*** Owner of this Dealership, PLEASE READ ****…read more
In my lifetime, I have bought and sold approximately 50 vehicles, and I have NEVER been treated with such disrespect by a General Sales Manager. I sincerely hope the owner of Young Automotive Group reads this review and investigates what happened.
I visited Young Volkswagen looking for a commuter car for my wife with a firm budget of $20,000 out the door. My salesman, Luis, was friendly, and I explained our budget from the beginning. Unfortunately, the vehicle I came to see had already been sold three days earlier, but the website had not been updated. Luis then showed me another vehicle at their GMC dealership that was under $20,000, so I drove over there, only to discover that vehicle had also been sold.
Why are vehicles being advertised online when they are no longer available? Driving customers between dealerships to look at cars that have already been sold is a waste of everyone's time.
Eventually, we found a Nissan at their Nissan dealership that interested us. After negotiating with the sales manager, Luis told me the best they could do was $20,500 out the door with free window tint. I respectfully declined because our budget was $20,000, period.
Approximately three hours later, Jared, the General Sales Manager, called me personally and asked what he could do to earn my business. I explained our situation and reiterated our firm $20,000 budget. Jared specifically offered $20,000 out the door with the window tint included. I confirmed that was the deal, and he told me to come back. I said I would arrive between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m.
I returned in good faith, believing we had an agreement. Luis showed me the car, we completed the credit application, and he took the information to Jared. When he returned, the price had suddenly jumped to over $21,000.
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE DEAL JARED PERSONALLY PROMISED ME?
I explained that we had agreed to $20,000 out the door and that we were putting $1,000 down. Instead of resolving the situation professionally, Jared took me into his office and began yelling at me.
Let me be absolutely clear: I remained calm and professional throughout this entire interaction. I simply explained that this was not the deal he had offered me and that, if they could not honor it, I would gladly take my business elsewhere. I was not there to argue.
Jared began insulting me and throwing different numbers around, making the situation unnecessarily confusing. I repeatedly told him that if they could not honor the agreed-upon price, I would leave. That should have been the end of it.
I then requested the return of my information, including my wife's driver's license and insurance card. I should never have had to argue to get our personal documents back. After finally getting them, Jared continued yelling at me as I left the sales office.
Jared, this is not how you treat customers. Period!
This behavior is completely unacceptable for a General Sales Manager. I understand negotiations do not always work out. If Jared had simply told me respectfully that he could not honor the offer, I would have left without an argument. Instead, I was subjected to hostility and disrespect when I was simply trying to purchase a vehicle.
To the owner of Young Automotive Group: Please investigate this incident. I specifically request that you review the security camera footage from the sales office during the evening of my visit. If audio is available, review that as well. I stand by my account of what happened and believe this incident deserves your attention.
This is no longer about the price of a car. It is about honesty, professionalism, and basic respect for customers.
I would not purchase a vehicle from this dealership even if they offered it to me for free. I will NEVER do business with Young Volkswagen or any other Young dealership again, and I will share this experience with anyone who asks.
You can have great inventory and competitive prices, but none of that matters when your General Sales Manager treats customers this way.
One star is more than this experience deserves.
