After being frustrated with dealing with that guy (he gave off creep vibes also) I went to Tak it EZ. It was the best decision I ever made for my pool maintenance. Although the man can come across as curt, his knowledge of pools and poor maintenance is the best that I've ever seen. He has a great inventory in his open seven days a week. His dedication to his craft shows. I read a couple reviews about the return policy, so just know that going in. However, He's always provided me with what I've needed the first time.

Instead of buying the entire assembly Joe explained the different options I could take. I chose with the one that best suited me at this time. He set it up for me, I picked it up with in 2 hours and installed a new motor my self. Not only did they give us a fair price on a Vita Spas Envie but they also financed it for us at 0% interest. We've now had this tub now for many years and have made so many memories with our friends in the backyard and gained relief for our sore muscles since our purchase in 2022! Thank you! Highly recommend Custom Spas Direct in Upland! Check them out!

Although I was about to purchase a hot tub from a large, well known dealer in Corona, I decided to look at Custom Spas Direct, which has good online reviews and happens to be very close to our house. I'm glad I did. I was not familiar with the Vita spa brand that Custom Spas Direct sells. There's very little information available online. After doing some digging, I determined that Vita is a decent, mid-range spa with competitive pricing. Nothing fancy, but it's built with good components from companies like Balboa Water Group. Dealing with Custom Spas Direct has been fantastic. It's a small company and we interacted directly with Jim Galpin, the owner. Jim is a straightforward guy and he was very helpful in choosing a spa. Since I was unfamiliar with Vita, I had a lot of questions and he patiently answered all of them. He quickly responded whenever I sent him a text with a question or request. After the purchase, he was super flexible with regard to delivery, setup timing, coordinating with the electrician's schedule, etc. The delivery and setup was quick and well done. The installer did a good job answering all of my questions. We've had the spa six months and have had a couple of minor issues. One was probably due to user error on my part and the other was not. In both cases, Jim responded to my texts immediately and quickly resolved my issue, even during a holiday week. I'm so glad I purchased from a local dealer that provides such fantastic service after the sale. I'm sure a larger dealer would not have given us the same treatment. Thanks Jim! Five stars!

Tropical Breeze Custom Pools - Pool evening

We hired Tropical Breeze to complete a driveway replacement in July of 2023. Shortly after the…read moredriveway was completed and the final bill was paid, we noticed large unsightly dark spots all over the entire driveway. Some of the bigger spots measure over five feet long and three feet wide. We contacted JJ, the owner via text to explain the problem and attached plenty of photos. We also asked if he would return to the job site to look at the dark spots in person. He was very dismissive from the get-go and said there wasn't much that could be done and to wait until the summer to see if the spots lightened up or go away. We waited the recommended time and the large unsightly dark spots did not go away. We reached out again via text explaining the problem did not improve and again asked to schedule a phone call to discuss. He was again very dismissive and tried to blame it on the sprinklers this time. We then called his cell phone and the company line and left messages that went unanswered. We ended up having other contractors survey the driveway and gave us several probable causes that all pointed to poor workmanship. The bottom line is JJ claims that the work they do is under warranty but in reality, it is not. He will worm his way out of taking any responsibility for the work they do if it doesn't come out right. The only recourse you have is if you haven't made the final payment yet. But with concrete, you make the payment when it's completed, and it can take weeks to cure. They are capable of doing good work as they did work on the backyard that came out fine. The problem with Tropical breeze and dealing with JJ is that if anything goes wrong, he won't do the right thing to correct the problem if he already has your money. This case ended up in a legal battle. Ask yourself this, why would you bother dealing with a contractor like this if there are plenty of other choices out there. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. See the photos of the driveway taken 1 to 2 years after completion of the project and decide for yourself if this product is acceptable.

Their work on the pool itself is beautiful so if they can fix their response time for future clients, you'll be in good hands.

Waterscape Pools & Spas - New Pebble Finish

    Waterscape Pools & Spas

I bought my home in the summer of 2024 and during the inspection was told, very matter‑of‑factly,…read morethat I had maybe one--possibly two--good summers left before the pool would need resurfacing. Spoiler alert: that prediction was spot‑on. The black algae that had been lurking in the decades‑old plaster started popping through like an uninvited guest who really doesn't take a hint, no matter how hard I tried to fight it. After a summer packed with great pool parties (worth it), I decided winter was the perfect time to handle the pool glow‑up. So I did the responsible homeowner thing: I got quotes. Five companies later, I had prices ranging from $8,500 to $20,000 and a surprising number of "optional upgrades." One vendor even offered to put a turquoise tortoise--yes, an actual mosaic tortoise--at the bottom of my pool for an extra $3-4K. Did I want it? Absolutely not. Do I adore the phrase "turquoise tortoise"? Absolutely yes. In the end, I chose Waterscape, mostly because the pricing made sense, and the communication was quick and easy via text. My only real goal was simple: resurface the pool, update the tile, and keep the whole thing under $10K. Mission accomplished. They sent over a DocuSign, gave me a one‑week December timeline, and the whole thing ran like a well‑oiled (and extremely punctual) machine: Monday, 9am-12pm: Full demolition of the old plaster Wednesday, 9am-1pm: Tile installation Saturday, 9am-12pm: New plaster poured And just like that: Brand‑new pool! After that, I stuck to the four‑week maintenance plan--daily brushing, treating the water, and absolutely zero heating of the pool or spa. Now that the curing period is done, the hot tub is officially back in action. Overall? Five stars. Smooth process, clear communication, no turquoise tortoises forced upon me, and a pool that's finally as ready for summer 2025 as I am.
