I had a color correction done this week by Jackie to fix a botched ombre done at a "nice" salon in Prescott. My hair was dyed the first time on Friday and Jackie was nice enough to come in at 8:30am on a Monday so that I could have it fixed right away. She was even willing to accommodate me over the weekend but I was out of town. Jackie was super sweet and laid-back, and she also really listened to me as I was telling her why I didn't like the previous dye job. She described to me how she was going to fix it and showed me the colors she was going to put in before she started to make sure it was what I wanted. I was really nervous about getting my hair redone since I was so disappointed the first time but Jackie made me feel really comfortable. On top of that, the ombre turned out looking GREAT and exactly the way I wanted. And it was extremely reasonably priced, especially for a color correction. Jen is awesome!! My brother lived in Prescott for about 10 years and had Jen cut his hair. Now my parents have retired and moved to Prescott and Jen cuts my mom's hair!! My family drove out from California for a visit and I desperately needed my hair cut. Thankfully Jen was able to squeeze me into her schedule. I gave her a description of what I liked and she went above and beyond what I was looking for. She even wrote down what she did so I would know what to tell a hair stylist in California! So sweet! I love that she showed me how to style my hair, and then even let me give it a try with the hair straightener. Learned a few new things!! Now I know have to re-create that style! I was so unimpressed after reading all these great reviews! The building is so run down and sketchy looking that I had to drive by twice to make sure I was in the right place. Inside wasn't any better, it's almost like they're going for the industrial deconstructed look but I think actually they just don't care to decorate. It was worse than a mall salon. Additionally, while the color I got came out decent, the final product was rough. She didn't use any product when blow drying my hair and it came out looking puffy and unfinished. If i'm paying for a blow dry and style at least run a flat iron through it and don't send me out looking like a poodle. To be fair, I am used to much more upscale salons and only went here because I was in a pinch. I've definitely learned my lesson and will travel to Phoenix and pay the money for a good experience rather than return to this salon. read more

I came here bc of the amazing reviews online. Way to screw me over BIG time yelp! Got my hair done by Jackie. NOT the best hair style for what she's charging, I'd consider it student quality, quite strange and unfortunate really... Wanted an ombre. Didn't happen. Tried for balayage, nope. She simply toned half my hair and called it a more balayage. Not to mention stained my skin with the hair dye bad... Making it embarrassingly obvious I tried to get my hair colored/done. I wore a beanie to conceal the stains. Eventually, I went to a salon my co worker recommended and the stylist took before and after pictures...I was mortified to see how bad I had been done! I can't speak on the other stylist but I gave this soon to be owner of the salon THREE chances! (A trial style, then actual style, and 2 back to back dyes same day after she jacked up the first attempt... The co workers enable either bc they would come over and say how pretty it was when the first time NOTHING had changed. She said my hair didn't 'take'. Ive never written a review before but I feel like I gave enough opportunity for redemption and it never happened. My parents recently moved to Prescott from the Valley and I was visiting for an extended weekend. I desperately needed my hair updated with highlights from regrowth. I asked my mom to find me a good/decent priced place that would be able to fit me in. She found Cutters Four and by the reviews it was looking forward to my visit. Jackie was my stylist and she was very friendly. I'm the type of person that doesn't like to complain or cause any issues. She did low light and highlights as I had asked (because I don't want the full platinum white blonde) except did not get all my regrowth covered. I know when you do highlights you skip every other "panel", but i needed my roots gone so I thought she would lighten those too. I live in California and my usual stylist who knows what to do with my hair has been unreachable. I noticed during the visit while i was waiting for the highlight to process, that my scalp/roots never itched like they usually do, and it was super fast processing under the dryer. Usually for me it takes a while to lighten up. She then washed my hair in the sink but never got to the part of my lower neck that rests on the ceramic, there was still product and preciously "dirty" hair all gunked up. When she was cutting and blowdrying it didnt seem as light as I wanted but I thought, maybe ill notice it when I finish drying (which she didnt finish drying, it was half done) and style myself at home. Once I got home, im usually really satisfied and happy with updated hair.... i was totally bummed. When my hair is parted, I can still see the line of regrowth, and if i put my hair up, the highlights didnt reach my roots so you can see where they stop and all my natural roots are still there. It literally looks like nothing was done. I had plans with my parents so I wasnt able to call until later in the day. When I called to see if she could see me again, I got the voicemail and I left a message explaining and was very nice about it. Unfortunately they were closed Sunday and Monday and I didnt get a call back from Jackie until Tuesday afternoon, when it was too late and my plane flight was in an hour. She apologized and I asked if I could at least receive a partial refund so I can get it fixed back home in California. She said she would do the refund and call me back to let me know it went through. I never got a call back from her, and a refund has not been processed. I believe I had her personal number from which she called me from to make my original reservation. I texted her explaining who I was and asking for an update on the refund. Again, I still have not gotten any response. My mom took Jackie's card because she has been looking for a new stylist in the area but with my experience she most likely wont be going there again. We even tried going to the salon to talk to anyone there but it was closed. read more

Worse experience here ever. Got my hair done by Cheryl, super nice lady, but she butchered my hair. Had to pay more money to have someone else fix it. She didn't let the dye sit for long enough and the very next day, without washing or putting my hair in the sun, my color had faded like crazy. I went home crying because of how awful they let me walk out of the salon looking. No product or anything was put in my hair after it was done and no brush was used when blow drying my hair, only her fingers which kept ripping my hair out. After my shampoo and condition, my shirt was soaking wet and she had scratched my scalp with how aggressively she washed my hair. I hate to talk so negatively, however, I spent $70 at this place and was totally dissatisfied and had to pay $80 somewhere else to get it fixed. 10/10 would not recommend. read more

I just got back from having my long hair layered and styled by Jen. I cannot overemphasize what a great experience this was. Cutters Four is neat and clean and very welcoming. Everyone is happy and friendly. I knew when I saw Jen's previous client's hair that I was in for a treat. Jen actively listened to me describe what I wanted and gave me some terrific ideas for styling. She then proceeded to give me one of the *best* haircuts I have ever had. Her fees are incredibly reasonable for the quality of her work (I would have happily paid half again as much) and she is just a delightful person to be around. I went in to have my hair cut and colored with Lisa. I brought in a wig to show her the exact color and style I wanted. I explained that my hair had been damaged by extensions and told her I realized I did not have the volume of hair the wig had, but the style of the wig would work until my hair grew back in. My hair was shoulder length and pretty thin when I walked in. The wig was shorter in the back and angled long toward the front, like Kate Beckham's old style. I told her I wanted her to use the wig for reference. She did a good job on the color, but she gave me the worst haircut I have ever had in my life. When I walked out of the salon my bangs stuck straight out, the sides were stringy and choppy, the back was choppy too. It was just awful. I cannot believe what she did to my hair! As she was cutting it, I asked her several times if she wanted me to pull the wig out again for her to see how it was cut, because it just did not look like she was cutting it right. Each time she said, "No, I know what the wig looks like." Obviously she had no clue. Not until she was styling it with a roller brush (the wig was straight), and I said I looked like a librarian, did she agree to take another look at the wig I brought in. By then it was too late, she had already cut the sides too short and layered places that were supposed to be long. Then she used a flat iron on it. When she was done, there was absolutely no style to it, my hair (what was left of it), stuck straight out all around my head. I could not go home and let my fiancé see my hair like that, I had to go somewhere else that same day to have them try and do something with it. The stylist I went to said she had seen some bad hair cuts, but mine was one of the worst she had seen. It was so butched and choppy, she had to cut my hair extremely short just to get some style to it. Lisa knew I was not happy. I was in such shock at the time, I should have refused to pay. One of her coworkers even came over and offered me a styling product to try and "funk it up a little" which was I believe her way of saying, 'to make it look somewhat presentable.' Not even that worked. It was so bad!!! I cannot even express in this review how bad it was!!! If the stylists present during my appointment did not realize what a total butch job I received I would be totally amazed. Lisa does not have a clue on how to cut hair!!!!
