So promising but so bad - expensive - takes forever (at an airport!) - small portions - bad attitudes - ketchup-like bbq sauce - not enough salt on the turkey burger read more

Oh Newark Airport Food..I was sad that I didn't look at the reviews of this place before I placed my order. I was sorely disappointed by my burger. The depiction on the self-order system portrayed a delicious looking burger and what I received was pretty tasteless and depressing. I will say the fries however were quite delicious and helped me choke down the rest of my food. If I wasn't so hungry and about to board I would have ordered something from some place else and chucked the burger in the trash. read more

Don't get sucked in by the gourmet-looking design and color scheme - I'm honestly wishing I'd gone to McDonald's. Rubbery, chewy bacon, flavorless burger, "spicy garlic" aioli that tasted like neither of the above, cold untoasted bun, unfriendly service and frustrating paying system that none of the staff bothers explaining to you but (of course) gives you an attitude when you ask them for help like you're supposed to know (I saw one tall employee with dreadlocks actually try to pull a wad of cash out of a customer's hand to show him how it's done - the customer told him to stop as he didn't understand US currency and wanted to know exactly how much his meal cost and the employee just gave him a snotty "If you say so, SIR."). Also, the "fresh lemonade" they advertise is actually just bottled, mass-market lemonade. Deceptive, deceptive. I give them two stars for the fries - they were delicious. But unfortunately it takes a heck of a lot more than just good fries to justify a $20 price tag for a worse-than-fast-food burger, fries, and a drink. read more

After returning my burger once and my boyfriends 2 times they finally got our burgers correct. Although they changed his cheese tots to French fries after the last try. Guess the small amount of customers makes the details get overlooked. Not coming back! read more

Of all the trash places to eat in EWR Custom Burger does suck. It's got one thing going for it: you can get a normal hot dog for 5$. It's probably the best deal you can get at the airport. Stay away from their burgers though, they're way to expensive for what you get. read more

I thought this would be better than starving all day. I was wrong. The burger was awful. They put ketchup on it. Ugh. Nobody takes your order so you can't tell anyone how you want it. Not that they would care. Service is as bad as the "food". I have been through this terminal before and there aren't many options, but you are better off chewing on the leather of your belt. I have seen people yelling at the people there because they have been waiting for 30 minutes and they have to go to catch a flight. The service is bad. The food is bad. Just spare yourself. read more

My burger was tasteless and cold. The fries were tasteless and cold. The lack of service available was extremely frustrating and I ordered a chocolate shake which tasted like crap. read more

Do not order from here. They are so incredibly slow and not staffed well enough. I waited over 20 min for a burger when it wasn't busy. They forgot my order until i reminded them. Management hire more people. So many orders were left on the counter because people couldn't wait anymore. read more

I ordered their no-frills cheeseburger and it took over 15 minutes for the burger to be delivered to the counter. Meantime, the cook appeared to have no sense of urgency and moved VERY slowly. The burger was good, but when you're trying to get a quick bite before boarding a flight, this place is the wrong choice. read more

Place was absolutely perfect and exceeded my expectations ten fold. The reviews are terrible but for a quick bite it was perfect and tasted great. I don't know what all the other restaurants are trying to be in Newark but at this place you get a great burger. What you see is what you get. I don't understand why so many people are putting them down. read more

The iPad kiosk is going to take some time for people to get used to but bad customer service is something no one should have to get used to. I feel like they are cutting costs and service is suffering. read more

We'll certainly glad we did not get a burger after reading the reviews. Phew billet dodged there. Husband got a chocolate shake which he said as pretty good. Kind of hard to screw up a chocolate shake read more

Great idea but completely unable to execute. Waited 30 minutes for my food, was told they do not sell diet coke after I ordered it on the I pad, then it dawned on her that she was standing in front of the dispenser and poured the coke. I watched them get two other orders wrong while I waited. Worst of all, the burger was dry and flavorless. read more

Pretty decent burger... crinkle fries were very good. Ordering/paying system is screwy... same problem at Boars Head next door. Doesnt hold a candle to Smashburger that used to be nearby...RIP... read more

The worst service ever. They make TSA look like a 5 star hotel concierge. They are really grumpy and rude. Food is horrible and expensive. I paid $15 for the worst burger ever and chips and soda. There are many better option at the airport. Don't go here read more

Don't waste your time. I got a tiny, hockey puck, burger with a blackened burned bun. The fried pickles that came on my sandwich were very old. My fries came with hair in them. All of this was 16 bucks before a drink. Have a nice flight! read more

I had the misfortune of eating at this food court pit stop way too early in the morning and left feeling unsatisfied and slightly violated. Someone needs to tell them that you don't put a breakfast sandwich on a hamburger bun. Only reason for two stars is the free home fries. read more

Ordered a veggie burger here. It tasted OK, actually, though took a long time. It wasn't just me. There is this stupid iPad system they have for ordering; I guess it's supposed to be fancy, but is actually worse than a normal cash register because you can't talk to a person about your order like normal, nor do you actually pay on it -- you pay separately in a second line. While I was waiting, I could see that some woman's burger was taking so long that she's about to miss her flight. She begs them to just give her a refund, at least. They can't, without their manager's approval. The manager is nowhere to be found. Finally she asks them to give her any burger at all --forget about what she actually ordered-- and they take one randomly off the grill. In the meantime, the cashier hands over a burger to a different customer. She's not looking while she hands it over and drops it before the customer had a hold of it. The burger spills its contents all over the bottled drinks. read more

Don't like the clumsy none human ordering system. Took 2 different people to help me place my tablet order. The machine adds things to your order without choosing them and you have to outsmart the tablet to find the secret "no thank you" button. My burger was not good. The entire airport shifted to this impersonal way of ordering. The last thing one needs while traveling is mind exercises to order food. read more

A bacon turkey burger with fries and soda lightened my wallet by about $15. Worst than the cost was the taste or actually lack of taste of the meal. Small tasteless pattie and thin bacons between small buns made up the protein portion of this meal deal. The fries were the frozen kind from super market. At least the soda wasn't flat. I gave it two stars instead of one because the service was fast and I had even worst airport foods in Mexico City. read more

It is a good concept, but is undermined by brusque staff. I never saw anyone smile entire time I was there. The place was practically empty when I was there, but the waitress only made it by my table once. The meat in the burger had good texture, but it was overcooked and underseasoned. The burger was sloppily assembled with all of the condiments and mustard in one quadrant of the bun. Onion rings tasted like they could have come out of the freezer section at Costco. They do have a decent draft beer selection. read more

Took entirely too long for a fast food place. Terribly disorganized. The order on one kiosk, pay on another and then wait in a mob for your number to be called does not work. What's wrong with people? Then, to add to the insult, after waiting for 1/2 an hour, the burgers were cold. In fact, the veggie burger was ice cold. If I could write a review and give no stars I would. read more

This is my first time here. It was a good experience. I had the breakfast sandwich with bacon.. It was good the fact that my sandwich was with countless thin sliced crunchy bacon with egg on a bun. The bun was awesome too.. I like the fact that I'll just order from the iPad in front of the store and pay as I wait for the food to be made. The price was reasonable in spite of being in an airport read more

Absolutely horrible. Food was decent but the customer service was awful. One of the women with tattoos has the worst attitude. We waited almost an hour for food and she did nothing to help us, instead tried to blame us as if it were our fault. Woman flipping burgers with short hair was very nice and helpful. Everyone else was lazy and took their sweet time helping customers, as if we didn't have flights to catch. We asked for help multiple times and no one available chose to help us. Maybe it's because we're from the south, but hospitality is lacking at this place and most in NY read more

Difficult ordering system (place order, get printed confirmation, walk around to find payment term in, scan confirmation, swipe card, get receipt). Bottled water is warm. Waited 13 mins for a burger that didn't have the toppings I ordered. PLEASE BRING BACK GRAND CENTRAL OYSTER BAR, MCDONALD'S DUNKIN DONUTS AND ALL OF THE OTHER PLACES THAT KNOW HOW TO MAKE AND SERVE FOOD. read more

Literally the worse place I have ever eaten. The staff were the rudest I have ever seen. 2 burgers, 1 fries and a soda that never showed up - $22. Never going to Customer Burger, priceless. Why did they get rid of the macdonalds here? At least is was consistent. read more

So slow and the workers are incompetent. My food was cold by the time it got to me. 1/10 recommend

Wasnt worth the money. Let alone trying to find an affordable place to eat post security in terminal c, this was just meh. The food tasted fine, wasnt bad, but was generic and too expensive for what i got in my opinion. From what i could see of some of the staff, they moved slow as well. Another general note OTG or whatever the larger company is that runs the restaurants inside, a little face to face would be nice instead of ipads and a lot of uanswered questions. Wouldnt recommend. read more

Rather eat a McDonald's burger, at least you won't wait 20 minutes for it. Horrible customer service. There are managers everywhere but they do nothing about helping customers. Sit there on there laptops sipping coffee not dealing with the employees. They must treat the servers like crap because the employee turnover is ridiculous. OTG, the cable company of food service, you have no choice but to deal with it...... read more

Completely disorganized. Every order was fingered through after it was made to check for accuracy. Took 15 min to get my food, by then it wasn't hot. Order was wrong even after they dismantled it on the counter. Cool concept of ordering on a tablet but if your people can't fill orders it doesn't matter how they receive them. If I was the owner of this place, I'd be pissed read more

Mediocre food with prices that are too high. Also I am excited about the iPad ordering, but it's not very flexible. I can't put avocado on my "La Reve" nor can I remove the mustard. If I try to build it as a custom sandwich, it's suddenly far more expensive. I can't put avocado nor Brie on a breakfast sandwich. Custom Burger is actually not custom at all. read more

Fish sandwich was super cold; they built tip into tab but the service was really horrible; servers acting like they were too busy to help, but you pay the tip upfront. Just overall a bad experience. read more

Waited 30 minutes for green beans. Took so long, I couldn't eat before my flight and got a refund. They gave me cash instead of crediting the card. Wtf is wrong with this place?? read more

Should have checked here ahead of time Small overcooked overpriced burgers Bad service - their stupid system forces you to pay for tip before you get anything Could barely even get water Fries weren't too bad Typical shtty laguardia experience though I'll make sure to avoid pat la Frieda beef going forward read more

Did the burger I received look anything like the one in the picture? No, it was much smaller and it was served cold. Did this establishment bother with such niceties like having a clean place for me to sit with the beer bottles from the last patron removed, giving me silverware with my meal, or greeting me? No way. A bad burger at a badly managed establishment. read more

This place was slow and the food was terrible. The hamburger tasted something like beef, but I'm not entirely sure it was. The onion rings were greasy and cold and the chocolate shake was pretty much a vanilla shake. read more

First time to eat Custom Burgers.....and last time. Burger was pretty good but girl behind the grill (Noel) has the worst attitude ever. My burger was cooked wrong and when I brought it to her attention she threw a fit. When I saw that, there was no way I was going to trust her to remake it. There is no telling what she would have done to it. Again, TERRIBLE attitude and shouldn't be allowed to be face to face with any customer. Even when the lady that helps out around the registers tried to get Noel's attention for another unhappy customer she just ignored her. Pitiful showing for the 9 people standing there watching. When I am paying an inflated $11 for a burger, I expect to be treated descent. Last time I would ever go to that place. read more

Got the classic breakfast sandwich and it was good. Employees were friendly. Would come here again but price is really high.

Check your burger BEFORE you walk away! Otherwise, you might find yourself, as I did, on a plane with a rare turkey burger...not edible.

Horrible experience. They got my order wrong and the fries were cold. While waiting for a fresh batch one of the employees coughed and then spit in a garbage can right in front of me and other customers! Rudely yelled at a woman who didn't speak English to use the iPad to order. Continued to wait for fries, when they came out they just stood there and served other people fries, completely forgetting about me until I asked again. AVOID at all costs! read more
