So much so that I'm willing to drive an hour from Salt Lake just to buy a car from here rather than any other dealerships in Salt Lake City. Both times Jared has made the process of buying a car simple and painless. He gets all of our information ahead of time and we are usually in and out with a new car in an hour or so. I've never experienced that before EVER at another dealership. It's always at least a day long ordeal and so many hoops to jump through to get approved. We always get a great deal and something that works with our budget. Jared even helped us get approved for a car right after a bankruptcy. I would highly recommend Smart Buy Auto to anyone and everyone!! I love my new car!! Check them out, you won't regret it

Amazing dealership, if you can really call it a true dealership. I recently sold my daily driver…read moreand was in the market for a car. I was searching all day and looking at different lots, but they either didn't have what I wanted, were too pushy, or flat out wasted my time. I found them as I was traveling north up the valley and pretty much was going to give up after them if I didn't find the car I was looking for. I searched their up-to-date website that had honest pricing and no shady "call for price". I found a car I was interested in and headed there. I went in and was greeted and shown the car. I looked it over and really loved the personal touches they put on each vehicle they had (mine had a new set of rims and tires that fit perfectly with the vehicle). After test driving, rather than rush for the sale, Nate really asked questions to get to know me and explained Black Rock and their philosophy about how you should leave with a car that makes others wonder where you went, instead of a car that everyone and their mother-in-law drives (my paraphrase not his exact words). This is a small business I was glad I stumbled upon, and even happier I was able to patronize. I didn't read any of the reviews before I went in, but I wasn't surprised when I saw all the 5-stars on them. Thank you again for my Jeep, and I already have had a few people asked where I went and how did I get it at the great price I did. I definitely shared your website and will continue to do so.

I gave this dealership multiple chances over a 4 to 5 year period and used them as my exclusive…read moreservice provider, but over time a clear pattern of issues made it difficult to continue trusting their work. On my two most recent oil changes, my check engine light came on within 2 to 3 days afterward for emissions-related issues. The vehicle had never had a check engine light before these visits. Since I stopped taking it here, the issue has not returned, which was a major relief. After a 100,000-mile service that included a valve adjustment, I developed an oil leak from the valve cover area. Prior to that service, the vehicle had never had any oil leaks. It was frustrating to go from a properly sealed engine to dealing with a new leak immediately after a major service. There was also an issue with the serpentine belt. It was replaced during that same 100,000-mile service. Only a few months later, when my wife brought the car in for a routine visit, she was told the belt needed to be replaced again due to age and mileage, and it was replaced a second time. This was especially frustrating because it had already been recently replaced. When I followed up, the duplicate charge was converted into a service credit, but actually using it became an ongoing issue. Each visit brought a different explanation for why it could not be applied. Eventually, I was told the credit was lost due to a system change, which effectively meant I paid for the service twice without resolution. On multiple visits, the engine oil was overfilled even after specifically requesting that it not be. This happened enough times that I started checking it myself before leaving and had to ask them to correct it on the spot. Brake service was another disappointing experience. I was charged $125 for a single rotor (not including labor), which I later found selling for $25 at Walmart. The repair did not resolve the issue I was having. I ended up redoing the work myself and purchased two Brembo rotors for the rear for $120 total, which was less than what I paid here for a single rotor. While correcting it myself, I discovered that basic steps like lubrication and hardware replacement had not been done, which explained why the issue persisted until I fixed it. I was also quoted around $1,500 per axle for shock replacement using aftermarket parts, which felt significantly out of line with typical pricing, especially given the parts used were not OEM. I understand dealership service is typically more expensive, but I still expected accurate recommendations, proper workmanship, and appropriate parts for the cost. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. After multiple attempts to resolve issues directly with the service department, I did not receive meaningful resolution.

Located on Wall Avenue. I went to the service department for that is where I felt my 25 year old car would get the proper service being as old as it is. After a day of being diagnosed, I was called by my advisor and told that the car needed a new fuel pump and filter. He then said that GM no longer supported my car with the parts. Then he proceeded to tell me that it was available from a aftermarket vendor. I told him to go for it, he told me that it would take a couple of days before they were going to have the parts. I informed him I didn't care how long it was going to take because I do not use it on a daily basis. Like Mike said, the part arrived on time and they then put it in my car. I personally could not be happier with the way things went! The car was returned, I left the dealership with the thought that if it was going to need any future repairs that I would definitely be taking it back for service @ John Watson Chevy for assistance do to the age it is! I will give the service department and all of the advisors, mechanics, even the shuttle crew member high 5's for the way that they handle the situation from beginning to end!! Thanks for listening.

Got to my 1130 appointment and at 1 pm they said it was done and the receipt showed 7 quarts of oil was changed but this model has 10 quarts total. That's a clear sign that they only drained the main drain plug and there was still 3 qts of old oil in it. I showed them and after some convincing and showing them my old receipt from when I came last time they took my car back and assured me they'd do both drain plugs and put 10 new qts of oil in. I appreciate them fixing the mistake but it does make me a little worried to come back here if their techs don't even know how to do proper oil changes on different models of their own brand of cars. Also makes me wonder if they really drained all the old oil out or just did a quick fix or something. Everyone was nice and apologetic so I guess I don't have much to complain about. Next time when I come in I'll make sure to explain to them my previous issues and hope for the best.
