I like this location! Its your standard drugstore, but the employees are SO FRIENDLY! Usually when I'm asked if I need help finding something, I say no and pretend that I'm browsing while instead frantically searching for what I came for. I gave in though and asked for help finding at least 4 different items. Not only did the wonderful employee happily help, but then brought me right up and rung up my purchase. Even when I've purchased with no employee assistance, the checkers are so happy and friendly. PS: there are also way more than 4 parking spaces for patrons (guessing at a minimum of 30 spots) and even before when I was just a toruist and not a local, they had no problem honoring my doc's rx when I was stuck up there without medication. Really difficult experience with CVS. We had a prescription for my wife which I tried to pick up for her because she does not want to leave the home in the pandemic. I tried to register in the app as a family/caretaker, but it locked me out for 24 hours--the app said that because our last names are different that it might be a problem, and directed to calling their customer service, which I did, and waited for 64 minutes to finally hear a ring over the hold tunes, only to hear silence for several minutes of unanswered pleas, and finally to be disconnected. An epic fail for CVS. The pharmacist who my wife spoke with told her to pick it up. In frustration, my wife then travelled to this CVS to pick up the prescription, only to be told that it had been mailed, to an address that doesn't receive USPS mail, so of course it will be "undeliverable" and my wife was not able to pick up her prescription and the attendant told her to come back in 3 days when the item is returned, which of course doesn't help acquiring the needed medication! And she never asked that it be mailed out! Super epic fail CVS! read more

Week 1- requested CVS transfer my prescriptions Week 2- had not heard from them, so called and learned they never bothered to transfer yet Week 3- the prescriptions were partially in, but they could not manage the insurance Week 4- still waiting for Darlene to get her disorganization in hand. Still trying to accurately fill prescriptions after getting them wrong Week 5- talked to the pharmacy supervisor who also was unable to be useful. Called our doctor to switch ALL of our prescriptions to Walgreens. We had ALL of our prescriptions filled, properly billed to insurance, and in our hands within 24 hours. Big Bear CVS is the worst. I love CVS but, the guy working the register when I went in on 3/24/17 was ridiculous. He wouldn't scan my rewards card and insisted on entering it by hand on his key pad. When I tried using my rewards coupons, they would not scan and he basically told me sorry about your bad luck. When I asked him to re-enter my number for my card, he refused saying he entered it right the first time. The manager came over, who was on the phone and distracted during all of this, and was able to override my coupon. When I got my receipt I noted the card number was different from MY card number on the coupon. He could not explain how this happened only to say it happens sometimes Thankfully, I will likely never visit this CVS again. read more

Ridiculously understaffed pharmacy. Only one person in the pharmacy. Couldn't keep up with drive thru or in store line. I understand that overstaffing ruins your profitability and sometimes people call in sick or just don't show up at all, but a large business like cvs should be able to provide better customer service. read more

CVS in Big Bear - I transferred my meds to CVS and within a day the amazing staff refilled everything that needed to be filled. The staff is super helpful and kind. It's really hard to find good service anywhere these days and I'm so thankful I transferred to CVS. read more

Greg is helpful and nice to talk with. The Susan (manager) I have always liked, she is always helpful and is fun to talk with about anything. :-) In regards to Susie (the one that has been there over 20 years) normally she is my favorite person there, not anymore! As the old saying goes you should never talk about politics or religion, unless you want to get into an argument. I have respect for everyone's decision on what they want to do in their lives, but if someone wants to be brain washed by Dump (tRump) that is their problem. I don't need to know that her family members used to be or still are a member of the KKK and she seemed to be okay with it. I hate people like that, and that is whats wrong with America, people like that. I also don't need to know that Michelle Obama is a man and Obama is gay. Susie was really trying to convince me of this? Even if it was true, so what! I wouldn't care, I'm not sexist or racist. Her dislike for the Obama's came across, as she is racist. Lazy pharmacy staff. They refused to do a prior authorization for a medication prescribed for a patient because they assume it will be denied by the insurance. They should have sent the request and get response from insurance and not to assume. read more

I truly am not type of person to write yelp reviews over one bad experience somewhere. I have compassion for anyone in the service industry and understand that I will never know what it's like to walk a mile in anyone else's shoes. People have bad days and can misguide those feelings in the wrong direction. I know that cause I am human and have done it myself. That being said I don't know what else to do in this instance as I have never been so disappointed and felt so downright disrespected in my life. From the moment I walked in to pick up a very simple antibiotic prescription "Chelsea" was beyond rude then began to become disingenuous when answering my questions and worst of all misleading regarding my wait time for fulfillment. There was not a soul in the pharmacy and she told me it would be a "couple of hours". When I asked if she could be more specific she replied "no" then swiftly within hearing distance started discussing me and my business with a co-working in a very distasteful manner. Now for the worst part. As I am sitting in the empty waiting area there have been two prescriptions dropped off. Both of which have been told their prescriptions would be filled in 30 minutes. Both fulfilled ahead of mine. So now my antibiotic is being held hostage by an immature and misguided pharmacist who should not be in the business of helping people who are sick. I would strongly encourage anyone to avoid using this pharmacy at all costs. I would also encourage management to take a strong look at this young ladies moral compass and ask themselves if this is the type of person they want handling people's health and well being. I certainly do not trust her with mine. I hope this helps some of you people avoid being stereotyped and unfairly treated. read more

I just wanted to give a BIG KUDOS to the pharmacy staff. Thanks to Chelsea, Laura, Darleen, Barb, and Annie. We moved up here 5 years ago and my wife is on a pain management program for her back disease and a few other chronic issues. Since she takes opioid pain meds to help manage her pain and life, there is a lot of government obstacles that makes it difficult. Some politicians think they are more educated about managing pain then the doctor who she has been seeing for over 12 years. They make it difficult for the pharmacist and the staff. I have to deal with the pharmacy 2-3 times a month, and am moving to Arizona. I am afraid that trying to find a pharmacy staff as good at this one is going to be tough if not impossible. They even want me to always bring my dog so they can give her a treat. We are going to miss you guys if I don't decide to drive up every month for a visit. So apparently the pharmacy employees are too lazy to do their jobs! The webpage for renewals wants four full days to refill prescriptions. I called and request help in filling prescriptions, was told NO as it takes time. Seriously? No customer service. Rude, lazy employees. I hope they go out of business and these lazy people don't get jobs elsewhere. read more

We were vacationing in Big Bear and I forgot my blood pressure med at home. I called the pharmacy to make sure it was ok for them to do that. They were very nice over the phone and answered all my questions. The dr sent the RX and it was filled in about 20 minutes. Went to pick it up and no issues. Very friendly staff as well. read more
