I bought a vintage truck online from a reputable seller on a popular auction site. The truck ended up being not what was described and the seller enlisted ATX Autosport (local to me) to repair it. The list of items wrong was long and quite ambiguous. It ranged from "vibration under acceleration" to a massive fuel leak to a failing spark plug wire design and many items in between. I was in an interesting position, as the owner of a vehicle but not the client paying for it. I outlined all of the issues and Jason understood that I was looking to have a vehicle that was safe to drive my family around town in. With each step of repair, it required Jason to spend some time driving the vehicle to see what was fixed and what needed further attention. By no means was this a straightforward repair. It took a few months to complete all of the work. Through each step of the way, Jason provided updates that I would consider far above expectations. I felt like he didn't need to do this level of detail on his updates but it proved to me how well my truck was being cared for. Ultimately, the end of our relationship included a less than smooth vehicle transport to my new home, out of state. We had some hiccups getting the right carrier to move it and, again, Jason made it happen. He took extra time to make sure the vehicle was treated right and properly shipped out to me. By far the most impressive shop I've been to in a long time. From the knowledge to the customer service to downright good people, Joe and Jason at ATX Autosport understand what it takes to run a quality shop that an Audi or a Porsche deserve. Their philosophy of working on cars like it's their own resonated throughout the entire time my Audi A5 was in their hands. I brought in my Audi A5 to get spacers installed and to investigate a strange road noise. Joe and Jason were extremely thorough with the diagnosis of the road noise. They attached wireless stethoscopes to each wheel to pinpoint exactly where the noise was coming from. Turns out I had some bad wheel bearings, and they needed to be replaced. Minus waiting on parts to be delivered, Joe and Jason finished work on my car in 2 days, documenting everything with photos and videos. Going above and beyond in communicating every single detail is what I feel sets ATX Autosport apart from the other shops in town. I knew exactly what was going on at any given moment. Jason was also kind enough to do concierge service to the dealership to get my expired inspection stickers replaced. ATX Autosport, Joe & Jason, are fantastic! If you are an auto enthusiast and care about every aspect of your car...ATX Autosport is the only place to take your car. My experience: -2010 White Porsche Boxster Base, 55k miles- A few months after purchasing my first Porsche the service light came on, as well I had a few small annoyances I wanted taken care of. Obviously a 2010 Boxster is nothing compared to the other cars I saw in ATX Autosport's shop - classic BMW 3.0 CSL, Porshce Turbo's, Porsche GT2, Ferrari, and the list goes on. But Joe treated me like I was the most important person, his number 1 customer! I told him my service light came on, my windshield wipers crapped out, and white smoke would occasionally puff out upon start-up. A few days later my car was ready and Joe took me through the entire job, step by step, in his office. He spoke as if this was his car he took care of. He talked about all the extra steps he took to clean up the car, take off the bumper get leaves out of the radiators, cleaned my brakes, fixed the convertible top which wasn't closing properly. Most importantly Joe did NOT replace the oil separator regarding my white smoke issue. With his knowledge he explained that this is normal for Porsches. And if my check engine light hadn't come on, and the smoke only lasts a few seconds there was no need to replace anything. *I feel like this was the number one reason I am staying with ATX Autosport* Any other shop would have replaced that oil seperator and charged me extra so they could make an extra buck. But Joe understands the value of a long-term relationship for both he and the customer. Eventually that oil seperator will have to be replaced, but now I will be back at his shop to fix it. And he now has a customer for life. A few reasons why I will be a customer for life and you should too: -Customer service - Get treated like you are their only customer. Have things explained to you on your knowledge level. There is no feeling like you are getting sold to here. These guys look out for your car as if it were their own. -Care & Craftsmanship- Unparalleled service. ATX Autosport is worthy of their 5-star rating! I had just moved to the Austin area when the dreaded 'check engine' light came on on my Cayenne S. Being new to the area I was just going to take it in to the dealer, however I decided to check yelp and found ATX Autosport and decided to give them a chance. I was able to get an appointment the same day, and the car was ready when they said it would be. Being that I am not a car person, I appreciated the fact they emailed pictures and spoke in layman's terms detailing what was wrong and what was needed to fix it. Since the check engine issue, I have also taken the car in to ATX for new tires. I can't recommend Joe and Jason at ATX Autosport enough! I have found my new Porsche 911 mechanic. I was having a strange electrical issue where my battery would slowly die about every four weeks and my car wouldn't start without a jump. Two other Porsche mechanics couldn't figure it out. Porsche Master Mechanic Joe Leggs of ATX Autosport knew what it was immediately over the phone before even seeing my car. He fixed it in one day, came in under his estimate, and even washed my car. Perfect! I just dropped off my BMW 530i yesterday for him to fix as well. Overall, a very clean, bright shop with nice, easy-going people who really know their stuff from years of experience working on the world's top cars. I hesitated writing this review because I know I'm not going to be able to get in next time, but I like Joe and wish him and his business the best. I have taken my 2013 Audi S4 to this place a few times and I'm glad I did every time. These guys know their stuff. There are only 2 of them so the wait time to get your car in might take some time... it's worth it tho. They will tell you everything you need to know about what is wrong (or right) about your car. Prices are a bit steep for an independent shop, but again, you get what you pay for in most cases. You don't have to worry about your car when you take it to ATX Autosport. After I bought my Audi I heard about how hard it might be to find a good quality shop to work on an Audi. After being turned away from places like jiffy lube and others all of those shops highly recommended me to ATX Auto Sport. After calling to schedule an appointment they got me in that day just so they could put my mind at ease and I scheduled a follow up the next day. Ok, so I bought a 2008 Porsche 911 a few weeks ago without a PPI (Pre Purchase Inspection). But man it was sweet and the price was almost too good to be true. A long test drive and a "thorough" inspection by me and I'm driving home in my Porsche. I'm thrilled with the car, it's sleek silhouette, and it's performance. I was searching for some peace of mind by bringing my new ride to ATX Autosport for an inspection. While I was waiting, I peeked my head into the shop and was greeted by a nice young gentleman. I asked a few questions about the cars in the shop and was answered generously with a tour of the facility. They're all car dudes. We nerded out about the cars, including the shop's own race/track car. Jason was a pleasure from the beginning and to the completion of the work. I can't recommend ATX Autosport with higher regards. You can tell right when you walk into the shop these guys are passionate about what they do. I commented that these guys do great work about a year ago...i've been back since, and there are 2 new guys, Michael and Tim, that are awesome additions to the team of Joe and Jason.... Michael has done some PPI and light restoration work to a late eighties 911 and everything came out great - they even suggested a few things that I didn't catch (upgraded headlights so I can actually see at night and improved shocks that have transformed the way this 25 year old 911 drives). Tim has a wealth of experience as well and has found some less expensive options to repair a set of gauges vs. buying new ones....fantastic! This shop just keeps getting better and better. These guys are great. I took in my Porsche 997.1 Turbo to get my after market exhaust installed. The shop is clean, organized and professional. The guys are great, I spent a lot of time talking to Joe and he's genuinely a good guy that I feel like I can trust to not to price gouge me. I feel the cost was very reasonable and the job came in at what I was quoted and it was done when they said it would be. When I picked it up it was as clean as when I took it in, actually cleaner. One of my pet peeves is to pick up my car and have greasy hand prints all over, grease on the seats, etc. There was none of that here. I found my indy shop and am happy. 2 weeks ago I saw "James Bond" smoke shooting out of the exhaust of my Porsche 911. I thought for sure my engine was blown. I called Jason and Joe and they helped get my vehicle towed in and fixed within 24 hours. After the repair was complete Jason took the time to do a full mechanical walk around of my vehicle and explain the repairs and all recommendations for future maintenance. This place is truly a cut above. Tucked away in a small industrial park just south of Ben White is where car aficionados take their most prized rides. As clean as a surgical suite, your 575 Maranello or VW GTI will feel like it's getting the royal treatment. My A5 had it's brakes done in the midst some seriously sweet rides. I found this shop on Yelp after looking for an alternative to the dealership for maintenance on my vehicle. My last run in with the local dealership left me upset with the lack of care both up front when they were taking the service request, the time they took to complete the small job and the fact that vehicle was returned with grease smeared all over the bumper. The actually care about your vehicle regardless of the service being performed. Jason even put a complete cover over the drivers seat when taking the vehicle for an oil change. Was impressed the moment I walked in, and when I met Joe and Jason. Clean shop, professional service and an environment that relays a first class experience. I have been using ATX Autosport since they opened in Austin. Jason and his team have been maintaining my Porsche for the street and track. They handle both the basic maintenance as well as some bigger projects for me. I have completely changed my stock suspension and brakes at ATX Autosport, including adding adj, dampers, springs, rotors, master cylinders, adj. control arms, adj. roll bar, etc. Not only have they done a great job with the installation services but they have helped with the setup and tuning as well.
