11.13.25 I have been here dozens of times over the past…read moreseveral years and it's always been favorable experiences. Well, my most recent time here was a slight exception. I was here most recently two Mondays ago on 11.3.25 but after midnight, so technically it was 11.4.25 with this most recent trip my experience turned from favorable to truly exceptional service above and beyond. The reason for this phenomenal change are due to Augusta & Ali. These two employees of yours are two fabulous individuals who you should be so happy that you have them working for you. They truly shined for their exemplary service in helping me beyond their primary job duties. I stopped in and bought a few snacks & toiletries and was quickly on my way. After I left, I was in my vehicle and of course checking things here on yelp while still sitting in the CVS parking lot for quite a while. When I tried to start my vehicle it didn't start. I called my motor club and set up for a jump. Long story shorter, the motor club called a couple times with delays and there i was waiting for an hour in a half getting cold. I decided to go back into the store to ask if anyone possibly had some jumper cables. Augusta and Ali were so freakin kind and selfless that they blew me away. Now lemme lay it out a little more for you. It's literally 2:00/2:30 a.m. in the morning/ night. They didn't hesitate to check and Augusta ended up having jumper cables in her car. I couldn't believe it. She said, "my daddy didn't raise no fool" I told her I can see that. Vehicle jumped right away and on my way home. I tried to give her and him some cash. They weren't having it. She said she believes in paying it forward so good fortune comes back to you. Told her I agree but still take the money. She wouldn't. Neither would he. I threw some cash into her car and told her I insist. I asked for their names so that I could recognize them online. They were extremely selfless and a true Blessing for me in my time of need. Oh, update, the motor club had called just before I went inside asking for help and had told me it'd be an additional hour in a half possibly or to leave the vehicle and they'd get someone there in the morning. They were having a hard time getting someone to me. Thank you thank you Augusta & Ali for your true service in helping me out big time. Love you two people. Shwanks The store itself is always in good clean order. Not disheveled like I've seen in other locations. There's a good size parking lot in a good location with all the faxt food restaurants close by including the Cumberland Farms right across the street. Always good service and always stocked up well.

It's so easy and convenient and I can spend the time doing other things while my items are being shopped for me! It also helps me stay on budget and avoid unnecessary spending and keeps people employed! Win win!!! I spent $25 on lots of fruit for the week and out of it also made a fruit salad to take to friends!

I had always been a CVS fan until my new insurance carrier limited my prescriptions to Walgreens…read more To my surprise, I am experiencing a far better customer service at the Walgreens located in Shelton than the service that I had been receiving at the CVS located in Stratford. For your information, my doctor inadvertently sent my prescription to CVS. I subsequently went to the CVS MyChart portal and transferred my prescription to Walgreens. Within two days, I went to Walgreens to pick up my prescription. Walgreens stated that they had not received the transfer; therefore, they immediately faxed the request to CVS in my presence. CVS failed to respond that day. I attempted to call CVS but was unable to speak to a live person. I drove to CVS the following day, and was told by a CVS pharmacy representative that I should have CVS fill the prescription instead. I said that was not feasible, because my insurance will not allow it. She then said, "Perhaps you will need to call your doctor to send it to Walgreens". This, too, was not feasible because it was on a Sunday, and I needed my medications now. CVS assured me that they would fax my prescription to Walgreens, but failed to do so promptly. However, Val at Walgreens took the initiative to personally follow up with CVS until the prescription was received, and then she called me to pick it up when the prescription was ready. Since then, I have been visiting Walgreens more frequently. I continue to receive excellent customer service from the store in all. I have become a Walgreens Believer!

Very positive experience on 4/18/26. Went in for post op equipment after no help at Walmart…read morepharmacy. The cashier when I walked in told me exactly which aisle to go to; there was a young man working at pharmacy counter, I asked him a couple of questions and he was happy to help even though busy day. The two cashiers at the front were nice, moved the line quickly. Store was very clean.

I interviewed Sai for a local newspaper on the opening of his pharmacy in Ansonia. At the time, he told me that he came to Ansonia because most pharmacies didn't deliver medication, so they wanted to "pick up prescriptions and deliver them too". Sai seemed to be sincere in his desire to help his community. At the time. I was a regular CVS customer, but soon the long lines, long wait times, and rude service wore me down. Not all staff, nor pharmacists at CVS were bad, but the overall experience of getting medication at CVS was too stressful. I remembered Sai and Handcock Pharmacy and transferred my insurance and prescriptions to Hancock. What an amazing change. No long lines, no attitude, and true to his word, if you cannot pick up your meds, Hancock Pharmacy in Ansonia will deliver. I have developed serious health issues, and Sai and his staff have been available to answer questions, fill prescriptions, and deliver medication when I cannot leave my home. They have always been kind, respectful, and courteous. They may not have CVS' sales, coupons, or their after-holiday candy sales, but they get a thumbs up for a great pharmacy in Ansonia

The owner is very gracious and friendly. Her elderly mother is the pharmacist, still going strong and working diligently. I had a wonderful time browsing and chatting with the owner about her beautiful parakeet (or could be a cockatiel, I forget), the history of the pharmacy (apparently it's one of the oldest in the state), and pretty much anything and everything. I finally decided on a tiger plushie for my friend, and when I told her it was a birthday present for a friend, she (for FREE, mind you), boxed the plush, wrapped the present in gorgeous, purple paisley wrapping paper, and tied red and blue ribbons in elaborate bows in the center. I was truly stunned! I forget her name, but the owner is truly a wonderful lady. She was very humble and apologized for the gift shop being "sparse" (it seemed very well stocked to me) and suggested that I come back around Christmas because she said she goes all out and decorates lavishly for the holidays. I'm kicking myself for not going back, but I do intend to return and shop there someday. I highly recommend this place for someone looking for good, old-fashioned customer service with a smile and a nice assortment of gifts.

I just get a recording. I called the front desk twice to see if they could help and they told me that they can't transfer me. I replied, "Can't you walk over to the pharmacy?" and they said that they could not. They said that I would have to call yet again and leave a message. There is no "option" to leave a message. Wow, they are just so helpful at that store. Thanks for nothing.

The staff are Rude, Unaccommodating, unfriendly and lack compassion. The whole system is not user friendly. How hard is it to stagger the lunch so the whole pharmacy shuts down for a half hour lunch. How hard is it for the employee who is getting your meds help you?? No they send you over to stand in another line. That guy looks like he's on another planet. After today I'm going to find another CVS even if it's out of my way. Much better than this Crew...Absolute Bunch of Clowns
