"I'm all lost in the supermarket" (The Clash)…read more A few weeks ago, when we walked into the Market 32 in the Bristol Commons shopping center for the first time, our shared reaction was "dang, this place is huge". When we walked in a second time just yesterday to pick up some Thanksgiving odds and ends, our reaction was the same. I just did some web surfing and learned that the Bristol Market 32 occupies 67,000 square feet as compared to the average U.S. supermarket that clocks in at around 40,000 square feet. So.....yes..... Bristol's Market 32 is around two thirds larger than your average supermarket. And their big square footage sure gives you plenty of reasons to enjoy your shopping experience here, Their corporate strategy was to replace the old and tired "Price Chopper" name with Market 32 as a modern rebranded store. The interior layout of the various departments is gorgeous and was designed to make you feel more like shopping in a Whole Foods or a Wegmans. Why the name "Market 32"? It's a nod to the company's founding year of 1932. As we walked through the store, we saw all sorts of the usual and unusual amenities like a food court, pharmacy, and catering services, big produce department, bakery, ethnic foods, prepared foods, cheese, seafood, meats, deli, and everything else. Most of our Thanksgiving shopping had already been accomplished, but we did pick up a pound of grapes, a box of dark coffee K Cups, a bottle of chocolate syrup, a bag of three rainbow peppers, a broccoli crown, a bag of carrots, a bag of celery, and a few bananas for around $23. We had a very enjoyable and leisurely experience here. The store is big enough that it never really felt crowded during our two visits, even the Saturday visit just five days before Thanksgiving.

ZERO stars if I could. WAAAAY overpriced…read more Also ***buyer BEWARE!! This place is still NOTORIOUS for the fake sale that doesn't ring up at the register. Check your receipts and see for yourself, the "discounts" don't apply unless you have 3 items or "online e coupon only" This places is the WORST. Stay far away.

It was a bittersweet goodbye as I ended my 12 year relationship with this Walgreens pharmacy…read moreyesterday. Catalyzed by the treatment I received over the phone by a pharmacy tech who was irked by the fact I wanted to follow my doctor's recommendation to start taking a new dose of my medication. After a day of it not being filled, I called to inquire on the status of the prescription. I was told that "they didn't have it in stock and to not expect it until tomorrow after 3 pm". When I asked if they could transfer the new rx to the other Walgreens- just as they regularly do to me for other prescriptions- the woman grew incredibly volatile with me, and scolded me that it was a "narcotic" and to not bother them again until 3 pm the next day. I called my physician to ask them what my course of action should be since I was denied my prescription, yet again. Prescriptions not being in stock at this Walgreens and making me wait days to over a week started becoming an alarming new "normal". I've always been polite and cooperative regarding this Walgreens' problems. I did not deserve to be yelled at like some drug seeker because I tried to find out what was going on with my prescription that was delayed several times. My physician called this Walgreens, and was told that yes, the medication was in fact in stock, and that all was ok and I could pick it up. So, how come it wasn't available until *after* 3 pm the NEXT day for me, but was in stock and ready to fill when the doctor called? Was the prescription my physician faxed over not good enough? With the differing results, I had it with Walgreens. I've only been really patient and super kind with this extremely large pharmacy that never seems to have prescriptions in stock, and I've only been met with apprehension, curtness, and rudeness. My doctor's office was so extremely understanding. They, too, were put off by this pharmacy's antics and how they both lied to me and talked down to me like I was such a bother. My doctor's office then helped me transfer everything over to Beacon Pharmacy- our small-town pharmacy. Within 30 minutes, my prescription was ready. A few hours later, at my convenience, I drove down and got it. Everyone at Beacon was super kind, and no one talked down to me for having questions. I stayed with this Walgreens so long because I didn't realize there was a better way I could be treated as a patient. I thought pharmacists and pharmacy techs were short and rude to all- because that's all I've ever seen from the Walgreens staff. I wish I switched 10 years ago.
