Kenwood DMX809S Excelon flush-mount install with Maestro harness, backup camera, front and rear dashcams, parking sensors, and license plate camera. Everything looks factory-installed -- zero visible wiring, clean bezel fit, OEM stealth look. You would never guess this is aftermarket. They used a Maestro iDatalink harness to preserve all factory wiring so nothing was cut. 500+ Kenwood installs and it shows. The attention to detail on cable routing and trim reassembly is excellent. They also stand behind their work -- told me to come back anytime if anything needs adjustment or fixing. That kind of warranty and after-install support is rare in this industry. Wanted to give my daughter and her husband an upgrade for their 2017 Forrester infotainment system that had been rendered near useless by the Texas heat. Her Subaru dealer wanted a fortune to just replace it with the OEM unit with its 8-year-old technology that even when new was behind the technology curve compared to other carmakers (a lingering issue for Subaru). I reached out to a couple well-reviewed shops but was so impressed by Sohail at Pro Car Audio. He runs the place and knows his stuff up and down. I called him 5 minutes before closing one evening and he spent the next half hour walking me through the pros and cons of mid-priced options for that vehicle. In that conversation he explained the unique considerations for that model of Subaru and why a Kenwood model would be far superior to the Sony unit I'd been looking at somewhere else. We struck a deal, booked the install, and it all went down yesterday. It was a great experience. Sohail and his team installed the unit in precisely four hours--exactly what he estimated. The unit and its trim kit are seamlessly integrated into the vehicle and have none of that "aftermarket" look you used to see in non-factory stereos. And the team at Pro Car Audio integrated the steering wheel controls with the unit so you almost never have to touch the screen on the new unit. What's more, the unit now displays car status info that her original head unit never did, including tire pressure and battery charge level. When my wife and I get fed up with the head unit in our own Subaru, we'll call Sohail again. I know just the unit to have them install. Since updating my car stereo in 2020 when I wrote my first review, I've been back to replace the original speakers in my Lexus, and troubleshoot my Pioneer Apple CarPlay stereo. I just can't say enough nice things about Sohel (sp) and the guys there. I made an appointment for the speakers but also mentioned the issue with my stereo system. After discovering a defect, the guys shipped my stereo back to the company and installed a brand new one so I wouldn't be without. This was done as a courtesy. I have been a car stereo enthusiast for over 30 years and built innumerable stereo systems myself. But time is in short supply these days and after reading the reviews on Yelp, decided to give Pro Car Audio a shot a replacing the stock stereo in my Audi TT. We did the full treatment: replaced the headunit, replaced all the speakers, added a sub with amp (with volume control knob under the dash), and rearview camera. I cannot put into words how impressed I am with Sohail, Steve and their installers at Pro Car Audio. Super professional, friendly, low pressure, and knowledgeable. They even sent me a video of my car at the most disassembled stage of the install which might be scary to some! But upon delivery, the car is PERFECT. So my car was making the strangest noises. Rapid very load thumping that would start randomly and quickly end. Like what is that?? Then in a long trip it just kept thumping and humping. I figured out it was coming from my speakers. It stopped and a bizarre set of tones started playing, very close encounters. Then all went quiet. Definitely poltergeist so I took it to Proaudio for an exorcism. Steve greeted me in his priestly audio attire and smoothly declared I had a case of "sound cancellation" gone rogue. My audio system was thoroughly corrupted and needed to be cut out. Despite my growing trepidation I agreed to the exorcism rites. They kept my Miata for a day, probably cleaned it with holy water and it emerged a shining new vehicle with the most holy and resplendent of all sound systems. Ever note pierced my heart and brought divine light to my existence . I still tear up a little when I turn it on. So if you bothered by malign audio spirits, make the pilgrimage to Proaudio and your ride shall be healed. read more

Steve was very knowledgeable, thorough and friendly when I initially called to inquire about replacing my stereo as well as my blown out speakers. They are fair and won't try to push you into something you don't need. The whole installation took only a few hours and I'm pleased with my new sound system! The only thing I wish I'd known beforehand is that I wouldn't be able to adjust the car clock with the stereo model I got, but it's not enough to knock any stars off the review. The guys at Pro Car Audio are great. I personally dealt with Faisal and Steve in upgrading the stereo/speakers and adding a backup camera to my 2002 Tahoe Z71. I'm fairly ignorant when it comes to these things, so I relied on a Nextdoor recommendation to find Pro Car Audio which stated their prices are reasonable and that they are good guys in general. I requested a Yelp quote from Pro Car Audio, and Faisal responded quickly with some questions to help understand my vehicle and my goals with the upgrade (bluetooth capability and backup camera of primary importance, with kickin' sounds close behind). A few hours later, Faisal provided me with quotes for various cost options. I appreciate that he knows we don't all have money trees in the backyard... We set up an appointment for drop off (I received estimates on a Thursday, and we scheduled for a Monday drop-off) which was slightly outside their business hours, but Faisal was very accommodating. A day later, Faisal called to let me know the Tahoe was ready. I went for pickup and Faisal provided a very thorough walk-through of my new setup and all its features. They installed a double-DIN Pioneer AVH-NEX head unit and did a swap-out of the factory speakers and subwoofer for Memphis Audio speakers and a Kicker 8" subwoofer. The interior of the vehicle appears unaltered even though they did have to do some fitment work behind the speaker grills. I was a little concerned about the new black bezel around the instrument/stereo/ac cluster (required for the new 6" touchscreen) since my vehicle had the tan/beige surround; it looks just fine to me (see my crappy photos). In the end, I'm delighted with my new setup. I never had the "cool" car with upgraded stereo that I so desperately wanted growing up in the early 90's (Steve thumbs-upped my Toad the Wet Sprocket cassette in the deck); at 43, I can now put that regret to sleep. There are, of course, fancier setups out there, but to me, this is AMAZING! So clear and crisp the sounds! Whether it's my Vampire Weekend at modest-to-loud levels, or the kids' Lil' Peep, etc. at ridiculous levels, this thing is fun and sounds great! Oh yeah, and the added safety of the backup camera... Anyhoos, give Pro Car Audio a call; you'll find fair pricing, good products, and good humans to work with.
