Read my other CS Burnet review for where these issues originated but this location is possibly even more inept. In July I got four new speakers put in on my '17 Subaru Impreza. It's not a crazy complicated car.  The right passenger speaker sounded awful, like it had been installed against the metal, but the rest were fine. I planned to take it back in, but after a trip a few days later, I noticed **neither of the passenger side doors had their lock cables attached**, which meant no one could open their doors from the inside. It could have killed someone if we'd been in an accident. I took it to the Fiesta location which is closer, told them both doors weren't attached. When I picked it up I noticed later they'd only done the back door, despite me explicitly saying multiple times and watching Geo write down that it was both doors. I had to take it back AGAIN to get it fixed. Later, after a 12 hour trip where we could barely listen to any music because the PS speaker was so bad, I took it in again and they said it was grounding out on the wires against the metal of the door. They installed some sound dampeners and said it was fixed, even though none of the other speakers needed it. It still didn't sound great, but it was better than it was. Then, to my ABSOLUTE MIND-BLOWING SURPRISE, when my passenger tried to get out a few days later, I found out they hadn't attached the handle AGAIN after they'd put in the dampeners. I brought it back and when it was ready for pick up Geo walked around testing the doors from the outside to show it was all fine. I leaned over and tested just the passenger door from the inside- the one I had told them was broken- and would you possibly believe it? It STILL HADN'T BEEN FIXED. He said repeatedly that he thought it was the back doors, which I had told him in person and on the phone that it was the door on the front passenger speaker that they had JUST worked on a few days ago. His installer came out and said he hadn't properly put it in the clip. For what, the fourth time?? Afterwards I asked Geo if they could refund some ($150) of the original $580 I'd spent on these four speakers because I'd spent dozens on Ubers and hours of time off work over the course of four months driving back and forth to pick up and drop off this car due to their incompetence. He told me and he'd have to talk to his boss to see if they'd "change all the rules for me to get a refund "because I'd had a "little problem" with them when they'd never done that for anyone else before. Are you serious? He also kept saying "Michael Dell brings all of this cars there", like that absolves them of the deficiencies that I've had to deal with every time I bring mine in. If Michael Dell brings his cars to one of the cheapest, worst rated audio shop in town then he's an idiot. Geo got ruder and ruder as I kept trying to explain how frustrating this situation was without accepting any responsibility for the waste of money and time this has caused and said that it seems like I was just there to start an argument. No dude, I just wanted my speakers replaced and to never, ever come here again. At this point, I've probably been back and forth to custom sounds ten times to have them fix issues that NEVER should have happened in the first place but at least should have been fixed ONCE by any member of this store using any reading comprehension or intelligence at all. Before I left Geo said they were the "top store in Austin" which blows my mind cause not a single one of the times I've been here have I experienced a single, minuscule shred of competency. A month after I left from the last door lock fix/sound dampener/whatever they did to this car, the speaker on that side now sounds ***even worse*** and ground out than it ever did during any of this fiasco. I'm going to have to find and pay another shop to fix it cause I'll be damned if I ever go back to this store. Avoid at all costs unless you're "Michael Dell". read more

Plus the best customer services I have ever experienced. when my employees do the installs they can get direct help if we are having any issues. I unfortunately met Geo under the circumstances of having an ignition interlock being put in my car. The best thing to come out of it was meeting Geo. He is a fantastic gentleman and I could not praise him enough. He remembered me immediately and for every monthly visit for the past year and a half I have had the pleasure of interacting with him. His customer service is fantastic and he is very personable. He really helped make a bad experience a positive one. If you have to get this done, I would highly suggest this store be the one you visit. He was so supportive and kind. I've I've over heard conversations with other guests while in the store and he treats everyone the same. Like family really. It's so nice to see kind people in the world that are there to help and with a heart of gold. Go visit Geo and let him put a smile on your face too! read more

I'd give zero stars if I could!! So I went to custom sounds thinking this is the top dog of spots! boy was I wrong! Unfortunately there was nothing custom about custom sounds. I wish that was under their banner! First of many mistakes, They "Forgot to hook up the amp" that i already had mounted up myself to save on labor, they never set up my FM/AM Radio n antenna, they were suppose to build 2 custom boxes for my 81 chevy custom truck but instead they just screwed the upgraded speakers i bought from them with a bracket into the wall... no box still... Bare speaker to a corner of the cab with nothing to protect it or keep it from shake when loud. Exposed wires like someone just tried to steel them! And since the speakers were just bracketed to the corner of the cab/behind the seat, it sounded horribe! everything rattled! My pickup date was also extended 3 extra days bc they just wanted to make the sell and get my car there when they originally told me 1 day. FYI "Custom Sounds" If you can't finish a job, don't take an appointment!!!! When I came to pick it up the stereo was not tuned or setup so it sounded horrible. It was just hooked up and meant to be set up by the customer instead of them the "professionals" I'm never one to complain, a matter of fact, i have the type of personality where i rather be taken advantage of instead of making a scene or saying something but this was bottom level service and i was taken advantage of completely. when i finally pleaded with the. manager to fix everything they did wrong, all he wanted to do was to pay for my uber so we can get my truck back in there to fix all the problems that he wanted to charge me for and add to my balance! That manager is a fucking criminal and should be prosecuted! Instead of going back and spending another $1000. i went to a competitor's audio service and they fixed all the issues practically free with a promise to go to them the next time i need a car hooked up with sound. This place is a joke! I wish I could shut them down. I asked for a refund and the manager refused and told me to take it up with a lawyer. People like him desire nothing good in life. He took advantage of me like I'm sure many other people! I'm opening up a case currently! Best of all, I was asked to give him cash under the table to fix the problems that I originally paid lots for!! Fuck you custom sounds! Fire your manger!!! read more

I would suggest looking somewhere else. Not because of the poor quality of work, but due to the fact they run this shop very poorly. The manager wasn't there one of the days, which left the tech running the front- thus doing 2 jobs at once. Come to find out they were turning away business because the tech wasn't trained on the cash register. Hard to get them on the phone. Hard working technicians. Very poorly run store. These guys are great! I purchased a new civic and wanted to install a subwoofer using the factory radio. Austin greeted me as soon as we came in and answered all the questions I had (I'm very anal) Austin is VERY experienced and knowledgeable. They didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. They even went out of their way to install in my sub in a special way so I can easily remove it from my car if needed. All the work was clean and neat. I bought a car stereo and backup camera for my daughters car for Christmas. The purchase was in mid November. At that time we set up installation for December 26th. The day after Christmas my daughter and I drove 25 minutes to the shop in two cars as we would have to leave her car for a few hours. When we arrived we were informed that they never ordered the parts. The manager would not take responsibility and blamed the young man we had worked with originally. The managers attitude was "oh well. It's not my fault. We will have the missing part next week. This was a Christmas present and now my daughter has to wait another week. I then went to Pro Audio and had a better system put in immediately for the same price. Custom Sounds has no concept of customer service. I would highly suggest Pro Audio on Lamar... Not this place. I'm giving one star because there is no option for no stars. read more

I came in to get my speaker doors replaced because my driver's side door was dead. They didn't even bother to check what kind I had after I told them what make it was (Honda Civic 2006). They sold me on component speakers when I had coaxial so they had to run extra wire and didn't know. My 2 hour install turned into 4 hours because of this. After 4 hours I got in the car to hear my new speakers with the manager and my drivers side door was still out. They "fixed" it and I went home. I went to drive my car the next day and it's dead. I get a jump and go to a friends house for 2 hours and its dead again. They clearly fucked up and there's no number for me to call and they don't open again for another 2 days. I will absolutely be disputing this on my credit card moving forward if there's no resolution on their part. read more

No returns, ridiculous. And they dont mention it at all...in fact the first mention of it was on a sheet stapled to my CC receipt after i had paid! After an hour on the phone/on hold with the regional manager they took back an unopened item with a 15% restocking fee. These are the same guys i paid thousands to do work in the past. I came in about a week ago looking to get my windows tinted on my car. I have no knowledge whatsoever about anything of this sort, but Austin took time to explain all the differences in the films. After putting a few different films under the UV light simulator I could definitely tell a difference in heat rejection so I went with the Llumar film. I highly recommend investing in this film, it's a night and day difference as far as heat rejection goes when I'm in my car. Austin and his crew got me in and out within a few hours, I'm definitely happy with the results! read more

I had a 10am appointment today and I had scheduled it two days ago and the person on the phone from the business couldn't schedule it for Thursday because there were no technician at the shop that day for it was there day off. Friday rolls around and I got there on the dot @ 10 am and the store was closed. Nobody to be found. I waited for 15 minutes to see if they were running late and just left them a phone message to notify them that I made my appointment and they were not to be found. There opening hours began 10am. At the point of writing this review, they have not returned my phone call. Oldest electronic shop in Austin is how the rep on the phone had explained to me well they fail miserably in the customer relations department. I took out some time out of my work schedule and waited two days to accommodate a work around their shop's schedule due to their under manned staff. These guys are crooks! They charge me $179 to install a sub woofer that was working fine but now it's not working. I demanded my money back but they wouldn't give it back to me. They began pointing fingers at each other and the equipment but would never take responsibility for the job .. They lied to me on several occasions. This was the worst experience ever. read more

First off, let me say these guys deal a lot in very high end sound and media systems. I went in knowing this, but I have a difficult car (Jaguar) and a strict budget. I was expecting an insane price quote because the labor involved in putting a new stereo in my car is intense. The store manager Lamont Schuler was AWESOME! He took the time to talk to me in depth about what I wanted, what my budget was, and what he could do. When all was said and done, the price quote with labor was just barely over $300! I was thrilled!!! Lamont didn't have to take as much time with me as he did, but he did. He got on the computer and looked up ways to match me with exactly what I needed without ever trying to up-sell me or feel like my business was not important. I highly recommend this business based on my customer service experience... I also don't take the time to write reviews unless I'm exceptionally happy and "above and beyond" service was rendered. Very poor customer service. I went there anyways spite what the reviews said, and I should have just listened. I went in there and the guy at the front desk (black guy with dreads) was very rude and unprofessional. He talked to his friend for about 10 mins about everything and then came to me. But even then he was talking on his cell phone and texting and talking to some other person that walked instead of finishing up with me. He acted like he did not want to help me I had to press information about installing speakers in my car, instead of him just giving me the info that i needed. My brother was just ripped off by this store. They charged $175.00 labor just to install a head unit he purchased from Best Buy, in his 95 Mercedes S320. The factory deck was already removed and no wires were cut, which means it should've been a simple no sweat install with a wiring harness and antenna adapter. They charged about $35.00 for those parts. The avg price to install a head unit it around $40-$50. Their only justification for the price was that it's because it's a Mercedes as if it high level technology or rocket science, give me a break the audio in 95 is not that sophisticated and they didn't have to remove anything maybe a little soldering & crimping some wires. Never ever use Custom Sounds it's a wonder they have been in business this long, they are rip offs! read more

I am here waiting to get windows tinted. Was told 10 o'clock on a Thursday morning. I was a victim of a hit and run as a result I have two broken shins and a broken shoulder. Getting here was extremely difficult for me. I am now being told by the young man with the baby beard and baseball cap that he forgot to call me and tell me that it can't be done till two! Don't e we waste your time trying to get anything done correctly here. They even wouldn't let me use their restroom because their "insurance " won't allow it. They would rather I on my Walker go to Fiesta a hundred yards away. read more
