One of the first thing I noted about Laura was her extensive body of knowledge about the chemistry behind the hair color itself -- she truly lives up to her Alchemist name! Laura was patient and took a great deal of time during my color correction consultation to explain to me my options. She was determined yet realistic, which I appreciated. During our appointment she applied multiple processes to adjust my hair color and lift out the brassiness. She was polite and friendly without bombarding me with fake conversation like so many stylists do. My appointment took well over 4 hours but was totally worth it. Considering how long the service took the cost was definitely reasonable. She wasn't pushy about product, but offered me several free samples. Her products are all natural and organic, which I appreciate. Scheduling is easy via her online scheduler. Will definitely return!

After a moment, I decided to cancel that appointment and said that I was outside for 20 minutes and if someone had called or texted, I could have walked right in. She, in her distant, saccharine soaked voice said, I'm busy - good luck finding another salon. I did find another salon - one who assured me that if a client is running late they call or text to see if they are on the way, ESPECIALLY first time appointments, like mine, in case they are having trouble finding the salon. It took my new stylist 20-25 minutes for a wash and a beautiful bouncy trim. I left it air dry into beach waves today. I have an appointment next week for a color session to help me grow into my grey in a blended way and will get the works. Having a home in San Diego and one here, I was disappointed when my regular stylist moved away from the area. I am glad I found a great stylist and will be very motivated to keep her happy as well, via my tipping. As the parent of a daughter in the industry, in San Diego, I have learned from her that a 20% tip for a stylist compared to 20% for a meal at a restaurant is not equal. A stylist spends a LOT of time on you herself. I agree and tip based on time which is higher than the expected standard. I wish JESSICA luck, knowing it will take her 3 clients at least to equal one of my tips.
