I was sitting in her chair the next week. Her attitude is infectious. Beautiful in and out. Her hair studio is inviting and calming. Many stylists are going that route. Can't wait to see her again.

The holy grail of hair stylists! Found Laura and the Alchemist Studio online after extensive…read moreresearch for a new salon to repair a bad dye job (let's just say it was orange). One of the first thing I noted about Laura was her extensive body of knowledge about the chemistry behind the hair color itself -- she truly lives up to her Alchemist name! Laura was patient and took a great deal of time during my color correction consultation to explain to me my options. She was determined yet realistic, which I appreciated. During our appointment she applied multiple processes to adjust my hair color and lift out the brassiness. She was polite and friendly without bombarding me with fake conversation like so many stylists do. My appointment took well over 4 hours but was totally worth it. Considering how long the service took the cost was definitely reasonable. She wasn't pushy about product, but offered me several free samples. Her products are all natural and organic, which I appreciate. Scheduling is easy via her online scheduler. Will definitely return!

Apparently,l she was just squeezing me in between her other, customer (a hair color procedure}although, my appointment was made several months ago. The time she spent with me was 15 minutes. She did not ask me how much I wanted trimmed etc. I had to stop her and tell her how much I wanted trimmed. She was clearly rushing me through the service. I was very clear on how I wanted my hair cut; I have shoulder length hair and wanted a precision cut, slightly longer just in front of the ear. What I got was about the worst hair cut I have ever had. Some areas were, one inch longer on the top layer. I called and she had me come back only to trim a very small area on the left side of my head. On her business card Ms. Shpiro calls herself a, " Master Designer." I question, how she got that designation. When I attempted to explain what I wanted done to my hair, she turned her back on me and said, " she had been cutting hair for 50 years, and knew how to do it. She also told me, "I guarantee my work." I was not about to have her wack on my hair a third time therefore, I found another hairdresser that took her time and did exactly what I asked her to do. Ms Shapiro, refused to give me a refund. So much for her guarantee. In less than a weeks time, I paid her $45.00 and my new stylist $60.00 total $105.00. I do not recommend Ms. Shapiro to anyone.
