Original screen from Custom Screen Time lasted 15 years, simply needed a repair. Jack was great to work with the second time around too.

Our friend recommended Perry, aka "Bucky," after a great experience, and we're so glad he did. Perry was wonderful from start to finish. He provided a quote, customized the doors exactly as I wanted, and accommodated my preferred locking mechanism. The doors were installed yesterday, and we couldn't be happier. They look fantastic, and the quality and workmanship are excellent. The installers (Sergio & Pana) were saints, too--our tree service happened to arrive with a chipper during the installation, and they patiently endured that jarring noise for an hour while staying professional and focused. They're clearly great at their craft, and I'm already wondering what else I can hire them to do! I highly recommend Perry "Bucky" for quality screen doors, customization, and outstanding service. We're thrilled with the results!

He even cleaned the mess that the previous crew made. I was promised the windows would take 8 weeks. At 7 weeks they were ready, but an unapologetic Hugo called to tell me that they didn't have any available installers for 4 weeks! (During the miserable August heatwave we had sun beating through our old windows and then had to wait until Sept 8). The first crew came on Sept 8th to install the new weather protection windows but the sills were wrong! We waited another 4 weeks for the sills to be replaced with the correct ones that matched our windows. If you are lucky to get Henry, you won't have to worry about poor workmanship... thank you Henry!

The installation crew, including Andy and Ariel, was also very professional, friendly, and helpful. When we told him we were not certain about the style of doors for some of the items he urged us to sign the contract to take advantage of the discount and assured us we would be able to update via a change order. Nothing would be ordered until the choices were made and the change order was executed. We have done many remodeling projects over the years and change orders are standard so we had no reason to doubt his assurances. Since then he has overpromised and failed to deliver. Every time we texted or emailed to ask about the change order status he reiterated that it was with the office, everyone was aware, nothing would be ordered and the change order would be sent - tonight, tomorrow, next day...you get the picture. After weeks of waiting for the change order so we could move on the project, we tried to escalate a number of times because based on the reviews we expected better customer service. However, we were told we needed to resolve all the miscommunications and failed follow through with the salesman that had failed to follow through. Imagine our surprise when we got a text that some of the doors were ready for installation. The salesman was shocked as he had told us nothing would be ordered until the change order was signed. In an effort to salvage the project and because we wanted to believe the salesman, we allowed for partial installation. The installation was riddled with additional issues. Wrong hardware, wrong trim, no wood molding around the door. The salesman was apologetic and did not understand why there was a disconnect. After another few weeks of messages, emails and requests to escalate, we finally got confirmation that the salesperson and the director of revenue would come to our home at 2pm on 6/22. They arrived late 30 minutes late (even though my husband had made it clear he was meeting them during his lunch hour) and the director of revenue was defensive and put all blame on the misrepresentations made by their salesman on us. During the meeting the salesman told him that the remaining doors had not been ordered. After that meeting the company STILL had the salesman follow up to ask how we wanted to proceed. He was embarrassed at that point because he was telling us the company would be able to address our concerns and they hung him out to dry. Even though it wasn't our fault, in an effort to put this nightmare behind us and NEVER deal with them again, after a few exchanges with the director of revenue, we agreed to a resolution provided they completed the project by today. No response for over a week until this afternoon when they basically said 'thanks for agreeing to letting us do what we haven't done but keep bending over backwards so we can do it in our terms'. @owner of the company you should step in sooner and not wait for the online reviews to try justifying the experience. For all those that posted 1 star reviews in the last year we should talk about options. Based on your experiences I can tell is not the individual players. It's the company.

This job was more a saga or an epic than a quick job. Whenever Mike McCormick was directly…read moreinvolved, he or his subcontractors fixed issues; however, they made many unforced errors. On top of that, Mike does not follow through on his commitments. The job was done at the beginning of May. He made multiple promises to have someone out, but goes dark for weeks. He did tell me at one point he had some family issues, but only after I sought him out. I finally through in the towel. First, the door contractor (carpenter?) installed the door with large air gaps around the weatherstripping. As a result, the door did not close properly. A second person had to come out and "shim" the strip so it would close properly and stop the light from coming through. I am not a carpenter, but my father was. He was a "do it right the first time" guy, which he instilled in me, so I expect experts to fe Also, I asked to have a new threshold installed. They installed a smaller one, so there was a big gap between the threshold and my tile. At first, the carpenter wanted to put a painted piece of wood in the gap. We called Mike, and he sorted it and arranged a tiler to fill the area properly. Some tiles needed to be removed and replaced with ones that filled the gap. I will get to this later in this review. Next, the painter spent about 6 hours painting the door and molding, all the while talking on the phone. She sprayed the door in place. She put up plastic sheeting, but did not enclose her work in a tent to prevent overspray. White overspray dust was on my furniture, floor, and stairs. Multiple white blotches appeared on my brown stucco, and she cleaned her spray gun by blowing it into my jasmine bush, hitting the stucco next to the bush. Finally, the finished product had vertical spray lines and an inconsistent texture. Now on to the tiler. I was very specific that the tiler had to understand and have experience with Basalt tiles. Basalt is very porous and sensitive to leaching calcium from the concrete. It must be soaked before installation. The tile removal and installation were level and even. He did a very nice job; however, he applied the sealer while the tile was still wet. The end result was splotchy, and he left sealer splotches on other tiles not part of his installation. Mike offered to clean the overspray, but I could not leave it on the floor and furniture. I cleaned it up. He offered to repaint the door, but I have a trusted painter who owed me some time from a previous job. The tile is still unresolved. The last I heard from Mike was August 7th, two weeks ago, who commited to getting back to me that day. I am a patient person, but at my wit's end. As of about Oct 1 we agreed to part ways. He gave me a discount on the remaining payment, which was more than fair since it was 1/4 of the total job. Door now closes tight and no light shows through. Adhesive shims were used however to mitigate the gaps. Sorry Mike, I would not recommend.

UPDATE: I want to clarify Newman's response because it's actually a good example of the issues…read moredescribed in my original review. Newman states that they completed "additional work and services at no cost," including stucco work. That is not what happened. I was told during the quoting process that the finish work would be taken care of. Instead, I ended up having to handle and pay for the stucco work and interior moulding myself. I also had to come up with a workaround for the bifold that Newman measured incorrectly. The opening was measured too low in relation to our kitchen countertop behind the sink. Because of that, water could potentially collect at the threshold and make its way back toward the cabinetry. We ended up having to add a granite piece behind the sink to cover and protect that area. That was a workaround we had to come up with because of the incorrect measurement, not additional work Newman did for us. So I'm not sure what "additional work and services" Newman is referring to. To my knowledge, Newman has not performed anything outside of the scope we paid them for. In fact, we've had to pay other people and come up with our own solutions to finish or correct items we were originally told Newman would handle. This is exactly why I mentioned the communication issues in my original review. We're told one thing, later told something different, and now their public response says they performed stucco work for us at no charge when Newman did not perform our stucco work at all. I'm happy to acknowledge anything Newman actually did outside of the scope at no cost, but I genuinely don't know what they are referring to. UPDATE 2: I think you're missing the entire point of my review. The issue isn't whether you can go back after the fact and explain why each individual problem technically wasn't Newman's responsibility. The issue is that we repeatedly relied on what YOUR team told us, only to be told something completely different later. Your sales rep and project manager told us you would handle the full bifold installation, including the necessary stucco chipping. We relied on that. Now you're calling it a courtesy outside the scope. Your sales rep told us the bifolds could be rushed. We relied on that. WinDor later told us there was no rush option. We raised concerns about the installation and were told things were "normal." We relied on your expertise. WinDor then came out, told us they were not normal, and corrected one of them. Your project manager inspected our prepared openings and took the final measurements. One of the bifolds was still measured incorrectly, and we had to modify our kitchen design and add granite behind the sink to work around that mistake. Now we have a bifold that is so difficult to open we practically have to kick it, and again we were initially told this was normal because of the ADA threshold. WinDor has now told us it should absolutely not operate that way and is investigating the installation. That is the pattern I'm talking about. At some point, you need to stop explaining why every individual issue wasn't really your fault and take ownership of the overall experience your customer has had. We hired Newman to be the experts. We shouldn't have to verify what your team tells us with the manufacturer, come up with our own solutions to measurement mistakes, or debate afterward whether something your employees told us would be handled was actually part of the job. I'm not expecting perfection. I'm expecting accountability when something goes wrong. That is what has been missing throughout this project.

He was nice and explained everything. Plus gave suggestions... I gave a downpayment of 10% for everything to proceed. They then ordered it. Rough estimate would be 3-4 weeks for the entire process. They have a physical store in norco which was being run by Andres' wife. After 3 weeks or so give or take... i got a message that they were ready to install. Well within the time frame.... They informed me when they were on the way. They probably took roughly 2.5 hours. Lucas, Andres' son was present. Nothing was rushed and i saw how they handled everything... They can reuse your old door handle... but in my case, i bought a new one... just because. The price: It's pretty fair. It isn't cheap but you get what you paid for. For the peace of mind... ill do it again. Since i got a door replacement, everything was included. From removing the old one , to clean up, trash, installing... and thankfully.... the door i got doesn't need any paint. So it's pretty good. Threshold was top notch. And it seems water / insects wont be able to pop in. Will i choose to work with them again? Probably yes... Once i opt for a screen door... maybe in a couple more months once it gets a little bit cooler.
