However, because I decided not to drive to The Sushi Class for an event there (good thing I didn't because unlike some people, I do NOT want to risk a DUI), the bus I took out of New Britain was so late that I was late catching the bus to take me the rest of the way back to Southington and so I had to wait here in Plainville, so I decided to kill some time and try (and fail) to beat the heat. So into the Plainville Walgreen's I went. It wasn't bad so to say, but nothing about really stood out either. It served its purpose enough. I got what I needed and it wasn't any harm or foul done. I do hope to never come here again, but that is more towards Plainville and much less about this store specifically. Sorry Plainville, but I am learning that I hate waiting for a bus here. To really sum this Walgreen's up, if you've already been to a Walgreen's nearby, then it's really not any different here.

The pharmacist called again to various pharmacies-this prescription was in stock anywhere. The pharmacist called the prescribing dr, explained that the rx was not available anywhere local & was able to discuss w/the dr an equally effective medication that was available. My daughter w/in a few hours was already feeling relief after weeks of suffering not feeling well & the lingering deep cough from an illness which required 2 visits to the doctor. Outstanding Pharmacist! He was extremely kind and compassionate. Thank You!

I walked in and from first glance, you can tell it is a staple type establishment for those within the community of Plainville. The roll was toasted for that crispy factor and the pastrami itself, was good. You really can't go wrong when the cut on the pastrami is just right and it has a nice cut about it. The sauerkraut was ok, nothing major to write home about to be honest and it had a nice savory sauce with some Swiss cheese that. complemented the sandwich. Moving along to their macaroni salad! The mayo was tangy, and the red onions drew in the flavor profile rather nicely. It was seasoned with pepper as well and with the macaroni cooked to near perfection, you couldn't go wrong here. Now their Bacon, Egg and cheese on a hard roll left much to be desired. More BREAD than egg and bacon....You could barely see it from the side, let alone taste anything. I was sadly disappointed in their excuse for a breakfast sandwich. It lacked style, ingredients and flavor. This brings us over to their Apple Crisp! Fresh apples, cinnamon and granola goodness that made up for the horrible breakfast sandwich. Each bite of the crisp sent harps my way to play me a melody of tasty treats. Not too bad but between their. questionable customer service and my breakfast sandwich, I can only give Jim's an overall score of 3.5.

Whoopie pie flavors are chocolate, chocolate chip, maple, and peanut butter; super fresh and soft. My favorite snacks are the honey cheese puffs, coffee, and various candies. They're name brand items are quality and flavorful! The service was good when I went and the gas prices were comparable to other gas stations. They have a rewards app; gain point for purchases and receive discounts from it.

It's a convenience store, so don't walk in expecting a miniature Big Y. But as far as these things…read morego, this one's pretty darn good for what it is. They just rearranged everything, so it's navigable. A decent beer selection in the back, a small sandwich counter, lots of snacks and beverage cases, and tobacco products for those that require them [self not included]. Sometimes I just stop by for a snack, sometimes I go for the $4.99 special, which gets you a 12" grinder, chips and a drink. Make it an 8" grinder instead, and the special is only $3.99. That's as good or better than Subway as I see it. If you're in this area, it's... well... convenient!
