan DID cover my medication but they just did not work with CVS anymore. I spent a few more hours transferring all my prescriptions to this new pharmacy and instructed my PCP never to send anything to CVS again.

The store has Halloween candy and etc for that holiday and they also have some Christmas items out for that holiday which is my favorite. :-) I did find some deals for hair products as well. They have a board up in front of the store that show you how to save $10 on medicine and etc. If I need to come to CVS, I will most likely come back here if I'm on this end of town.

Well, I could not believe my eyes when it walked in the door. You could put 3 of my neighborhood Walgreens in this store. It was huge and although it took me a few minutes to figure out where everything was, I was blown away by all of the products in this store. So, they had more candy, junk food, cleaning products, vitamins, and other stuff. Thank you to Kathleen for helping me at checkout. She was very nice and helpful.
