Visited this pharmacy on August 8th, and was informed for the first time that the prescription expired 30 days after my doctor sent it in, and that I would now need my doctor to submit a new prescription. When I asked if the medication was now available, the pharmacist looked into it and indicated that it was not until further notice. She also disclaimed any responsibility for past actions of the pharmacy since she had not been there. So in the end, I waited three months as directed by this place twice to learn: 1. My prescription was no longer valid, 2. My doctor needs to submit a new prescription, and 3. Even if I followed this new information, the pharmacy still could not obtain the medicine I need. I know that modern life is complex, but I draw the line at farcical, inconsiderate and incompetent.

There was no line on the other side, yet I still waited. Eventually, a young woman approached and asked if I needed help. I told her I would like to speak with the pharmacist. When the pharmacist came over, her facial expression alone made me feel as though I had done something wrong. Her demeanor and lack of customer service were disappointing. I asked if she could recommend something for my 14-year-old who was experiencing flu-like symptoms, and all she said was "Tylenol." She did not ask a single follow-up question about his symptoms, nor did she direct me to the appropriate aisle. I'm glad I didn't rely on her advice because I went to another aisle myself and found something more appropriate for his symptoms. My point is this: when working with the public whether as a cashier or a pharmacist professionalism is essential. You chose this career, knowing it involves interacting with customers. Whatever kind of day you're having should not interfere with the quality of service you provide.

The only negative of this location is its hours - it isn't open 24/7 and closes pretty early at 10pm daily. CVS in general isn't a favorite of mine because of the lack of healthy snacks available. There aren't many organic or non-gmo options and the granola bars they have are usually stale and hard (yuck). Plus the photo printing is usually of lackluster quality. But for a quick birthday card or toiletry item it's a convenient choice. I do recommend this location and wish I could give them 3.5 stars, because it's a little better than just "A-OK" but I'm not exactly a "fan," so 3 stars it is.

They still call and leave prerecorded messages and texts to tell you your script is ready. You get there, they tell you it is NOT ready and to come back in a half hour. This last time, I went to pick her up items she uses regularly and I stood in line way too long to check out only because they have 1 cashier at the register taking care of people in line AND the people with problems (and there were quite a few) with the self checkout! On June 22,2023 I called to find out if Citracal, calcium supplement was in stock before I went there. Francesca checked and said they do not have it. I asked is she would order it as I have done many times in the past. She said she did not know how to do that and asked me to call back the following day. I inquired if Mike was there and she said no, Bob was. On June 23th I called again, a girl answered; I identified myself and the reason for my call. She put Francesca on the phone and she asked who normally orders for you. She put Mike on the phone and what transpired astonished me. Mike raised his voice and had an attitude, he said if I continue to be rude to his staff that I should take my business elsewhere. I was in shock; he is always so pleasant and helpful. I could not believe this outrage was over a bottle of calcium. I explained as stated above, he asked her and she said I called her incompetent. I offered to come in and tell the truth in front of her. Mike explained she is in pharmacy school and has been with him for 8 months. Mike came very close to calling me a liar. He then checked if the calcium was in stock, said he would order it and said I am sorry for the misunderstanding. I told him this will happen again with someone else and you will then know the truth. Perhaps Francesca thinks that she is going to be a pharmacist and taking an order is not in her status description. Town Drugs has been a fixture in the community for as long as I can remember and I am now 80 years old.

The storefront is modest, doesn't shout at you in big bold neon, but once you discover it you can understand why. I wound up here because New York State's DMV seems to have realized a fundamental fact - nobody likes dealing with them. In order to keep legitimately taking your money for driver's license renewals though, they needed someone to at least check that you're not driving with the assistance of a red and white cane. Their website pointed me to Precision Pharmacy as a place that would be able to provide me an eye test and then forward the results of that onwards to the NYS DMV so I could renew my license online. Total win - I walked in, headed straight to the pharmacy counter in the back, asked about the eye test, and less than 10 minutes later and with $20 to Precision I was able to entirely skip the DMV experience for another half decade. The staff were an absolute pleasure to deal with, and I wound up lingering to marvel at the the breadth of product selection Precision has. I'll be back long before my license needs renewing to support this fine local business.
