This was an early evening visit to the Ardmore, PA CVS. In the past it was the worst pharmacy ever, but tonight it was the best. I had to have a script transferred from another state and they did it well, and at pick up the person cashing us out was pleasant and had a sense of humor. There was no wait time When we didn't find an item quickly, the stock person who was actually the manager found the items quickly from supply and cheerfully brought them out.The cashier in the front was also fast and pleasant. Sharing another horrible experience I had at CVS. A prescription was phoned into the Ardmore store four days ago. I stopped by today to pick it up and after standing in line to wait for my turn, I was told that it wasn't ready. This is not the first time they sat on a prescription and I only found out there was a problem when I arrived to pick it up. They asked me to wait while they prepared it, which I did. But 15 minutes later the prescription still wasn't ready. Instead, I got a lame excuse for why it still wasn't ready and I asked them to be transferred to another store. After wasting an 1 1/2 hours with CVS Ardmore, i spent another 45 minutes trying to reach the other store to confirm that they actually sent the prescription over and that they have the medication. Good thing I spent that time trying to reach the other pharmacy because Ardmore never sent the prescription them. They are still sitting on it. Their laziness and incompetence. literally interfering with my ability to get my medication. CVS is an abominable company. It would be horrible for any company to operate the way they do but especially considering that they are such a critical part of the healthcare system... supplying medication to people who need it, someone should shut them down. Incompetence. Have been a customer - in hindsight I really must question why - and will no longer be. Always something. And never answers or help. Can't fill a simple prescrip. Can't get names, birth date, address correct. Avoid this place. Truly, remarkably incompetent. Unhelpful. I am (almost) speechless. Wonderful CVS down the road in Wynnewood. CVS Pharmacy - One of the Managers of CVS Location - Drugstores Near Me - ARDMORE, Pennsylvania

This is the pharmacy I use when I'm filling perceptions for myself or anyone in my immediate family. Recently it has fallen off quite a bit. There is now a near 100% chance you will be waiting in line to pick up your perception. Often by the time I reach the front of the line (usually 20 minutes) my perception is still not filled despite the fact that my doctor called in the prescription hours earlier. This place just always seems to be swamped. I did overhear someone from behind the counter defend the length of time everything now takes citing the fact that "no one wants to work anymore" however I think compensation for that very stressful and demanding job where nights and weekends are probably mandatory is probably not adequate. In addition CVS as a whole has a major pricing issue, they will not price match (even their own internet prices) which leads to some major price gauging. I do applaud them for banning the sale of tobacco products... That is a major step in the right direction! Parking here is a bit chaotic but mostly because everyone is always in a hurry. The L shaped lot has extra parking to the back left which is usually full of empty spaces. During Covid they didn't do the best jobs of organizing their lines for vaccines... On more than one occasion I've seen people wait in the vaccine line only to be told to go to the back of the prescription line and other times people waited in the perception line and was told "oh next time go right to the vaccine line". It was not clear or consistent. Hopefully they fix that! read more

This isn't my usual drugstore, but when in the area I always stop off at this CVS. They have amazing staff and great products. This CVS is giant compared to other local drugstores. While it is on the older side, it is kept up to date. For example, they installed machines that allow you to upload your photos and then print them on nice paper. This CVS has a large variety of products from make-up, to snacks, to cards. They had around 2-3 aisles devoted to basic-needs like deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, facial-cleaners, etc. They even had half an aisle devoted to travel-sized items. They even had an end-display totally devoted to toy cars. Unlike other local drugstores the aisles here are clean and everything is well organized. At checkout, Charles, the cashier was really great. He was kind, personable and helpful. My main concern with this CVS is the parking. The parking lot is small and the spots are narrow. Other than that, everything is great about this CVS! The pharmacy never has prescriptions ready at the promised time. I filled a prescription and was promised it at 2:45. It wasn't done at 5:30, and now I'll have to make an additional trip (with no guarantee that it will be ready if I wait another hour). This has happened multiple times and they blame being "busy." Called CVS Ardmore PA pharmacy to cancel a prescription that has been pending for over a month - they ordered and it hasn't come in. (Found another pharmacy where med was in stock.) On hold for over 1/2 hour listening to music and repeated message to download there app. (*I don't download apps.) Gave up and called the manager who advised he had nothing to do with the pharmacy but was kind enuff to walk back with phone in hand to advise them I was on hold. After 5 minutes, I was cut off. I'm sorry but this location needs to be temporary closed or they need to find a real solution to this recent inability to fill prescription crisis. Corporate or headquarters response to this CVS' inability to fill life saving prescriptions is borderline NEGLIGENT AND LIABLE! A few weeks ago they were behind by two weeks... at the time of this post they said to be behind by 2 MONTHS on all prescriptions!!! This is not acceptable!! Personally I'll be fine but I have parents who actually rely on their meds to live! If they can't fill a script in time they should say so! I'm not talking about waiting an hour or the same day. Please don't lie and claim it will be done in an hour or within days when it will take several days or even weeks!! This catch-up game is dangerous and could cost someone their life or send them to a hospital! I'm not putting this on local staff either. CVS corporate is at fault here! instead of getting needed help at the store they are making staff deal with extremely irate customers. This is absolutely irresponsible and could create an unnecessary emergency or death. There needs to be more transparency or an actual solution. This catch-up game is obviously not working. CVS corporate needs advise clients appropriately in advance so the elderly and those with life ending conditions can plan ahead and ensure they have access to life saving medication in time. read more

My husband and I had an extremely rude experience with the pharmacy at this cvs. We were in line for our booster shots and a South Asian pharmacist handled us very poorly. She didn't allow me to ask questions and got my prescription information wrong, which also made my husband and I lose confidence in receiving a shot from someone who was rude and couldn't type in my insurance information correctly. I understand that the pharmacy is probably understaffed and overwhelmed, even so, there's no excuse for rudeness. read more

No surprise for the really low reviews. The problem is not that they have shortage of staff working in the pharmacy but that the service is so unpolite even rude! I cant say the name of the oriental(sorry no name or badge to be identify) lady that works there as she is not displaying her name but she is SO RUDE. Managers should supervise that the employees treat people with respect. In addition to the waiting line about one hour in line, if you are an elderly person or have problems walking, please take measures as there are not accommodations for elderly people. You will still have to make a long line and then expose yourself to be treated by a rude personal or that they don't have your prescription available. Don't bother to call, they wont answer. Again the problem of shortage of people to work is not an excuse to treat your clients in a rude way. Be kind! read more

This is the worst pharmacy I have ever used. Do not waste your time trying to get a prescription. I have been going here for years and it has gone downhill in the last year. They are inefficient, constantly fail to fill prescriptions, claim they have not received prescriptions that doctors confirm were called in, have excessively long wait times, never seem to care or acknowledge mistakes... the list goes on and on. If you're looking for a pharmacy, look elsewhere. To end on a positive note, the rest of the store is fine, generally well stocked and they have friendly cashiers. read more

I could write a book on how terrible their pharmacy is. At the top of the list is the fact that 9 times out of 10 they don't fill your script when you call it in, they just wait till you get there. Well that can go horribly awry if you get there and they're sold out of what you needed and it's a script that can't be transferred and they never called you to warn you when you called it in because remember they never bothered to fill it in the first place and now it's well past business hours on a Friday evening and there's no way to reach your doctor and that means you won't get your script for 3 days and now you're truly in trouble and there's nothing you can do about it. Run on! Seriously, if you have any kind of chronic illness or anything that requires monthly scripts, go elsewhere. Trust me. You can find better customer service from a frickin' brick wall. I am such a fan of this CVS. So much so, that I pass by two other pharmacies on my walk here and still insist on coming back! First of all, the store is huge. I can usually get some very productive one-stop shopping done here because the selection is so great. It is very clean, bright, and well-organized. Make sure you sign up for the free rewards card. The coupons are awesome--20% or more most of the time. You can also "download" the e-mail coupons to your rewards card so they automatically show up at check-out, which is totally amazing if you're forgetful like me! The staff is great too, I'm not sure what the other reviews are talking about. My prescriptions always arrive in time and everyone is very cheerful. Team CVS all the way! read more

Lately, the pharmacy has been hopeless. They don't answer the phone, they promise to fill a prescription by a certain time and 18 hours later it still isn't done... I like shopping at this store for self-serve stuff on the shelves, but right now I recommend against using the pharmacy. Plenty of other options around here. read more

Well, Assistant Manager Dalton is the epitome of Customer Service: he was what I remember about loving CVS as a brand and being loyal to them. If I knew everyone at CVS would be like him, I would never have to go to RiteAid or Walgreens again. But note: this CVS location just made their parking lot isle narrower (it was already narrow before), and their endcaps extend so far into the isles that everywhere is narrow: isles and the ends of isles in the store, and the parking lot. read more

This was my local Cvs that I always used for prescriptions and such, but sometimes the one pharmacist that was there at night wasn't very nice. It was a young woman who was pregnant at the time, and she was really not pleasant. She just didn't look like she wanted to speak to anybody most times and it made me not want to ask any questions about meds I got from them. However, many of their pharmacy techs are nice and have great customer service skills. This store location is very organized and clean, so I do like coming here more than some of the CVS's in the city. read more

I had such a positive experience with the cashier Drew in the front of this CVS this evening. I called looking for a particular item, a young man answered the phone, looked for the item and since there were only 2 available, he held one at the register for me. When I came in I looked for a few other items and saw the cashier interact so pleasantly with everyone who walked in the store. When I came up and said I had called he handed me my item. This is the worst pharmacy I have ever been to. They always have a plethora of people working there, yet can't seem to get anything done in a timely manner. They don't read their computer systems correctly when other CVS's send over prescriptions, they can't find them. They won't give you an emergency pill if you run out even if the prescription had been filled at another CVS pharmacy, forget your health. One time they said they would call my doctor for a refill and three hours later the doctor's secretary called me and said they never received a call from CVS, so I had to have him call CVS. Why is this so incredibly hard for them with 3-5 people always working at once? I used to go to the CVS pharmacy in Fairmount and they had one (1) person working there almost always and it was just the pharmacist. She was extremely personable and timely and there was never an issue filling anything. She even knew my name. The​ wait was almost always a max of 15 minutes despite how many people were waiting. CVS in Ardmore has only one saving grace, it's 24 hours, a hard thing to find these days. But, it makes sense because it takes them forever​ to fill prescriptions that other pharmacies have ready in 15 minutes with the same number of people waiting. Ardmore CVS also doesn't have workers that know how to check you out. There is a dull look of constant confusion on their​ faces and trying to pay for anything else from the store and using a coupon is painful. They have no idea what they are doing, which the manager agreed with me about. I suggest a private pharmacy, they are almost always better. Rite Aid in Ardmore also is slow and seemingly inept at getting anything done. read more

They just keep on moving that bar as low as humanly possible... Apparently even counting isn't a requirement to be a pharmacist at this store. My sig other picked up her 30-day-supply, returned home, and discovered that there were but 2 -- yes, you read that correctly -- _2_ pills in her bottle. No insurance issues, it wasn't intended to be a partial fill. She called immediately and they confirmed that, yes, there should have been a lot more tablets in the bottle and that they had no idea how the scrip ended up being released with _2_ pills. 93% of the pills just weren't dispensed. How the hell do you miss 93%?! And, as always, every other CVS in the area BUT the Ardmore location had MY pills in stock. read more

This CVS is very difficult to drive in and out of. Not sure why they decided to put it in this place/location. That being said the pharmacy is the worst. If you are in a hurry don't go here. There always seems like there are a lot of people working in the area but aren't helping any of the customers. You can wait forever to ask a question or pick up and pay for a prescription. Also don't call on the phone trying to get thru to the pharmacy. I just called today and hung up after waiting 19 minutes on hold. I called again as I really needed to get thru to refill a prescription and waited 25 minutes. Ridiculous. read more

I go here often and at my last visit, I noticed that bug spray was on the makeup aisle. Bug spray should be nowhere near any face products and listerine mouth wash (which it was right next to). I expect better from the Main line. read more

This CVS is large, clean, bright, and well-stocked, with personable staff. It's open 24 hours which is a huge plus, especially out here in the burbs where stores tend to close early. I agree with others who say this is the best pharmacy location in the area. read more

The store in general is run of the mill, but the pharmacy is horrible. There is always a line of people, and unfailingly, you have to wait for your prescriptions -- even if you call ahead, like the another reviewer said, you just have to accept that YOUR TIME WILL BE WASTED -- and wait. This winter, time and time again I would go in, see a snaking line of people -- many of whom would be sneezing/coughing/dripping body fluids -- and walk right out in the interests of personal health. I can live without my prescription for a few days. But the senior who goes in for their heart medication and walks out with flu once a month? This CVS is public health hazard. Some of the pharmacists are quite nice, but they are obviously swamped and the disorganized shelves dripping little bags don't inspire much confidence. My drugs are often misfiled under a misspelled version of my name, and inside the slightly misfiled bag is often a slightly wrong drug -- I have gotten generics when the prescription clearly said "brand name only" and upon complaining heard that they don't carry the brand, so take it or leave it. I have trouble understanding how this can happen so often. How hard is it to run a clean, bright, accurate, efficient pharmacy? read more

I cannot emphasize enough how much this CVS frustrates me. There always seems to be a problem, no matter how straight-forward the prescription should be. Long wait times, prescriptions not ready for pickup, misunderstandings...I've never just gone there and left with the prescription without hassle. The other day I was told to wait "just a minute," so, without other instruction, I stayed at the counter. After 10 minutes, I asked for an update and was told it'd take about 30 min longer! Why hadn't they told me it'd take that long to begin with? Meanwhile, they had let me stand there at the counter, slowing down the line, rather than giving me any indication of what was going on. On another visit, there was some sort of problem with all the computers, and I learned from the guy in line next to me that he also ALWAYS has problems with this location. I'm planning to transfer locations ASAP--I dread picking up from this location, it's always so stressful. Meds should not be this stressful. read more
