Well it is an airport... we only did a drink so cannot comment on food. Yuu order off the QR code and frankly it was quick. We did need to clean up the table but the airport is hopping!

Decided to have lunch before I boarded my flight. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and a corona. Well the only thing I received was my beer. I waited and couldn't find anyone to ask about my order. Finally got in touch with someone right before I boarded. Hopefully they refund my pizza since I never got it!! Feeling hungry

I'm throwing 5 stars!! Wasn't even sat yet and LEE came around got my beer order, plugged in my phone, ordered some sushi and it came in 4 min!! Love the new terminal, great service, mad at United for changing my gate in the last 30 min before boarding- hard to run with a cast on- but all good! Beer Garden made my already 13 hr day better. Will be back!!

I found myself at CAPS while waiting for a delayed flight in Terminal C in desperate need of a snack and a beverage. It's the typical OTG iPad setup, this time arranged around a long bar. Prices are high, contact with humans is limited, all that jazz. The menu here is a kind of Americanized pan-Asian bar food, and it comes out quickly. For a beer garden, selection is somewhat limited and mass market, but not a bad deal on Asian lagers. My kimchi hot dog was garnished with exactly one spicy and passably flavorful piece of cabbage, which admittedly covered the whole dawg though it was difficult to avoid eating the whole thing in one long bite. The meat was pretty good, but the pretzel bun and various sauces outshone it. Side salad forgettable. My boyfriend fared unexpectedly well with a salmon and rice dish topped with a fried egg; super flavorful from the mushrooms. Filling and healthy, not bad! If you're in Newark, you could do far worse.

I love my experience here. I ordered wings and a beer through the tablet and I didn't have to interact with anyone. I love this! This is a must everywhere. Great job Newark airport!

The two cups they gave me

One star, only because the food was OK, and because Yelp won't let me leave half a star or lower. That being said... based on my experience with this eatery, I can only conclude that they are incredibly racist and sexist. I was at Newark Airport Terminal C twice within a week (11/3/21 and 11/8/21), and both times decided to grab dinner at CAPS Beer Garden. Both times, I ordered their beer (24oz) and wings special, because it's inexpensive for the product that you get. Sue me for wanting to save a few bucks, especially with how overpriced airport food is. Also I should note that we both ordered on iPads, and were out of the line of sight of the bar from where we were sitting. Both times, I flew with my partner (who is a white male, and his name suggests that he belongs to those demographics), but placed my order before he did. I am a woman of color, and my name suggests as much (obviously feminine name and clearly non-American/"foreign" last name). Both times, my beer came out, and they gave me a 16oz beer, rather than the 24oz advertised. When I called this out, they handed me an 8oz cup of beer to make up for the discrepancy in the size of the drink. However, my partner got his full 24oz on the first try, both times. Also, his order came out much more quickly than mine did, again both times. Why does a person with a name that presents as white and male get the entire product that he paid for (and with quicker service), but I, as a person whose name suggests that they were a woman of color, get shortchanged until I call them out? And they didn't even try to argue, presumably because they knew they were in the wrong. So. Women and people with "ethnic names," do not waste your time and money at this location. They will try to shortchange you - you better believe you'll be paying the same price as white men, while getting less product with worse service. Unless you call them out. Disgusting that people still operate this way in 2021, and think they're slick enough to get away with it if no one questions them. I know that these days many people like to dismiss anything having to do with the differential treatment that women and minorities receive as "wokeness" or "overly PC" or what have you, but I genuinely don't know what else to call this behavior but racist and sexist. What I do know, is that I will not be spending my hard earned money at this establishment again, and I urge everyone else (especially women and people of color) to do the same. Photos: 1) both cups that they gave me, the emptier one being the one they gave me to make up for the amount of beer they originally shortchanged me (both were full when they handed them to me); 2) screenshot of the special as it appears on their menu; 3) the cup that they handed my partner (was full when they handed it to him); 4) comparison between the first cup they handed me and the cup they handed my partner (both were full when they handed them to us)

Yes, the prices are high (beers are around $8-$11, and cocktails are around $14), but it's an airport bar.

I learned later that this restaurant has been around since the early to mid 1900's. Plenty of parking in a large open lot. The place is very large and has one of the longest bars I've seen. The wood is very dark and you can see the chefs cooking over the hearth. They don't take reservations and won't see you until your entire party is there. One of the things I liked for our party of 10 was they had no problems with seating as they also have many large round tables. For mixed drinks, they make them pretty big and potent. For my martini, they sent back an extra glass. They also had great bleu cheese stuffed olives. We ordered onion rings (8 large to an order) and fried zucchini. The onion ring I had was pretty good. I didn't have the fried zucchini but heard it was also pretty good. Other than the light fare items, all dinners come with their salad bar which has both iceberg lettuce and Caesar Salad along with many fixings as well as cheeses and bread. I had the Baked Seafood Platter which came with scallops, shrimp, Clam Casino (without the shell), Maryland crab cake and a small lobster tail for $49.99. My wife had the baked chicken breast which she said was quite dry. The dining area is quite large and reminds me of the restaurants at a casino. Some in our group said it reminds them of Medieval Times due to the dark wood vibe. While I thought it was a bit pricey, I would still come back and try their signature steaks or prime rib.

We arrived at Old Town Pub on a weekday at that strange and tender hour between the end of work and…read morethe beginning of evening, when the sunlight looks tired but not yet ready to quit. There were eight of us, a band of aging birthday revelers, unsure whether we were still young enough to be loud or too old to be noticed. The staff didn't seem to mind either way. They smiled, rearranged some tables upstairs in a corner just for us, and let us take our time as the rest of the party wandered in, one by one, like characters from eight different novels who'd lost their place in the story. The upstairs room was empty when we arrived, echoing pleasantly with the sound of our indecision. By the time we left, it was humming with life. The bartender, whose name I did not catch but whose pour I will remember, mixed me an Apple Jack from the fall cocktail list. I had planned to explore their beer selection, which is said to be quite good, but the apple and Tito's combination called out to me like an old American folk song. It was crisp and strong and made me grateful for my liver's enduring patience. For dinner, I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was good but too greasy, even for a dish whose main promise is grease. The plate looked like an oil field after a minor accident, and the poor chips had to make do with swimming lessons they hadn't asked for. Still, the fish itself was solid and flaky, and I ate most of it while pretending not to notice the puddles. Around the table there were burgers, salads, sandwiches and tacos. Everyone ate. Everyone was fine. No one wept with joy. Our server, though, deserves an entire paragraph. He was the sort of person you wish the world had more of. He was patient, kind, and surprisingly cheerful for someone who had to answer seven variations of "What's good here?" He took special care with our friend who has celiac disease, making several trips to confirm that her meal would be safe. He handled it with both professionalism and genuine concern. It was one of those rare moments when good service feels less like customer care and more like small-scale heroism. We were politely nudged around 7:00 to make way for the trivia crowd, which seemed fair. We had been there for two and a half hours, which in restaurant time is nearly an epoch. On another night, I imagine they would have let us stay longer. We left feeling content, not dazzled, but content counts for a lot these days. Old Town Pub may not be the most extraordinary restaurant in Bordentown, but it has heart. It has history, too, tucked into its walls from the days when it was The Farnsworth House. The renovation in 2017 gave it new life without scrubbing away its past. That balance between old and new feels just right, like the moment between late afternoon and early evening. Four stars for kindness, competence, and cocktails that don't apologize for being cocktails. The fish and chips may have been greasy, but the night itself was not.

The pick up process was smooth and they were right on time when we arrived. Everything is carefully packaged with clear instructions about how to reheat. The restaurant is beautifully renovated and maintains it's rustic charm despite the modern touches. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food was so-so; we really were hoping to be blown away by the menu. We ordered the tuna tartare and French onion soup for appetizers. Entrees ordered were steak frites and marinated grilled shrimp. I was surprised at the way the tuna tartare was presented - it felt more like a mushy salad. Also, the tzatziki that was part of the marinated grilled shrimp did not resemble or taste like traditional tzatziki. The shrimp, however, was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. We definitely appreciated the history of the place and that was an experience to remember.
