Tech did a great job for my regular pedicure. My nail cuticles were left so smooth and toe nails very clean & pretty. I just wish the leg massage would've been stronger, like I saw my mother-in-law receive from the other more experienced, older tech. Still, can't complain as service received was more than adequate. Arrived around 10:30 AM on a Saturday and there was only one other customer there. It was so so so nice to feel like we had the quiet salon all to ourselves. By 11:20 AM, many more customers started walking in, so it's certainly worth it to come right at opening on weekends if you order a quieter service! read more

The salon was very clean and decorated nicely. It was Tuesday afternoon, but the it was quite busy. I lucked out and they were able to take a walk-in almost immediately. I was offered a menu of various pedicures and chose the basic. My guy did a great job. He was very gentle with my ingrown toenails. I like that he didn't put the polish on too thick. He scrubbed my feet, and gave a nice massage of my lower legs and feet. I will return! read more

Sadly disappointed. Never asked what kind of pedicure I wanted but the girl was just learning - or so it seemed since she had two others help her on parts of my pedicure. She was sweet and wanted to please but at the end, my heels were very rough and it's one of the reasons I needed a pedicure. When I mentioned it - I was told that I just got the basic - and I said no one asked me what type I wanted and she then said they were short staffed so I got what they could do. No consideration given for poor experience - was there over an hour and a half. Paid more for a pedicure than I've ever paid for the same service. I scheduled a gel pedicure and dip manicure. The technician I had was very slow and I was surprised that only one technician was working on my services until it was apparent that she was having trouble finishing my services before closure. I had to move from the chair where the pedicure was done to the nail table. Most places I have been usually let you stay in the lounge chair. The technician occasionally was careless with the filing. There were a few times when the drill slipped and got my skin. Ouch! Also, the nail technician wrapped my legs with one towel that was super hot. I had to ask her to re-wrap the towel and wait for it to cool as I got a temporary red welt. I'm not sure the technician spoke any English as she didn't apologize for any of the issues. Usually, a technician will ask if the towels are a good temperature or apologize for a slip on the skin. The technician took 2 hours to do the manicure and pedicure and had to have another technician help out with my services. The technician did do a great massage and my nails looked good after it was all done. However, some areas of my nails are rough.. the technician did not file the underside of the nail like most places do. I'm not sure what was going on with the technician.. if she was new, overwhelmed or just slow and then was rushing at the end. There was only one other client in the salon during my entire stay. I just will not be returning as it was not a good experience. Update: the manager did contact me the next day and offered a voucher for a free service and apologized for the issues. She was very kind and apologetic but I decided not to take up the offer. read more

I've never written a review on any type of business but I am for this one. I've been to a lot of nail salons in my life, but this has been the worst. My nail technician was rude and did not inform me of any up charges. I walked out paying $100 for something that should've only costed $70. I also picked a color that they were out of and instead of letting me pick a new one they just chose one for me. I was charged for a manicure without receiving a full manicure service. He would move my fingers/hand/arm and then get frustrated for me moving my hand the way he asked. He would get frustrated with me for sitting up straight instead of slouching, not to mention my skin is all cut up from the filing, and I have hangnails still on my fingers.... What can I say? I needed a pedicure while I was in Bluffton, SC. I have been to two other salons and neither one of them impressed me. There is little that can be done to make a salon stand out and maintain my loyalty... Cuticles did not stand out... $45.00 + tip, gets you some floating petals (maybe 6 petals, not like its advertised on the menu, a bowl full of petals). Some scrub, callous remover (which they offer on all pedicures) ... But let me start over, the place is clean. I was with my daughter, no appointment. As usual they instruct us to pick color from the carousel of polishes. We waited about 10 minutes. Chairs offer a variety of massage options. The technician started to work on my daughter first. He did not offer her a menu... assuming she was getting the basic pedi $30.00. My technician offered me the menu and I chose the $45.00 pedi for both of us. So he runs to get the 5 petals to throw into her foot bath. Look, I'm not that fussy. I guess I'm just frustrated and wondering what I paid $15 extra for??? Hey I love indulging once in a while for a nicer pedicure but I want to feel like I'm really getting something worthwhile for the extra money. There are so many salons around... I guess I'll have to keep looking... it's wasn't terrible, but they didn't do anything to make me want to go back... I guess that's what these salons need to figure out. Went in for the first time to get a mani/pedi and was immediately pushed to try the dipped nails instead of the gel. I decided to give it a try and wish I didn't. The women who did my pedicure was amazing, which is the only reason I'm giving them two starts instead of one. When I got moved to a different man to do my nails, it was evident that he couldn't care less. My nails were done extremely messy and he didn't clean anything up. My mom and I were in last week for manicures. We were both repeatedly encouraged to do a dipped manicure instead of a regular one or a gel one. We were told how great it is for our nails and so much safer. It wasn't until later when I started doing research and found out that nail techs were not supposed to actually dip nails as it's not sanitary to dip multiple people's nails in the same pot. Also, it's basically acrylic "light" and still just as damaging when removed. I specifically told them I did not want acrylic and they never mentioned that to me. It was my own fault that I caved and went with the dipped manicure instead of what I originally came in for. I'm not sure why they pushed the dip so much, they encouraged every person that came in or called while we were there to do this dip manicure, but I would never recommend it. read more

I watched multiple women get taken back that had walked in after me, and after other girls who had been waiting before me. They took over for a previous owner, who was not doing a great job. The new place is WONDERFUL, thanks to the new management. They are professional and creative. i paid $180 for a deluxe pedicure with gel and french tips with gel. one of the techs, burned me with a hot stone that was way too hot, ( she took $5 off) my toes lasted 2 days before chipping. i got my nails done for a trip, and by the third day of having them i'd lost 2 nails, and the rest were gone within a week. i called back and they simply offered to redo it. i didn't pay that much to need to redone and i was extremely upset with the service. i highly suggest looking at other salons read more

Really should have listened to the negative reviews, but Cuticles came recommended by other locals, so I gave it a shot. I opted to try the powder manicure, and was incredibly disappointed. Not only did I leave with my finger skin glued to the under sides of my nails, but my nails themselves are ruined under the polish - they dremeled the surface of my nails so much that there are permanent lines, there is a semi circle indent in the nail around my cuticle from where they dug in with the dremel, and my actual nails are peeling. I'm sure some of the technicians are great, but I will not take the risk to return. read more

I picked a dip nail color but wasn't sure about if I liked it so the very sweet nail tech offered to try it on a finger for me. I am so impressed with how my nails look as well. They are smooth, no excess on the skin, and not thick like many other salons tend to leave them. The prices are great as well. They checked us in and started 2 of my friends pedicures while 2 others sat and waited for their appoinment. As we proceded to wait, the workers gladly seated and begin working on multiple other people's nails who did not even have appointments. I bit my nails as a child and early adult years. I could never grow my nails and went for several different methods to many different nail salons. About three years ago I went to Cuticles and suggested to use the dipping gel. I did and my own nails have grown beautifully, the dipping gel lasts up to three weeks and I have never been happier. I have never had any issue with the glue. The techs are all excellent and they aim to please, patient and very kind.The Salon has water and small snacks and is beautifully decorated and immaculate. I have sent many of my local friends there and everyone is as pleased as I am. Do not understand why they got a couple of negative reviews. I have only raves for Cuticles and am so pleased how Helen does my nails. I have used other techs there when Helen is not available and they were all excellent. Also, for dipping gel I don't think you can find a better price anywhere. My only wish is that they moved onto the island! read more

Most places around here are 50-55$ if you get both at the same time. they charged me 75$ for a mediocre mani and a terrible shellac mani with horrible customer service. I've been to Cuticles twice now to have my acrylic nails removed and switched over to powder dipping. Both Vince and Ann made sure my nails were strong enough to handle the transition (I had issues at other salons where they didn't dip my nails enough for strength). My nails lasted 3 weeks each time. I've also had pedicures at Cuticles and loved them. The salon is clean and I get serviced very quickly. You can get a discount if you pay cash or if you're over 55. Nice, quality service. I always see Ann (even though they are all wonderful) and she is so friendly. She always ask me how my family is doing and how work is.
