She said she's only doing house calls and the soonest she was available is Wed Apr 1st (today). I really needed it done by Monday but reluctantly I agreed to wait for Wed so her team could come to my home and knock it out. I gave her my full address, city state and zip on Friday. I spoke to her Monday and Tuesday this week to re-confirm address, pricing and details of what was to be tinted. Lo and behold she waits until one hour before her team is supposed to show up at my house today to tell me oh by the way she made a mistake and it's going to be $600 for me instead of $500. She is blaming it on the fact she didnt know our home was so far. She had opportunities to punch our address is on Friday, again on Monday and again on Tuesday but she claims she never did until one hour before arrival and now I've wasted 2-3 days of time when I could have gotten this job done elsewhere Monday morning or Friday afternoon last week. Horrible business practices this place has and I will never recommend anyone to them.

The guy who did the consultation, Dylan, told me that because of the height of our windows (18 ft) scaffolding would be required and that alone was $300 and they had a company minimum of $399 for any job so the scaffolding would help make minimum. Total job came out to $500 initially but when the guys who did the actual job came out, they took one look and was like "let's just use a ladder" after we cleared everything out for scaffolding. They used a ladder, I pointed out to the company that had scaffolding not been needed I would have just gone with maybe 2 more windows at that height up top getting film to make the minimum rather than be charged for something they didn't actually even use. They told me they understood and going forward would make sure they took that into account for future consults (great for future customers?) and knocked like $100 off, less than what it would have cost me to just get those 2 windows treated minus the scaffolding. Either come back and say "you're right, here are the two windows done for you" or just make an exception for the minimum because you didn't give me the option to choose additional work over scaffolding to make the minimum since the latter was apparently a "requirement" due to the height of those windows. They are lucky they have Dylan as an employee who was just following regulation requirements and is an asset to that company, otherwise I would have taken off more stars. With regards to the work itself, I am happy with the work itself, they do good work. Just, get your story straight about how you charge people to ensure they get the best "bang for their buck" as Savannah mentioned.

However, I was blind sided by their terms and financing.. I was told they had 12 month no interest financing. What they did not tell me was that the financing was not through them. It was through a company called Regions financing. We had a 7,500.00 job and we paid half up front. They also did not tell me that it would involve a a hard inquiry on my credit report. This lowered my FICO score by 30 points. My wife and i have a combined income of 200,000.00 and the company wanted pay stubs and rewards letters from my SS and School board retirement account. Screw this, I said. I talked to manager Dylan Gammons who understood my frustration and gave me till the end of the month to pay the balance. They did good work but I felt this financing offer was deceptive. I urged him to inform perspective new customers what was going to happen with the hard inquiry. Once it happens, you cannot take it off and i feel I was had.

The next day they called to tell me there were no brake lines available for my Jeep anywhere with MOPAR, or any other manufacturer. People in my situation are all waiting months for these things on back order. Most shops would have probably told me to come tow this Jeep out of their way until a brake line was available. Not Juke! They thought outside the box and let me know a hydraulic shop they work with could build the part for me, and it would only be $80 more! Perfect! Even though they had to run around town with these brake lines, and rely on another shop to hunt down parts and fabricate custom brake lines for me, they had my Jeep back to me after just 6 business days! The other great thing is Miguel kept me updated the whole time and I never had to worry about if my vehicle was being taken care of. This guy that he sent had to come back because break line and components came off next day while driving. I have pics and texts to prove. My GM 6.2 V8 come to find out common problem for that motor lifters went out so I went to him for the engine replacement. His price quoted was pretty good so I gave him a shot. My car was not even drivable this whole time (we had to wait on engine and things for months) yet I get a call the day he test drives it for the first time and he tells me I need new steering column. The car did not go in for steering issues. It was completely fine. He blames it on wear and tire from my lift and big tires. I call the people who did my lift and I called covert Cadillac certified mechanics and gave the history of car and lift and all and they called BS. My fault for not driving to Frank's place to see for myself. So I pick it up after engine replacement and steering column replacement. I get not but a mile down road from his shop and no acceleration and engine is just revving up loud . I coast off the road to luckily a gas station right there. What looks like oil and grease is splattered all over undercarriage and side and back windows. I have pics of all this. Transmission line came off. I won't give any more specific on this because I'm in process of filing the lawsuit and taking him to court. So He has a guy come meet me, I took video of his mechanics actions and what he did and Frank telling him on the phone I'm good to go, needless to say he screwed up. I get home and next day the car does it again right as I drive out of my home. I call Frank to get it towed back to his shop which is about 45 min to an hour from Lakeway. Frank gets car back, now he tells me I need new transmission. After transmission I go back to car to pickup and I go to open my door and there was mechanic grease all over headliner and seats, spilled oil on my rubber mats, bird shit all over the outside and dust and pollen caked the interior. He left windows cracked. I took pics of everything as proof. He decides to offer me a detail, so he sends me down the road. He paid for it yet I waited 3 hours. What I'm paid for my time in work you could say was a bigger loss. The fact alone my car was in that condition when he called to tell me it was ready is reason alone you shouldn't use him. I've included pics with this post. I could go on with several other smaller things I asked him to do while he had my car for engine replacement and transmission repair that I needed done. He never fixed them. I again have proof where he acknowledges he forgot so now I have to reschedule to have him finish the job. I also recorded most of our phone conversations that prove he apologizes for messing up. It came to the point where I was recording the convos because prior to me doing that it was just word salad on his part and I knew it this point I needed to document for the court. You would be amazed how many texts I have where I have had to constantly follow up and check on him after he would give me a supposed timeline or update with a promise he would keep me updated. I'm convinced all these reviews on here that are high stars aren't legit whatsoever. I have meticulously documented everything with pics, texts and phone conversations. If you're smart and reading this don't give him your business no matter how well quoted he may be . He may try to defend himself with a reply like some others he's done to on here. I've got it all though m, the truth. I was always extremely nice in all my texts to him, I was at the mercy of his screw ups and didn't want to be a jerk. No matter what when your rude or a jerk you run the risk to be even more screwed over so I chose to take high road and he knows it. I've verified and shown all my proof to several different master General Motors Master technicians and they all came back with resounding response that Frank was at fault. So now it will be in the courts hands and I will update this once it's over. For anyone that would like to know more you can contact me. I've got all you would need to run as fast as you can from this mechanic. I've even documented some new mechanics that showed me what things he did that they couldn't believe from when he did the engine replacement. His shop spliced so many wires and I took video the moment the mechanics found these issues and they talk on camera about it. I've asked Frank over the last several weeks and really last 6 months to send me an itemized list of repairs like a receipt. His reply was he texted me the cost every time he had to charge me for something. Last thing, he never once showed up on time for any of the jobs that he did. I have proof of his reasons for being late and apologies for every one of them. What kind of professional does that. All the more reason to believe these reviews are fake

From start to finish, the team at Jeff knocked it out of the park. First off, the communication was top-notch. They took the time to explain all the options, made sure I was getting the best gear for my setup, and even offered suggestions to optimize the sound specifically for open water. The install itself? Man this guy knows his stuff. I had an older boat I was having re-floored and fiberglassed. I wanted the finished product to look sleek and factory and possible, clean. Not only did Jeff brave rolling around in the unfloored fiberglass boat to wire in 8 speakers and 3 subs for me, but he lit up my whole boat with color changing LEDs, and had to knowledge to upsell me with a second battery and a switch to turn it on and off. Smart move! the system rocked so hard it actually needed the second battery just to run. For all the extra little details I'm got, I was very surprised not to have my head knocked off on the price. I brought Jeff a 2003 bmw 325ci I had just bought for my son. The car was mechanically sound, I thought. The reason I brought it to Jeff was to get the two front pillars and headiner recovered. It was a pretty good price with a lifetime ownership guarantee. When we went to start the car up Jeff noticed some lights and some rough running and cleaned up the battery connection, checked my tires, and even topped my oil off with a bottle of oil he had laying around. late October, I contacted Speaker Easy because I wanted a basic, affordable solution for Bluetooth…read moreor Apple CarPlay in my 2010 Range Rover. I told them upfront that the vehicle was inexpensive and I did not want to spend a lot of money on a stereo. Jacob at Speaker Easy told me he had a simple, effective, and reasonably priced solution. He referred me to a company called Emerald Integrations, identified the exact part needed, texted me the link, and told me to order it. Before buying anything, I even sent him a picture of the part to confirm I was ordering the correct item. He confirmed it. The part ended up being back-ordered, so it took about two weeks to arrive. Once it came in, I brought the vehicle to him expecting a straightforward plug-and-play install--because that's exactly how it was described to me. A few hours into the job, he called and said, "This is a lot of work, I have to completely take apart your dash." If the job required that level of teardown, I should have been told before anything was touched. He sent me pictures showing my entire dash completely disassembled. At that point, I had no real choice but to let him continue since the vehicle was already torn apart. I asked for a ballpark estimate. He told me they "usually charge $750 for the day." I was shocked--this was never mentioned upfront, especially after I had clearly said I didn't want to spend much. But the dash was already apart, so again, I had no options. Shortly after, he called again: the unit would not work, and he had no solution other than advising me to call Emerald Integrations. Emerald responded that they did not have a fix and recommended closing everything up so they could issue me a refund for the part. Jacob then told me he had to return my vehicle that same day because he was booked the next day, meaning he wasn't going to fix the issue regardless--he'd just reassemble the dash and hand the car back. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, he informed me he would "discount" the charge from $750 down to $600. I was stunned. I ordered the exact part he told me to order, he confirmed it, he tore my entire dash apart, could not complete the job, provided no solution, and then charged me $600 anyway. I told him clearly this was not fair and asked him to reconsider. He refused and stated he would not issue any refund. In my opinion, this situation falls under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, and if I am not refunded, I will be seeking legal counsel to address the damages. I've been in this industry for decades and I have never dealt with a situation handled this poorly. Maybe he does quality work--I can't say, because he never completed the job. But charging someone hundreds of dollars after recommending the wrong part, confirming it, disassembling the entire dash, failing to install it, and giving no upfront estimate is, in my experience, unethical and unacceptable. If you choose to use Speaker Easy, I strongly recommend you get every detail in writing--the cost, the scope of work, what happens if the part doesn't fit, and what you are expected to pay. Otherwise, you may end up in the same situation I did. There are many honest and transparent shops out there. Based on my experience, this was not one of them.

These fellas are kind, understanding, professional, hardworking, reliable, etc. I'll go on in this review to explain how an installation with multiple hiccups and hurdles proved that The Car Audio Shop deserves five stars. ---------------- ANDROID HEAD UNITS ---------------- I ordered a beautiful 12" Android head unit and asked TCAS to install it. Nick initially refused, mentioning customers are never satisfied with them and neither are they. I paid for them to put it in after the warning, and I saw what they meant. It didn't work with steering wheel controls, sounded awful, etc. I hated it on day one of install and scheduled my next visit that day. ---------------- STINGER HEAD UNITS ---------------- TCAS only sells and installs what they put in their own vehicles, and I understand why. This Stinger head unit has my 2016 4Runner feeling more like a 2026. Everything works and integrates well, and the sound quality is incredible. ---------------- COST ---------------- $100/hr. Don't let this scare you. Whenever I stopped in for surprise visits over the days they had my 4Runner, there were almost always two or all three working on it at the same time. ---------------- WORK ETHIC ---------------- Find a chair in their shop. I triple dog dare you. When these guys are on the task, they're working and working hard. ---------------- WORK WARRANTY ---------------- Unfortunately for me, the dash cam rear view mirror main unit and one camera were faulty. The manufacturer sent me a replacement and TCAS worked 5 hours at no cost to me on a Saturday to get me fixed up.

I went ahead and did a Maps search for whoever was close to me but the shops i looked into - their reviews sucked butt. I went further into my search.... Hmm, Pro Car Audio. I'll see what they are all about. How many miles away from me though, I went ahead called. I spoke to the owner of the establishment and with his knowledge on speakers, amps, and whatever was needed, I decided to make an appointment with him. At my appointment, from the outside of the shop, it looks like a hole in the wall shop, but when you step foot inside, it was like the Taj Mahal!! The lobby and what was displayed was pretty awesome, and very organized. Sohail gave me a quote that sounded very reasonable to install the speakers to my vehicle, but I had just recently purchased another vehicle that needed a dash cam installed. Instead of getting speakers for the vehicle I originally wanted done, I got the installation for my dash cam instead, and they were pretty professional and on point on how they did the installation. Very clean and very impressive. I've been in many car stereo shops before, but never like this just for the fact that the owner and his brother know what they're talking about and what's good.. no, GREAT for your vehicle! Sohail and Faisal - the best in Austin for sure. And if anyone is reading this, COME TO PRO CAR AUDIO. The word "PRO" is there for a reason!

I walked in and asked "is Mike here today"? He responded "he is here today...just not right now". He had a smug attitude and at first I just thought he just wasn't good at being funny. Then when I took him out to show him what I needed and an issue I was having, he said I was doing something wrong. Again maybe I was but his smug attitude showed through again. After waiting 1 1/2 hours for an install of my toolbox that I was told would take 20 to 30 minutes I approached James and asked if everything was going okay with the install. The reason I asked is because the first tool box ordered didn't fit. He again had an attitude when telling me they were working on it. When told him that I only asked because of how long it was taking his reply was simply "ok" and he walked off to help someone else. Not a "I'm sorry" or we are doing this or that, just a dismissive "ok". If you can only treat your customers good and not all customers of your business then James should find another job. On the bright side, Mike is great, their products are great and their prices are great. Just make sure to ask for Mike when you go see them. If I had to deal with James anytime I came in I would choose another business. Update: I watched him deal with an elderly lady (after 2 hours...still there). He was dismissive to her as well. She became frustrated with how he was treating her as well. You could tell it in her voice. He may be a great installer but he really has no business in customer service. I am an executive in a retail company for 20 years now and if I saw any of my employees treat people this was I would make a change.
