If you're a senior citizen early bird that doesn't work during business hours during the week, Beacon could be the place for you. But, if you're not in that category, like myself, please- seek any where else for your prescriptions. There's no way to easily check the status of your prescriptions. You have to call and get a pharmacy teammate on the line. Again, if you're not a senior citizen they already have some friendship with in town, you're not going to get good service. Every staff member seems to treat younger to middle age adults such as myself with a terrible, accusatory demeanor, even if you're there just to pick up some vitamin D. They also will not call you to let you know your prescription is ready, or if there's a problem with it. They expect you to come down so they can inconveniently let you down in person. If you're LGBTQ+, stay far from this pharmacy. Despite being their client for several years, and despite the fact I even legally changed my name and gender, you will not be treated with respect at this pharmacy. You WILL be misgendered. If you don't get misgendered, you'll get a soul-burning side eye when picking up your hormone therapy medications, because in their opinion, why would a young woman have an estrogen and spironolactone script, or a young man a testosterone script? Over the years, these people never tried to be inclusive, or at a minimum, respectful, to me or my family. If you're a senior or their friend from town, they will shower you with praise and attention, and even do things they say they can't do for others, like split up scripts, allow cash payments when insurance goes awry, etc. For me, they tried to charge a full copay for a 2/30 pill script, with no cash option, with the 28/30 coming from my new pharmacy. My other pharmacy understood why I'd want to split it (it takes 2 days to arrive and I was out of meds). These folks, however, did not. While I was waiting for them to get their stuff together regarding my split script (surprise: they couldn't get it together), they actually offered the cash deal to another patient in line who had insurance issues. The pharmacist asks the guy, "oh how many do you think she'll want, we can split it up no problem", but for me, it was "tough luck". They were about to close in 20 minutes and kept telling me it would "take a while" for them to contact my insurance. I asked if I should stick around or go home. They told me to do what I want. I stuck around. Groundhog day happened 3 minutes later- same conversation. Asked them if they want me to go home or stick around, and they said the same thing. They obviously wanted me to leave, but they would rather make me feel uncomfortable- but *hey*, they gave me a choice- right? So, I don't get to have my medication for the next two days while I await my prescription from my new pharmacy, who actually knows how to communicate with their patients. Avoid this place. At all costs. You can get medical equipment at many other places. There is no longer anything unique about this pharmacy that other places can't do, so there's no reason at all to utilize them. If you're obsessed with the small town feel, fortunately there's Bristol Pharmacy on Main Street to try.

Catalyzed by the treatment I received over the phone by a pharmacy tech who was irked by the fact I wanted to follow my doctor's recommendation to start taking a new dose of my medication. After a day of it not being filled, I called to inquire on the status of the prescription. I was told that "they didn't have it in stock and to not expect it until tomorrow after 3 pm". When I asked if they could transfer the new rx to the other Walgreens- just as they regularly do to me for other prescriptions- the woman grew incredibly volatile with me, and scolded me that it was a "narcotic" and to not bother them again until 3 pm the next day. I called my physician to ask them what my course of action should be since I was denied my prescription, yet again. Prescriptions not being in stock at this Walgreens and making me wait days to over a week started becoming an alarming new "normal". I've always been polite and cooperative regarding this Walgreens' problems. I did not deserve to be yelled at like some drug seeker because I tried to find out what was going on with my prescription that was delayed several times. My physician called this Walgreens, and was told that yes, the medication was in fact in stock, and that all was ok and I could pick it up. So, how come it wasn't available until *after* 3 pm the NEXT day for me, but was in stock and ready to fill when the doctor called? Was the prescription my physician faxed over not good enough? With the differing results, I had it with Walgreens. I've only been really patient and super kind with this extremely large pharmacy that never seems to have prescriptions in stock, and I've only been met with apprehension, curtness, and rudeness. My doctor's office was so extremely understanding. They, too, were put off by this pharmacy's antics and how they both lied to me and talked down to me like I was such a bother. My doctor's office then helped me transfer everything over to Beacon Pharmacy- our small-town pharmacy. Within 30 minutes, my prescription was ready. A few hours later, at my convenience, I drove down and got it. Everyone at Beacon was super kind, and no one talked down to me for having questions. I stayed with this Walgreens so long because I didn't realize there was a better way I could be treated as a patient. I thought pharmacists and pharmacy techs were short and rude to all- because that's all I've ever seen from the Walgreens staff. I wish I switched 10 years ago.

But I don't let things go that easy and I have to say I'm happy I stuck with it because Within the last few months this store has turned itself around and has become very reliable for example I had surgery the other day and within a few minutes my medication was ready also when my son was at the walk-in his medication was ready as soon as we were leaving the door of the walk-in. I was very impressed by the CVS Pharmacy. The store itself is very clean and has a lot of stuff stocked in it especially for last minute Christmas gift and sweets and for everything else we go to CVS for. The staff is very nice and friendly the lines are not as long as it used to be at all I especially like the self checkout option. This is the standard Walmart you see every where. It's busy and the parking lot can be chaotic, that is why we parked far away. They had a good selection of affordable clothes and various other items like home goods. Overall, a pretty good Walmart to get all of your necessities.
