Easy's General Store is a super convenient local spot in Sugarloaf whenever I need to pop in and grab a bag of ice. While we usually do our big grocery runs elsewhere, Easy's is a total lifesaver to have right in the neighborhood when you run out of something unexpected or get stuck. They keep a surprisingly great variety of everyday essentials in stock--everything from milk and eggs to just about any quick item you might need. Loved this store, has everything I needed. Girl at the register was a little weird but other than that everyone else was great.

There are no price tags! on any produce! (not even sure it's legal) So they basically charge you whatever they want. Prices are about 4 times higher than any supermarket and twice higher than other small, local convenience stores located about 3 miles away from Easy's. They also sell many expired produces. I didn't check the milk expiration date, it was 4 days over and had to trash it. They don't give receipts by default either so I couldn't return it. read more

The staff is always nice....... But the place is a dump, it's ugly the outside is dirty and dingy. Needs a facelift. Some items I bought were expired (eww). A little paint goes a long way come on! Went in a minute before they closed for a 30 second transaction. They FLIPPED. It was a chill Wednesday night. They kept yelling at me saying they would refuse my service and I could "get the fuck out of THEIR store". It made me upset and after I got my simple purchase, I went to the car and my husband was upset that I was upset. So he went in and said "don't talk to my wife that way" they then ran out to the parking lot yelling "LETS GO LETS FIGHT RIGHT NOW WHAT MOTHERFUCKER?!" And we drove away. I'm a local and have been coming here for years. I asked for the owner manager the following day and they said they would not give me any of his contact info. They just get to act however they want. This store is great. Stayed at an Air BnB nearby with a broken heater, all we had was a fireplace and limited essentials to operate said fireplace. Went to Easy and they had everything I needed, plus advice to help me warm up the house for the family. I highly recommend this great neighborhood store, they do indeed have just about everything. I picked over their fire stuff, but also saw chains, snowball toys, food, beer (which I also bought) laundry stuff, you name it. This is a quaint, small store in the heart of Sugarloaf, Big Bear. We usually stop by here if we are in town and need a few items. This is a family-owned business, they are usually nice and friendly. The store is crowded, but they carry a nice variety of supplies. Minus 1 star for the lack of cleanliness and minus 1 star for charging different prices than what is advertised. Again, this is a small convenience store so they do charge inconvenient prices. However, if you need a couple items then it is nice to stop by and support a small business. We stopped by this place while visiting Big Bear because it wasnopen during Christmas when we arrived. We needed a few quick items and this was super convenient. They are very well stocked with many items from sleds to tire chains to grocery items. Ut also appears that the items are replenished often. The guy that works evenings is super friendly. He was very helpful. On our last night, we stopped by to buy tire chains because we knew it would snow that night. The guy came to take a look at our tires to help us get the right size. He sold us the tire chains. We realized it was the wrong size when we tried putting on the chains. ‍ We came back in the morning to ask for a possible exchange and the owner was there. He was not very friendly and was pretty rude. He lectured me in front of everyone in the busy store about this not being his fault and being unable to return tire chains. I explained his guy gave me the wrong size. I provided the tire size for my car however tells me he doesnt carry that size. After being lectured like a child and embarrassed, he gave me a partial refund and basically said that was as much as he could do. I can be understanding of many things including the unable to return the chains however the rudeness and attitude were very unnecessary. I will not return to this store when in Big Bear again. Typically, I would rather support a small business than a large chain like Vons or Walmart, however I will drive further to Vons next time. read more

This place has saved me numerous times. Having a cabin in the area, it's a MUST to have Easy's General Store within a walking distance away. I mainly stop in for firewood, alcohol, drinks, ice and snacks. Otherwise, we would have to drive about 5 miles into town for these items. Their Alcohol selection is very plentiful with options you wouldn't think a place like this would carry. Their motto is, if Easy's doesn't carry it, than you don't need it. Looking like something out of a horror film, I finally got brave enough to step on in. To my surprise, this is one great liquor store that has a little bit of everything. When I say a little, I mean little of everything. In the morning, the hot plates have ZERO (can you throw me a breakfast burrito), but in the evening this thing has MEAT on it...REAL MEAT. Yes! A very convenient store. If you need something for a quick fix. Easy has an answer for you. Sugar Loaf is in a area where you don't have any other options. Do they take advantage of it, maybe. I would rather pay the extra then go into town. Now if you use this place to do your grocery shopping, then you have an issue. They have a little of everything, and then some. When I went there they also offered cooked food. And it wasn't that bad either. Again, great place to get you out of a jam, or gets some snacks. read more

I love this place! We have a cabin here in Sugarloaf, and it's the only store to get anything really, but like their slogan says, "if we don't have it you don't need it" The guys working are always nice and helpful. Make sure double check the dates on items like meat and soda, a couple times what we bought was bad/past the date:/ owell, still love this place. Being from down the mountain, I wish it were a little nicer or cleaned up, but I guess that's the mountain charm..... Make sure to pick up a shirt too, their logo is cute:) read more

Do not purchase items you can't confirm are spoiled. Purchased a bottle of wine which turned out to be spoiled. Went back within 30 minutes of purchasing and the guy at the register refused to refund or exchange for the same item. This is really disappointing as we've been coming here for a while. read more

I think it is hilarious that people complain about high prices at a convenience store with no other stores around. It's simple economics. You are paying for the convenience of being able to pick up a few things close by in the wilderness. Little stores like this don't get the discounted prices big stores get for buying in bulk and having companies pay to position their items on their shelves. Ok people, there's your economics lesson. The owner of this store, which is in a small town affiliated with Big Bear calif. was talking to his employee while I was shopping in his store. He was having a personal conversation about his children having issues, and every other word was the "F" word. I was so offended, only because we were on a small vacation hoping we were leaving negativity behind for a couple days. I confronted him about it and all he did was argue with me about being impulsive about HIS situation. He argued with me the whole time I shopped and said it was his store. Avoid this place if possible. They don't put prices on most of the products. You get it the counter and find out stuff is marked up 100% from regular grocery store prices. A Thrifty 1.5 quart of ice cream that is a $3 in the store is $7 here. A bottle of Jameson that is $25 at the store is $50 here. When I said something to the guy about this robbery he said if I didn't like I could go somewhere else. Which we did. Save your money and go to the market that's on the Blvd just a few miles away. read more

Recently came here on a trip to Sugarloaf. I expected prices to be higher up the mountain than down... But as a non local I had major sticker shock. Two boxes of frozen fried chicken cost me $23. Other prices where not as shocking. Top ramen cost $1 instead of the 33¢ I'm used to. Definitely not this store's fault, but just a head's up for non locals. The main point of this three star review is that I wish this store had larger variety. We came in because we left our ground turkey and grilled chicken at home accidentally, and no where in this store was anything fresh. We wanted to have a salad but there wasn't lettuce. I'm not sure where people in Sugarloaf buy unprocessed food. read more

Cash only!! Easy's is just that, easy. Very convenient for folks in Sugarloaf. You don't have to go into town for milk, eggs, etc. I would not do any serious shopping here as it is way above average in price. I had the unfortunate experience of paying $7 for a plunger at 6:30AM on a Sunday morning, but I'm willing to pay for the convenience if it's an emergency. Stay away from this store- it is a overpriced place ran by guys who pretend to be nice but they will rob you in front of everybody and then rob them later. No marked prices on their sometimes expired goods & they will not give you an exact price and in the end you will pay arms & legs for a common grocery item. This is just down the street from Dad in Laws place, and although I agree with some of the reviews in that it is kind of pricey, it sure beats driving into town for milk...you would spend that much for gas and of course frustration... They do have everything you could ask for, even a Hookah pipe. I can't say I would do my weekly shop here for Cecil, but if you need something in a pinch, they are bound to have it. read more

Easy's is hard on the wallet! This store takes total advantage of the location and the fact that it is the only store in Sugarloaf! A regular dozen of eggs will cost 3.99 (not organic) is this guys kidding? Note look at the date on the beer too what a rip off Id rather chew nails than give this guy anymore of my money! A very long time ago Easy's used to be an almost fun place to visit. They made pizza and broasted chicken along with a few other little fast food items. It was pretty tasty too. There was even a couple of gas tanks to fuel up on. It was a convenience store so the stock was limited and always overpriced. however when you needed a quick something to grab or it was a holiday and the major stores were closed this was a great little place to grab something. Many changes of ownership and years have changed this rustic place to an icky run down convenience store sans the nice pizza and broasted chicken and gas tanks. I only go there now when there's absolutely no other choice for me. read more
