I would pick a different shop if you really want custom work done with a professional staff. Nice people but sloppy work. I was told by one of the owners "you only paid $xxx amount" as the first excuse and gave them a chance to fix it but more excuses followed "that was the only way to run the wires". Amp wasn't secured down, power was arcing from the power to the remote, and there was very little cable management. Glad I didn't have a fire. read more

These guys are the best!! I met John a few years ago, after just moving to Austin, when I was looking for a shop to re-align my after market headlights. John was working at another shop at the time, and I ended up having a poor experience with other people at the shop and went somewhere else. After the shop closed, John saw a negative review I had written for the old shop and reached out to me on Facebook to let me know he was opening his own shop and would be happy to help me there. I thought this was an outstanding gesture on his part and I really appreciated him taking the time. A few years went by and I didn't need any custom work until my headlights were damaged in an accident. Covert Collision repaired the damages on my car and let me pick a new after market headlight kit. I asked them to just install the part and I would take it to a custom shop to get the wiring done. My car was ready at about 3 pm the day after Christmas. I called Elite Customs to see if they would be able to look at it and they said they had time that same day (!). I picked the car up and took it to John and his brothers at around 4:30. Despite them closing at 6 they wanted to get started right away and finished the wiring on the spot! I was very impressed with the eagerness of John and Paul and how quickly they finished the work up. Mike chit chatted with me a bit while I waited which was nice and made the time go by faster. All three brothers are very friendly and really have the customer's best interest in mind. They were easy to work with, even with the collision shop being involved, and in fact said they would have preferred to work closer with the collision shop so the work could have been finished all at once. I recently purchased a dashcam from Amazon. I wanted the power cords routed under molding and connected into the fuse box instead of using the "cigarette lighter adaptor the cam came with. I dropped my car off at Elite and they said they could do the installation for one hour of labor which was $60. They did do a great job hiding the power cord and connecting into the fuse box at a strategic place. They even programmed the dashcam for me with some settings I had not discovered. They also test drove the cam about 100 yards to make sure several of the features were working. I know because I saw the video. If you are looking for a fancy shop with a nice waiting room, this place is not for you. If you want a couple of no-nonsense people to install a stereo, mobile radio, or dashcam, this is the place to go. read more

I called around to several shops in the area and they had the best prices by far. They hooked up my amp to my factory deck and my amp to my subs in addition to installing an auxiliary bass knob. They had to go through a double firewall which is pretty impressive and I'm happy with the work. I recently purchased a new Genesis G80 that despite having a ton of speakers, didn't have anywhere near enough bass. When you buy an expensive car, you may hesitate to just take it anywhere. Especially when we're talking about messing with the often sensitive and complex electrical system. I visited a few places to get quotes and suggestions to "fix" the bass problem. Everybody usually has some confusion as to what this car actually is, but they quickly determined the best solution for me and my requirements. I only wanted something to "fill in" the lack of bass, not rock the neighborhood. And keep some trunk space for things. Yeah, "I'm old." Some shops seemed intent to sell something unnecessarily custom and expensive. Elite Customs suggested an 8" JL Powered Sub, wiring kit, line-level adapter, sub volume control, etc. While the sub was on the pricey end, it was just what I had in mind. I also had them wire a detector and dash camera while it was there. Out the door price and availability sounded perfect, so I threw down partial payment so they could order what they needed. Everything arrived the next day and we had installation scheduled one more day later. This is a small independently owned shop, so the waiting room is basically a couch in their shared office. But it's Round Rock, so there are plenty of other things to do in the area while they get to work. Yet they kept me involved throughout the process, determined best option/location for mounting of things, and made sure I was happy with the sound. Tuning it as we went along. I ended up moving the dash cam, but they've already offered to move the wire to suite the new location. Overall I'm quite pleased with the service, price, and results. I am really sorry to report this and have been working with John. I had them replace the overhead liner fabric plus backing on my 97 Jeep Cheyanne Sport. When I ask John if he could just re-glue the old old fabric he said do it right replace the whole thing. So I did. Less than a year later the fabric began to bubble off the backing. Mostly near the front visor. OK MAYBE I HOOKED IT SOMEHOW. John did not want to replace just repair. But you "said that wouldn't work." Couple months later it's bubbling up everywhere and John won't return my calls. I suppose I will have to take them to court. Sad state of affairs. read more

I had this guy install alarm on my vehicle. He sounded very confident he could do it. He could never get the alarm to work right and had to do several wiring work around. About 2 months into driving, there were some strange electrical issues with the car. Things I could put up with. But then my car started to die in the middle of driving. That was enough for me. I was not going to put my family life endanger over a car alarm. I took it to an established place to return the car to factory stock. The guy said that Elite custom did some very bad wiring. The ends of the wires were exposed on the wires in multiple areas. Where there was connections, it was hastily done in some areas. After the place returned the car to stock, something else broke did not work correctly. I took it to the dealer, he said that who ever installed the alarm broke the fuse box wiring. All and all, I had to spend an extra $900 to get my car back the was it was and fix the fuse box. My feeling is this guy rushed my car and made a lot of assumptions about wires not being used, so he never bothered to add a simple electric tape at the end just to cover the wires 'just in case'. You can never assume. There's no telling what the wires will do or if water gets into them. Overall, my impression was it was a sloppy job. I wished he had been more careful. I'm never going to a small shop like this again and just spend the extra cash on a reputable shop. This could have cost me and my family very dearly. read more

The Guys at Elite Customs are outstanding! I had engine feed back in my 2016 Veloster Turbo big time after an Amp and Subwoofer install. They went over everything and just could not figure it out. Went through forums called dealerships and looked over manuals for the car. Just as they were about to give up after 3 hours of trouble shooting they caught a break. Apparently the Turbo Models for the Veloster has a engine feed through the stereo unit to give a better driving sound experience. Which is retarded in my opinion, after all the sweat and connecting and diconnecting they found the problem wire! So if you have a Turbo Veloster and is upset that your new system is malfuctioning these guys at Elite Customs are the boys to see and get it figured out.
