We shopped around and spoke to many local pool builders before finding Custom Built Pool & Spas. Joseph designed the pool of our dreams and John definitely delivered. This team was on it every step of the way. They didn't try to sell us on anything and they made sure we made educated purchases/choices. I would definitely recommend this builder. Top notch quality and outstanding customer service.

On time, professionalism at its finest. Quality work at a fair price. More than satisfied with the work performed, highly recommended.

Joseph is incredibly awesome to work with - you can call or text him any time of the day and he will always respond in a timely manner. John is the pool guru! He was awesome and showed up to every step of our inspections to make sure they were signed off. Inspector tried leaving once because he said he didn't see the job card to sign off! Our pool start to finish was completed in two months! Quicker than promised . We were told roughly four months. I guess we got lucky. Carlos did the Rock work and he is a hard worker. Finished all rock and paint in less than two days. We had him change the color 3 times to get it perfect and he was happy to do so. When southwest gas came to hook up our gas line he asked who did our pool because he had never seen such a clean install and he said it made his job 100x easier. Our plaster is so perfect it was exactly what we wanted!! Couldn't be happier!!!! Thank you guys!!

Last year my wife and I were looking into adding a swimming pool on our property, we had about 5 different pool company's come out to give us estimate two of the pool company's sales reps gave me the feeling I was wasting there time, one pool company told me what I wanted for a pool and there was the (used car sales man) smelled like cigarettes chewing gum cheap suit hell it was funny. Then Joseph from Custom pools showed up no joke this guy reminded me of family, down to earth no B.S up front about everything no pressure sale he even kept in touch with us during our quest for a pool. On January of 2020 My wife and I decided to go with Custom pools and to my surprise John the owner is just as welcoming as Joseph again no B.S, John did showed me his swimming pool with the rock formations, which we added to our pool. John went above and beyond the scope of work we agreed to he worked with us on last minute changes my wife ask for during the build. The crew that works for John very professional from Juan Carlos to John's son's. Now as for the work I can't say enough about the Quality, workmanship, and pride these guy's have they made sure every detail was taken care of, even when covid-19 hit Joseph called to see how my family was and to let me know as soon as the governor gave the OK they would be back the build. Custom pools is quality John and his sons were involved through out the build, I highly recommend Custom Pools to everyone real good people.

We're very satisfied with our pool. They did great rock work, price was very fair, and pool was completed in a timely manner. They really listened to my vision and budget, and we worked together to achieve a pool and spa within our budget. They never pushed to up sale , they did give options but never felt pressure, which I appreciated it. All Pentair equipment and we are excited to make memories in our new yr

I highly recommend John and his team. Top notch. We love our pool. Staff was great to work with, and highly respectful people. Would use him again for my next pool. They built us an amazing pool. Thanks John!

From the day Joseph came to our house to start the bid process to the day John shook my hand at completion, I was happy to give Custom Built Pools & Spas my business. Being a contractor myself and having a hard finish date, I put lots of pressure John but he always kept his cool and just simply got it done correctly and on time. To top it all off they had the best price. A special thanks to Joseph from my wife for respectfully following up with me until we sealed the deal. Joseph also nailed the composite design to show us what it would look like the first time. We had an idea and he and his team took it to the next level and added value engineering that we used. I can't say enough about how good the artificial rock work looks. Carlos did such a great job that several of our friends asked how we were able to move these giant rocks into our back yard. I highly recommend this team. TOP NOTCH!

John built a custom rock scape pool and spa for us with waterfalls and various other water features last year that my wife and I designed and drew up the plans ourselves. The pool turned out fantastic and his crews and subcontractors were top notch and professional. He can construct anything from mild to wild depending on your budget. The scope was far more than the pool which included all new decorative patio concrete, patio cover, fences and gates, new driveway and electric sliding gate, lighting, and also utilities for a future built in BBQ island. All of the change orders that cost extra were self imposed that we requested as we saw opportunities to improve the design and extra features during construction. I highly recommend Custom Built Pools and Spas.

We hired John Rassmussen and Custom Built Pools and spas after my client got burned badly by a non licensed pool builder that the General contractor had found on Craigslist. That "pool builder"s name was Rick with Ricks pools. He was not even a licensed pool builder unbeknownst to my client. Everything about the pool was completely wrong and most definitely would have caused significant damage had John not come along to correct the many mistakes. John was extremely knowledgeable, as well as professional in every aspect. He not only performed the highest caliber of workmanship, but also finished ahead of schedule. We were never left wondering what was going on with the pool project as John made it a point to maintain solid communication throughout the project. There were no hidden fees, or added on expenses, or attempts to up sell us on things we did not want. I have and continue to highly recommend John and Custom Built Pools and spas to each and every one of my customers and clients. If you are looking for Quality, Honesty, precision, and an overall excellent pool building experience then look no further than Custom Built pools and spas by John Rassmussen.

We hired Tropical Breeze to complete a driveway replacement in July of 2023. Shortly after the…read moredriveway was completed and the final bill was paid, we noticed large unsightly dark spots all over the entire driveway. Some of the bigger spots measure over five feet long and three feet wide. We contacted JJ, the owner via text to explain the problem and attached plenty of photos. We also asked if he would return to the job site to look at the dark spots in person. He was very dismissive from the get-go and said there wasn't much that could be done and to wait until the summer to see if the spots lightened up or go away. We waited the recommended time and the large unsightly dark spots did not go away. We reached out again via text explaining the problem did not improve and again asked to schedule a phone call to discuss. He was again very dismissive and tried to blame it on the sprinklers this time. We then called his cell phone and the company line and left messages that went unanswered. We ended up having other contractors survey the driveway and gave us several probable causes that all pointed to poor workmanship. The bottom line is JJ claims that the work they do is under warranty but in reality, it is not. He will worm his way out of taking any responsibility for the work they do if it doesn't come out right. The only recourse you have is if you haven't made the final payment yet. But with concrete, you make the payment when it's completed, and it can take weeks to cure. They are capable of doing good work as they did work on the backyard that came out fine. The problem with Tropical breeze and dealing with JJ is that if anything goes wrong, he won't do the right thing to correct the problem if he already has your money. This case ended up in a legal battle. Ask yourself this, why would you bother dealing with a contractor like this if there are plenty of other choices out there. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. See the photos of the driveway taken 1 to 2 years after completion of the project and decide for yourself if this product is acceptable.

They fixed the coping, and the grout so It's now back to looking great and works good. We have now had the pool for almost 2 years I believe and nothing else has gone wrong. Their work on the pool itself is beautiful so if they can fix their response time for future clients, you'll be in good hands.

I've dealt with many contractors over the years, and I can honestly say this was the most hassle-free and rewarding contracted project I've ever managed. After 22 years my pool needed to be replastered and all the equipment replaced. From the start it was clear FM paid close attention to every detail and made sure I was well informed and had all my questions answered before making final decisions. At every step and stage of the restoration I was given the pros and cons and advice when I needed it. It was reassuring to have a discussion on previous and emerging trends in styles, colors, and equipment. It helps that FM has been around for a long time. They know what has and has not worked. From the precision of the tile alignment to the beauty of the stone and glass pebbled surface, every part of our pool displays quality and craftsmanship. FM provided a fair, competitive price that didn't sacrifice quality. I know there are higher end ways to go but I now feel like I have a "luxury" pool for an incredible price. There were no hidden fees or surprises mid-build. The crew showed up when they said they would, kept the site as clean as possible, and kept me updated through every phase. It's rare to find a company that actually delivers on its promises, but I feel FM exceeded what they said they would do. If you want the job done right the first time without breaking the bank, give them a call. You won't regret it!

I bought my home in the summer of 2024 and during the inspection was told, very matter‑of‑factly,…read morethat I had maybe one--possibly two--good summers left before the pool would need resurfacing. Spoiler alert: that prediction was spot‑on. The black algae that had been lurking in the decades‑old plaster started popping through like an uninvited guest who really doesn't take a hint, no matter how hard I tried to fight it. After a summer packed with great pool parties (worth it), I decided winter was the perfect time to handle the pool glow‑up. So I did the responsible homeowner thing: I got quotes. Five companies later, I had prices ranging from $8,500 to $20,000 and a surprising number of "optional upgrades." One vendor even offered to put a turquoise tortoise--yes, an actual mosaic tortoise--at the bottom of my pool for an extra $3-4K. Did I want it? Absolutely not. Do I adore the phrase "turquoise tortoise"? Absolutely yes. In the end, I chose Waterscape, mostly because the pricing made sense, and the communication was quick and easy via text. My only real goal was simple: resurface the pool, update the tile, and keep the whole thing under $10K. Mission accomplished. They sent over a DocuSign, gave me a one‑week December timeline, and the whole thing ran like a well‑oiled (and extremely punctual) machine: Monday, 9am-12pm: Full demolition of the old plaster Wednesday, 9am-1pm: Tile installation Saturday, 9am-12pm: New plaster poured And just like that: Brand‑new pool! After that, I stuck to the four‑week maintenance plan--daily brushing, treating the water, and absolutely zero heating of the pool or spa. Now that the curing period is done, the hot tub is officially back in action. Overall? Five stars. Smooth process, clear communication, no turquoise tortoises forced upon me, and a pool that's finally as ready for summer 2025 as I am.

Went to get it and the girl there was definitely doing her best the place was packed with customers and overwhelmed to help them all alone she AT THE TIME was helpful, nice, and smiling unfortunately she had no record of my order told me should could get it all together if I wanted to wait since I already paid for it, i told her no rush I gave her the information told her I'd come back later she thanked me and I left. My order in that moment could wait till later FAST FORWARD to about 5:15pm I walked in inquiring about my order that I assumed would be ready unfortunately the girl I met earlier in the day her whole attitude had changed no longer was she smiling had a look of I hate my job and had NO level of customer service left in her... she explained and due to an Eos update ( no idea what she was talking about ) there systems are all "messed up" I asked her what do I do she then said "cancel your order and buy it in the store ", ... but I already bought it I spent over $300 on the order I asked for a number to call and complain to, although I understand systems are down not my problem especially when she told me earlier she'd get it all together SINCE I ALREADY Paid for it !!! Then a gentleman walked in she just stopped talking, helping me and turned her back to me and started to ignore me and help then gentlemen WHAT THE HELL ??? Ok message received you didn't want to help me further so I went on the app canceled what I could And in a store I've never been in started looking for the items I needed Found most of them then had to ask her for help to which she replied " I would have helped if you asked " ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME????? I told her well you were helping me until you got tired of it and turned your back to me. I didn't know we were done talking until you started ignoring me and helping someone else, She got very silent probably cause she knew she was wrong. Now in the store I ended up paying over $400 for the same order. I already placed earlier absolutely ridiculous !! on top of this I had received discounts online and this girl assured me I would get those same discounts and when I looked at the receipt, surprise surprised, but not really no discounts were given !!! With no hesitation I informed her that this whole experience was bs and how the Customer Service went for helpful to I don't care is wildly unprofessional!! In one day I spent over $700 ..

Our pool remodel turned out absolutely beautiful. From the initial estimate to the final inspection, the quality of the work was top-tier. We specifically chose travertine and mini pebble resurfacing, and the final result is stunning. What really sets Waterfall Pools apart is the owner, Ensar. His communication throughout the project was excellent, and his attention to detail is remarkable. There was a moment during the project where he personally inspected some of the coping and decking work; although it might have looked fine to an untrained eye, it wasn't up to his high standard. He immediately had his crew redo it to ensure it was perfect. That kind of integrity is rare. A few other highlights from our experience: Reliability: Ensar stuck exactly to the schedule he gave us, completing the project right on time. Professionalism: He is genuinely a nice guy who makes the entire construction process much less stressful. Transparency: The pricing was fair and transparent, with a clear progressive payment plan based on project phases. If you want the job done right by someone who actually cares about the finished product, Ensar and Waterfall Pools are the way to go. 100% recommend them!

I have dealt with my fair share of contractors and most don't pay attention to the details - They aren't helpful, and when you're not looking, they cut corners. Ensar is different. He was always available to answer all my many questions. He took time to explain things. If there was even a minor detail I had a question about, he made sure to address quickly with his crews. It was clear he and his crews were in lockstep the whole time. He visited the site regularly. He seemed genuinely invested in making sure he delivered a good project for us. At one point, we had some issues due to the rain, and Ensar himself drove out on a weekend to help me out. His crews also work very hard. I was always impressed by their dedication and wanting to make sure things were taken care of. Schedule - He gave me an estimated completion time and I thought, no way. We had two major rain delays, about a week each, and somehow he still made the original schedule he projected. He sent his crews out almost daily. It was clear he did a lot of planning on his side to ensure the right crews were available at each step of the project. Budget - I got multiple estimates and his was very competitive. Makes you wonder is it too low? But as we went through the project, there were no sudden upcharges or surprises. His budget was real. Anything additional that we asked for, he was very reasonable with giving us a cost. Not pushy in any way, just gave us options. We're very happy with our pool and wouldn't hesitate recommending Ensar and Waterfall Pools.
