Visited during our trip to Seattle. Friendly service, great coffee, and they seemed to know everybody by name.

Ambiance: 5 Coffee: 5 Food: 4 Service: 3.5 Price: 3 Location: 3 Overall: 4 SHORT VERSION - I love the coffee at Cutter's Point it's hands down my favorite (along with the sauces they use). So if you are in the area, try it, all other factors aside it's worth at least one visit and the coffee itself is why I keep returning. The service is certainly isn't it. LONG VERSION: I love the coffee at Cutter's but the other factors really draw me to other places. The problem is that Cutter's coffee is still superior so I keep ending up back here. If their coffee wasn't so delicious, I'd rank them at or below below Starbucks (and I prefer most any place to Starbucks). I go to Cutter's nearly every single weekend. I mean almost without fail every single weekend. On rare occasions, I go there twice in one weekend. I have been ordering the same two drinks (or one drink if alone) for months. Every single time I am charged something slightly different. It isn't even a distinguishable pattern! One weekend the charge might be $9-something, next weekend it's $10-something. Every once in a while it's even higher - for the same two drinks! Same drinks, same sizes, made in the same way. I am not entirely clear what either drink should cost as one is a specialty custom drink and the other is standard but at a size that isn't priced on the menu. On top of that, they VERY frequently omit the whipped cream even though I specifically request it every single time. I also ask for light/less ice and they often get that part wrong. To their credit, they almost never get the drink itself wrong. It has gotten to be sort of a "place your bets" inside joke though with whether or not they remember the whipped cream. More often than not they don't. On a couple occasions I have bought their sausage breakfast sandwich or a donut. They don't make either of those things in house but wherever they get them from, the donut has been fairly average (I think it is gourmet or Top Pot but it didn't seem like it) and the sausage breakfast sandwich they heat to piping hot and it is amazing. Service is sometimes slow but that is to be expected because they only have 2-3 people working at a given time (at least on weekends around noon time). I don't fault them for that and they are generally very friendly without being overly talkative (which I am not a fan of personally, especially forced meaningless small talk). There is one girl there who I'm not particularly fond of (no idea who she is - I typically go through the drive thru). I order half-breve and half regular milk and she will say "so, whole milk." It is a personal pet peeve that she does this because whole milk is not the same thing and I don't know or care what their internal lingo for it is. If i ordered specifically "whole milk" I would envision they would use milk out of the gallon that has the red lid. I wouldn't expect them to mix milks like I'm asking. The point being not that the milk is that important but rather I think it's poor customer service. They also get my order wrong a lot more often than I would expect considering that I get the same drink every time. read more

I used to love this place but it has went downhill! The servers used to be so friendly. Now it's like customers are just interrupting them or something, not friendly at all! I have ordered the same drink every time and it's like a different server makes up a different cost each time so even though it's the same drink the cost is different every time and no one seems to know why. The last time when I said something about it the server was extremely rude and arguing with me about it. That was my lasts time going there! At least with Starbucks I know the cost will be the same and not changing with the servers attitude! You are in customer service, you are suppose to have a good attitude! read more

Cutter's Point has great coffee! The baristas are fast and friendly (and they know how to make the drinks! whatdoyaknowaboutthat?!), the espresso roast is awesome, and it is a fair price. Free Wi-Fi makes it a great study spot or just hang out spot- nice atmosphere and the wood bar is a beautiful touch. Also, love the happy hour ($1 off mon.-weds. 3-6pm). read more

Had my friend not brought me to this place, I never would have suspected that it is so classy inside! One of the best coffee places around.

Best coffee, staff is wonderful. Plus you can get a pumpkin spice latte year around.

Great location, live music on the weekends, free wifi and excellent customer service.

Best Cutters ever. I make it a point to stop by when I am in the area! They are very nice and engage with their customers. You feel like family when you go in to get your coffee! None of the other shops treat their customers like this one. They remember your order, make good conversation and have great customer service skills. All the girls at this location are amazing. I don't go anywhere else! Best coffee ever! The staff makes an effort to remember you and your fav drinks! They have a drive thru or you can walk in. Inside it is very rich feeling, with a fireplace and a little bit of Des Moines history added to it...old historical photos line the walls. Ice water is always fresh and cold in a wonderful glass pitcher next to the sugars and creams. I don't know why I like that, because I am obviously there for coffee, but I do! Sis and Jessica are sweethearts and we like them just as much as the delicious coffee! read more

Yes I must say that I do prefer Cutters to Starbucks. Starbucks has the masses covered but to sit down with the wife and enjoy the friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere and great coffee is the reason why we are there every weekend. Great job. read more

Stopped in here because my mom had heard about it and I loved it! I love espresso drinks that have a really strong coffee flavor and the white chocolate mocha was perfect. Cute, cozy atmosphere with a fireplace and I think there's wifi so it would be a fun place to come back to and study or work. Too bad there's not more places like this! read more

I LOVE Cutters Point! Not only the coffee but the staff as well. This is by far my favorite place to get coffee. I drive completely out of my way just to come here and it is well worth it. There is something special about the coffee, as if it has been roasted perfectly, I don't know what it is I can't put my finger on it, all I know is that it's delicious! Seriously the best coffee I've ever had. I have a friend who is a barista and I brought her to Cutters and now she ONLY drinks their coffee! And the service here is phenomenal! All of the ladies are so genuinely friendly and make you feel like a valued customer. I will continue to drive 20 minutes out of my way to get my caffeine fix! Great coffee - I have never had a bad Americano here. And the ladies that run this place are stellar - great personalities!

This isn't a coffee shop for really good high-end coffee, or for the unfinished tattoo and macbook pro set. The coffee is fine (better than Starbucks, etc.), I like the nitro cold brew, the service is consistently friendly if a little slow, and I've never had a problem finding a table. This is a popular hangout for police and firefighters. Ambiance is somewhere between cafeteria and cozy. read more

I am absolutely addicted to Cutters Point coffee, endlessly and hopelessly. There is this guy that works at the location touching Fred Meyer that make by far the best White mocha I have ever had from any coffee shop in the Seattle Area and that is saying something if you know anything about the history of coffee in Seattle. I would whole heartedly recommend this company to anyone who has a coffee addiction and enjoys warm and welcoming staff without the corporate feel being shoved down your throat. read more

Very disappointed in my visit today. Severe lack of customer service by the midday gal running the drive thru window. Could not believe her response to me when I asked why the price was different for the same order I received only the day before. Not only that, when I commented how the price of the same coffee was higher there than at Starbucks, she proceeded to argue with me about the number of shots in a drink I get everyday and how I was wrong. They need to spend more time training people who come into direct contact with customers because that entitled reaction of someone who clearly doesn't understand the meaning of customer service is not worth the extra price I paid for the coffee. read more

Worse customer service experience ever went thru drive thru and still had to pull over to wait for my bagel A BAGEL. I had to eventually turn my car off n go inside to grab it. read more

Started coming here about once a week as I like it much better than my other two usual shops. Pulled in on Sunday morning before my 12 hr shift at work to get my fix and waited behind another for 15-20 minutes. No I am not exaggerating. Being that I had given myself plenty of time to get coffee and then to work on time, I was thoroughly frustrated. At first, I thought the people in the car must not know standard drive thru etiquette and ordered coffees and breakfast for a veryyy large group. But I saw three drinks finally be passed through the window after about 10 minutes. Then, nothing. I finally inched my way around the car and out of the drive thru. I parked and went inside and calmly explained that I was picking up my order from the drive thru. (Please note the car behind me pulled around too, and left.) Barista said, "Sorry about that" but didn't offer anything aside from that. I also received the wrong change... received .80 less thank I should have. As an avid tipper, I wasn't planning on tipping due to how the situation was handled. I wish they would have asked the guests from the car in front of me to pull into a parking spot and wait there for a barista to bring the order once ready or just have come inside. If that couldn't have happened, would have been appreciated that the shop cover the price of my one latte due to the inconvenience... still not sure if they were incredibly understaffed, the car ahead placed an incredibly large order or what. I will say that the driver and passenger as seen from the drive thru window while I was paying were acting extremely nonchalant... chatting, laughing, on their phones...didn't bother pulling forward an inch to help me get around them.. regardless, I'm quite disappointed and won't be pulling into this coffee shop before work again. 2 stars for great coffee... read more

One of my favorite coffee spots! The service is always great whenever I come here and I love how they recognize regular customers. I always see the same two girls working and they're friendly and sweet. The drinks are always good, way better than Starbucks! I haven't tried all the drinks and I always get them blended but all the ones I have tried were good. My favorite so far is probably the toffee crunch, yum. You have to go inside to see the whole menu but if you know what you want the drive-thru is convenient and you can get some free lollipops or doggy treats! Really cozy inside. A great place to study or meet up with people. I would recommend this place if you're looking for a new coffee spot. read more

The coffee is premium that's for sure! Tired if Starbucks! Give Cutter's Point a try. They have many flavors for latte's and my drink is always made to perfection. The staff is very friendly. The prices are a bit high is my only reason for 4 stars. But I am still a regular and I don't mind paying for quality! read more

I had a great Reese's PB mocha with soy and did a lot of studying. It was a dessert coffee and I loved it. Lots of sugar and coffee motivation to work on my boring studies. Such a nice staff too. It was nice to go to a coffee shop that actually has decent sized tables to spread out and study! read more
