Every time I move to a new stylist it takes many visits for them to get the color right. Red is tough and many cannot color red heads well. Not with Tara. After a bad bleach dye job, My hair was breaking off. I called Tara. She spent 15 minutes trouble shooting a solution to maintain the blonde in my hair while keeping it from breaking. Tara is a specialist with color. At my first appointment, she spent a great deal of time learning about what I like and then applied my color. The color was rich and vibrant and my hair was shiny and smooth. I recently had highlights as well and they look very natural. She is gentle and considerate in everything she does. She works alone which makes it a very zen vibe without all the noise typical of a large salon. She has snacks and drinks for clients which is very generous of her. I went in for highlights and left looking like a light bulb because Tara bleached a large percentage of my hair which is not what I went in for. Even after she ran the toner through my hair, it remained white. She did my hair in the evening under poor lighting and sent me home that way and the end of the night. She asked me to come back in a week so that she could run another toner through my hair. Needless to say, I had to wear a cap for a week to hide my hair. My hair is as dry as straw and the damage is irreversible which is probably the reason she never returned my call when I asked for a new appointment the next week. Unfortunately I had to cut about 8" of hairwhich I had been growing for years, and was several inches past my shoulders. Although it tangles less because it's short, it continues to break every time I use a blow dryer, which is why I felt the need to post this review on Yelp. because if you're like me, you count on honest reviews. I was charged $100/hour for the 4-hour. Big city prices for small town results. This is the worst "salon" experience I have ever had in my life. read more

Tara has been doing my hair for about four years. I started seeing her when she worked in a popular salon here in Prescott, followed her when she opened her first studio and then to her newest. I'd follow her anywhere! She's the best stylist I've ever had. She's an amazing colorist and cutter. Tara is also a great communicator and collaborator...she listens to your wants and needs, likes and dislikes, and is straight up with you about the reality of what your hair will or won't do. She would never let you leave the studio unless you were completely happy and comfortable. It's great having a stylist who sees only one client at a time...you've always got her full attention. She got back to me very quickly and with a time not too far out on the calendar. Her studio space is wonderfully cozy and comfortable.
